NiyiOmoIyunade: Lolz bros.
That clamp is not really meant to 'securely clamp'. Rather the clamp jaws house a 'hall effect sensor' type device that allows you to measure AMPs flowing through the wire they are clamped around all this without interrupting/breaking the circuit/wire.
You can measure AC amps this way and more importantly to us Renewable Energy enthusiasts you can measure *DC Amps*. As you know given the amps flowing through a wire and the voltage you can precisely calculate how much power in watts is moving into or out of your equipment.
Infact there is no limit to the things you can troubleshoot in your system if you can measure amps flowing through the circuitry and this very conveniently by clamping around wires without breaking the circuit/wire.
As an added bonus, premium units like the Fluke can even read AC Frequency in Hz by passing a wire between the jaws of the clamp. This has helped to better enlighten me, 'Niyi; many thanks for your time and attention to detail. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |

I usually only ship based on 'firm orders' to prevent inventory build up - so I would expect a 5k deposit to firm up any order.
And that is a trusty old Fluke you got there Just for my own lazy-a$$ education, what are the other advantages of these "clampers" over traditional meters with good probes, other than the ability of the clampers to securely clamp? BTW, I'm thinking of purchasing an Aneng AN8009 (a sub-$40 auto-range true RMS and 10000 Count meter with a well-regarded continuity tester, a temperature probe, etc.) for my fledgling hobby. NoMoreTrolling: Hey guys, was still researching the topic of Air Conditioning and found an LG inverter AC that does variable tonnage.
That is beyond cool. So it can vary it's cooling BTU from 100% down to about 40% and being that it uses a variable speed compressor, the current at low tonnage is also less.
So what does this mean for us using solar Well, it means we can now have a 1hp Air conditioner that can run on just 560 watts on "LOW POWER MODE", i.e "LOW TONNAGE MODE".
So in essence, you can set your temps down to say 16 during the day and run it at 100% tonnage, using between 800-1000 watts of power. At night, you can still run it, but if you run at low power, you'd be drawing only 560 watts.
On a 48v system, 560watts divided by 48v = 11.6amps, which is very very manageable.
Setting the temperature to 27 degrees celcius at night, instead of the usual low 16 most people do would also help to improve savings as it cuts down on the compressors duty cycle. So for every hour, if you set the temp up to as high as 27 or 28, the compressor might only have to run for 20 minutes, thereby increasing savings in terms of current draw from the batteries.
This is great news, so you can now have an AC'd environment, 24/7 if you so desire, for just a little power, excellent. Please share at least one link to the product page. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |

Politics › Re: 5 Reasons Why President Buhari Will Win 2019 Election by duwdu: 1:13pm On Mar 20, 2018 |
evanso6226: https://www.clintgist.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Buhari-12.jpg
President Muhammadu Buhari continues to divide opinions out there. But don’t rule him out of the 2019 election battle just yet. They are those who say he’s failed so woefully, a second term is well beyond his and the APC’s grasp. They are those who beg to differ, telling everyone who cares to listen that Buhari is still the best thing to happen to this country since sliced bread.
For all the hoopla over Buhari’s perceived ‘incompetence’ out there, the man is on the cusp of getting re-elected and here’s why:
1. Registered voters in geopolitical zones
Out of the 73,944,312 registered voters across Nigeria, as of January 2018, the Northwest had a total of 18,505,984 voters while the Southeast had 8,293,093.
The North central had 10,586,965 registered voters, while the North east zone had 9,929,015.
The Southwest had the second highest number of registered voters with 14,626,800.
The South south as a whole had 11,101,093 registered voters.
Look at those numbers again and it begins to hit you—the APC strongholds of Southwest and North, have the highest number of registered voters. The Southeast and South South where anti-Buhari sentiments are pretty strong, are still playing catch-up.
For all our social media rants, when the North votes, it often votes big. Ask Kano.
If the North and Southwest settle for Buhari again, the smart money is on him getting re-elected.
2. There is no opposition
The PDP has become a joke since it lost the center in 2015. The party spent two years trying to put its house in order after Goodluck Jonathan got trounced by Buhari.
My big brother in this business, Simon Kolawole, captured it all in his latest Sunday column:
“PDP, as presently constituted, is still the strongest opposition platform. But its brand image is not sparkling. After overcoming the storm-in-a-tea-cup internal imbroglio which many swore had the hand of APC, the PDP is now perceived as the property of one or two Governors.
“Meanwhile, the SDP has been telling us that Governors and senators will defect to “our fold” in large numbers “next week” but next week never seems to come. There is also the third force as well as the third farce.
“The youth are mobilising and saying they are not too young to run. A lot is going on, but where is the harmonisation? It’s less than 10 months to the nomination of candidates!
“By this time in 2014, APC was already consolidated and ready to do battle. Today, much of opposition’s hope is built on the assumption that people are disappointed with Buhari and will automatically vote against him. Yet we know you don’t defeat an incumbent in Africa through wishful thinking. Anywhere an incumbent has lost, it is usually because the opposition played smarter”.
The opposition hasn’t been playing smart since 2015 and that gives Buhari an edge ahead of 2019.
3. Buhari is still much loved on the streets of the north
I was in Kano the last time Buhari visited that city you can call a swing State. I had to duck to the car so I wouldn’t get caught in a stampede.
Everywhere Buhari has visited in the North has been the same story. Surging crowds chanting ‘sai Baba’ and delving into a frenzy each time the president puts that legendary fist up. For all his faults, Buhari remains a huge factor in the politics of the North.
Of course crowds during State visits don’t necessarily translate to votes, but there are a barometer or harbinger of some sort.
Most of the lawmakers and Governors from APC controlled States got voted in just because Buhari raised their hands at campaign rallies.
The president enjoys a feral, cult following in the north and there’s nothing to suggest that has changed.
Besides, the president continues to enjoy instant name recognition out there. No other politician comes close.
4. Defections to APC
The APC currently has 24 States in its kitty. Juxtapose that with the PDP’s 11 and APGA’s 1.
In its prime, the PDP controlled 29 out of 36 states. That was in 2007 when Obasanjo systematically decimated the opposition.
Those were the days when the PDP boasted it was going to rule Nigeria for 60 years.
When the PDP ceded plenty of grounds to the APC in 2015, most of its members began to empty into the APC. The mass defection continues at a frenetic pace today.
Nigerian politicians don’t like to play opposition because their default setting is to align with the party that guarantees them food for their bellies. Nobody wants to die of hunger in the name of opposition.
Don’t be surprised if the APC sweeps more States in 2019 because PDP members are daily emptying into the governing party in droves.
We may just end up with a mono party democracy in 2019 and that would be bad for everyone.
5. Corruption fight perception
The joke on social media after Yusuf Buhari’s power bike accident, revolved around folks on the streets saying something along these lines:
“Buhari is a poor man who can’t afford a car for his son. That is why his son had an Okada accident”.
Now, that may be a stretch, but I have interacted with average Nigerians who tell me that Buhari is running Nigeria badly but at least he is no thief.
The APC’s anti-corruption agenda may be scoffed at on social media but it remains ingrained in many minds on the streets.
Nigerians who actually possess PVCs may just hand Buhari another term because “he is not a thief”. These Nigerians have also been told that the thieves are the ones frustrating Buhari and who want to stop him from getting another term.

orisa37: The 46 are now caught Pants Down Conspiring against The Masses. That is to say, they are now certified Conspirators and should be treated guilty as charged. Actually, I suspect it is those senators who're NOT part of the "46," that will more likely be prevented from or denied their party's ticked to re contest for their senate positions. Just watch. Their governors - especially those governors who are openly or clandestinely pro-Buhari - are waiting for them. Three prominent, clear and almost sure examples: Dino Melaye, Shehu Sani, and Rabiu Kwankwaso. In a related sense, I tend to believe some analyses I read that suggest that, those senators driving this polls sequence change agenda, are the ones who're certain their party would not give them a chance to re contest. In which case, they thought they'd have a somewhat better chance of coming back/regaining their seats on another platform, provided their own election is scheduled away from those that will involve the doyen of their current party. Even that type of permutation will most probably amount to building castles in the air, though, IMHO. 'Nuf said. ........ P34c3 ..... ... |

MORNDEW: Is there anything we Crucified GEJ for, that has not Happened in this Administration? This was an article I saw on front page this morning https://www.nairaland.com/4405472/there-anything-crucified-gej-hasnt. As usual, the comments showed the lack of intelligence and the childish nature of the average politics section nairalander. Let me not write long epistles but below are things we Crucified GEJ for, that has not Happened in this Administration
1. Immigration Job Scam: The last administration wasted the lives of over 19 graduates and injured hundreds in a nonexistent immigration Job after collecting #1000 application fee from the applicant. The culprit in that she of shame Abba Moro, was left untouched.
2. Depleted Foreign Reserve: My friends, may our lives not be depleted the way the former administration depleted our foreign reserve. The administration of the ineffectual buffoon inherited $47.7 but depleted and squandered it to about $29 before leaving office. This came at a time when oil price was high.
3. Seized Aircraft carrying military weapons: In a show of shame and national disgrace, an aircraft belonging to a man who goes pastor Ayo Oritsejafor and loaded with military weapons was seized by SouthAfrican Authorities because it was illegally used in acquiring military weapons. Reporters agreed that the said aircraft had former militant leader Asari Dokubo on board. Where in the world do military weapons get acquired using a former rebel and the aircraft of a funny looking man of God? Only in the last administration.
4. Upsurge of Boko Haram: The former administration of the Kindergarten president saw the upsurge of Boko Haram. The terrorists, seized and controlled territories in Nigeria almost the size of Belgium. The terrorists grew from strength to strength. Institutions were easily bombed. UN building, Thisday building, St. Theresa Catholic Church etc. Abuja the Federal capital territory was not spared. Today BH has been decimated and confined to a hideout with pockets of attacks.
5. Borrowing to pay salaries: in continuation of the show of shame of the former administration, The former administration was borrowing to pay salaries at a time of many. A serious government borrow to develop infrastructure not to pay salaries.
6. Arrest of Opposition leaders before Elections. The kindergarten former administration made it a habit to arrest opposition leaders before elections. A day to the election in Osun State, opposition leaders like Lai Mohammed were arrested and detained till after the election. El-Rufai was arrested and detained in Anambra on the day of the governorship election. Same thing with Ekiti state election where arm banded military men were used to rig election.
7. Stealing is not corruption: The former accidental public servant, on a live media chat said stealing was not corruption. The body language and utterances of the former president upsurged corrupt practices and made it look like a culture.
8. Crass Crude First Lady: The former weak President had no control of the wife, who made mockery of her role as the wife of the president. A woman who threw decorum to the gutters and behaved like 17th century cave women. She went ahead to impose candidates and even acted like the president of the country as was observed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in his book.
9. Release of Chibok girls: girls were kidnapped in Chibok and a president who went to dance later could not release them until this administration. It took this administration tactics and experience to release the girls the former administration could not.
You see, one thing is to criticize this present administration for its short coming on different national issues but trying to compare this administration with the last amounts to insult on intelligent Nigerians. The last administration was a disaster. Given the circumstances and same scenario before 2015 presidential election, reverse that same election Nigerians would still elect president Buhari.
Nairaland has lost all forms of credibility by allowing illiterates to roam here polluting this place with their illiteracy hence it now looks like every Nigerian is that way. Stupid unintelligent comments now get likes and the illiterates are urged on by those likes to make more damaging comments that looks like it's the right thing.
one thing is to come here and show your shallowness and another thing is to face facts and reality. That you get likes from nonsense does not make it normal. People come here to disgrace their families and themselves and think it's the right thing.
Forgive me for missed punctuations and mistakes cos I just took time from my busy schedule to write this and set the records straight. And to also show that there are people on this forum who don't easily forget.

Pidgin English doesn't have correction that's why we love it. No fear of embarrassment.
It only has two rules...
1 If you claim to speak it better, you are only diverting to pure English.
2 The more badly you speak it the better you are at speaking it. This makes a lot more sense! Thanks for posting. On a further note, I think Pidgin got more easily assimilated the more diverse the languages or dialects of two adjoining communities or people, are. In other words, its spread has been much more rooted in societies that do not have a single, widely used local language of their own, but have a common (English) colonizer, such as with our own South-south geopolitical zone. ........
