Also no agricultural producing states feeds the nation because we all buy food. Feeding the nation, means giving everyone food for free. The south south and south east feeds the nation with her oil resources for free.
The investment in your agriculture comes from oil money which is from the south. If the arewa NE and NW refuses to sell food to the south, we will not die, you will be the loser. We can buy food from else where.

Sometimes, I feel like Nigeria will not progress unless the oil completely dried up from our land. Oil is truly a curse, it provides free money to politicians, which completely renders them ineffective.

These things are usual occurrences in authoritarian states. Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and even here in Nigeria. They force light-weight offenders and sometimes innocent people to admit to crimes commited by high-profile citizens or they frame up relatives and associates of opposition groups or politicians and put them through inhumane treatment to obtain information of interest.

I read with tears the story of Navid Afkari who was framed up, tortured, falsely accused and made to confess to a crime he never committed, and eventually sentenced to death.

What about Chima Ikwunado who was tortured and killed by SARS police officers.

Even the self-acclaimed civilized and democratic United States still have Guantanamo bay to this day, where they torture profiled terrorist suspects.

It just made me realize that humans are murderous and heartless, and there is nowhere in the world that real freedom and democracy exists. We're all at the mercy of the powers that be. Putin, Buhari, Biden, Trudeau, Macron, KJU, Xi Jinpin are all evil.

There is no 19 northern governors. The middle beltan sates plus taraba and adamawa are not north. North is the NW and the rest of the NE states.

This afternoon, I will inaugurate the 25km Uyo-Ikot Ekpene road. It is furnished with digital street lights and links the 7 Local Government Areas of Uyo, Itu, Ibiono, Ikono, Abak, Essien Udim and Ikot Ekpene.

If every state exploits their natural comparative advantages due to their GPS , I think state like Kogi will start taxing any person traveling across the state whether air, road. That alone is enough revenue for Kogi State for example. By so doing Nigeria will eventually disintegrate into pieces and become lawless due to multiple laws from each state. Each state governor will become local warlord. That will bring no peace.

Many still don't understand the write up or the VAT debacle yet they want to write something. Nigerians are very sentimental people that is why we can hardly get things right.

However the proposal by the HoR is a welcome development as it will create soft landing for the over 30 states that are insolvent.

The bitter reality is that if States are to take control of their respective state VAT over 30 states of the federation can't meet up going by their current standing.
Apart from Lagos, Rivers, Oyo, Ogun and one or two States in the SS including FCT, the remaining States are insolvent. Yet their indigenes won't allow us on nairaland about state control whereas their Governors are scared to stand on their own.

Modified: Pls I'm not against States taking total control of their resources but the process should be gradual and intentional.
I've listened well enough to the VAT debacle and it is reasonable to factor out convenient grounds. The FG stands to lose nothing except the individual states.

Stop counting FCT. FCT is a parasite, it is not a viable territory. It only exist because the FG exists there. Nothing productive what so ever happens in that place. It just survives by sucking resources from the south.

I just hope he isn't adding the middle belt region to his north because we are not northerners, geopolitical, culturally, for most of us religiously and ideologically.
The north is Arewa north east and north west only; with the exception of taraba which a Christian state geographically in the middlebelt area and located in the southern part of the Niger ; and adamawa another mostly Christian state and located in the middlebelt.

The so called 2 richest northern states are rich due to fAAC gotten from southern resources. Also Kano and kaduna combined have more federal infrastructure located there than the rest of the country. So federal government patronage , again gotten from southern and middle belt wealth is contributing to the GDP of Kano and kaduna. Think about it lagos and rivers contribute to the GDP of kano and kaduna and not the other way round.

Fulani are a major tribe in this country, Fulani may even be greater than Hausa. How is it that a "minority" tribe is consistently voted into power? Is it by force that a minority should rule the majority? Can an Enugu man win in Ogun? Your logic is flawed from the beginning. Fulani don't care about being declared a "majority" tribe as Fualni are almost up to 40 million in the North alone not including those indigenous to the southern parts of the nation.

All we are saying is that NC deserves the presidency and the North is prepared to give the SE the VP. Anyone against this is against justice.

. The logic is not that simple. Simple logic shows that if Fulani were bigger than the Hausa, fulbe would have been spoken in the NE and NW and not Hausa. The Fulani has never been known to be in the top 5 tribes even from historical census.
Also I gave you an example in Syria, where minority tribe has been ruling over the majority. Other examples, in my state Kogi, we the Egbirras are more than the Igalla but the igallas have been ruling till now. In delta state, delta northern igbos are more than the urhobos but the igbos have not ruled delta till now. If the urhobos wanted an urhobo ticket for governor, they would have still won because they get support from other tribes.
Finally you cannot use voter registration for population census because in the south and middle belt people are not as politically savvy like the NE and NW. People here don't bother because they feel government hasn't done anything for them and are scared to vote.
While in the NE and NW government is the main employer up there and they depend on government.
Plus alot of these registration figures are not to be trusted. This is Nigeria after all.
There are more active mobile phone users in the south and middle belt than the North but I won't say this is a true reflection of our population.
We need a real census. Dare I say that you will be shocked that Nigeria population is barely 180million.

The North is united and will field a candidate sensitive to the needs of the North. There's enough votes in the North, so all that is needed is either the SE or SW to get behind the Northern candidate and it's a win.

It's highly unlikely that the SW will get the VP again, so it makes sense for the SE/SS to have a turn at VP in all fairness.

As a matter of inclusion, the NC or NE should get the presidency and the SE get the VP. This is an electable and acceptable solution.

There is nothing wrong with a Northerner continuing after Buhari. In fact, this current administration's major infrastructure projects are in the south. Rail lines, ports, electrical infrastructure and bridges are all being constructed in the south to the detriment of the North.

The North has been sidelined in order to please the south who have hi-jacked this administration. We need a Northerner who will focus on the needs of a region that has been long neglected.

The North believes in inclusiveness and is offering an olive branch to the SE in the form of a VP position that hasn't been held by that region since Ekwueme. Now is the time for healing.
