Present sir! We shall see in za other room!
ojeysky:
Someone expressed interest in my current 200AH LFP bank some time ago but I can't seem to find the post. It should be available from next week for 400k pere, you can reach me on whatsApp.
Current status:

1. 16 by 105 cells

2. It's deepest discharge I have done is 170AH

3. Its currently at about 150cycles or less. From the picture you will see 85cycles but I installed the BMV about 3months of usage.

4. Procured early this year, around Feb/march.

5. It has a reset button incase you do a deep discharge and trip the BMS but that button no longer works. So if your BMS trips, you will need to wake it up by charging from utility source the Daly BMS does not wake up by solar charging in hybrid systems unless you are using an external CC

I have attached some pictures for your reference

AgricultureRe: Hidden Truths About Catfish Business!!! by durodee(m): 7:19am On May 24, 2020
I have watched the raging debate on why fish farming should be encouraged or discouraged and I want to state some points in an unbiased manner.
1) Profit margin in businesses differ. Even there might be differences within a specific business. Yet many market factors demand that each aspect of that business must exist for there to be a flow. E.g hospitals make more money from conducting surgeries than clinic care BUT you have to run the " Unprofitable" clinic to see patients to do the surgery on.
2) All business survive on reducing the cost of production while the keeping the value of goods produced. The profit margin in fish farming is delicate and you just have to KNOW what to fine tune without incurring losses
3) No business survive on passion only. You must make profits. However, some people are contented with thousands while others are not satisfied even with millions.
4) No business is immune to risks. Businesses fold up daily whether Pure Water business or a fish farm or a Petrol Station. Yet new ones come up and thrive where some may have failed.
5) No business is static; you must keep innovating and learning. Study-apply-learn. That cycle must continue.
6) YOU CANNOT DO ALL BUSINESS! KNOW WHAT WORKS FOR YOU AND STICK TO IT!!!!!
Selah!

Resume:

Thanks so much for this. I want clarify the name of the drug ( antistress or fratadol?)
Thanks.
NB: I usually do not feed on the day of delivery.
atoleybaba:
first of all when you collected the fish, did u feed them immediately? If yes you made a mistake cause they just underwent stress and should have been left alone to get use to the new environment (new water) which is also another stress on it on. So best thing u could have done was left them for at least 30mins before feeding them a little (depending on how they respond) another thing was that you should have administered anti stress in their water. Now, the problem is u might have been overfeeding them thereby the water is getting polluted making them have that white patch and getting sick. They will keep dying in hundreds, infact that white patch indicate that they are sick. So what u should do is go to ur local store where you get catfish feed and drugs and ask for it or fratadol. When you get it, I don't know how big the pond u kept them is. But if it is a plastic tank, drain the pond, flush thoroughly let the water in the pond be clean, pump the water to a quarter of the pond(basically just let the water volume in the pond be low not too extremely low tho), put 2table spoon of otc in a bowl, mix with water and pour it in the pond. Let the fish swim in the treated water for like 30-40 mins then pump the water to half of ur pond and feed them little (don't overfeed) 24hrs later, drain the water completely and repeat the process. You should be fine by then.
AgricultureRe: Hidden Truths About Catfish Business!!! by durodee(m): 1:32pm On May 13, 2020
Good morning house, I took supply of some fingerlings (2000) about 3 weeks ago and have lost about 50-60 of them. Sometimes for days no death if I don't feed them but immediately I feed them they will start dying the following day. I have changed water repeatedly, done flow through etc. Same result.
They are housed in a 16 feet by 14 feet tarpaulin pond filled to 2-3 feet level. Source of water borehole.

Recently I noticed white patches on their heads, though they remain quite active and not hanging.

I have been rearing fish in that pond on and off now for 3 years with good results at the onset. Similar thing happened with the last batch of fish I got last year and I lost close to 300 pieces before they stopped dying.
Before restocking, I allowed the pond to be empty for a month then washed with salt. Rinse out thoroughly before filling up. Used some fish feeds to encourage small algae and insect growth before putting the fish.

Please help because I am now confused. Water PH is 7.5.
ComputersRe: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by durodee(m): 1:43am On May 10, 2020
The frequency (50 or 60Hz) mismatch between Gen and inverter is the commonest wahala

debeey87:
I'll appreaciate inputs based on the wealth of experience from members on this thread.

I Installed a 2kva inverter with 2 x 200amp batteries last August but its rarely used because my neighborhood is on 33kva line. But whenever we use it, it can last up to 36hrs on few light bulbs, 1 ceiling fan through the night and TV in my flat. My only concern is that whenever the battery gets low or depleted, it might take up to 16hrs or more to get it charged back up. Also whenever it is put on generator to recharge the battery, error is mostly dispayed with a long beep sound. I called the guy who installed it who mentioned smtn about the generator but when I checked, the input from the generator was more than 200v and it carries every other appliance in the house except the inverter. I have a4.5kva generator. What could likely be the cause of the error showing whenever it is on generator and is it ok for the batteries to take that long to recharge after it is depleted.

Thanks
ComputersRe: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by durodee(m): 2:16pm On May 09, 2020
No I don't sell. I use it for business and domestically spread over different facilities. I also started low and went up the size ladder as my need increased. I however kept all, making use of them as I see fit. I do most installations myself, including solar panel installations, as a form of relaxation. I should not mention the number and total capacity of Ccs that I have or the number of panels or batteries.! grin!!!
Without alternative energy, my business would have suffered terribly. Imagine 2 years without national grid power and you need power 24/7? I went the route of using generators before sense found me.
ewizard1:
Those external Bulk chargers are referred to "Dumb Chargers". They work on a simple AC - DC principle consisting of a Transformer and Diode and are advised to only be used to revive a dead battery.

Inbuilt chargers of a quality brand inverter should be different and work intelligently unlike the previous one up there. There are also intelligent "3 step" standalone chargers

Bit wait ooo, only you 9 inverters, you mean you sell them?
ComputersRe: Inverter Users : Lets Have Your Experience by durodee(m): 12:25pm On May 09, 2020
Sir, let me start with the fact that I am not a professional installer ot technician but I have had some experience with inverter use. At present, I have a total of Nine (9) inverters ranging from 800va 12v to 6kw 24v. Of those eight (cool have inbuilt chargers, while 2 of them are Hybrid inverters in that they also have solar charging capability apart from charging through Nepa or Generator. I also have 4 external chargers deployed when I feel I need additional speed in recharging my batteries after use.
One important thing to note is that some chargers (whether inbuilt or external) are BULK chargers and do not optimally charge a lead acid batteries we commonly use. A good charger (whether external or internal) must be appropriatly sized/ big enough for the system and able to replace the power drawn from the battery as soon as possible without overcharging the battery or destroying it. It must also take the battery through at least 3 phases--bulk, absorb and float. A fourth phase may be required intermittently by some batteries called equalization phase. These type of chargers are called "intelligent" chargers and are the best type, and remember, it could be internal or external.
Sometimes to cut costs, some inverters come without a charger or a low grade one, causing issues with time for the attached batteries.

Timileyin1234:
Wetin we talk reach there be say, he say inverter dey charge battery. I com say if u don’t have external charger inverter cannot charge the battery else maybe u are using solar with it.

As I com see ur own external charger now, e mean say wetin I know b4 no b fluke. That is my external charger

True BUT the issue of "you better do better" is what chases some people away from solar energy thinking it's too expensive. People buy and use I PASS MY NEIGHBORS Gen readily just to power some things in the house and not use generator to power their fridge etc ever or buy a bigger generator. Must someone upgrade? No!! Or because of possible upgrade in the future allow Heat to suffer my head now? No again!!

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by durodee(m): 3:44pm On Mar 12, 2020
Concerning point 1 was my issue. While I fully understand the reset button scenario, my worry remained. How can my Cc charge at all if no power gets to it?
Possibly that was why only grid might be successful to wake it up on the event of a shutdown.
ojeysky:
There are 2 things here:

1. Low voltage protect of the BMS, if and when this happens the BMS shutdown power from going out of the battery hence your inverter won't even come on. The idea is for you not to get to that stage by doing point 2 below, but if it happens, the reset button or hoping that a high solar current will be sufficient to wake up the BMS are the options

2. Voltage cut-off by the inverter, if this happens then no issues as the inverter is what has stopped output hence your battery still have juice in it and will be ready to receive charge whenever it comes up. I recommend this and currently have mine set to 24v.... unfortunately that is the highest cut-off voltage that I can set on my inverter (and I think this is applicable to most inverters).
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by durodee(m): 8:36am On Mar 12, 2020
Do you MANUALLY have to reset the BMS? I presume a low voltage cutoff means the system shuts down due to battery being disconnected to inverter. In an Axpert type of inverter system, the inbuilt CC depends on battery being available to power on and I connot but imagine the possibility that the sun will be shining and my system will be sitting dead while I am at work. Or is there something I am missing herehuh

ojeysky:
No it can't be connected in series. It can be powered by solar if you can get high amps from it. If the BMS trips due to low battery, don't reset the BMS until you have reasonable hervest (at least 5 to 10A), am off-grid and that's what I do everytime I have had a BMS trip. That said, it's better to avoid getting that low in the first place :-)

Typo! It's 24v/400amp.

Thanks for the info.
ojeysky:
For now the major performance I noticed is the ability to accept amps/power surges. For instance, my washing machine on startup does some few min of over 1.4kw draw (think it's the heater), my lead acid was unable to cope even when the battery is full but LFP takes it without stress. Capacity wise I have done some rough test but yet to do actual (getting bmv soon) but I don't expect much surprises as the 200A LFP serves the same load (or more) for similar duration that my 300A lead did at corresponding DOD.
For me the big deal in LFP performance will be whether it's capacity remains the same in 3 to 5 years time (after many cycles)

Do you mean as 48v/200A? with over 2 years of usage, are you loosing capacity on it yet? and at what DoD have you been maintaining.

That said, If I have opportunity to get more lithium, I will rather go DIY by procuring the cells, slamming a BMS on it. That way I am able to easily do periodic individual cell check(even though I know that's the work of the BMS) and will also save some cash. Found some good deals on AliExpress but shipping is the problem, if anyone knows a reliable china-nigeria freight forwarder please share.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by durodee(m): 11:17pm On Feb 22, 2020
ojeysky:
LFP Vs Lead Acid. You going lithium? If you have a 24v set-up, Don't expect voltage to reach the 24v and infact if your lithium get to that level then you are already at almost 90% DoD. Most of the lithium juice is within 3.2 and 3.4v (per cell)
After using for a few weeks, is your present LFP setup performance actually DOUBLE the Lead Acid 300amp 24v performance? I have 4 Monbat 200amps batteries (connected as 24v/200amp) that have been in serious use for 28months and
I am gathering info as I consider replacement soon
