yubiman: Hmm. I'll look into it. So between using a debrid service and VPN. Which is better? Debrid is better. The debrid service hosts the files on their servers, so you are simply streaming the files from direct links, not torrent anymore. You won't have issues with copyright holders. With VPN, on the hand, it still remains a torrent, which means, your streaming experience depends on the number of seeders the torrent file has and all of that. Moreover, VPN generally slows than a connection. |

yubiman: The funny thing is I don't download. I stream via stremio only and I've been streaming since I started using starlinks in June. Streaming and downloading torrents is the same thing. Since you are using Stremio, get a debrid service. |

yubiman: Omo, I got a message now that I downloaded or streamed copyrighted material. Copyright laws dey active in Nigeria? A couple of people have received same message in the past from Starlink. I think @ibawon also received same message sometime in the past. Just ignore it. Sometimes it's very possible that you were not the one that streamed or downloaded the torrent file. Starlink issues same ip address range for a number of customers, so when a copyright holder sends a complaint to them, Starlink forwards that complaint to all those who are in that range of IP. |

ChizzyBuna: Don't be Foolish
The EX hounduras president jailed for drug trafficking was pardoned because he agreed to help USA and snitch and give out sensitive information to US government to help them fight the drug cartels in Venezuela.
In USA if you are arrested for drug crime And you co operate and expose your gang location activity hide outs and other sensitive information. They will pardon or soften your jail term. Then go raid and arrest those hide outs you exposed.
He definitely snitched on Maduro Gave out sensitive hide outs in Venezuela That's why USA pardoned him and is going in guns blazing in Venezuela. You're waffling nonsense and you know it. |

Hullabaloon: For powering the ODU, can't I just plug it at one of the Ethernet ports at the back of the IDU? Since you have these devices in your possession, why haven't you tried doing it? As far as I know, the ZTE bundled IDU's Ethernet port is not POE capable, so it can't power up the ODU. |

geeetee: nah i dont think airtel has any fibre services in ngn There are quite a number of estates using it in Abuja, including Games village. Airtel came to my estate in November last year and shared expression of interest forms for us to fill. After filling it and submitted, we didn't hear from them again, little did we know that the exco of the estate informed them that we weren't interested in the service, same thing they said to MTN. I found out yesterday from an MTN staff. Though I will raise this issue in the next Estate meeting, because I don't understand why they're behaving like witches who don't want progress for the estate. |

Osyxcel: You’re good now, right?
I couldn’t attend to your request earlier ‘cos I was not around. I am good. Now worries at all. I understand. I went to their head office in Abuja and I was Informed that the Huawei ODU was never sent to their Abuja shops. I think the Huawei stock they got was very limited in quantity. What they have here is the ZLT. Though I was informed that they're in talks with Huawei to restock. |

nurez305: Like I was shocked. The swapped number does not belong to me which mean the owner of the number that was swapped we not be able to use his line again until he visited the Airtel office.
No wonder I use to see complaints from people on their X/twitter page that their SIM just stop working and they don't know the reason for that. This is actually what was always happening.
Imagine they mistakenly swap your SIM number to a fraudster, that mean all your money in your bank account would be gone within a minute and you will be wondering what is going on.
I asked the agent that, after he inputted the number on their system, didn't he see the name that pop up before swapping the SIM but he refused to answer the question.
Another red flag is that, they won't give you any form to filled atlease for record purposes, they just asked you for your number and that is it. Tell me how the real owner going to cleared himself that he didn't request for SIM swapped.... To be honest, this is just stupidity.
Finally, he did it again with the correct number and the SIM has started working now and the e-sim has stopped working.
But we are cooked in this country Indeed, it's a worrying situation. The fact that a customer's line can be swapped without his consent is very worrying, even with the introduction of NIN and all the restrictions. |
Phones › Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by dustmalik(m): 3:29pm On Nov 28, 2025 |
NSEstudent: I suppose they did fresh registration for him instead of a swap. If not, this is a major security breach - you are not supposed to be able to swap a sim you don't own. With the requirement of facial matching, name matching and NIN, those agents aren't supposed to able to swap a line that doesn't belong to the customer. I don't know about now, but I know those agents are not given bypass access. |

nurez305: I have seen the issue, the agent swap another number for me. My number ended with 39 but he ended it with 93 and that is the reason.
I was worried yesterday when the e-sim was still working after the swap, I know it should have stop working immediately the swap was initiated, irrespective of whether it was approved or decline, that should be a normal procedure incase of SIM theft etc Those agents can be quite unprofessional sometimes. Does the swapped number belong to you? |

nurez305: I think there is an issue with the physical SIM, let me explain.
This morning, I inserted the SIM inside a phone and I got a SIM swap success message which mean it now work fully. I tried calling with the SIM expecting to hear that I can't make call with it just like other router SIM, but the reverse was the case, the call features is working on it.
Back to the e-sim in my ODU router, the e-sim still work perfectly without an issue and I thought it would have been blocked for the physical SIM to start working, but NO, it is working 100%.
So I inserted the SIM into the ODU and change the SIM settings to physical, it shows network signal which mean it has detected the SIM inside but it does not browse. But when I change the SIM settings back to built-in-sim the internet started working.
And also it shows that the e-sim is also activated. What could be the issue here?
Does it mean the SIM swap was not properly swap to ODU SIM or what??
N.B: the swap was done at the Airtel office You may have to contact Airtel customer service and ask them to check on the system if the swap was successful. You can then proceed from there. |

Peterlove11: Which do you prefer Of course Starlink, as it's truly unlimited. No data cap, no speed cap. I have used up to 2.7TB in a month. I know someone that have used up to 11TB in a month. Whatever speed is available is what you get. Airtel ODU is a good backup for when Starlink is performing poorly, especially during the daytime. |

Tover: Lol...this speed is just a child's play for ppl using MTN fiber or starlink, , so don't think you are getting a good speed , Ur good speed is a fair speed to some people That's not the point of this conversation. We are talking about Airtel ODU's 50Mbps plan and its speed. I have been using Starlink since February 2023, currently using the Gen3 v4 system. Starlink can be quite slow and annoying sometimes, especially for those of us who live in Abuja or Lagos, as these two cities have reached capacity. that's why I got the Airtel ODU. Below is a speed test I just carried out on my Starlink. In the dead of the night, I get over 300 to 400Mbps.

I thought it will stop working immediately I did the swap?? Or is the guy not do it well?? The physical sim becomes active once the swap is passed. Until then, the Esim remains active. |

Is there a way to lock it like we do on 4G? For downloads, I get the full download speed when I stick it on 5G Only. Regarding locking it to 3G, I am not sure the option is there. I will check when I get home. |

Bayern have successfully used long balls to bypass our tight defense, that's where I see problems for us. I hope Arteta addresses that loophole. Calafiori would have been better at dealing with those long balls. If I were Arteta, I would bring in Cala. MLS can't deal with that. If Arteta doesn't take MLS off, we will lose this game. He simply can't handle Olise |
