Dear All,

Please I need candid opinion of business people here (i.e. those running various small/ medium scale businesses). What business can one do with 500,000 naira in Lagos?

Am interested in a business that
1. involves buying and selling
2. can guarantee daily cash flow

Not interested in a business that
1. has to do with production
2. shoes/ cloth (i think there are way too many people involved in that right now)

I currently work full time and need a business that can be run by the side (maybe employ a staff). Have thought of food - juice, drinks, packaged foods (semovita etc) but don't know how viable these are.

Your candid opinions are welcome.

POSITIVE
1. More Universities = More Jobs
2. More Universities = More Destinations for hitherto denied candidates
3. More Universities = Increased Possibilities of developing host towns

NEGATIVE
1. More Universities  = Continued Trend of producing half-baked graduates giving the Present Status of Funding
2. More Universities  = Increased Pressure of "meagre" fund to the Educational System
3. More Universities  = Whole lot more complications in the already disorganised administration

I graduated from OAU in 2007 and presently on a Research programme in United Kingdom, my jaws dropped and I felt like weeping when I entered some of the labs of my university here where research graduates and undergraduates have access to high end facility, a colleague took me through a process where he personally manufactured and tested optical fibre and lasers, I looked round at the 3 labs I toured in only one research group and the investment there alone would most likely build another university in Nigeria half way.

Eventhough this might come across as selfish, I wished the federal government can look into improving R& Funding in the already established Nigerian Universities and scale it up to standards that output from such Universities can help push the economy towards formidable industrialisation and self sustenance, my 1 cent

The General Overseer of Living Word Prayer Ministry International (LWPMI), Lagos, Prophet Tobi Okonkwo, has ruled out the chances of an Igbo president in 2015. He warned that the increasing agitation for a president of Igbo extraction would hit the rock, unless the region puts its house in order.

In an interview with Daily Sun in his office at Agege, Prophet Okonkwo, who is also the former Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Ogba zone, said Ndigbo needed to expunge selfishness among its members and seek the face of God in true contrition and supplication.

Okonkwo, who predicted the emergence of Jonathan as president long before the death of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, also warned Jonathan to shun empty praises from political sycophants and address the challenges facing the nation.

According to him, Jonathan must step on toes in order to fulfill the expectations of Nigerians for good leadership. Speaking on the ambition of some section of the South East for a president from the zone in 2015, the cleric said: “Listen to me! There is nothing like Igbo presidency now. What Igbos need to do is seek the face of God and put their house in order, otherwise, in 2015, there will be no Igbo presidency.

They need to repent. The leaders of the region are championing their own selfish interest. They are not interested in the general welfare of the region. They need to seek the face of God. Mark my words. In 2015, Igbo man cannot be the president,” he stated.

Citing the meteoric rise of President Jonathan, Okonkwo stressed that it is only by divine approval that a South East President would emerge and urged the people of the region to return to God.

His words: “Jonathan has come on divine purpose to address the problems of this country. People should support him so that God can use him to actualize his purpose. Those who oppose Jonathan are fighting God. Just like David, the poor shepherd, was chosen as king ahead of his brothers, God chose Jonathan to unite this country,” he said.

Prophet Okonkwo also condemned the spate of bomb blasts in the country and warned of an imminent wrath against the perpetrators of such killings.
“All those who are involved in killing innocent people will pay with their blood. Mark my words. All those leaders that feel they are more than the law, God will visit them with anger. God’s hand is upon this country. You cannot kill anybody and go free. You cannot waste innocent lives and go free,” he warned.

So the people of other regions have returned to God that is why they have been producing the president? BALDERDASH!!!! These prophets should leave us alone sef.

With keen interest i've both listen to all your nerrations and advices but i am here to tell you that YES it's POSSIBLE because there is nothing God cannot do if actually you are mean to be with each other there is thing that can come in between you or there is nothing anybody can do about it even her parent that you think they may be an obstacles in your relationship they will be the once supporting you. Yes, with God all things are possible but wisdom is also profitable to direct. Can two walk together except they AGREE?. The lady is not the only female on the face of the earth, there is no one woman/ man for one person. Why people deliberately put themselves into problem/ undue stress is beyond me.

Bros, one key area of compatibility in marriage is that of religious beliefs. If you don't have the same beliefs, then why go ahead? It will just lead to unnecessary stress and unhappiness.

we have been surviving without it, until its arrival, its funny how some people think pure water has been there right from time the same way the rest of them made it, like seriously is someone forcing you to comment?  lmao you cracked me up that's right I agree with everyone who has said this
@ all those who keep saying pure water is the common man affordable drinking water like are you serious, now check this out, a [color=#000099]jerry can of water cost #20 and a sachet  water cost #10 so you see when its come to affordable I think a poor man will rather go for the jerry can that can serve him many purposes than a sachet of water which will only quench his taste for a while [/color]

How clean is that jerry can of water? How many people actually drink the water from public taps without having to do some form of sterilization? Although many people take pure water while on the go ( on the street etc) but you find that more people are also buying for consumption in their homes because of the unavailability of potable water. Even the water in some houses that have boreholes cannot be consumed without some form of water treatment done.

I still maintain that the sachet water may not be the best but considering the situation of our country, government should look into promoting and enforcing good environmental/ waste disposal policies while the regulatory agencies ensure that the manufacturers adhere strictly to good manufacturing/ quality policies.

You can also note that most of the companies manufacturing pure water also bottle it (50cl, 75cl and even the big bottles used in water dispensers)
