The Europeans are the king of hot hatches. |
Ever since Ndukwe left the NCC and Buhari appointed his northern brother Umaru to replace him, that place has been a mess. The government cannot rely on MTN to solve her economic woes. Buhari is also too dull to see that he is chasing away foreign investors by his constant flip flops. |
Why is he bleaching ? |
Abagworo:How much money do you get paid to peddle blatant lies Who in Imo state does not know that pensioners have been repeatedly called out in the sun for accreditation with many losing their lives in the process and yet not receiving a single kobo. |
Viktor1983:Thank you so much. The folks here justifying what this person did were the ones shouting blue murder in that thread all because the names are different. |
zubizareta:Very sad indeed. |
ekafine:Kindly stop misquoting me. What I wrote is out of genuine concern and the areas I mentioned are way better than the slums littered all over PH. I have lived in both cities and Enugu is by far more livable than PH. |
aresa:Wow What has all this got to do with the crashed stock and the lack of economic policies by Buhari which has crippled the economy Stop worshipping your tormentors. |
aresa:This type of blind support gets us nowhere. I didn't write the article. The writer is not even Nigerian, he simply stated the facts. Anyone who says the blind truth automatically becomes vengeful. Our stock market has crashed with businesses losing billions of dollars and you are posting about Kerrygold. Buhari just like his supporters seem to be too scared to face the truth. |
Stocks in Africa's biggest oil producer drop 6.2% in November London-based Alquity has cut its Nigeria exposure to one stock Nigeria’s stocks fell to their lowest level in almost three years as foreigners exited the market amid fading hopes that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government can revive an economy growing at its slowest pace this century. The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index dropped 0.8 percent to 27,385.69 at close in the commercial capital of Lagos, the lowest since December 2012. The gauge declined on all but three trading days in November for a monthly drop of 6.2 percent. “The government has not come up with a definitive policy for the economy,” Pabina Yinkere, an analyst at Vetiva Capital Management Ltd., said by phone from Lagos. “The continued lack of clarity is affecting the stock market.” While Buhari, a 72-year-old former general who came to power in May, has prioritized stamping out corruption in Africa’s biggest economy and oil producer, investors were irked by a delay of more than five months in forming a cabinet , which he swore in Nov. 11. There’s also concern that his support for the central bank’s currency- trading restrictions are choking businesses of the dollars they need to pay foreign suppliers. Almost two stocks declined for every one that rose. Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, the nation’s biggest lender by market capitalization, dropped 2.7 percent to 20 naira ($0.10). The stock is down 21 percent this year, about the same as the overall index. That’s the biggest fall in sub- Saharan Africa after the Zimbabwe Industrial Index. Specialist African funds including Alquity Investment Management Ltd. and Duet Asset Management Ltd. have lowered their Nigerian exposure because they think that central bank Governor Godwin Emefiele will be forced to devalue the naira, which would cause losses on holdings in foreign-currency terms. Last week’s interest rate cut by the central bank, its first in six years, will heap more pressure on the currency, according to David McIlroy, Alquity’s chief investment officer. The naira was unchanged at 199.05 per dollar and has been all but fixed at 198 to 199 since early March. Forward prices suggest it will weaken to 241.25 in a year. Pressure on Currency “The surprise reduction in rates has probably worried international investors even more,” McIlroy said by phone from London. “Given the inflation rate is above the central bank’s target, there’s pressure on the currency and they need to attract foreign capital, you’d expect interest rates to be rising.” Annual inflation was 9.3 percent in October, higher than the central bank’s target of 6 percent to 9 percent. Alquity held about seven Nigerian stocks at the beginning of 2015, including Guaranty Trust Bank and Zenith Bank Plc. It now holds only Dangote Cement Plc. Equity funds are more underweight in Nigeria than any other frontier and emerging market, except for Kuwait and Morocco, analysts at Renaissance Capital Ltd. said in a Nov. 23 note to clients. “We’ve increased our positions in Egypt and Kenya at the expense of Nigeria,” McIlroy said. Nigeria is reeling from crude prices that have plunged 57 percent since June 2014. Economic growth will slow to 3.2 percent this year from 6.3 percent in 2014, according to a Bloomberg survey of economists. That would be the slowest pace since 1999. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-11-30/nigeria-s-stocks-fall-to-three-year-low-as-foreigners-exit by Paul Wallace and Emele Onu |
Buhari has proven to be an incompetent dullard. Any sensible president ought to address the country based on recent happenings from the shooting of unarmed protesters to bomb blasts that go off almost everyday. But Buhari is more interested in admiring the streets of Paris and now Capetown. |
See the black patch on my forehead don't waste time preaching to me. |
RisingSun1:Ok I didn't know that cause it wasn't mentioned. |
I suspect majority of Nigerians are brain dead. The write up NEVER mentioned the cause of death. He was simply referred to as a probiafran protester. It was NEVER said he died during a protest, he could have died after ill heath or from an accident or any other cause. |
Thanks for all who are trying to revive this thread. Please one thing the governor needs to improve on is sanitation. Some parts of Enugu are simply neglected when it comes to road sweeping. I wonder why Agbani road cannot be swept daily down to Gariki park. That place is also an entry point into Enugu and always looks very unkempt. It just says welcome to a dirty city. Even mkpokiti road has heaps of dust dotting the roadside. I wonder what it takes to sweep these roads. It is not enough to sweep only highbrow areas. It really pains me to see those heap of dusts, it literally tips me into depression and tells me welcome to Nigeria a land where the most basic and cheapest of chores are taken for granted. Gburugburu biko dododo, ayiyo ka'm n'ayo gi debee Enugu Ocha. You can employ cheap Labour to sweep ALL major streets and dual carriageways. A dirty street doesnt count. It is not enough to dispose of the dumpsters the streets MUST BE SWEPT TOO DAILY. There is something about an unswept city road it just reeks of neglect. Take a drive from Gariki down Agbani road and look at the roadsides it is an eyesore. It shouldn't be so, this is 2015 no city is taken serious if basic things like this cannot be solved. Meanwhile I hope the government will also do some Christmas decorations. They can take it up a notch this year by laying emphasis on entrance/exit points into the city not just the traditional routes. Before you all say no money. The decoration can be done in moderation. A clean city makes for good psychological wellness. |
If someone comes out to say he committed murder, shouldn't he be jailed ![]() |
enieme:You are very wrong. One can consent to have sex and still get raped along the line. The moment she says she has had enough and you keep going it becomes rape even if she consented initially. And that seems to be what played out here. If you are saying she enjoyed the violence then I don't get it perhaps you are saying she is a masochist. In any case all these are accusations and all I stand for is further investigation as we cannot dismiss or affirm her case. |
enieme:You seem to have contradicted yourself. You say the relationship became violent. Could that violence have involved rape. I hope you know that being in a relationship doesn't exonerate one from rape. A person may remain in a very abusive relationship(involving rape) if she feels that the sour period will pass or it will lead to a marriage a mistake many young people make. They only tend to come out when they have been dumped and it is too late. This doesn't in anyway take away the crime committed against them. The issue is not if they feel scorned but if they were actually abused or not. I believe the case should be investigated to determine the truth. A very difficult challenge I must say. |
TonyeBarcanista:How dare you sit behind your laptop without any shred of concrete evidence and make categorical statements. In such situations the accuser and accused must be given the benefit of doubt. But you just sound like a paid writer. |
nobeku:Do you realise that a prostitute can be raped? I do not know whether the story is true or not but what I can tell you is that rape victims are some of the most maltreated and misunderstood in our society. I have dealt with many victims in my practice and it is very difficult for them to come out and share their story. Not long ago a young victim of rape took her life because no one gave her support. Everyone including her mother blamed her for getting raped. It was on nairaland. To make matters worse if the incident is not reported immediately and action taken, the evidence is lost. This is the case worldwide. And this always presents a challenge for the justice system even in the developed world. It takes a lot of courage for the victims to come out and that courage often comes at a much later time after the act has occurred especially if the perpetrator is an influential person. All I know is that the case is definitely worth investigating. Everyone deserves justice both the alleged victim and accused. |

Northocracy continues. He had to call up someone from retirement so that a northerner would occupy the position. |
food is ready. |
The dullard minister of petroleum cum president is presiding over the worst fuel crisis in Nigeria's history and he has no clue on how to solve it. |
What is this? |
Abagworo:This clearly shows that Rochas is a fraud. We are talking about primary and secondary health centres. These projects were budgeted for, what happened midway? Perhaps he never had any intention of completing these projects. Meanwhile he has money to be stacking rocks at every roundabout in the name of fountain. He is the worst case of misplaced priorities or should I say fraudulent window dressing while the rot eats deeper. |
