I am not aware that CC goes bad because it was not used for a number of years.
It does not have an internal Battery that runs flat or anything like that.
Sapiosexuality:
But wouldn't it be unsafe to have a backup that may not be used for years? Won't the device breakdown?
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by durodee(m): 2:27pm On Apr 28, 2024
I will advice you STRONGLY not to sell. You will not be able to get it at the price you sold it if you need it back . Moreover, you won't have any backup in case anything happens. Find money for your upgrade. You will have reasons to remember this advice in the future.

Sapiosexuality:
Exactly what I will do. I will sell it. I'm getting panels first. Then inverter and battery.

guess my question was not clear I have both, the charge controller and inverter,
inverter has grid input and can charge the batteries , the charge controller is also charging the same batteries ,
what I am trying to achieve is connecting both through the provided com port and synch the charging such that my batteries do not get over charged due to multiple sources connected to them

Still popular because most new users don't know better, sellers offload what they have in store, most installers are quacks unwilling to update themselves or trouble shoot problems, common/cheap inverter clones in the market don't have a lithium profile etc etc.

Lack of a Lithium profile/modifiable LVD in older inverters is a big issue for those moving into Lithium from Lead acid. Once the BMS on the Lithium kicks in, the inverter and the CC shut down, AND WILL NOT COME BACK AGAIN UNLESS THE BATTERY BMS IS MANUALLY REBOOTED.
This meant that since most Ccs derive power from the battery (rather than solar input like some new Felicity CCs), no charging takes place!!
in the meanwhile the CC and some inverters would have lost all settings you modified on it , reverting to factory settings!

We have found a way round that though; just parallel any old set of Lead acid batteries (once they can still hold a little charge) and this ensures that even if the BMS LVD trips, the CC and inverter still has power and will start charging once power is available from the grid or sun comes up in the morning. At about 11.5v, 23v or 46v or thereby, the BMS is triggered on and the Lithium begins to charge. What happens to the Lead acid? Nothing much, just continues in its pathway of getting old. Lithium nko? the BMS takes the brunt of being used as a LVD but at least the user can benefit from the tremendous beauty of fast charging-load carrying capability of Lithium.
My experience: Third year of such use, no issues whatsoever.

Obnoxious2001:
The way this thread dey take drag down lead batteries grin grin grin.

Not everyone starting up in solar can afford to buy lithium battery at the initial stage.

Take it or leave it, lead acid batteries has more economical value.
It's cheaper, if it has served you finish, it can be recycled and you get your small cash back.

Tubular is flooding Nigerian market because they are cheaper.
Mind you depending on how you use your lead battery, they can do up to 5yrs

Before you sell 1 lithium who dey sell tubular don sell 15pcs grin grin grin grin
There is a market they are aimed for.

HealthRe: Real Life Lessons I Learnt From An Injury I Had 6 Years Ago, But Treating Today. by durodee(m): 11:26pm On Mar 01, 2024
EmekaStanley:
Around middle of November 2018, I had an accident with a scooter I had bought to ease my transportation to and from Apapa where Givanas, a company I worked with at that time is situated.

The scooter was a life saver for me considering the state of Apapa road at that time.

As a result of the accident which was as a collision with a distant-minded person crossing the road, I fractured my radius, had deep scratches on my shoulder and face.

I was rushed to a local orthopedic who wore me a cast on my arm to immobilize it.

At that time, I was actively seeking to leave Givanas, so I saw Jagal vacancy for the post of a ‘buyer’. I took the test online, scored high and was invited for a face to face interview.

While at home taking some off days due to the injury, I attended Jagal interview with the cast and injury marks on my face.

I arrived Ikoyi, the headquarters of Jagal, met Ian Moodley, the then Group Supply Chain Manager, who was to interview me.

Ian Moodley looked beyond my injuries, interviewed me properly and told me he was going to hire me, and he did.

He just referred me to the Group HR then, Daniel Ayscough to formalize it.

By the end of that day, I received an official email from Daniel informing me that I have been hired, and asked me to resume by the second week of January, which was enough time for me to notify Givanas that I was quitting.

I immediately sent an email to Givanas informing them of my resignation, went to work few times with the injury and that was it.

There are lots of things I could pull out from this writeup including Jagal's penchant for recognizing talent irrespective of a physical condition that some employers could use as an excuse not to hire someone or my own part of not being discouraged to attend the interview because of my injury.

Now, here is the purpose of this write up.

I was supposed to carry that cast for at least 2 months or even more than, to enable my radius heal well but I removed it the week I resumed at Jagal.

Almost 6 years down the line, close to 4 years after I left Jagal, I have to wear the cast again for that same injury I had.

Apparently the bone joined but didn’t heal properly. All the pains that I should have borne 6 years ago, I am bearing some of them now.

Surprisingly, throughout that time, I was carrying weights at the gym, though I noticed that there was a particular gym programme (which was my favorite) that I couldn’t do without pains in the arm.

That was when I got convinced that my arm has not healed completely.

Today, anytime I go for massage of the arm, I feel real pain, and thoughts keep running through my mind. But, I have serious life lessons I have learnt from this.

One: There is no shortcut to healing. The only exception here is if it is a miracle because I believe in miracles.

If you are meant to receive a particular treatment routine, please stick to your treatment until you are healed completely, confirmed by qualified personnel.

If you abandon your treatment, there’s a high chance you’ll meet the ailment in the nearest future. It could be a form of relapse or something.

Two: Do not postpone pains. Pains are part of living, and every stage of life seems to have its own pains or place of discomfort. Sometimes it could be a form of progress. Unless that, do not postpone pains, they have a way of coming back.

It could have been better for me if I had borne all these massage and cast pains 6 years ago than now. I mean, it is a distraction for me at the moment.

Thirdly but not the least, your health is more important than any job. Take care of yourself.

In any job, no one is irreplaceable. Even the business collapsing due to your absence could be a way of your replacement in the grand scheme of things.

Finally, life is beautiful, I personally don’t want to be dealing with things I should have dealt with years ago, No I don't.

Do you?

ES
Nice write up. Are you being treated properly now for the malunion or non union? The bandage I saw does not in any way show the proper way such old injury should be treated. Otherwise, ........we will hear chapter 3 of this story .

Read up a bit on what you wish to accomplish and then use this calculator. https://www.fabhabs.com/dc-cable-sizing-calculator Note that your cable size depends on how you may wish to couple the extra panel. In series or in parallel

I bought a rated 5.5 KVA 24v to serve a very unique need. It is not hybrid and seems light in weight for the said capacity. I wanted an inverter to carry my ACsx2 plus other domestic load during festivities when the whole house is full and there are many things going on at the same time. Obviously that will include fridge, washing machine and 1HP pumping machine. It has served the purpose well with no issues. I also use it a few times to charge my system with the national grid as I found it less sensitive to voltage fluctuations. ( I use a Servo stabilizer before inputting to the inverter)
For my regular use I have a 3.5kva 24v Foresolar inverter. Can carry fridge and washing machine but NOT the pumping machine with other loads.
adibo:
Good morning. Pls, how many kva did you buy? Also, is it hybrid or the normal one? Lastly, do you know if it can take fridge and washing machine?

Kool temper, I be user no be dealer. Not all inverter users can buy premium.
I buy and use inverters based on how much it costs to provide service for me. If I buy an inverter for 600k and it lasts 6 years and I buy another one for 200k and it lasts 2 years, then I cannot see the superiority of one over the other. From the business end, I will go for the 200k one and preserve my cash flow.
That is me sha.

I initially thought my YOHAKO inverter was dumb too until i experimented a bit with it. By pressing down on the ESC and ENTER button together for about 3 seconds, you will enter an interface requesting for password. Generic password is 12345. You will then enter advance settings where you can modify quite a lot of settings including LVD etc

Interestingly, another Chinko inverter I saw somewhere ( i think Kartel?) has exactly the same MO

i really really dont understand your logic.....
innovation is the lifeblood of the world
as per inverter&batteries india is like nokia, .... they refused to evolve and switch to android, but choose to stick to the old symbian OS......and the world left them behind...

indian inverter and battery makers are still stuck in the past, they have refused to evolve and innovate...still churning out rubbish in 2024!!!.

take luminous for instance--- the produce flooded batterys that they themselves know requires 14.7volt bulk and 13.8volt float and periodic/monthly desulphation at 15.5volt for 4hrs, yet they design/produce inverters that output only 14.4volt bulk and 13.5volt float, has no periodic equalization function whatsoever....they also use a useless fixed LVD of 10.5v which at that voltage the battery is irreversibly damaged as well
whats really is their aim for this bad/destructive design philosophyhuh??, which they have stubbornly refused to change/upgrade for more than 15yrs now, ....na only them sabi

..i call this stone age design or design to fail. same people u are prasing & defendinghuh huh huh huh

anybody still buying any luminous inverter and their likes in this day and age is largely ignorant or not well informed

Two possibilities: undercharged or overcharged battery. When the system switches off will let you know. If at night; low voltage be that. If during the day, high voltage from the battery triggered an overvoltage disconnect in the inverter.
Part of that is if the Cc is just overcharging!!

As a landlord, I WILL NEVER EVER ALLOW A TENANT TO PUT PANELS ON MY ROOF. I REPEAT:NEVER EVER. The chances of a mistake along the path of installation or removal is so high that the risk is not worth it. Ten years rent can barely reroof a building at current prices/value obtained.
When he/she builts then he/she can place on his/her roof.
I will however not obstruct any form of land based structure as long as you promise to ensure my building is back in shape when you leave.

my issue with Lithium dealers is, most are rubbish. Not to talk of the fact you guys seem to be advocating Lithium as if there weren't other battery chemisteries before Lithium was found.

and what makes you think it's every battery that goes bad or need be changed within 2 to 3 years.
As I have often said: your battery choice is your choice, the advice given is for those who are yet to chose or open to further consideration.
I started using Lithium in 2020. I have 7 different battery packs now including Pylon Tech US 3000, 5 locally assembled lithium pack with varying capacity from 3-7.5kw and a Felicity 15kw pack. I am a realistic hobbyist. What works is what works. Prior to that I had more than 11 years experience of LA ( from AGM to tubular) . I still have some LA in service- total of 6 200amps 12vs, but likely NOT to procure new ones as I have stated earlier last year or so.
The only common LA variant I have not used are the low volts high amps variant. When I recommended lithium, it was born from usage and reality. I do not hate any battery chemistry neither am I a seller or agent for anyone.
I strongly believe in using a battery chemistry personally before commenting on it. So I experiment a lot and form my own opinion. I still recommend LA for many small setups ( more like use and discard kind of, if your load is indeed small ) but ANYBODY with growing or heavy need is better of with Lithium from the onset. Why buy a motorcycle if you have 6 children?
The sad reality is that most LA brands in Nigeria are from India or China and are expected to be cycled about 700 times in their lifetime. A battery’s cycle life is how many times it can perform a full charge and discharge cycle. Please how many years is that if a battery is cycled daily?

How much is medium grade Lead Acid battery now? Most 5KVa and above inverters come as 48v ; so he will need 4 as minimum. And he should be ready to buy another set in 2-3 years depending on how much he cycles the battery.
I am aware that he can spend withing his budget and get a decent setup, but lithium battery afford future expansion and cater also for unpredictable usage and large power draw.

@fan issue:
I noticed that from the onset with the very first one I bought.( I now have many- some with and some without the problem)
The problem can be found within the plastic cup directly on top of the fan facing down. There is a cable there that gets occasionally entangled as the fan wants to rotate back. So the fan with try that direction about twice and if still obstructed, it will just go back to the previous way. You can always find a way of partially securing the wire and then replace the cup and the problem should be solved. Unless the recurrent entanglement has caused a problem already.
I hope you have noticed that the clockwise spinning gives indirect wind supply and the anticlockwise gives the direct and best supply at any speed?
