There are too many stories about when the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back. Shall we ensure we live a life in regular obedience to God and continual faithfulness to His word. Why are we looking for the date? If you are living right always; then the date He comes does not matter to you. Don't live for yourself now and think you will change quickly if you have an idea of the time of His coming. He said NO MAN knows the day and hour when He will come except God the Father. Know that you either go to meet him through death or He comes to meet you. I stopped looking for story of apparitions because it is not necessary for anyone living to please God always. You cannot cheat God. If you love him keep His commandments. And fellow Nigerians, we need to put our country in order- do the right thing instead of looking for a way of escape through the rapture. Jesus will not 'rush down' to the world because of Nigeria. He is coming for the whole world at the time 'appointed' by God. Shall we please find and pursue solutions to what is making life miserable to most Nigerians while we keep living right before God always!! |
God2man: I watched it last year, it was heart rending and fearful, everything Pastor Abraham said about making heaven is in harmony with what Jesus said that strive ye to enter into the strait gate, many will try to enter, but they will not be able to enter. Another scripture also mentioned that if the righteous are scarcely saved, what will be the lot of the sinners. Many are called few are chosen. Only few people, find the narrow way. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of living God.I watched it and also analysed it. Some part of this man's story contradicts the scripture. He said after passing through the narrow way, you will go through about 15rooms from where you will be judged again and can be sent to hell from any of those stages. Even after walking briefly on the path of gold a sieter that have committed abortion was shredded into pieces and became joined together again before been whisked to hell. This is unscriptural. If you are able to pass through the narrow way (that leads to life) there is no more condemnation for you. On this basis I doubt the genuinesness of this 'vision' However there is heaven (where God resides) and Hell (originally prepared for the devil and his co-rebellous angels) The spirit of any man that dies now will either go to heaven or hell (awaiting the final judgement- akin to our 'remand' on earth). The final end of the rebellious creatures - man, nagels and Satan is lake of fire. Both lake of fire and heaven are God's properties. Neither belong to satan. Lake of fire is as prison is on the earth where criminal citizens/inhabitants are kept from the free world. However residency in either heaven or lake of fire will be forever ar the inhabitants are either never-dying angels or ressurrected humans. Unbelief about their existence will not change their status. Our responsibility here is to make our choice. Where will you spend your eternity- Heaven or hell. |
@Kenny888. yes, Wedding ring is not in the bible but the bible is not against is either. Why because it has a purpose- 'wedding' ring. Not everything we use/do today is commanded in the scripture, but some are permissible as long as they do not contradict the scripture. Well I do not use wedding ring though. |
I personally have some questions about tithing as been demanded/preached by most preachers today. While it is a good thing to 'give' as Jesus commanded, there was no established percentage of how much of our income to give especially when it concern the gentile christians. The Jews have a reason for tithing as commanded by God- the 12 tribes were to pay 10percents to God (to be inherited by the Levites who had no share of the land given the whole nation). This is reasonable as the Levites were to be the priests doing service in the religious centres according to the law. Abraham paid tithe of the loot of war to Melchizedec- the priest of the most high; but there was no record of when and to who he paid tithes of his regular profits from his occupation. Jacob paid tithes voluntarily as a vow ('when I returned from my journey I will give a tenth to thee') but this was 14years after he made the vow. There was no record of his tithing while in Laban's house. How will the church meet it's financial needs? The members of the new testament church gave voluntarily to God ranging from small percentage to almost 100% without the Apostles preaching a whole day's sermon on it. A believer who appreciate God's giving of his only Son for his redemption will not withold his material resources to take care of God's earthly project. However while tithing is good, there is no binding law on the non-Jewish Christians to pay it in the old and new testaments. A christian believer can give as much as 100% if he so desire but willingly and cheerfully. But remember that if you do not take care of the need of your household you are worse than an infidel and has denied the faith. We should give to God (or the church) not minding what and how it is been spent- God will judge the individuals on the last day. But give by faith and not to please your Pastor and do not use God as a lottery- if I give 1 naira God will give me 1000naira. He is faithful to bless you but give out of love for Him and not necessarily to buy Him over. |
@Obazuwa. According to the teaching of the Bible, entering heaven is based purely on what Jesu Christ have done and not on what good an indidual does or how much of the law he keeps. However an individual can miss heaven by what he/she does or does not do. Not using jewelry of any sort will not make one to miss heaven. But there are instances in the scripture where jewelry became an idol to people of God and God asked them to remove them or they removed them themselves when invited by God for worship. read Exodus 33 (Israel and the goden calf), Gen 35(Jacob going to Bethel). Why there may not be a clear cut law forbidding jewelry in the new testament; it can come under the group of sins referred to as 'worldliness'. I wonder if the thief on the cross was wearing any jewelry before he was forgiven!!. I do not use jewelry with my entire household because I found no Godly purpose for it, but I am careful at condemning others if they use it because of the reason above and since I am not the one that will sit on the Great white throne to judge on the last days. However because of the propensity of becoming a source of worldliness and idol, i will counsel a heavenly minded Christian to avoid using ornament/jewelry on their body apart from 'wedding ring' |
Corruption in Nigeria is not only in the government circle. It is rife among the populace too- in the religious, traditional and every nooks and cranny of the country; from a messenger in the office to the police on the street- Every where!!. Your suggested solution will bring about unfairness in the distribution of justice and because of this remove execution out of it. Let's just recover whatever have been stolen with/without interest, shame those in political office involve by awarding them national dishonours, strip them of any national honour like OON, CON GCON etc and banned them and their grown up children from holding political offices for at least 3 generations. |
Suggested steps to solving Nigeria's numerous problems: 1. Make the vote/voice of the electorates count. End 'godfatherism' in the choice of political leaders- let leaders be chosen based on their programs and thereafter be accountable to the people/electorates and not to 'godfathers' 2. Devolve most developmental responsibilities and powers to the federating units and leave only the issues that unite us as a country to Abuja. Devolve the resourses commensurate to these responsibilities to the federating units. 3. Reduce political over-head eating our resources by reducing the number of federating units from 36 to much fewer numbers. States structure should collapse together into bigger federating units while retaining the present state administratiion to a regional ministerial administration (akin to Niger delta ministry) instead of numerous judiciary, legislature and executive arms. Any revolution (not bloodshed) that will carry out this should receive the support of Nigerians. Enough of talks, lets do something and that very quickly. . |
@Mudley313 Racism is about disrimination on the basis of race while religion is based on ones beliefs. They are completely different. God who created heaven and earth has the right to make rule for the inhabitants. If a landlord is empowered by law to decide his terms of letting out his property to a tenant so much more God. He reserve the RIGHT to decide who lives in what area and He is fair enough to give the small area he gave the children of Abraham His friend and allowing others to occupy huge ares like Nigeria, america, Asia etc even when our fore fathers do not believe in him- idol worshippers. He is fair to purnish the Jews for following other gods by allowing those calamities fall on them right from the Bible days just because they saw His works among them; while he was long suffering to the non-jews who regular do worse things than the Jews. He has also reserve a 'day'in which He will judge the whole world in righteousness by that man whom he had ordained- Jesus Christ and had given assurance of this to us by raising him (Jesus) from death. God reserve the right to judge too and our unbelief cannot strip Him of that right and power. Rather than allowing Satan to paint God in a bad light to you, better look at it in a simple way. If God is God and the creator, He deserve our honour, worship and obedience to His words. If you decide to drive out a your tenant that broke the terms of tenancy out of ur property, is that racism or religious bigotry? So if God devcide to wipe every human from the surface of the earth for breaking the terms of our living, will he be unfair? NO. So it's either we obey Him or face the consequences of our disobedience. |
@JohnDoe200 Your experiences may be true but your conclusions are not scientific enough. Why? Nigerian population is over 140million and you had close personal contacts with less than 100 probably in the same geographic area. Statistically your sample size is not significant enough for you to generalize ur conclusion for the whole population. As for the so called 'Nigerian factor', it is rather a human factor but made more prominent in Nigeria because we do not have a 'working' legal system. The whites even in first world, in fact every human being given the prevailing condition in Nigeria will probably behave worse than an average church-goer in Nigeria. Religion have helped Nigeria to even remain a bit better, otherwise you would have witnessed more depravity of the fallen man if there was no religion in Nigeria with an incompetent legal/civil rule. As for going to heaven: no human being will go to heaven because of his/her works. Salvation is a free gift paid for by God through the sacrifice of Jesus the Messiah. Acceptance of this gift by faith will only make available to you grace to live in obedience to God's laws. You will not automatically be stripped of your human nature or natural tendency. You will still retain the capacity to lie, kill, steal, fornicate, and do other vices if you submit your will to do any of these. That is why Jesus said to those who believe on him 'if you CONTINUE in my word, then are you my disciples indeed, ' You still have the power of your will to decide who you obey- the devil or God. However you will have the grace of God available to you to live above sins if you so desire. About making heaven as a Nigerian: honestly speaking, the system in nigeria will make a lot of 'born agains' miss heaven who would have not miss it if they were living in places where there is rule of law and responsible leadership (both civil and religious leadership). Why? Most business transactions in Nigeria including contract, employment, even admission to schools involve sinful practices like bribery, nepotism, dishonesty, lying etc otherwise a truthful person may not be able to get any means of livelihood. Unfortunately it's getting worse and now it is the survival of the 'fittest' I can go on and on. But many 'born again' residents of Nigeria can still make it to God's kingdom if they are ready to suffer, rely on God, remove their eyes from the ambition to be vey rich thru short cuts and be honest enough, and if they don't act as if God is stupid etc |
@De genius: Where you have quoted is part of the Holy Bible and it is written from inspiration too. However, it was a conversation between married man and woman and NOT between a man and another man's wife or between two unmarried persons. Sexual intercourse and marriage between a man and a woman were created by God himself. And as God put in a normal man or woman the sense of thirst, hunger and other feelings, so He put in us the desire for relationship between a man and woman. God also put a regulation on the way we satisfy this feeling by restricting it to the marriage relationship. It is very unfortunate for people like De Genius to be picking out this passage to paint the Bible as immoral when every book of the bible including Proverb spoke against fornication, adultery and homosexuality. If De Genius truly wants salvation, my counsel to him is to seek the God revealed to humanity in the Bible, because there is no salvation in any other. Fortunately, the god revealed in the Koran is different from the God of the Bible. |
@Parish10: Your write up is interesting. Let me however remind u that No man is saved by how much tithe or offering he gives or how much charitable activities he/she engages in. Our self righteousness is like a filthy rag before God. For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Salvation is a gift and so you do not pay for it and no one can boast about it. Jesus Christ paid the price for the Redemption of mankind. That is why those who don't believe are condemned already- inspite of their good works. However as long as a man is still alive, he/she can get this gift by faith even in his/her dying minute- if he/she is in the right mind to take a decision. Though God called people to work in His 'vineyard', those that appeared prominent as 'leaders'- Pastors, Bishops, Prophets are not more important than those unknown cleaners, and others that men despises today. Many will be surprised in the last day. God also did not create our brain for decoration- He expect us to 'come now and REASON together', be diligent, STUDY to show yourself approved unto God etc. God is not expecting us to just open our hearts and swallowed every teachings that men give us. However our reasoning must not run contradictory to the revealed truth in God's word. The instructions in the bible do not need any special interpretation- most are literarily self explanatory. The things in the scripture that need some special understanding are the yet to be fulfilled prophecies in which symbols are used. Even then no one can claim 100% accuracy of interpretation until they are fulfilled. People should leave the 'popular 'men of God' and look into their own lives. Those 'men of God' too will stand before God on the judgement day. However we should not be stupid to allow anyone to exploit us in the name of God by 'forcing' or tongue twisting us to give what we are not freely giving from our hearts- these kinds of offerings or tithes will only be acceted by men without recognition from heaven. Let no man also think that God is a fool or a 'lotto' or money doubler. |
@GNBohr: The point you raised is good. But u need to first find out from the Bible what being a CHRISTIAN means. The name was first used by 'non-christians' at Antioch to describe the followers/believers in Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This name they applied to them because of who and what they preached, what they were doing and how they related among themselves. Assuming the word 'christian' do not exist before will you be able to call many of the acclaimed followers of Jesus Christ by that name -'christian'? The answer is it is unlikely that many in our generation and Nigeria in particular would have been called by that name if the people of Antioch were to watch them. Being a 'christian' in the real sense of the word is not just preaching about Jesus Christ or attending a 'church' or claiming to be one. Nevertheless the foundation of God stand sure; the Lord knows them that are His, and let everyone that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. Till the end of the world, what u observed will continue as long as men are given the freedom of religion. The practices of the CAtholic church that people like Martin Luther protested against are still on till today, so also some errors introduced into the christian faith by many so called denominations; and so 'disunity' will still continue. The interesting thing is that as many as have PERSONAL relationship with Jesus christ by repentance and faith in Him as the Lamb of God and the Redeemer will always feel the sense of unity within themselves- for by ONE SPIRIT are we all baptized into Christ, ONE Body, ONE Faith, ONE LORD, ONE GOD, ONE Baptism, despite what obtained among the leadership of the various denominations. |
I hav not read his speech, but I read what he said about governors colluding with electoral officers to rig election. Why is it now that he is revealing it having been a beneficiary for 8years? Did he steal any public money while a governor for those years? Can he assure us that he did not steal or has he declared and returned all stolen money? And what is his vision for Nigeria? When we vote in UK, we choose based on what the person has to offer the country not whether he was good before or whether he is a fine man. Nigeria is old enough to make choices not based on the useless 'zoning', ethnic or religious sentiments, but strictly on what the contestants have to offer and how reliable he is to do what he desire to do. |
Please we need a President with a vision that will make him to desire to be a President not just someone that people will be pressurising to come and contest because of being in a vantage position to clinch it. I personally like Jonathan, but he will need to show us the desire to remain in office after 2011 and share with Nigerians his dream for Nigeria. Among the old rulers it's only Buhari that could be given a chance. Inspite of this we need to know their manifestoes/dreams. Only God knows when Nigerians will start making the choices of who rule them based on what the contestants have to offer the country and not based on 'oportunity to be there', influence of money bags, ethnic and religious sentiments. |
@Moves. I agree with you, if Ribadu wants to contest, they should make Pat Utomi/Donald Duke his running mate. But we need to know what their manifestoes are, because it's not their personalities we want to 'chop', but what they have to offer. Ribadu may be popular but that does not mean he will be a good President. We know Pat utomi had attempted to contest in the past. Do they have a vision of their own that will make them to desire to be the President or just an opportunity by AC to exploit the anticipated division in PDP? I don't think we need to get our President that way. We need a President that will come out with a 'dream'--'I have a dream' No the one a political godfather will just 'put 'am there' |
Jesus Christ is Man and God. Before he was born, he has been- as the Word of God= God. The word became flesh, having emptied himself of all that made him God (voluntarily- Phil 2) and became a mere man- subject to all that man is subject to. After his ressurrection he went back to his original glory on the right hand of God the father, this time in his glorified human body. When he is coming back the second time, he will come as the Word of God (see Revelation), but not to be born as his first coming, but in his glorified human body to rule on the earth and pull down every rebellion against the rule of God on the earth. After accomplishing this and putting a final end to death, God will be all in all as it was before the fall of Lucifer. He (God-the Word) took on the human flesh because he was meant to be the atoning sacrifice for human being who fell to the deceit of Satan. Beside God there is no saviour. As God in His divine form cannot shed blood for man and as there is no man that could satisfy divine justice in the redemption of humanity, coupled with the fact that no animal's life is equal to that of man, God has to come in the human body (incarnate) called the Son of God, to taste death (penalty of sin) for every man. As the cause of death was as a result of one (first Adam) man's disobedience, so the restoration of the lost life has to come by one (last Adam=Jesus Christ) man's obedience. You can access this redemption by keying in by faith into what God had accomplished in Christ Jesus- no matter what religion you practice. Then you can receive the GIFT of ETERNAL LIFE with God that will manifest fully at the time of ReStoration of ALL Things (to what it was before the rebellion of Lucifer) |
The time is not short to compile a new voters register if the govt of Goodluck is sincere in what they have been saying about free and fair election. What we need is the cash (we can even borrow if we don't have now or buy the machines or gadgets on credit from the manufacturers). If we traverse the whole world we will get the required numbers. I want to beg INEC to also register those of us in the diaspora and allow us to vote even if our votes will not be used in Nigeria. At least it will serve as shodow votes. NIGERIANS MUST NOT ACCEPT ANY EXCUSE FROM ANYONE ABOUT WHY A NEW REGISTER CANNOT BE COMPILED. Jega should honourably resign if he is sure he is not getting the necessary cooperatoon from the govt. Then the country will have the opportunity to split into fragments as advised by Gaddafi, come May 2011. I HOPE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ANYWAY. I like the only popular name the world know us for 'THE MOST POPULOUS BLACK NATION IN THE WORLD' ![]() |
iF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY LIKE THEY CAN MAKE EACH LOCAL GOVT A STATE. I can only support more state if they will ensure each state control and generate its resources without allocation from Abuja. State creation is just JOB creation for politicians. Let states generate their own fund to run their affairs, then the National assembly will start talking of state merging. It's unfortunate that we still have this set of politicians ruling in Nigeria. The states we need are- Yoruba state, Lagos state, Hausa/fulani state, Ibo State, Ijaw state, south-south (other southern tribes), Midwest (Edo and Delta), Kanuri state, North central(Kaduna, benue, Non-yoruba in kwara and Kogi), North East(others apart from Kanuris), North west (other non-hausas in the north west), Abuja state (lagos and Abuja being former and present capital retain the status as every Nigerians land). BUT THE ABOVE WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE DESPITE THE SUGGESTION OF PA ENAHORO'S MNR !!. |
If INEC refused to update the voters register by removing the fake names and names of those who are dead, and registering those who have attained the voting age since the last voters register review, the people should make sure the election does not hold. NYSC members should not partake in the electoral process, the people should not allow any election to hold. Simple. BUT IAM SURE THE HUNGRY NYSC WILL NOT HEED TO MY ADVICE AND THE SUPERSTITIOUS NIGERIANS WILL SAY THAT IF IT'S GOD'S WILL JEGA WILL UPDATE THE VOTERS REGISTER. |
If what is written here is the truth, then we southerners need to do something- teach this as a part of the compulsory topic in the southern schools so that our children will know what their fathers have suffered. Then we will have to help the north to secceed according to their original plan. Oh that they had succeeded to secceed then. |
I will answer the question as if I am a military ruler that can just do things by decree because being a President for 48hrs, I will not be able to do anything. I will still be busy looking around ASo Rock villa and having a 'honey moon' of rest after the election. But as a dictator, in 48hrs: I will 1. Dissolve the states as they are at present 2. Restructure Nigeria into regions- 6-8, federating units in a united indivisible country. 3. Make each regions to start formulating their own constitution that will make them semi autonomous (not confederacy though) 4. Start a process of making a new constitution for Nigeria- possible Name changed to Federating Republics of Nigeria 5. Regions/federating units to control every resources generated onshore and send 20% to the centre after 2yrs, Centre will have full control over Defence (Army, Navy, Airforce) and Customs and offshore resources. 6. Federal govt hands off completely everything about local govt affairs- that becomes the sole responsibility of the federating units who can create and fund as many as they want. 7. Allocation will be between federal and state govt with immediate effect. Then no allocation from Abuja after 2years. 8. A transitional govt to start these program with immediate effect. 9. Federal govt will only act a a standardizing agent in eucation, health, infrastructural development- setting minimum standard, though can still invest in those areas too. 10. Constitution to establish the post of a President, 1st and 2nd Vice president each for Northern and southern protectorates. 11. Presidency to rotate between North and south after every 2 terms. |
Yes private sector are involved more in the development of those countries. But the govt made it easy for them to operate. Our govt will like to dierectly control the flow of investment, control land and sea even wants to single handedly control peoples lives. They make very policy to frustrate the private sectors- especially indigenous ones while they open our economy for the importation of almost everything so as to be in the good book of the imperialis western world. When we have patriotic people in govt, then we can start talking of good governance. Why do our leaders run to USA, UK to have a meeting with their leaders immediately they get to power? Have they seen an American President or UK PM running to Nigeria as soon as they get to office? We even beg them to pls remember to visit us on ur tour around the world. Nigeria- the largest concentration of the blacks on earth is a big disappointment to heaven and the black race. We have lost confidence in our ability to be great by our own initiative. If we put our house in order, all these developed countries will be the ones coming to seek investment opportunities in our country. We can still make use of their technological advancement without we playing the servants to a master relationship with them. |
The fight against corruption can then be fought mainly at the level of each federating units instead of Abuja being the one primarily fighting corruption. We will deal with our governor/ local govt chairman by ourself. Abuja will also lose the power to persecute any federating units like OBJ did to Tinubu. The local people should be able to ask their local govt, state govt to account for the money generated and how it's being spent. The govts in turn will not be able to give excuse of not getting allocation from Abuja to cover up. Each federating units will also be able to determine its own developmental needs as it obtained in the first republic. Abuja too will not be very attractive to the thieving politicians fighting over the affairs of their pockets in the name of zoning and hypocritical proclaimed desire to help better the lots of the masses. BUT I KNOW ALL THESE IS NOT POSSIBLE IN NIGERIA EXCEPT THEIR IS AN ARMED REVOLUTION WHO IS READY TO DO THE RIGHT THING. The politicians will do everything to saveguard their source of income which is looting govt treasury in the name of siphoning allocations, inflated contracts, nepotism etc. |
The present 36 states and the new ones the politicians are planning to create are just job creation for politicians. With more governors over states who cannot sustain themselves economically, more commissioners post and several others will be created and more resources spent on oiling the machinery of govt instead of creating jobs for the masses. I will support a President who will take steps to reduce the number of states by merging contiguous, ethnically homogenous ones that are not able to sustain themselves economically with locally generated revenues. We may be able to do with Lagos state, western state (all other states in the west), Niger delta (rivers, bayelsa, akwa ibom, cross river), midwestern (Delta and Edo), North west, North central, North East as federating units. Each ethnic groups could be accommodated with own local govt areas, e.g Egba, Ijebu, etc local govts. Each mini- ethnic group could be made into a constituency etc. The big federating units can then decide if to create another one from them by consideriing the economic viability and not political influence or military fiat as it is today. |
I cannot decide until I know what their programs are. What is Goodluck's manifesto? Electricity, good roads, jobs, security etc? Nigerians may never learn. All these are the symptoms of our main disease which is imperfect federation which needs to be corrected first. Yes any serious govt may be able to provide electricity etc but one main problem is maintenance and preventing the greedy hawks from taking us back to square 1. I will vote for whoever is willing to get us back to true federalism where the federating units are the one to give share of their resources to the centre, have the full control over their land area, constitutionally empowered to govern the affairs of the local govt, generate and distribute own electricity, provide education, health, jobs for their inahbitants, the chief security officers (governors) heading their own security council- sate/regional police, more accoutable to their own people instead of being accountable to Abuja etc. |
I have not read all the post on this topic, but the question showed some ignorance. This person assumed the earth was inhabited as it is today with almost human beings on every continent and islands. This is a wrong assumption because the population of the present specie of homosapiens have been increasing gradually up to the number now and it is migration that made various places inhabited. Remember even after Noah's flood humans under Nimrod still did not want to scatter, instead they were building a tower of Babel so that everyone can stay together. It will be unneccessary to cover the whole planet earth with water if the same thing can be done only to wipe out the people confined to a particular Island/location for example. Aside, there was no record of God asking animals inside whose natural habitat is water to be taken into Noah's ark (that alone would have killed the animal like Whales). The Bible says, all living creeping on the face of the earth was killed. The Bible in several places used the world earth to mean a locality in the planet earth especially land rather than the whole planet earth. Whatever record there is in KOran ( Koran was written over 600years after the event in the book of Revelation-last book in the Bible) does not make Koran a more accurate religious book. Rather many historical report in the bible were copied into the Koran with some manipulated to suit the view of the Ismaelites/Arabs. THERE IS NO BOOK ON EARTH ANYONE CAN COMPARE WITH THE HOLY BIBLE. |
This newspaper report is not a direct refuttal of the grave allegations/revelations/lies the so called Erelu Agbaye made regarding the musicians, Pastors and Politicians and even traditional rulers. While her comportment in the so called CD where she made the confessions is not reflective of a mature believers, there is no curse she gave there that is not common on many pulpits today. The refuttal should not just be on the pages of newspaper but must be after a thorough unbiased investigations. That is some area where Erelu agbaye alleged things were buried should be dugged, some events where she claimed she met Reinhard Bonnke and someone oin a TV station should be verified. If found to be false she should be prosecuted accordingly and made to pay for the reconstruction of any damaged property. If found to be true then the people mentioned should be prosecuted accordingly no matter how powerful they may be. Enough of all this sweeping important matters under the carpet. |
Well I don't know about the Pastor Poju Oyemade, but I will advise him to be careful of all these people praising him. I hope the messages are not the one that pleases men and not God? |
People seems to think a church belongs to an individual. Even if the GO/GS/Pastor incharge is the 'founder', only one person does not make or own a church. Except the money donated by these men are identified with them e.g in form of payment by cheque; and if they specifically confessed that the money is not from their rightful earnings, it is then the church (not Adeboye/Chris or any individual) may be obliged to refund it to whoever the givers identify as the proper owner. |
This question will be better restricted to Pastor Nigeria. i.e does a Pastor in Nigeria NEED a private Jet?If it's need then the most likely correct answer will be a resounding NO. But they have not committed a sin by having a Private Jet. If the Pastor purchased the Private Jet from his own (or family) hard earned money and seeks to maintain it personally, then he is free to do that. But in a country like Nigeria with high unemployment rate, high poverty level etc it will not be better if he does not spend such money on a private jet. Unfortunately, the rumour going around is that those with the private Jet might have purchased them through other people contribution and possibly maintained the Jets with others money. It will be 'embarrassing' to the Lord if the Tithes and offerings' were spend on this in Naija or if the poor members were levied- either indirectly by motivational sermons on giving or directly not to talk of using stolen public fund given by church members (that in the heart of the 'man of God' is unexplainable by the regular income of such contributors) to purchase and maintain them. If Paul, Peter, etc were here would they have spend the church money on Jets? How come we did not read about the Donkeys, horses, ship they bought to facilitate their evangestic outreaches. Men and Brethren, let no man DECEIVE YOU. PRIVATE JETS LOOKS LIKE THE MANIFESTATION OF CLASS EGO COMMON AMONG THE RICH IN NAIJA WHICH UNFORTUNATELY HAVE ENTERED INTO THE CHURCH. |
@t.Truth If u don't understand why people 'villify' TB Joshua, I pray God gives u the understanding. Are you a Christian- I mean 'born again'? If u are the Holy Spirit will give u some discernment to identify false prophets like TB Joshua. Fortelling future events that got fulfilled accurately does not make such forteller as a true prophet. And making prediction that did not happen does not automatically make such person a false prophet. The Holy Spirit filled men that are prophets are not empowered to be giving prophecies on football, death of this or that- those can be done by herbalists too. Search the scripture and see that no true prophets of Jehovah ever bother themselves with predicting events that are not of eternal value. Most of the self acclaimed or public acclaimed prophets in Nigeria are just after their own popularity and not after the advancement of the Kingdom of God. Definitely these 'prophets are not been moved by the Holy Ghost like the Biblical prophets of old. DON'T ALLOW THEM TO DECIEVE YOU, GO AND READ YOUR BIBLE AND STOP FOLLOWING FAKE PROPHETS UP AND DOWN. |
As per Yar adua's final destination, no man can tell because we do not have access to the record of his final moments on the earth. However Jesus said in the Bible ' for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. God did not send His Son to the world to condemn the world but that the world through him might be saved. Whosoever believes not in him (Jesus Christ) is condemned already, ' 'God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son Jesus Christ; whosoever has the Son has life but whosoever does not have the Son have NOT life' These words are either TRUE or FALSE. The salvation revealed in Christ Jesus is exclusive- i.e it does not give room for an alternative 'saviour' or part of salvation to human being. He said 'I am THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, NO man comes to the Father EXCEPT by me (Jesus). It's either TRUE and those who don't believe it perish or FALSE and those who believe it (including the Saviour himself) found to be liars. It's left for you to search the scripture with a honest heart that truly want to please God so that you can be saved. There is no need deceiving urself by putting on the garb of religion or deceptive arguements with a heart that is in love with what the Saviour referred to as sin. |
