Politics / Re: Buhari: Those Plotting Nigeria’s Destruction Will Have Shock Of Their Lives by duni04(m): 6:12pm On Jun 02, 2021
patriotic007:
when I see buhari, northerners and some Western dudes boasting about a war of almost 54 years ago I just shake my head....I don't think the result will be the same if Nigeria is unfortunate enough to be lured into another one and this are my reasons
1)The people that fought that war will be different from those that will fight this one
2)The unity and cooperation Nigeria enjoyed between north middle belt and west inorder to fight a little section of the country is no longer there
3)This is 2021 everyone has friends now and many easterners are well connected abroad so don't expect them to fight without a strong Ally this time around
4) Nigeria might not enjoy the advantage of land and sea blockade they enjoyed the last time
5)No country can survive 2 civil wars never
6)As at 1967 this guys where able to construct deadly explosives(ogbunigwe). Now imagine what they will do this time around knowing fully well that many of them have excelled in various scientific endeavors this last few decades
7)The Nigerian army is at its weakest point in decades, old weapons and equipment, untrained soldiers, poor logistics and intelligence, old and outdated airplanes, and so on.The difference in the two armies won't be much.
cool motivation is on the side of Biafra from what I have noticed so far. Nigerian army will be fighting for the pockets of their leaders while the biafran army will be fighting for their lives and freedom.that will make a difference.
Nigeria should enjoy their victory and never fall into the trap of going into another war because the outcome MIGHT not be the same.
Disagree with you completely.
1. Yes the people that fought the war are different but that's a disadvantage for the Igbos because the biafran soldiers of the 60's were originally Nigerian Army troopers like Ojukwu and Effiong with plenty of Military experience. The people we have today are inexperienced cowards like Kanu that have 0 military experience but only good at propaganda. He can't even lead his boys on the ground. Hiding in the UK.

2. Regions and ethnic nationalities do not fight wars, soldiers do. The idea that a Nigerian army soldier will not fight in Biafra because he's igbo or Tiv is just flawed. Kanu's UGM boys have killed many igbo policemen, women and soldiers recently. They will not fight with him when the war starts.

3. Ally from where? Nigeria is a sovereign nation with embassies worldwide. Kanu is the leader of a terrorist group that specialises in killing soldiers and policemen and that doesn't even have the support of his own people. Who will back a terrorist organization led by a power hungry coward against a sovereign country?

4. Today's biafra map is landlocked with no access to the sea. The Niger delta tribes and states have openly denounced Biafra and will not fight with a terrorist group led by a coward in london. The blockade will be even easier to effect this time around.

5. Your mistake is in labelling it as a civil war. It is not. It is an anti terror operation. The Biafra of the 60's was a committment of the political and military leadership of the Eastern region to leave Nigeria. The Biafra of today is a petulant little coward of a man in London with access to shortwave radio for his radio Biafra to propagate nonsense to the easterners.

6. Kanu's boys cannot construct shii** because unlike the Biafran soldiers of the 60's that were trained by the British military, these ones don't even know the difference between solar panels and CCTV cameras.

7. It is true that the Army is currently overstretched but they should be able to comfortably engage a ragtag group of terrorists in a small anti terror operation. Shouldn't take time or resources.

8. I disagree because motivation cannot be on the side of a group whose leader only leads on radio while enjoyjng the comfort and coziness of London. Who will fight for that kind of leader?

Nonsense speech from Buhari. Still doesn't mean I'm in support of the nonsense going on in the South East. The South easterners that are burning their Region down and killing themselves to spite Buhari are just vexing me thoroughly. What is most vexing is that they're doing it on the orders of a complete coward who is somewhere in the UK enjoying the nice British summer and drinking cold beer angry

A group has been encouraging killing of policemen, military men, anarchy and a lot of evil but they were never banned. But when a president of a sovereign nation indicated his will to go military agent agents of destabilization, his tweet was taken down. Twitter should understand that not every country is America. Not every president can be humilated like Donald Trump.
Completely agree. Biased community rules like the one twitter is using will always result in one party doubting the fairness of twiter. Because how on earth is it ok for Nnamdi Kanu to tweet that no Nigerian soldier will leave the South East alive and then not ok for the President to tweet about restoring law and order. Its just ridiculous!
Politics / Re: Lai Mohammed Slams Twitter For Deleting Buhari's Tweet by duni04(m): 5:02pm On Jun 02, 2021
I hate to say this but i completely agree with Mohammed for the first time ever!
Twitter and even Facebook have come under severe criticism lately because of their selective and biased methods of applying their community rules. We all remember the ignoble role twitter and Facebook played in thd US elections last year. And then their really ridiculous policy on covid disinformation that they've senselessly had to track back on because there is now intelligence that the virus may have originated in a Lab in China.
When Donald Trump was pushing the same wuhan lab angle last year, Twitter banned him and others citing their community policy against fake news. Now that the liberals have seen intelligence backing the lab origins of Covid they've now tracked back on that policy.
No social media organ has the right to censor or restrict people's views. Even if they're violent or fake, they still represent peoples opinions. You can't sit on a desk in San Francisco and decide which news article from around the world is fake or real or violent. That's for people and journalists to decide. Their job is to provide the space for people to air their views. Its shameful and ridiculous. That's why the Russians and many other countries are planning to ban Facebook and twitter soon.

Britain can not continue to offer sanctuary to someone that is directly responsible for thr destruction of an entire region in Nigeria. It is not right. He should be kicked out of the UK ASAP.
If he is so Biafra conscious, let him come back and lead the way.
Its cowardice to sit in the UK and make deadly pronouncements while drinking cold beer and enjoying the British summer.

This kidnapping thing going on is really strange. When Gulak was killed the police immddiately deployed a special squad from Abuja to find his killers and they found them the next day. Ikonso was trailed in the forest and killed. Why exaxtly are these fulani guys allowed to kidnap people and make phone calls from the forest demanding ransom payment. Sometimes even sending account numbers where the money should be paid. Then the attorney general goes on TV and says the fulani people have a right to go anywhere they want. Its all suspicious and fishy. Something very diabolical is going on in the corridors of power in Nigeria. We haven't heard the President speak on any of these issues. His spokesperson is the one that dishes out statements and press releases. When the country is literally on fire!!!

If different states are allowed to have security squads like Amotekun and ESN or Abubeegu, then what is the point of restricting state police? A lot of things in Nigeria don't make sense because we don't have forward thinking people at the helm. We have people who are specialists at rearing cows leading us. Its just tragic.

Why should they take the war to the North?

Why should Northern lands be used for war by Igbo agitators.

Your hatred for North will kill you las las.

Idiot!
Because the North is the center of oppression of the entire country. It is the region that has dragged the entire country back for 61years. It is the region with the people that have stolen almost all of Nigeria's wealth for 61years. It is the home of killer herdsmen and terrorists. That is why they should take it to the North. If northerners can freely export their terrorism and banditry to other regions of Nigeria in the name of constitutional Freedom of movement, then other tribes are empowered by the same constitution to do same.

Honestly I'm 100% in support of the Igbo quest to leave this broken country. But I'm not in support of the killing of mostly igbo police officers and soldiers and the burning of buildings in igboland. I think you should take the war to Abuja and the north. Not home! Another thing I'm not in support of is Nnamdi Kanu giving orders from the safety and comfort of London. A leader should lead from the front. Not telling igbos to kill and burn while eating turkey and drinking cold beer in London.

This is a clear sign of State sponsored terrorism and must stop henceforth or they should prepared to kill everyone of us.
This argument doesn't hold water. As long as your communities continue to host people that come out of the Bush and shoot policemen, soldiers and now politicians dead, your communities will be raided as many times as possible by the security agencies your terrorists are targeting. Long reply, no disrespect but You probably haven’t lived abroad?, United Kingdom & United States are 100x more diverse than us in Nigeria, the blacks &’other racial minorities have nothing in the white man’s world, hundreds of differing nationalities living as one country, when you tell a white man that there is division in Nigeria Africa he wonders why, since everyone is of one race & most likely speak a common language, the ignorance of the black man will destroy him, I rest my case.
I have lived in London for a while . I understand multiculturalism and how the British because of their heritage, past religion and culture have accepted other peoples religions and cultures peacefully. Its a different case in Nigeria. The culture and religion of the people up north will never be tolerant to others. Its the same thing across the islamic world. Good thing you mentioned the west because they too are starting to realise that multiculturalism has failed especially with Islam because of the nature of that religion. That is the number 1 reason for the growth of right wing parties in Europe. That is why anti islamic sentiments are growing stronger in America. That is why the french are starting to rethink migration from muslim countries because they are killing their police officers. That is why Denmark has sent Syrian refugees back home to Syria.
If you are using multiculturalism in Europe as the reason for Nigeria to continue to remain together, that point is dead in a arrival because even the Europeans have realised that Islam is not and will never be a tolerant religion. And its sad that we in Nigeria share a country with those people.

Today in the United States they are remembering a 100 years of the Tulsa Massacre (The destruction of Black Wall Street) in Oklahoma, Nothing is new in the world, Nations overcome & solve their problems, mind over matter, not running to new imaginations that it is always greener on the other side.
You have a point. But we can only move forward when we first of all agree to be together and accept our differences. But when we have a situation where after 61years of being together as a nation, there are still questions about whether we should be together! It means our grandparents in the 60's concluded that we were so different that we didn't belong together, hence the civil war. Our parents in the 80's made the same conclusion hence the mass immigration back then. Then we also have come to the same conclusion in 2021. We are so different from each other especially the people up North who have a completely different outlook to life than we down south. Its been 61years of arguing whether we belong together and 0 years building, development and growth. Are we going to spend the rest of our existence arguing about whether we belong together as a nation. If we've tried something for 61 years and it has failed woefully, doesn't it make sense to switch to something else? Its foolishness to continue doing something that has faiked and continues to fail while expecting a different outcome. Like a couple that has been together for 61years in an unhappy marriage where absolutely nothing is working. It makes sense to try something else. Nigeria should split up and let those people up North continue their meritless, socialist quota system while others that are more capitalist and competitive move on with their lives. Its unfair to use one's culture and religion to drag an entire country backwards the way the Hausas have dragged Nigeria backwards for 61years!!!

You're ignorant. What drives victory in wars is resolve, motivation and ideology, not even weaponry in the case of this type of war. BH has ideology, Nigerian army has none. Boko Haram can fight without payment for what they believe in. Nigerian army would become mutinous if you don't pay them for a month because they don't even know what they're fighting for if not the monthly salary. Compare them with ESN and understand. Ideological armies always win. Those guys are fighting and ready to die for what they believe in. No soldier wants to die for a country that isn't his. As things stand today. Nigeria as a country belongs to only one ethnic group - Fulani. It's a matter of adding a war in the East to the BH crisis and the rotten tomato would collapse. Even your people in government are aware. That's why there's mass last minute looting going on. They want to grab as much as they can because the tomorrow of Nigeria is NO LONGER assured.

Talking about ESN not being trained. Really? Have you not seen the so-called trained Nigerian troops running from them? Talking about hardened soldiers. War hardens every soldier. The ESN themselves would become hardened in a matter of months of combat. They have time and population to recruit from on their side. The more the Nigerian army kill innocent Igbos, the more the ESN and IPOB rank and people with guns swells. This is not 1967 when the Biafrans were outgunned. Today, they have money for guns and a ready black market all over the world to supply them. Unless the government use their brains, the outcome of this conflict is predictable.
I absolutely detest people who cannot make a point without throwing insults. Don't quote me again. Thanks!

You know nothing about a people's resolve. The Nigerian government is dealing with a minority at the moment. Let them push further and the mainstream movement would start. It doesn't matter the strategy they employ. If the people gang up against the government, it must crumble. The soldiers are already demoralized by the killings from Boko Haram. Add more killings from the East, they won't even have the resolve to fight. If your government has iota of sense, this is time to dialogue because people who are not interested in resisting the government will automatically do so if anyone they know is killed. That is the strength of Boko Haram and that is the strategy that will make Kanu and his IPOB win. How many soldiers do you have to fight a major tribe of millions? You CANNOT win.
You certainly can't borrow the Boko haram model to win a war against Nigeria. Except Nmamdi kanu wants to convert to islam. Those boko haram fighters are warriors that are ready to die for their cause. They are unafraid of battle. That's the main fear of the Nigerian Army. They can even blow themselves up in furtherance of their cause. Nigerian soldiers can't do that! Boko haram fighters are also well trained as they have instructors, Jihadists and fighters from Libya, Syria and Afghanistan. The biafran ESN or IPOD are not trained in combat, they don't have a religion that encourages them to blow themselves up for 7 virgins. Instead they have boys that tie "bullet proof" charms around themselves because they love life and don't want to die. They also don't have hardened fighters from Afghanistan, Libya and Chad in their ranks. There is absolutely no basis for comparison. ESN will be decimated the moment the Nigerian Army move in and take them out. The Army now has hardened soldiers with war experience from the North East. It will be a massacre of Igbos. I only pity the many innocents that will be caught in the crossfire.

In 1966 the Eastern region weren't divided into states..
But now it is with Igbo communities that has oil carved into Niger delta. I want to ask you what if those Communities return back and are ready to go with BIAFRA? Then tell me.. how then is the East resourceless?

Remember the Eastern region also has the highest amount of Gas in the whole country...is Gas not resource again?
Never heard this before. Can you provide links to back it up?

...Oga I want ask you one question... Shey you know say for Niger delta, different ethnicities dey there and the Igbos make up at most 25% of the people there minus Ikas and Ikwerres. If you join those groups it comes 35%..
I want to ask you, what do you want those Igbos to do?...do you really believe they won't want to go with their Eastern brothers?

And by the way stop referring me to 1966... 1966 the Niger delta still control large part of their resources and they weren't marginalized. But today's they only give them 13%.. their lands are polluted. The oil in their lands have been given to hausas Fulanis etc.
How many Niger deltans own oil Wells?

So do you really believe nthey will fight for a Nigeria that has failled where dey Fulanis control everything and where quota system is at play instead of merit to a BIAFRA?
And I'm not saying they will go with BIAFRA, I'm saying they will support BIAFRAexit... Simple.

By the way, those southern Igbos will be carved back into the East and so will the oil in those Igbos communities fall into the East.. Nigeria can go with the rest of ijaw etc... But be rest assured we in Akwa ibom are going it alone..
AkwaCross we stand.
I keep referring you to the past because it is from what has happened before that we will know what'll happen in the future. The Niger delta volunteer force actually fought Nigeria before Biafra did. They are not with Biafra and will not join Biafra. Today's Biafra is landlocked and has no resources or wherewithal to fight a war against Nigeria. Infact Ojukwu's Biafra stood a better chance of defeating Nigeria than Kanu's Biafra.
I suggest pursuing other means to leave Nigeria because the route currently being pursued will lead to massive bloodshed. I'm suspecting Kanu knows this much and his strategy is to provoke the very unprofessional Nigerian Army into killing as many innocent igbos as possible so that he can cry to the international community for help. That's why kanu is currently paying American lobbyists millions of dollars to push the Biafran agenda in the US congress. He knows many innocent igbos will die in this conflict that he is deliberately provoking with his "UGM" but to a narcissist like him, that's just a small sacrifice for glory

Byt the way you keep talking about oil.
If you put the igbos in the SS, minus the Ikwerres and Ikas..( the Igbos won't leave without their brothers in the SS ....
The Igbos in the SS have oil too. Check Obigbo for instance. It is an oil producing community in Rivers

What of the Aniomas in Delta state?
The Etches, the Ekpemas etc? They all have oil producing communities and I'm sure they will prefer going with their brothers ( that they speak same language with) than going with Nigeria.
A Referrrndum will show you that.
Again I'll refer you to the Biafran war in the 60's. The Niger delta declared a republic seperate from biafra in 1966 and fought Nigeria for 12 days. Nigeria won. Isaac boro was captured and jailed. He made a deal with Gowon for the then disbanded Niger delta volunteer force to fight with Nigeria against Biafra. Because he understood what you're failing to understand - The niger delta people will not replace one form of slavery with another! They are better off alone than fighting to be slaves in Biafra. Their 13% in Nigeria is better than an unknown percentage in Biafra, that is if the majority igbo Biafra would even be willing to acknowledge their rights to the oil.

By the way, this is not 1967.... This time it will be different. No country has successfully gone through two civil war and remain one.
The UN will come in an finally divide Nigeria to keep the peace because definitely with the amount of Igbos in diaspora they will be to much pressure on the UN to do something.

And you forget Nigeria is also fighting a war in the north... Iswap will see an opportunity to strike and strike hard and they will. We heard they're already in Niger state.. imagine what else then.

Bro think. You can even see what I'm trying to tell you, shey in Rivers, Delta ( Niger delta states) are there no unknown Gunmen killing?

Now let's come to the economy aspect.. a war in the East will engulf the whole Niger delta too from Rivers, to delta to Bayelsa even to Akwa ibom.. especially in Rivers and Delta where Igbos hold significant presence there. They will destroy pipelines and Nigeria Economy will crumble.

Now if Nigeria call on China, the US will be on BIAFRA side( remember the US no like China and there is competition between them)
So will Britain and other US allies stand with BIAFRA.. now Even France will be happy, they will see it as an opportunity to reduce the power of Nigeria in Africa..
A divided Nigeria does that for them
I'm not sure where you're getting your ideas from but goodluck. I described to you what happened in the 60's during the Biafran war. You are merely describing wishful events. I am very sure the tribes in the south south will be very weary of Biafra like Isaac Adaka boro who was on the Nigerian side during the war. This is because they know that if they join the Biafran agitation, they automatically become minorities if Biafra is actually actualized. Its like asking them to replace one slave master with another. They will be better off enjoying their 13% derivation in Nigeria or fighting for their own republic than joining Biafra. Biafra does not in any way appeal to them. That is why they have all come out to denounce IPOD and ESN and told them to restrict their activities to the majority igbo states. The fact that the igbo ESN hiding in bushes in Delta, Rivers and Akwa ibom are killing policemen doesn't mean they have the support of the Niger delta people.

But he just told you the truth. Forget the supposed insult and reason it. Black man reason bro.
Nigeria can't afford to fight the East.
For eg, country A won't be happy if country B( it neighbor) goes into war cause he knows it will affect it.

Same way, A war in the East will get into the Niger delta ( the cash cow of Nigeria) militants will start bombing pipelines.. our economy will fall.
Iswap will see it as an opportunity to invade Abuja and they will.. now Nigeria will be fighting on two fronts.

Don't forget, the Igbos already in the army will not want their land to be destroy so certainly they will be mutiny in the army.
But if we are to look at precedence, the Nigerian Army has successfully defeated a succession attempt in the east before. Then Biafra had an organised army consisting mostly of former Nigerian soldiers. They also took full control of former Nigerian army assets in the East. Biafra was also larger geographically as it included present day Akwa Ibom, Delta, Rivers and Bayelsa, with all their oil resources. Today Biafra is just a few majority igbo states and the Niger Delta states have openly dissociated themselves from Biafra. There is no access to the sea for supplies incase you want to smuggle weapons in from friendly states like Ojukwu did. There is also no access to border areas like Cameroon, like Ojukwu had, incase you want to smuggle in weapons like Ojukwu also did. Today's Biafra is landlocked and surrounded by Nigerian territory. Any kind of conflict will result in very massive casualties, far greater than the civil war in the 60's. I think it is cheaper for the Igbos to pursue succession through other means. Any kind of conflict with the rest of Nigeria will be a sucide mission. They can't win.
