abu12: they are only gathering more information about his transaction and his assets, before taking him to court, for easy forfeiture to FG It's only in Nigeria we first arrest and then detain the accused before investigation. |

MaziOmenuko: There's always an excuse bro, especially if you chose to look at it thru a biased mind. So dasuki didn't loot money meant to fight boko haram? Or you want to say he shouldn't be persecuted just because theres a coup hanging on his head? You only see what you chose to see. Ifeanyi UBA has been doing his business since and likewise other Igbo men, nobody has harrased anyone. But right now he chose to divert petrol kept in his custody, he shouldn't be persecuted because he is an Igbo man? Or you didn't hear that mrs belonging to Dangote returned his own money when he was asked to? Bro, let's forget Dasuki Angle. What of the 18 billion being owed his firm? From the business angle, if Nnpc were owing him, I don't see him returning a dime. Let DSS charge him to court, let him defend himself there. Dss cannot be the Prosecutor, Judge and Jury at the same time. |

abu12: according to u and uba, why don't u sue nnpc over the 17billion naira or its by shouting up and down without concrete evidence? Reverse the same question. Why don't DSS sue charge Ubah to Court? Why keep him detention without any formal charges in a competent court of Law. |

AnthonioAlsaid: Dude my point is that you guys should stop dragging tribalism into everything
If his cupboard is clear he will be vindicated
James Ibori came back to Nigeria after his release, he was celebrated by the same people he stole from
These people take us for fools and you guys are giving them more reason to do so I wasn't really championing a Tribal cause. My point is that, if DSS really has issues with Ubah, they should charge him to court. Instead of running up and down, obtaining injunctions to keep him in custody without any real charge in court. Let us for once do the right things. |

MisterLomantic: Who is this one sef and what kind of school did you attend?
Firstly, I said "impunity reeks in Nigeria", which means Ubah isn't the first as there are many who haven't been prosecuted. The comment further labeled Ubah a criminal and was quick to assert that there are many like him who haven't gone near a court house talk more of facing a judge.
This means Ubah may be guilty and yes, he's not the only one
Please, always endeavor to read and understand before you quote people. A 'criminal' based on what premise? Has ever been convicted by any Law Court Or you just wake up and start calling people criminals? That's is the problem with Nigerians. If someone, were to see you and start calling you criminal, what will you say? I ain't the one with comprehension problem. |

MaziOmenuko: What of dasuki who the courts has ordered his release and DSS are still keeping him? What of zakzakki who the courts has ordered his release too? I didn't want mention them before cos it's unrelated to the thread..... but in all honesty, they are witch-hunt bro. We know Dasuki's real crime (the coup that ousted GMB). ZakZakki, religion related. |

MaziOmenuko: Ubah has capable lawyers, and can afford 30 SANS to defend him. If there's an agreement where nnpc is indepted to him and another agreement which states that the debts owed by nnpc is transferable, then trust he will be vindicated. All these cry of tribal witch-hunt isn't doing anyone any good. Why is it not witch-hunt? Why haven't they charged him to court? He will floor DSS court that's is why they are running up and down, getting court injunctions to hold him for more days or weeks without charging him to court. Brother, it is witch-hunt. |

MARKone: we really need to stop this tribal banter, most especially when it has to do with criminal cases. I am an Igbo man, if he is found wanting, the courts should be allowed to do their job unhindered. Uba is a wealty man, that can be able to manipulate or distort the outcome of criminal case. If he has nothing to hid and his supporters beleive so too, then they have nothing to worry about. So if someone is owing you 18 billion and you have his goods worth 11 billion, you will carry the goods and give it back to him, while waiting for him to pay you the 18 billion? Abet make Una dey reason well sha....cos NNPC has even acknowledged that they are owing that amount. Yet nobody is talking about it |

A beautiful thread like this is being given Tribal coloration. Why can't we look beyond tribalism. Tomorrow now, my Igbo brothers and sisters will start shouting marginalization, but any little thing we do we hit our chest and shout the other tribe will not like this. Learn to humble yourself, and see if others will not overlook your shortcomings and help you attain the goals you want. Before quoting me, "I am Nwa Aba". Born and brought up. |

doctokwus: Almost losing hope on nland posters till I read yours. Honestly,i don't see what wrong d uncle did in seeking other professional opinion. Its called second opinion. Is he expecting any learned uncle to take the opinion of a nutritionist over that of qualified medical practitioners? This same guy, bless his soul, was at a point chastising d uncle for taking him to meet a non oncologist, but medical practitioner, but quarrels with him wen d uncle refused d opinion of a non medical practitioner nutritionist. Sometimes,we shud learn to b dispassionate wen seeking d truth. What I see here is blame heaped on d uncle from lack of financing,to property grabbing and indirectly also indicting him for his death, for cancer! D only thing he didn't do is blame d uncle for his contracting d cancer in the first place!! Uncle maybe a property grabber, but I wudnt pass guilty verdict on him based on d long epistle above,as sad as d death may have been. His wrongs as I understand it are; 1. When the mother was lying critically ill at the hospital, and the doctor in charge helped the mum by inviting the bankers to the mother's sick bed do that funds can be released for her treatment as she could no longer sign her signature. The uncle made a big case out of it and accused the good doctor of defrauding his late sister (the guy's mum). 2. The uncle tricked him when he was still very young to sign away his inheritance. 3. The uncle in the guise of a guidance sent him to school, but denied him funds for his education. (See number 2 for reference) 4. When the guy was diagnosed of the cancer and he went for the first chemotherapy, which failed. It was an aunt, the uncle's niece who provided most of the funds. But his mother's only brother was alive and sitting on his parents wealth. The boy's inheritance. 5. The uncle will appear in meetings and even volunteer advice for doctors to consult, but wasn't willing to bring contribute funds for the treatment. (See number 2, again for reference. ) In conclusion, I believe all these were a kind of delay tactics, waiting for when the guy will eventually kick the bucket. Which if finally happened. RIP, Paul Arisa. |
