Tdoctor: Please, do you have details on how he achieved this and what voltage settings he is using? Likely 48v. I have connected such in the past BUT if you really parallel them, then you must understand that you have to sacrifice one set up for the other. That means that your charging profile should have to favour one battery type as you cannot do both. The other way is TWO Independent battery bank with a changeover switch to select which bank to use with your inverter. Each battery will now have a CC with the appropriate charging profile. |

FEGEITOK: Valid point, my neighbor has never recharged the meter since I came unless she is using the wireless module to recharge.
When I saw a house metered the other day, the official asked the houseowner for N20,000.00 to make the meter read slowly.
I am now more emboldened to tear apart those boards and really check what is going on behind them Just dont by mistake bypass Nepa meters o! that na crime, If I understand you present predicament well , I think what you should do is trace what is going on rather than meddle close to the meter. I suspect the cause of your challenge is the automatic neutral wire selection by your inverter. I am presently having the same challenge in my house with ONE inverter out of the TWO connected. I have been using both for long and did not change any connection, but suddenly one of the inverters started backfeeding to the grid with very high consumption WHEN NEPA IS OFF AND I SWITCH THE INVERTER ON. The only way to STOP this excessive discharge is to disconnect from the grid by putting my changover to neutral OR use it in BYPASS mode with the ON switch off. If you have one, try and put an automatic change switch before the AC input to your inverter and see. AC supply to your inverter will only now occur if there is GRID and prevents a backflow |

Hope the transformer was not changed or a resistor added? KudozInteriors: Good morning bosses So much learning in this space. Thank you all so much. It’s been a while. I went to supervise a construction work and network was really terrible there. We’ll, I’m a certified civil/structural engineer o in case someone here has work for me🙏🏼😃
I’ve been having an issue with my inverter since I came back. I took one of my studio monitors (speakers) to an electrician to fix the switch as it was problematic. After that, I noticed that each time I switch on the speakers, my inverter fan increases in speed like the sound of an ox fan and once I put off the speakers, the fan relaxes after a few minutes.
Please who has experienced a thing like this before? What could be the cause of this?
Thank you sooo much🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 |

Yohako 24v 5kw do not cap. Carried 1.5 hp water pump, 1.8kw water heater and other house hold appliances. We were having a house party and guests were loading the system as they wish until smoke was noticed from the power room and battery cable was noticed to be melting. I had since doubled the cables and the inverter still in business. I had expected the breaker to cut power too abuzz33: Except that most 5kw 24v inverters cap maximum output at 3000w or 125A. |

Yes( from personal experience). The current draw in a 24v(amps used at a given voltage ) will be double of what a 48v system will use for any given load. Implications: at the peak end of load, the 24v 5kw system will be drawing about 200amps, putting your cables under serious strain, getting hot and catching fire. Trust me , I have both systems eghos12: Quick question 24v 5kw and 48v 5kw is there any difference when in use? |

It is likely back feeding to the grid. Try and switch off ALL your connection to NEPA while the inverter is on, and you should notice a drop immediately if what I am suspecting is the problem. Note : disconnect your house from Nepa and see Ofejiro20: Good evening Hux...
I've a 5kva Syndian Inverter with 8 luminous tubular batteries which powers all my appliances like 1.5hp Lg inverter, 65 inch Lg TV, Blender, Thermocool Hiscene Table Refrigerator, 4 fans and lightning points. I bought my inverter under good working condition but as fairly used, and it has served me for 3 years now.
This is the 3rd time I've repaired my inverter and just one week of using it after it was repaired, I noticed the fault as started again. The inverter will be making a humming sound inside it and the load rating on the inverter will be like 13% to 14% when my appliance is switched on and even when I switched off all the loads.
Why is my inverter making humming sound and why is the load rating 13% or 14% even when there is no load on the inverter? Is it normal? |

Can you send the picture? I have a 5KVA Yohako inverter (Non Hybrid) but the settings are editable. I suspect yours is the same type. Does it have a screen and four buttons? Don't sell off before you confirm this o! Royle2014: So guys. I've had a 5kva Yohako non hybrid inverter i bought back then for an installation but i never used. Now i have a 10kwh lithium battery and i want to install it. However, an engineer told me that i need to get a smart hybrid inverter because installing my non hybrid yohako inverter would ruin my lithium battery because it's not smart and wont be able to set cut off voltage etc... He's suggesting that he can help me sell off my 5kva 48v Yohako, I'll add like 100k (amount to buy a stand alone charge controller) and he'll get me a smart inverter of 3.5kva or 4.3kva for 350k....so he plans on selling a 5kva brand new Yohako for 250k. The whole thing sounds fishy to me....is he telling the truth or can i go ahead and use the Yohako 5kva with the 10kwh lithium i have?. I already have 4 590watts panels, all i need to do is to order a charge controller and do the install. I dont plan to charge with grid fyi.... Strictly solar charging |

fuckboys: I don't know about external charge controller but most hybrid inverters would wake a sleeping BMS
My Bread inverter did when I first drained battery to zero to activate the BMS.
Everything went off, both battery and inveter, the first sunlight the next morning immediately turned on the inverter which then waked the BMS. Ah! Good to know about Bread inverters. |

favouredbymercy: Boss. Please I need your help ooooo. I need una help o. I hit low voltage cut off for the Haisic 25.6v 8kwh battery and now my battery just shut and wont start. Does not come on. Power from grid wont charge it. Please how do I wake it up 'MANUALLY' like you said. Please Bro. I nor knw say this thing once e reach lvd go shut down totally 🥺 I know you have sorted this out now but just putting this information out here. Not ALL inverters are smart and able to automatically wake a sleeping BMS. And nothing is wrong with the BMS of your battery by the way. Settings on your inverter should be changed to make the LVD ( low voltage disconnect) to be about 1.5 to 3v higher than the Low voltage shutdown (LVS) of your battery. So for a 24v system if battery LVS is 20v, set inverter LVD to 22v. Mine is even set at 23.5v! Other options: 1)Better to buy batteries with smart (Bluetooth) enabled) BMS. You should still be able to communicate with it despite a output shutdown and wake it from the app on your phone 2) Get a AC Lithium external battery charger for such occasions. Need not to be expensive or of high ampere. Just enough to wake it 3) Get a external CC that is solar powered ( some newer Felicity cc do that for example) and once the Sun is out , wakes the battery. Most CCs are battery powered and will not work. So you have to look for CCs with that capability. 4) You may need to wake the Battery by connecting a similar voltage battery in PARALLEL to your battery. 5) Worst case scenario: On one of my setups where I could not alter the LVD of my inverter. I quietly connected some old Lead acid batteries in parallel to the Lithium battery pack. This ensures that the Cc will be on even if the Lithium battery BMS sleeps and once sun comes out charge from the CC will wake the battery. Two years running and no issues |

Running on solar? Likely the inverter was trying to charge from the low grid voltage. I have mentioned this possibility before. https://www.nairaland.com/390522/solar-energy-complement-fta/1935#134429699 isangjohnson: Please, does anyone have any experience with inverter being exploded?
A customer called and told me yesterday that his 5kva 48v Felicity hybrid inverter exploded at about 8pm and smokes were every where.
Though I'm sending someone to his house today to check what actually happened but I tried asking him certain questions to know what actually happened. He told me there was nepa light (low current) but the house was running by the solar. The weather was normal and lightning/thunder at all.
The installation was perfectly done. |

HeavenlyBang: That wouldn't limit his output to 500w, though. Don't think I've seen an MPPT that requires higher than 120v startup, which his panels supply. Mrreed is actually right. The 120-120v range is for the CC to wake up and not necessarily function best. The best MPPT range should be in the manual. Rule of thumb is starting from X2 of the minimum input voltage. Anything from about 240 to 300v |

Good afternoon house, i need advice on an issue at my place of work in the server room. A felicity CC + Techfine transformer based 5KVA inverter + YOHAKO 24v 5KVW LifePo4 battery system has been giving problem. The system will just trip off arbitrarily, usually at night. I suspect its due to battery OVD from the battery BMS. What are the options available apart from replacing the setup.? NB: There is backup power from Gen or Grid most times. Main use is to keep server online pending either of the backup coming back |

Be informed. Read the NYSC Act. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse. Online supporters, no matter how many or how vocal , do not protect from the consequence of ignorance. My opinion do not matter. Who the Preside t is do not matter. Her state of origin or service do not matter. There are many people here espousing their personal opinions and beliefs. That is just noise. That too do not matter. Change the law, then you can change the consequences. As of today, her NYSC year is in jeopardy and minimum of extension. If she persists in this path, then........next year is another year!

Likely to be low voltage more than any other things like high voltage or surge. With low grid voltage, more amperes will be drawn to be able to charge your battery. This will generate very high temperature , wires will melt and shorting becomes inevitable. I once had had an inverter literally catch fire from that. burnerr: Wahala, I never even use this thing up to 2 weeks. Any idea what might have caused it? |

Likely the inverter is hybrid with inbuilt Cc to accommodate the other panels ask4bk: 35 pieces of 555w panels? 😱😱😱😱😱
Choi.
Why you using it on only 1 cc of 120a? 120a means the highest it'll use to charge the two batteries is about 6.5kwh. With 35 of those panels, at peak you could produce 19kwh. What happens to the rest not used? You should've got 2 mppts and you will have enough juice to pump into both batteries. |
