Meklex:Be aware that it has a threshold of 1TB, after which the speed is throttled down to 2Mbps. |
Any time we come to Craven Cottage, it's as if we always forget how to play football |
nurez305:Is this slow network issue affecting everyone using the ODU 50Mbps plan or just some people? |
ijeezlux:Yeah, I always use Ethernet because of how unreliable WiFi is. It's very bad today. |
Hopez456:Yeah, this is the one I have, and it has WiFi 6. I wanted to find if the latest indoor router has. |
What is going on with Starlink? I just got back to using Starlink after testing the Airtel ODU for two weeks and realized that Airtel caps the speed to 2Mbps after using 1TB. Starlink is virtually unusable. What on earth is going on with Starlink? I can't stream nothing. |
NSEstudent:Streaming, mostly. A couple of TVs, phones and other devices. |
Guys, I have bad news for heavy data users. After using 1TB of data, my speed has been capped at 2Mbps. I have restarted severally to see if it would change, but it's hard-capped. The device was installed on the 30th September, the last day of September. If you look at the screenshot below, you will see that I have used 980GB this month. It's not including the data I used on the 30th September, which would have indicated the entire 1TB. I had hoped that this would not happen. It's clear to me that this is not for me. I typically use up to 2TB per month on my Starlink. I'm 100% sticking to Starlink, nothing comes close to it in this country. If 1TB is a lot for you, then this is good for you. The speed was consistent throughout the period I used it until I hit the 1TB.

ernxto:All right. @akinremedy, Can you check and confirm availability of WiFi 6 on the new router you got? |
ernxto:Can you confirm if the indoor router has WiFi 6 capability? It's usually indicated by the signal bar. |
akinremedy:Does it have WiFi 6? |
Pootle:You don't have a single point. If you're a man, you better have sense now, before it's too late. Not that your takes surprise me. There are always exceptions like yourself, who never listen. Women love your kind. You will learn the hard way. |
fuckboys:It's Nokia, not Huawei. I don't see how it's better than the current ODUs. The current ODUs have far superior radio inside them. Aesthetically , it looks nice, that's all. I got the device immediately it came out. I think it was 20k or 25k at the time. Because of how bad Network is my area, I gave it out. |
NSEstudent:The problem we have in this country is that customer service is very poor. If Airtel handles this ODU very well, they will take customers away from MTN because, unlike MTN FibreX, this works almost anywhere, as long as there's Airtel coverage there. And their new 5G ODUs have very good radios that optimizes reception. But they will still use their own hands to spoil things for themselves. |
fuckboys:I'm currently testing the Airtel ODU with the 50Mbps plan, even though I have an active Starlink. I'm a curious person, so I like to test things out of curiosity. The ODU works flawlessly most of the time, however, there are times it starts to underperform and then I have to go into the settings interface and make changes, like stepping it down to 4G from 5G, vice versa. Sometimes I have to disable 5G or 4G, as the case may be. This could be because there's no Airtel mast in my estate. The nearest Airtel mast is kilometers away. Still, because of how good the outdoor unit is and the way it was positioned by my roof, I get good coverage on 4G+. I imagine those who don't have my technical knowledge of how these things work, would simply give up on Airtel and say, "Airtel is horrible and unusable where I live." However, Starlink, on the other hand, simply works. It's plug and play. You don't need to do anything once it has been installed and positioned correctly, avoiding obstructions. |
akinremedy:Interesting. Well, that's not good. |
If you plan on getting this device. Once they're done with your registration at their office, don't leave immediately. Wait until it starts working before you leave. Even if you have to wait another 30mins. It will save you a lot of stress. Make sure you connect to it at their office and it's browsing before leaving. |
Hullabaloon:It's possible that they may not have input your email or alternate number at the point of registration, or you didn't give it to them. You need to rectify that. You may need to contact them for that. |
maklelemakukula:Yes, it means that it's been active since on the 10th October. If it's not working at your end, then something is not right. Someone posted a template on how to contact Airtel and getting them to rectify issues. Kindly look for it and follow the instructions. It could be that it's an Esim and it's having issues. I had such issue. After the line became active on the system, but it wasn't working on the device, they called me to return for a swap from Esim to physical sim. |
Hopez456:Network must be very good in your location, you are likely getting full bars of 5G. |
maklelemakukula:It could be. Go here https://airtel(dot)com(dot)ng/broadband-recharge Input the ODU number and try to fetch your data balance. |
maklelemakukula:It's supposed to start working before it's delivered for installation. |
Cherrybae:How is VDM wrong? By the way, some of the people who will buy it in wholesale from Blord, will still go and sell it to unsuspecting customers as original and for the price of original. You're a criminal. |
Hullabaloon:Oh, I see. Thanks |
Hullabaloon:Have you tested this specific one and it works? If so, kindly post a link to it. |
Hullabaloon:Are you getting 5G on the router? |
Goodlady:Are you also God? Those bombs would have been used to kill innocent humans elsewhere as Americans have always done. |
Iweakbro:You can call him a kid all you want, but his point still stands. Those bombs would have been used to kill some innocent people elsewhere, that those people who are producing the bombs themselves never met. I have no pity for Americans. They have taken so many innocent lives across the world. |
Aayemojuba:If i insult you now, the useless bot will ban me. So you are saying it's okay to kill your spouse because, after all, you will be the only one who can take care of your kids after you have killed your spouse? Something is wrong with you. |
Hullabaloon:It depends on your phone. It's typically indicated by the WiFi signal
