It is often negotiated on the basis of ideological convictions, sphere of interest or national interest. Morality and good conscience is often left to issues of crime against humanity and humanitarian causes. In effect, the sovereignty of Palestine is more of a political aspiration which is determined by interest and ideology rather than humanitarian causes.

If Nigeria supports the position of Palestine's independence, it does not guarantee its attainment. Nigeria has always been in the middle by its foreign policy as a leading member of the Non-Aligned Movement. It may even harm Nigeria's national interest and derail its attempt to achieve our future goal of permanent membership of the Security Council from the African region. Britain has been a major player supporting the independence of the Palestine and yet voted against it. Though USA have always supported the sovereignty and survival of the State of Israel, it obvious that the two remains one of Nigeria's strongest allies in International diplomacy.

It would be fool hardy for Nigeria to vote against the interest of its former colonial masters, unless we are going to throw our past relationship and future aspirations in the thrash can. To abstain from voting is therefore a declaration that MY HANDS ARE TIED. If Nigeria had a choice of voting on the grounds of morality and good conscience, it is obvious that our vote will be for the independence of the Palestine. Nigeria had benefited much from Israel but it would not holistically dissuade us doing what is right, if the right atmosphere is available.

One thing is certain, as long as international terrorism, militancy, islamization and forceful use of arms across borders between Israel and Palestine is unresolved, there will be unending issues in the determination of the Palestine State. The wars of the local militia is enough reason to fear and the spit over effects on other regions.

As long as the world leaders are unable to predict with certainty, the goals and capabilities of Palestine leaders in managing the future and fortunes of the Palestine State with clear definition of commitment to international and regional peace and security in the Middle East with evidence of tolerance to all faith and sects to thrive, the independence of Palestine will be compromised.

For USA to support Palestine's independence, issues involved with determining the geographical space and territory to be conceded to Palestine including the limits ot access to Jerusalem, Bethelehem, Gaza strip, occupied territory etc must be resolved. It would be difficult to have a highly islamized Palestine in Middle East like Syria, Iran and Iraq (Arabs) because that would further heighten the problems of Israel and other Western nations and their allies.

The history of that region has shown in the last ten centuries that they have pursued international diplomacy and war from the point of expansionist agenda of jihadists who wish to either islamise the world and spread arabic culture from North and Eastern Africa to Southern Europe and Asia region, looking at the expanse of Ottoman Turkish Empire and the showdown leading to the fight with the CRUSADERS. The same is unabated till date, looking at the scenario in the Middle East particularly in Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.

Liberating a people as the world did in Lebanon did not bring total peace to that region. If Palestine are left to run their own state, the world need to provide a lot of answers for their future engagements and agenda. You don't strengthen a belligerent to have capacity and recognition to put you in a corner. Acquisition of nuclear arms by such state may render the world totally obliterated overnight since they believe that killing the infidels (people of those faith and conviction) will grant them access to Al-Janna.

The western allies would find it difficult to further strengthening of the Arab world at the detriment of other world powers and their allies because it would put would be putting the world in further jeopardy, if care is not taken. Moreover, the passage of the Gaza strip to Asia from Europe and the use of the airspace across the region by various allies requires a deep reflection on the character of the Palestine State and their benefits to all allies.

When international diplomacy and politics is considered within this scope and other emanating features, the grant of independence to Palestine will not be determined purely from the character of the spirit of self-determination, but on the strength of the character and spirit of regional stability, world peace and security.

Let Palestine make more efforts to assure the world of their readiness not to use their freedom to disturb others nor to oppress their own people and be convinced that political sovereignty and independence is not a matter of purely self determination, but of world peace and security. It is only then that morality and good conscience would help in their favour. I love my moslem brothers just like my christian faithful, but I will rather be silent or support any idea to guarantee peace in the face of freedom. If a potential law breaker is left in prison or correction centre to amend its way, it gives the people some measure of peace, rather than to let him loose and commit another crime. Freedom is a prize that must be given, if only it will guarantee peace, equality and respect of other peoples' right.[/font]

Only in Nigeria can you find people who translate an idiom from a particular language to another word to word. The person that. translated the statement is either bieng mischievious or doesn't not understand the Hausa language. In Hausa the proverb "kare jini biri jini" is used to signify intense struggle between two or more individuals. After all the mischievious translators were to dumb to translate 'biri' as "baboon", because in hausa the word 'biri' is monkey while baboon is called "goggo". I repeat again, the reality is that Buhari is getting support from the people who do not matter even in the North. I won't be surprised if this election goes exactly like the 2011.

How many major Northern politicians have declared open support for him since his emergence as the flag bearer for APC. Even Atiku his fellow party mate is yet to take any categorical stand on Buhari's candidacy. I tell why :

The Northern political heavy wright's that I know, understand very well that besides the fact that Buhari is grossly overrated and does not understand the dynamics of politics in Nigeria as it relates to the North;
*He is too old now, might be overwhelmed with the heavy demands of leadership and might just do a Yaradua on them and power will return to the South and SW will be the beneficiary.

* They know Tinubu is no father Christmas and they see the hands of Obasanjo all over the insistence that the VP must be a southwesterner. They know the Yoruba way of doing politics, they never sow where they don't hope to benefit in the nearest future.

* Osibanjo is a distraction for gullible Nigerian Christians, going by how the man has been left alone to do his own celebrity campaign jumping from one BRT bus to campaign to going to shoprite and then going to secular shows to mingle with the likes of Olamide only tells you one thing, they don't take the lackey Pastor seriously for now, he is just there to fulfill a purpose for the Southwest handlers of the party. Osibanjo obviously can not swing any vote even in the SW.

Buhari might look fit in all the doctored pictures of him and his clueless VP but one thing is a giving, he is very old, lethargic, probably has limitations as a result of his age and nobody knows his health status, at least it is not in the public domain, so if there is an argument that he is getting all the SW support from the SW handlers of the party, it is because it is a very high probability, they probably know his health conditions and status better than any ordinary supporter, knowing how cleverly cunning the SW do politics it might possibly be why many of the Northern political elites are still very much ambivalent about a Buhari presidency.

Check out the man's sponsors so far, they are largely none-northerners, that says a lot. Politics goes beyond loud propaganda and brawn and threat, elite support base is very key and if you are not getting it even from your own stronghold then don't be too surprised if Buhari gets all the media and sectional common man support in the north and still lose come election day. I have said enough, I need somebody intelligent to debate with me on this not abuse or throw childish temper tantrums.

It can just spring up at anytime and the man who wishes to govern 170million people must be ready at all times. Nigeria isn't the only one with insurgency. Kenya is battling same but i'm yet to hear Uhuru Kenyatta blame the opposition or the Kenyan Muslim population for the problem despite the fierce contest that heralded his presidency. All we hear from you the apologists of the weak and ineffective president is that the Muslims don't want him to rule and i wonder if you guys forget that he has Muslims in his government, in PDP and in his own corruption and power cabal. You forget also that he'll still need to garner votes from Muslims if he hopes to get re-elected. If he can't fight the insurgency, how about the gross stealing going on? is that also the fault of the Muslims? how many times have you heard Obama blame the white Americans for his problems?

If you don't want to get hot and sweaty, leave the kitchen. If your boss or clients tolerates excuses instead of results for every assignment they give, you and them deserve pity because you're headed for failure. Interests didn't start today and the honest truth is that Jonathan is still in office simply to ensure the sustenance and survival of the kleptocracy that he and his cronies have subjected the country to since he entered politics. As of today, GEJ is the greatest beneficiary of the situation the country finds itself in today as he and his friends' looting spree can be carried out on multiple fronts.

Who killed Osama? everybody will point to Obama because despite the fact that he was ensconced in an air-conditioned situation room while American marines were risking their lives to hunt the terrorist, as c-in-c, the buck stops at his table.
