@topic
As much as i think OJB should have let the sleeping dogs lie, i don't like the way some of our celebrities use pe3ople misfortunes for publicity. D'Banj doesn't owe OJB jackshit but he should have come out to dispell the rumour that he gave 7million when he didn't even give 7naira.
That is the point.
Why will DBanj debunk a rumour he didn't originate and that is not hurting him?
I feel for the producer. Hope DBanj can just find him something. But DBanj should never call a press conference to debunk a rumour he didn't know the beginning or the ending. The amebos that started it should be the ones to debunk it
If the rumour was......

Dbanj STOLE 7MILLION NAIRA
Or
Dbanj owes a fellow artist 7million Naira

What will Dbanj do?

Properties › Re: Cost To Build Your Own House by eagleeye2: 3:29pm On Dec 30, 2013
gabbytabby: Critical factors that made this possible

1) I was living on site it was easy to supervise and correct deviations before they become a problem.
2) It was not my first project such that I had a good idea what things should cost.
3) I also had contact details of a majority of my suppliers such that I can call them to check price before I set off
4) I had demonstrated integrity in my dealing with my workers and suppliers such that even when I am not on site and something is needed I can say go and collect or ask the supplier to deliver such that people are not waiting around. Workers will also just get on with work knowing I will pay and be fair.
5) I knew where to source most of the things I needed from.
6) I had a good relationship with people in the neighbourhood and if a local worker that is incompetent comes into my compound I will get a call warning me of this fact almost straightaway or if something fishy is going on, I get to know pretty quickly.
7) I cooked for all the people staying overnight every night and provided a place for them to stay so that they are able to reserve energy for the work the next day instead of battling traffic problems.
cool I was very careful in choosing my contractors such that if for example a contractor quotes 200k for a job that should cost 50k, I would not use him even if he later agrees to do it for 45k cos from experience they dont tend to do a good job and spend a lot of time looking to steal or play games by hoping to get more money or they later abandon the project or I abandon them. I will rather go for one who say 60k to 80k and we negotiate and I know that I might end up paying 80k or look for additonal work to help him make the 80k if possible.
9) As a woman, there are those that object to being supervised by a woman or someone they think they are older than (some dont even realise that I am older than them and they start to wonder when my brothers come round and in their 4x4 still they show yoruba respect ) and most of them are easy to spot cos you call them to give you a quote and they are giving the quote and explanation to the bricklayer or another male worker around and some go as far as say you wont understand the cock and bull they are trying to explain.
I will like to carve out a two bedroom ensuite from a structure that was meant for garage before. We no longer used it as such.
What extimate can you give me?
I believe I am not starting from foundation.

Preceedo: 1. "When are you going?"- A polite way of saying "are you still here". Just pick ur things and go immediately when a guy says this.
Some girls don't understand what it means by overstaying their welcome. If I ask you when are you going? Babe, just know that you blocking some other parole wey I don arrange.
Preceedo: 3."I'm busy for now"-
Most times I will tell you, I'm busy for now, can I call you some other time? Babe you are not my priority now.... when I have your time, I will pay attention to you.
Preceedo: 5." What do you mean"- When ur arguing with a guy and he asks what you mean. He's surprise that you are so right, he knows you are on point and may discover the secret so he pretends not to understand.
There is no other explanation. Babe you are onto me, so I got feign ignorance before you burst my bubbles
Preceedo: 7. "Do you have a boyfrieend?"-
I don't mind cheating/sleeping with you, but don't just fall in love with me. If I ever ask a girl this question it only means I doubt if I am going to last with her. And your yes, is my escape route in future.
My ideal girl never gets to hear that question. Infact, I pretend as if we are the only people that matters in this whole world. (I don't care about your boyfriend, I want you I am going after you)

Preceedo: 8. "You're looking alright/okay"- You are not beautiful. Just average.
Nothing to add.
Preceedo: 9. "Okay, no problem"- This does not mean the case is settled. It means "wait and see".
I am daring you, and I am so gonna used it against you in future.
Preceedo: 11. " I don't understand you these days"- I have seen another better chick outside. U've been replaced already.
Or you are getting on my nerves..... be very careful if you still want this relationship.
Preceedo: 12. "Do you love me?"- He is not expecting a "Yes or No". He is saying "Prove it". May be on bed.
I can't explain, why it's mostly virgins that get to hear this.....maybe cos we feel they are naive/innocent.
Preceedo: 16. "I'll call you". Pls don't call me.
Please you are disturbing me right now. If I love your voice so much I would have called........ Almost the same with "I am busy"

And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Galatians 2:16
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Romans 10:4, says:
"Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes,"
Christianity Etc › Re: I Agree Tithing Is Biblical - So Where Does The Money Go? by eagleeye2(op): 3:46pm On Dec 22, 2013
GentleMimi: Okay, let us ask the question. What is the tithe used for?
''...that there may be meat im my house''. As i said above, the people of old were into livestock and plant farming. They didn't work in offices and companies. Payment was usually made with livestock and food produce alongside physical money. The ''food in the storehouse'' being referred to was for the Priests of God because they were instructed to face their priestly duties, hence, the responsiblity of the people to cater for their needs.
The same applies to REAL men of God. It is the ''produce'' brought to the church by members (WILLINGLY) that serves as their rewards, for them to face their pastorly duties squarely.
I believe the REAL Men of God includes those that are floating 'Private Empires' from the produce brought WILLINGLY by their members.
I think the Priests of old were not allowed to own properties as Pastor Kun pointed out.
Christianity Etc › Re: I Agree Tithing Is Biblical - So Where Does The Money Go? by eagleeye2(op): 3:40pm On Dec 22, 2013
Pastor Kun: I am sorry Levites do not mean priests and pastors, that's a misconception. If Pastors truly believe they are the same as levites then they should not be allowed to own property like the levites in the bible.
Okay. Then we can say that the nearest to the Levites are the Catholic Priests, because majority of them don't own properties.... Is that a safe assertion Pastor Kun?
Christianity Etc › Re: I Agree Tithing Is Biblical - So Where Does The Money Go? by eagleeye2(op): 3:29pm On Dec 22, 2013
Mimi, please let's study that portion of the Bible.

Malachi 3:10 New King James Version
10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the L ORD of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.
NB
The bolded says, "that there may be food (meat) in my house".
Now do you think that the portion was talking about money or agricultaral produce?
I think if it were money it could have said "that there may be silver or gold"........ that aside.....Are we not supposed to think of what these tithes we give are used for?
If we can question other religious practises that comes from the Law of moses, why can't we question how these tithes are used? Or is there anywhere it's written that tithes can be used by the Levites (priests) anyhow they deem fit?
Christianity Etc › Re: I Agree Tithing Is Biblical - So Where Does The Money Go? by eagleeye2(op): 3:11pm On Dec 22, 2013
^^^^
So, Pastor Kun you are of the opinion that tithes brought to the house of God should be eaten by the Levites [AkA Priests and Pastors] who work in the Lord's Vineyard. And the widows and the poor should partake of these tithes.......? Does this summarize your point.

Pastor Kun: Whilst tithing as instructed to the Jews is biblical and it was tithes of agricultural produce, tithing of money from income preached in churches today has NO biblical basis and it can at best be described as a fraudulent manipulation of scriptures.
Pastor Kun, lets assume that the Biblical Tithes are monetised. Can you please re-phrase your answer...... I am interested in getting as many views as possible. Because we now have men turning themselves to "Untouchables" because of the obsene amount they control.

.How did God mandate the church to spend the money collected from tithe?
.
.If you just tithe because the Bible says so, do you care where the money goes? Or Doesn't matter to you whatever is done with the money?
.
.Must I tithe in a church? If yes, must it be my own Church/Denomination? If Yes, must it be in my own Parish/Branch?
.
.NB
Please let's discuss without insults.

2 Thessalonians 3:8-10

8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

harjiboyede: some percentage of this 50 50 naira offering is left in the parish, some percentage is sent to the province while a little percent is sent to national headquarter. Now do you understand?
So its the little percentage sent to the Headquarters that is used in Building The Redeemers University?...... Sorry, someone said they also have Investors (I am assuming business investors who wants a return on their investments)
And the private Jets are Gifts from people who love Daddy G.O. so so much.
NB
When will all our Daddy G.O.s in different 'Corporate Churches' decide to pull resourses together and 'FEED THE MULTITUDE'....... Will that be too much to ask?
Christianity Etc › Re: Pastor Adeboye Is A Gay Cultist - Kemi Olunloyo (The Former Governor's Daughter) by eagleeye2: 1:48pm On Dec 22, 2013
GentleMimi: Do u know the number of ''full time'' pastors that get paid salaries monthly? Do u know how many millions of naira get spent on feeding masses during monthly and annual services? No.
The fact that i earn N10 a month is not an excuse for me not to pay tithe and offering. There is no excuse for robbing urself (i find it difficult to belive u can rob God,lol!) .
I can't remember where the Apostles where paid SALARY in the Bible. It got to a stage Paul admoninshed his listeners that anyone who will not work should not eat. Also Paul was never lazy and he provided for himself.
Now the Whites that brought Christianity to Nigeria never lived off the sweat of the poor..... Please remove sentiments. Tithing is good and it is recommended in the Bible that you should tithe. No arguement about that
But where people bring in thier tithe and MOGs use it to set up business ventures that does not benefit majority of those who are tithing is a wrong approach to Religion. And that is why we have every D,ick and Harry telling any gullible soul he or she sees that he is called to work in the Lords Vineyard.
NB
Two 'Evangelists' have approached me at different times (I do not know them before) and said to me that I am Called. But my reply has always been that "When God calls me, I will answer His call and the Call will be unmistaken". I can't imagine myself taken from those that have not and feeding on their sweat.
Pastors are meant to be SHEPHARDS IN THE LORD'S VINEYARD.
Someone should study 2 Thessalonians 3:6-8

GentleMimi: How much is the ''so called'' offering? People keep nagging abt ''offering and tithes''. If it were based on that,RCCG would not hv gone global today. INVESTORS! The university is not owned by Adeboye, but RCCG. The school has a board of directors, please! People shld be careful hw they accuse others. If u really want to understand RCCG finances, pls talk to the church treasurer and auditor.
As for planes and jets...lol! You hv no idea! The man recieves gifts and favours without asking. The fact that a christian is wealthy does not mean he is a sinner. That is ''poverty mentality''.
The university was built by investors and lovers of Christ. Pls,never assume that those who made their little contributions are all poor masses. No!
People ask what Adeboye or the church has done? Must he publicize his acts? There are scholarships, welfare packages and other things. Must he feed the whole nation before we realise it? Anyway, humans are insatiable.
I feel every accusation shld hv a proof to back it up! This lady has been on Adeboye's case for some time now....i really dn't know.
Please I am not accusing Rev. Adeboye of anything.
Now, assuming that the tithe of about 1000 members say in Benin is just N500, that means every sunday Benin parish gets N500,000. Multiply this by 12 for a year, that is N6,000,000.
I know RCCG has branches in all states of the Federation, multiply N6,000,000 by 37 that is N222,000,000. Please tell me again that the poor are not doing anything?

To the second bolded...... Are you trying to tell me that a man or woman who drives a car may be worth N4 or N5 million, will give a GIFT worth over N500million to another man all in the name of Daddy G.O.? I don't think so.
Without the poor in RCCG your pastors and Daddy G.O. will not live as large as they are living.
