You can say that again.. I have been getting constant after sale support since 2023 i bought directly from Starlink
.
My new Gen3 Kit will arrive between Nov 22-29
Since you are in Lagos, you will receive it on Monday, latest Tuesday. You will probably receive a notification on Monday morning that it has shipped.

Starlink now has Gen 3 stock in excess, even here in Nigeria.

I believe this should also work for the ZLT X25 and X25 pro as sold by both Airtel and MTN, just remove the Sim in it or disable esim and connect via lan cable, it's plug and play. Retains all wifi settings as previously used.

I have tried it with Starlink and it works flawlessly but not tried it with the Airtel ODUs.

Also of note is the old original MTN ZTE hynet flex router, works as well.

So options plenty for anyone have the old hardware laying around gathering dust.
I have not been able to find the connection mode settings on the X25. Please let me know if you do.

Oh yes. We now have Cat 6 router for the G5F ODU grin
My MC801A was lying useless. Now the MF296A will have to be the one sacrificed.

The install helper app really helped me get a good place to put the ODU for the strongest band in my location with poor network.
Yeah. Mine has also been lying around for a long time, now serving a purpose.

Locking has absolutely zilch to do with it. So it will work for you too.

It's almost plug and play but you have to do something first.

1. Remove any sim inside 801A and plug it in.
2. Connect to it via your pc or phone and login, usually through 192.168.0.1
3. Change current mode to cable broadband mode. It will ask you to select the LAN port which will act as WAN (ie the one you will plug the LAN cable from the ODU connection unit (the power bank)).
4. Connect everything as you would have done. You can power 801A with its own power bank or from the shared power bank, which is what I did to reduce number of cables and adapters.
5. When everything is connected, choose 'dynamic' as connection mode and you are good to go.

You don't have to do these the next time. Just remember the port you chose as WAN port.
Thanks, just got it working now, followed your exact procedure.

This worked, maybe because they are both ZTE devices. But I also think many of the regular 5G routers would work as IDU for these ODU/IDU pairs.
Was it just plug and play, or did you have to change any setting on the MTN ZTE MC801A? I have same ZTE MC801A from MTN, though still locked.

What about unactivated kits for over a year? Will they benefit if they activate/register their Starlink account? I mean it was never used since purchase last year.
Those ones don't count as they aren't even registered. Only those that have been dormant/inactive after cancellation for a period of time are eligible.

Oh ok.

Any idea the maximum number of devices that can be connected, and the cost for unlimited monthly sub?

Thanks baba.
It can take up to 64 devices. It consists of an ODU (Outdoor Unit) and an IDU (Indoor Unit). It costs 25k and bundled with a 50Mbps unlimited plan for 30days. After registration at the Airtel office, an installer is sent to install it at your house within 48hrs. After the first 30days, you can continue with the 25k for 50Mbps plan or you can opt in for the 45k for 100Mbps plan.

Lol.
As if I don't know.
In case you are wondering why I am praying it gets to my area.
I am alreafy planning to buy Starlink.

This of course is a far cheaper alternative.
No money to waste any how.
Alternatively, get the Airtel ODU device that comes with 50Mbps. It costs 25k.

MTN is already spending billions on fiber X, what will they need ODU for??... This ODU is more like advance router which still failed many time with inconsistent speed
Fibre deployment is very expensive, and as a result, they can't deploy it everywhere. Hence the need for fixed wireless access (FWA).

FibreX is available in an estate directly opposite mine, and the cables pass through the front of my estate, but given that my estate is not a serious estate because of the useless developer and estate management we have, we will most likely never get FiberX. The only other viable option is a fixed wireless access, like the one Airtel is currently providing.

Airtel ODU is blazing if Airtel network is cool in your area I get notting less than 50mbps
True. But the 50Mbps is capped at 1TB, after which your speed is reduced to 2Mbps. So, be careful how you blaze it. Don't download and stream unnecessarily.

On the other hand, no one has been able to tell us if they have used beyond 1 or 2TB on the fibreX without any further speed cap.

Optic fibre is underground not mast thing
MTN's fibre runs from the ground to a pole, and then from a pole to the home.

My hope is that MTN also adopts this same Airtel ODU strategy, with same pricing and all. MTN seems to have better coverage in most locations.

Mine was installed on Tuesday.
Could you post pics of both the IDU and ODU?

50% Off Any Plan For 24 months
Starlink misses you! Reactivate your service by December 1st on any plan and enjoy 50% off your monthly bill for the next 24 months. No contract or long-term commitment required.

Please note: The 50% discount applies only to your currently canceled service lines. It will last for 24 billing cycles after activation but will not apply to your activation bill.
Well, it's a good strategy to get those who have since cancelled their plans back to the service. I mean, #28.5k per month for 2 years is a huge deal.

My problem with some of these things is that, those who have been loyal to the service for long, paying full amount every month, may never enjoy any perks.

Please how else do I resolve this issue

There was an unexpected error authenticating your NIN with NIMC, we are unable to authenticate your identity at this time. Please try again in a few hours.
Have you tried the verification from the Starlink site itself?

Mine went smoothly without any issues, and I initiated the process from the Starlink app. It could be that your NIN is the problem.

It's like you have never gotten into trouble in your life before, that's why you think it's child's play.

I know you probably left it open because you are chiking one of his sisters and you want them to have free access to it. But when trouble comes, you will be in for it alone.

Even Airtel knows I'm dumping this their ODU nonsense for MTN fibre. The network is fast during the day.

But from evening till morning, to even load picture would be war.
It depends on your location. Fortunately for me, after mounting it on my roof's face board, I get good coverage of 5G and 4G, and speed has been consistent all day. The only disadvantage of mounting it high up there is that, accessing the device is quite difficult.

if I do the SIM swap, will the e-sim stop working or both the physical and e-sim work together??
Once the swap is completed on the airtel system, the Esim stops working. The moment you insert the sim into the ODU, it switches automatically to the physical sim.

The simple option is to wait for the subscription on the ZLT to expire, then instead of renewing you go to their office to buy the new ZTE device.

It’s basically the same 25k, same as the renewal fees.
The stock is sold out in most of Airtel shops. They're only restocking the ZLT for now.

Yeah, because the power pack is more solid than that of the ZLT.
