amjoseph19: when kanu was asking for gun, I was totally against it. I'm not in support of war. We are not the abo*kis. now, he is asking of referendum. He has hardly talk of war ever since he returned from prison. I now support the motion.
yes he has never talked of war since his prison. Experiment. But his foot soldiers still do. Brother, I stay in Aba and I can't argue like this in public because you really don't know who you are arguing with. Unless you are on ground here, you won't understand what his earlier speeches has done to the psyche of some people.
Nwodosis: Funny enough, IPOB foot soldier don't even have time for social media, they are glued to their radio Biafra or engaged in usefully discussion about the next IPOB unit meetings!
And that my brother is the unfortunate thing. We yab, Abõkis, as a every Allam with him radio/kettle but here you see our people believing without questions asked, everything that comes from Radio Biafra. This reminds of The Rwandan Genocidal war.
amjoseph19: It will be very stupid of me to say that every igbo man support Biafra. They are those who doesn't and those who doesn't does not constitute upto 10%. That's from the little survey I carried out in the street. in a gathering of 20 Radom igbo ppl, i can bet you that 18 of them wants biafra.
but, the rate of "I'm from the East" has suddenly increased here in nairaland.
Thank you for being civil. For some of us who have lived among other tribes and come back home to contribute the little we can, I will agree with you that most want Biafra. But the way some of our people are going about it is wrong and may lead to AVOIDABLE blood shed. I read today that Igbo Professionals (Igbo Kunie) are in support of referendum. That is the way to go. Secession in the rightful direction is a long and tedious road. But if we do it right, we will get there without shedding blood unnecessarily. Ndi mba ozo n' acho ihe a ga si n' Õbu ya mere ha ji eme tigbuo kugbuo. Wisdom is profitable to direct.
Chere godu Op. Õbu mmadu nine g' ekwere n' ihe õ bula Mazi Nnamdi Kanu kwuru? So, because we all observed the sit at home directive that came from IPOB , seeing that it was good and in order to honor our fallen heroes and those who lost their lives in the Biafran struggle of 1967-1970. It then translates that even if N. K asks Igbos to eat shít we will do so Let me remind you, 'Igbo E nwere eze'
Nnamdi Kanu has succeeded this far he has been saying what Igbos want to hear, even if many wouldn't say it in public. But the moment he decided to start issuing rubbish ultimatums, then he will be reminded that 'Igbo enweghi eze' is true and still stands. On election day in Anambara, I will keenly be observing. Moreover, Kanu should bring back his family to Umuahia if he wants all of us to take him very serious. You keep Family for London, come here come dey hit up the polity.
“We shall resist every of such plans and ensure by all means possible, that the north completes its eight-year tenure and possibly even continue after then, and that the federal structure of Nigeria as it currently is, is not tampered with by secession mongers and their collaborators,” the statement concluded.
. At times like this, I tend to agree fully with Nnamdi Kanu
“May we remind the Yoruba that without the willingness and magnanimity of the north, there was no way Abiola could have purportedly won that election, and that all the Yoruba have now as assets in the south west, especially Lagos, were given to them by our leaders out of our own usual magnanimity.
PureMe01: craze man...if dem no gree vote, win d election urself as d governor and hoard their deserved payments cos of ur backward reasoning.anyway am not surprised, such mentality only comes from either those clowns who their brains have been replaced with hydraulic oil or their masters who they are forever loyal to..see dem, people wey wan better nigeria
Choi!!!! All these insults on top my own view point. If you no know, I am an Igbo man from the same state (Abia) with Nnamdi Kanu. I don't care what you guys say or do. But this election boycott order is ill thought out. In case you don't know, it will still take another two or three or more years before Biafra fully secede from Nigeria. That is if it doesn't lead to bloodshed first.
Nwodosis: Is voting mandatory? Voting is only being patriotic and you can never be compelled to vote!
Of course no compulsion in Voting. But when Nnamdi, is issuing Ultimatums then Politicians will find away to pass their message across more forcefully.
hornyofife: This is what the scenario will be if government decides to rent and import voters from other states.
If they will rent people to vote, it means they will need at least 800,000 voters and lets assume they are paid 5,000naira each.
that means government will be spending not less than 4,000,000,000 naira tax payers money alone to rent voters, and in doing that, they will have to pay them first before they vote. There comes the danger, what if after paying the voters and those voters pocket the money without voting what will happen?
On the other hand, if they government says vote before pay. There comes the danger also, what if after voting and the person in-charge of disbursing monies to the rented voters pay less or not pay at all or pay some and leave some? That will be embarrassing because those voters will come to the media to expose the government....yeye dey smell
Government don't need to rent the crowds. NO. Simply, let the civil servants in the state know that their job will be on the line if they don't perform their civic duties. The reality is that IPOBs are more of Idealists than realists. The reality on ground is that, when confronted with a situation where you either lose your income or tow the government line. Your guess is good as mine.
Dannyset: It seems some powerful people in PDP are the ones using this Arewa Group to magnify the Born to rule nature of the North with the aim of unsettling this particular Govt. Still, it won't fly.
For sure, some unscrupulous element parading as Politicians will gain more if Nigeria goes up in flames.
edochie12: yorubas are cowards,if it was an igbo man that was the vice president,by now everything would have been set to swear him in,think of Jonathan's era and Dora akunyiri as minister of information
Shut it. It is your likes that will still twist tales if a Yoruba man speaks up for Osibanjo.
This id1ots. should stop heating up the polity. And please this is not a ground for some miscreants to display their tribal sentiments. If war starts, everyone will feel it. Be you Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba. NB Osibanjo should surround himself with Trusted security personnel even if it is his family members.
paBuhari: By the time they add up the total sums of money spend on Buhari's medical treatment in London, the money will be enough to develop Nigeria to Dubai.
In sane climes, Buhari will be recieving treatment in jail. What a country!
Umaru is dead. And no more Save Nigeria Group. Do you still need another definition of Hypocrisy.
Udopasa: If only umunnem can introspect and have the foresight to see what's brewing, they will know how to restrategise. well, at the end of the day, it's a win win for the politicians who're good on the political chess board. udo diri unu
begod: you are underestimating ipob and you don't know where we are driving to.
You are underestimating the Lust for Power and the power of Money when a jobless youth is hungry. IGBO politicians from Anambara will find willing people who will accept money and come out to vote for them. The Reality on ground is that there is hunger in the land. Like I said earlier, we will all watch events unfold.
Dumaknesset: Yes it is igbo coup, military follow orders who were barking orders the senior Igbo military officers. That is more than obvious and who are the major beneficiaries of the coup? My igbo blothers. Why leaders of other regions were murdered, the Igbo leaders were spared, it could not have been more igbo than that.
That is why they called it a Failed Coup Attempt. Had it been it succeeded, the Majors would have been hailed as Idealists.

And Wale Ademoyega was also following orders. Seeing that he was of the same Rank with those presumably giving the orders?

Take a look at this list and come back to tell me it was an IGBO coup.
pazienza: He told Ironsi that he should not allow Ejoor and Gowon to be in Army Headquarters, saying as long they remained in Army headquarters, they would not be able to execute the coup. So, Ironsi sent Gowon on a course in the United Kingdom but he left me alone. When Igbos were worrying him that Ejoor was still there, he told them that: “This man from that small state, minority state? You can handle him, he cannot do anything. Go away, and leave me.” So, he left me[/b]
This is exactly why Nigeria failed. I can't believe that a man with such a small brain that he can't even sell a plausible lie was leading an entire region. So Gowon shouldn't be sent for his normal military overseas course that everyone was going, and Ejoor I guess also used his super human mind reading power to visualize that Gowon was sent abroad by Ironsi to avoid Gowon being in the headquarters. And a supposedly Igbo coup that was supposed to be a covert operation and one which they intended to keep away from super human Ejoor became so porous that Ejoor could hear Ironsi telling Ojukwu that Ejoor posed no threat? You can imagine the old liar even put it in quote, as a direct statement from Ironsi? Chai!
And other accounts of the story by others who witnessed it, stated that Ironsi was marked for death by the coup plotters.
