I am looking for 48v sir. Not 12 or 24v. I am also looking for 1500w and below.

what u seek is almost impossible to find as a single unit...48v 1500w, minimum 48v i have seen is 3.2kw
only option is to buy separate 48v charger and satchet inverter 48v

Can anybody please reccomend a good 48v inverter with capacity less than 1500w output please. My total load is 350w, 400w so all this 3500W, 5000w inverter is just not it for me. Currently using 12v but I want to move to a bigger 5.12kwh battery but if I stay on 12v with this kind of battery size, I will end up spending too much money on wiring as well as charge controller. Lets not even talk of the heat generated from needing 80A to 100A to charge a 400ah 5.12kwh Lifepo4 battery in 5hours if it was 12v compared to just 20A I will need on 48v for the same battery capacity. So anybody with any good recommendation please. 48v inverter. Less than 1500w(1.5kva). Or even 1000w sef. A good and well known brand please.

THERE IS 2KW 12V HYBRID WITH INBUILT 80AMPS CC..CAN ALSO GRID CHARGE AT 60AMPS
24v 3kw hybrid with same specs.
both are high voltage hybrids.

Cc Bassdow

This client got an MPPT charge controller rated 40A and 520W

The set up is 1kva 12V

He has 2 set of 300W in parallel this is like 600W

Wanted to know my opinion

Told him the charge controller would not be able to handle the excess difference and might affect the controller. and even if the CC no get issue the excess is useless.

That’s what I think.

I would like you to share more technical reason boss.

WHATS THE VOC MAX INPUT of the charge controller?.
600w on a 520w max cc isn't an issue. few panels generate at max. also you can over array by up to 20%--zero issues...the dangerous part is exceeding the cc voc rating...an that one dey fry cc

If you have a penchant for some risk taking, you can try what I once did in similar circumstance. I refused to pay the duties and the package was returned to sender. I filed a dispute and got refunded. While this stunt may not end up as mine did, it's just something worth considering should you see paying this hefty sum as something you can't do.

Hi All,

Since this recent issue with GasCos and GenCos, electricity supply has been pretty terrible, I now get around 5 to 6 hours of light. Luckily for me, I have an existing solar set up and I bought lithium batteries in October last year.

My existing set up is:
8 solar panels of 300w each
2.5kva, 24v inverter (it had an inbuilt solar charge controller which went bad and I had to get an external charge controller last year)
60A MPPT solar charge controller
2 100Ah 25.6v lithium ion batteries connected in series, which, if I am not mistaken, gives me about 5.12kwh of power (give or take efficiency losses)

Now to the load I put on it:
65 inch TCL TV
100w samsung inverter fridge (though I recently changed the compressor, so who knows if it is still consuming 100w)
An old 175w scanfrost deep freezer (always on, not sure it cycles on and off like the inverter fridge)
Lights
Fans (ceiling fans - I never even knew these consumed so much energy until this Nepa issue when I found out one fan consumes 75w,that's almost as much as my fridge!)

I am getting about 10-12 hours of power of mixed use. Two ceiling fans + fridge and freezer will run down the battery from 100% to 5% in about 8 hours based on my calculation/observation. This means I can't run both overnight, and so I pick and choose to ensure the battery power lasts till morning when the sun comes back up.

I have two questions/concerns:
1. Is this level of drain fair enough or do you think there could be a problem with my set-up?
2. How do I get to 12 hours of power with my major appliances (fridge and freezer) running constantly? Do I need to start thinking of inverter freezers (I guess technology has improved in recent years). Or will I need to get an additional battery?

Many thanks in advance and apologies if I have asked any questions for which the answers seem obvious - I have not really paid detailed attention to alternative energy until this year.

We have adviced people severally..lithium battery doesn't perform optimally in series. You are likely not charging the pack fully.

Discuss with the pack builder..send it back..let him convert it to a single 24v pack.

2ndly these estimates wont give u an accurate result. If u want accuracy..get a load meter/device.charge ur battery full.and measure the exact watthour drained from the pack...then can u be firmly sure if ur pack is behaving well or not

The 150a 16s smart Daly bms I just bought stopped working when I switched it on and it's crashing frequently.
I've put it in deep sleep using 65535s and the issue is still on.
If I uninstall the app and install it again, it works very well but when I close it for some times and I want to open it again, it would stop working.
The connections are in order and the all the 16 cells displayed.

strange, it may be app or phone related. try installing the app on another phone. hope u are downloading it from playstore?.
unplug the BT dongle and replug, ensuring its seated properly.

CATL is superior to eve, only issue has been catl focused on the EV market. and didnt sell EV grade cells to non EV users. also being a bigger company made it more difficult. so this made the market to be filled with used or ev rejected cell grades

EVE on the other hand could sell her cells to non EV customers if the quantity is high enough. so the market had more of brand new eve cells, both ev and non eve grade cells.

i will take a brand new catl cell anytime over a brand new eve cell....fi its same price

Finally, I saw continue on the application portal and clicked on it, I saw interview dates in June, July, August

I guess I will need to go for physical interview based on this?

I am stressed because it means I have to wait and look for interview dates again… I saw June but didn’t choose it.

so does that mean, u were selected for follow up interview?..

Not true.
I eat and dine with lithium ion grin
You divided by 4 instead of 3.
So it is 3.5v per cell super safe.

ok yours is lithium ion - nominal voltage 3.7v

I deal mainly with lithium phosphate - lifepo4---nominal voltage 3.2v

that's what caused the confusion. ur maths is correct for lithium ion, but not correct for LIFEPO4

isangjohnson:

I've about 15 pcs of 12v inverters that the lvd has been set to 10.5v and that was very unfortunate.
I will only make sure that the cells are well top balanced and set to 2.5v lvd. One major advantage is that the 12v lithium battery hardly get out of balance when compared with 24v and 48v pack.
Though it's wrong to allow the bms to handle the lvd instead of the inverter, but what are the consequences of allowing the bms to do that job?

No need draining to 2.5v for lifepo4. there is not much capacity below 3volts. frm my battery capacity tester..its just about 10% capacity between 3volts and 2.5volts. i set my lvd to 3v, peace of mind. for new well balanced cells, no need for balancers sef

The best battery for 10.5 lvd is lithium ion.
No inverter that i know of can drain it to 9v (3v per cell) despite the fact that spec sheet says 2.75v. However, one souer like data drained it to 9.45v.

UR MATH IS WRONG.........
though lithium can handle draining to 10.5v ie 2.65v per cell, it may unbalance the pack, if you dont hv a good balancer.

Observe Nigerian market.
I will love it if any one can point out an Indian lithium battery and inverter.

Besides, the aim was to control waste dumping

i really really dont understand your logic.....
innovation is the lifeblood of the world
as per inverter&batteries india is like nokia, .... they refused to evolve and switch to android, but choose to stick to the old symbian OS......and the world left them behind...

indian inverter and battery makers are still stuck in the past, they have refused to evolve and innovate...still churning out rubbish in 2024!!!.

take luminous for instance--- the produce flooded batterys that they themselves know requires 14.7volt bulk and 13.8volt float and periodic/monthly desulphation at 15.5volt for 4hrs, yet they design/produce inverters that output only 14.4volt bulk and 13.5volt float, has no periodic equalization function whatsoever....they also use a useless fixed LVD of 10.5v which at that voltage the battery is irreversibly damaged as well
whats really is their aim for this bad/destructive design philosophy??, which they have stubbornly refused to change/upgrade for more than 15yrs now, ....na only them sabi

..i call this stone age design or design to fail. same people u are prasing & defending

anybody still buying any luminous inverter and their likes in this day and age is largely ignorant or not well informed

you have a point,
however i have seen several dumb yphako inverters/charge controllers.
foolish inverters without editable charge voltage settings and proper smart battery type switch useless or non existent LVD & HVD settings......... in this day and age, how can a company make such products?. luminous and mecury are also fond of this poor design philosophy issh

i also saw a yohako charge controller, same issue-- it just has low and high for battery type, ,
until they wake up and start producing smart user friendly products...i will continue rating them low..

Any company still making products with such poor designs is not serious...

Good morning, I want to get an inverter. I have an option of getting a Yohako 2.5kva hybrid inverter or a mercury 2.4kva hybrid inverter. Which would you advise I go for? The mercury is much more expensive at 398k while the yohako, I saw it on jiji for 230k.

Is the yohako a good product? Are the potential benefits of the mercury worth buying it over the yohako?

Lastly, are hybrid inverters worth it or I should just go for a normal pure sine wave inverter?

yohako isnt among the good inverters...also mecury.

why not get growatt or felicity hybrids...or even powmr or sorotec. those hv a decent track record

Hi guys, I live in the US, but I want to implement solar for my family back home in Nigeria. I am scared that the quality isn't up to what we get in the US. Especially the Lithium Ion Phospate batteries. I was thinking of sending the materials from the US, but the cost will be outrageous. Also, the US uses 120V while Nigeria uses 220V.

My question here is, do you guys have reliable sellers in Nigeria I can buy from? And what brand do you guys recommend? Is there any reliable website you guys buy from? My family lives in Lagos Nigeria.

Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

Unless you have shitloads of money to throwaway, or you are setting up a mission critical NASA office in your family house in lagos, getting all the stuff you need from usa isnt worth it...
if you insist you can get the inverter and charge controller from usa, morning star or victron...but you would spend x3 less if you get a decent model like deye or solarx in nigeria..........and upto x5 less if u get growatt/felicity /sorotec etc in nigeria.

3.2kwh pylontech lithium battery is about 1.5m naira/ 1200usd.............but you can get a whooping 14kwh decent lithium battery in nigeria for under 4m, or a little over 2.5m naira, if you go the diy-custom built models .

some tried and trusted installers are on this forum..discuss with them and have them setup ur system for you.

Is this how the Daly bms work?
Jk and Jbd that I've tested, once you link them to your phone app once, you don't need to go and restart them again, you only open your phone app, switch on the phone bluethooth and location and you're good to go.

THE BT is going to sleep. change the bt idle time to the magic number '65535' seconds. this will prevent the bms from ever going to sleep

might be battery dropping too low...during periods of bad weather or bad charge controller permitting back-feeding of panels at night.......thus draining the battery.

The system runs with 3 units SRNE inverters (which I trust to be "decent" -connected in parallel.
I use Orange Pi with Solar Assistant for data logging daily since the system was installed.
This logs daily energy harvested from solar and consumed by the loads, and also the SOC of the batteries at every time.

The system doesn't shutdown by 5pm, the battery energy or SOC just drops from 200% to within 59% to 48 %.

(The batteries must have been fully charged till floating - end of charge current pull from the battery is about 0A to 1.8A on average.

With a load of about 2000w connected to the system, the battery will dip to 48% immediately the sun goes down.

All the 4 battery packs drops instantly to 48% soc? At the same time?

If so i suspect some cells in the pack are out of balanced.which is why i prefer these diy/custom built packs, with bluetooth BMS that enables you see the individual cell capacity & voltage.

But strange that all 4 packs will have this issue simultaneously. Must be a very poorly built pack...
At this point, only option is to explore the warranty option.

If out of waranty, open up and capacity test the cells, top balance then slap on a jk bt bms with 2amps balance current

Thanks for your response sir.

I appreciate.

I currently have very serious issues with the batteries I bought from YOHAKO and I want to be sure the issues are not peculiar to me as the dealer wants to make it seem. I bought 5units of those batteries. I used 4units for a setup, and they cannot support 2000w of load for 10hrs.

Once the sun goes down by about 5pm, the battery drops immediately.

I want to have more feedback so I will be sure this is not peculiar to my case only.

Is the setup hooked to a decent hybrid inverter?.
Or do you have a means of logging daily energy harvested from solar panels and energy consumed by load.

You say the system shuts down by 5pm and you installed the setup, so am assuming you are a bit knowledgeable.

1. Are the 4 batt banks connected with same cable size and lengths to a busbar..wherein the inverter picks up the energy from?

2. When the system shuts down by 5pm...have you checked the individual SoC or voltage of each battery pack?

I actually bought it brand New.
Used to work great in the past but now it's disappointing.
Is there a service center here in Lagos I can take it to? If yes I would love to take it there for inspection. If they can repair it, I will buy another pack to boost it to 10kw.

Felicity isn't among the best in terms of lithium battery, its like buying a kia and expecting it to behave like a benz, if you are out of warranty...then it could still be fixed, unlike leadacid, once its dead..its dead... the felicity pack needs to be opened, top balanced and a balancer added. depending on your budget, the bms could also be changed to a Bluetooth type, that shows you the capacity and voltage of each individual cell inside. this is where custom or DIY battery packs trumps these low end factory lithium. this ops I outlined above would have been super simple on a custom pack, but would be more tedious and expensive on factory packs because the cells are welded together, not screwed,

if you are in my zanga, may hv considered helping you fix the pack, however confirm your location, you may be lucky somebody knowledgable about lithium packs would be willing to help you repair it.

don't mind the kazeems saying lithium is bad...it reminds me of the car kazeems that discouraged people from buying automatic cars when it came out, giving foolish useless reasons that sounded ok to them...when the koko was that..they simply didn't understand the new technology!!!.

Long answer....yes, if your windturbine has its own charge controller...wch you then connect to the inverter battery to charge it...

An inverter just needs a battery to work, it doesnt care about the charging source.

Windturbines dont work well in nigeria, cos of the poor wind speed in naija. However if you live by the coast, u may fare better

Thought they said lithium iron phosphate (LFP) does not catch fire nor explode?

There are too many unknowns in the case to have a definite cause of fire..

Eg, i received a batch of lfp cells from china, that were improperly packed..and this resulted in one of the cell terminals getting slightly depressed and puncturing the cell...with resultant leakage of few drops of whatever liquid the cell is made up.

However the cell didnt have an obvious damage.
A greedy person or seller could have simply wiped off the leakage and used or sold that cell....

That cell when then used to build a pack could be quite unpredictable. So i simply laid it aside...and its gathering dust in my store.

Nb: nobody shud ask me to gift them the cell...cos i won't grin
