Well, it's hard to believe that there's any network in Nigeria, except Starlink, that truly provides uncapped data and speed. But according to the info I got, the 100Mbps that's bundled with the device is unlimited.

I didn't really know how to respond to him honestly. I have the device, I have spoken extensively with MTN about it. It's unlimited just like the fiberx

I spoke with a broadband MTN staff earlier week. He informed me that the challenge they're currently facing is the activation of the 100Mbps unlimited plan that is bundled with the device. He said that they're only able to activate an alternative 120GB bundle. He advised me to wait till next week, that by then, they will have resolved the issue.

People should go to Airtel ODU page and see real picture taking at home with the ODU , u will see normal home things in the picture like tv, socket extension, , general things you find at home , not this generic internet picture

This man, is everything okay at home? Something that is available at MTN head offices already. I will probably get it on Monday. It's being handled by the MTN broadband team at the moment, that's why it's not available everywhere. Most customer care assistants aren't even aware of it.

Have you confirmed yourself that you are getting up to 100Mbps? I thought it ships with 50Mbps.

Each NIN is allowed 4 sims per network, so you can't register more than 4 sims on the mtn network.

MTN always does this nonsense. Same thing they did when they launched 5G routers in September 2022. I recall correctly that at first, the 5G routers weren't paired with the power bank. Initial customers were later called to come and collect the power bank after they started pairing them with power bank.

If you mean acquire it, then I don't know of any mtn shop it's available. When I enquired on Monday, it wasn't available at the northern regional head office in Abuja.

The new ODU plans have got nothing to do with the speed based plans he talked about in the video.

You can access the MTN 5G ODU plans by dialing *461*1#

The 45k for 1000Mbps plan has to be an error. No way it is real. I think they wanted to write 100Mbps

If you have Starlink, there's no reason you should go for this. The instability can be very annoying sometimes. Starlink's stability is unmatched, plug and play.

I tried the ODU last year and there were times I was frustrated. There were times I had to go into the device to switch the network mode from 4G to 5G or vice versa because it was either not browsing or very slow. I imagine if I wasn't a technical person, I would have been left frustrated, cursing at Airtel. Once they hike the price of the device and plans, for me, it's totally not worth it anymore.

An Airtel staff I have on my contact just posted that, from Monday, 2nd March, the price of the ODU will be 40k.

When the partnership was announced, only direct to cell connectivity was mentioned for 14 countries in Africa and till today there isn't any mention of Airtel offering starlink data plans or kit

I also searched everywhere but saw nothing regarding this partnership. I already have Starlink. I was just looking to get more info from him out of curiosity. Moreover, only a mad person would go for this ridiculousness.

Apparently, Airtel and Starlink have gotten into a partnership, or so the dealer that sent me this info claimed. It doesn't really make sense to me at all.

Cable cut for my area for over a month now nothing has been done. My subscription wasted.

This has always been my worry about fibre services in Nigeria. Once you understand that the laws don't protect service providers infrastructures, then there's no way you can be comfortable subscribing to any fibre service in Nigeria.

In Nigeria, anybody can simply wake up and decide to dig holes anywhere without approval from the local government/council of that area, there's absolutely zero repercussions when they damage isp infrastructures.

For context, in civilized nations, you can't dig holes even in your own property without approval from the local authority. If you do, and end up damaging these kind of infrastructures, you will pay a steep fine or go to jail.

So, apparently, Airtel Nigeria has gotten into partnership with Starlink. However, their offerings are nonsensical, absolutely makes zero sense. I have an Airtel agent in my contact and I just saw him posted the offerings. In the morning, I will try to get a clearer image.
