Travel / Re: How To Get From Yaba To Oregun And Then To Egbeda by Eastcoast33(m): 6:51pm On Feb 20, 2020
ThePansophist:
Yaba to Egbeda right?

I prefer going to Egbeda from Yaba through Ojuelegba. I believe there's Egbeda bus direct at Ojuelegba

Alternatively, if you find Ikeja bus at Yaba, take it. Anywhere around Ikeja, both along and in the interiors you can easily get buses conveying Egbeda passengers.

To get to idimu from Egbeda, board a bus heading for Ikotun, drop at Idimu Bus stop

If you wish to connect Oregun first, the Ojota route would be much better. Ask for Ojota buses

Thank you for your response... I want to connect oregun first from Yaba, then head to egbeda after everything.

Please can you kindly assist me with the process of registering on latinhire, I filled my application and I have been waiting for the 10 day review to activate my account, I haven't heard of any thing from them.

I go try upwork someday.

But, trust me, this Latinhire job is the easiest to get in.

After registering and you have taken the first test which is the test on the use of English, take the STEM test smiley

An average graduate should not have a problem passing the first test. Except you are really bad in English. If you can pass the cheap English test, then how can you provide quality and non plagiarized answers to students' questions?

Mechionu this scallywag. Nze na Ozo in Anambra is not the same nonsense you guys have in Imo state. Stop trying so hard to make it look like Anambra has anything in common with your Imo state. Ihiala in particular has nothing in common with Imo state, not culture, not language. The only thing they share is just boundary.

You have autonomous communities that have bastardized your kingship, Nze na Ozo, etc, but in Anambra we don't have autonomous communities, we maintained our kingship standards and our Nze na Ozo is by far superior than all that rubbish you people practice in Imo state. Face reality for once.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How I Got A Job In An Oil Firm Through Nairaland! by Eastcoast33(m): 6:52pm On Jan 10, 2019
itsmeurLady:
Before i begin the Gist, lemme start by saying "Happy New Year to All NLanders! Wishing You All a Fruitfull and Productive 2019!"

I have joined Nl for quite a while now but i started taking it seriously when i got out of the Uni. Nl encouraged me through some posts to be serious and active with my LinkedIn account. From here, i got a special somebori @intelligentdude (not boyfriend ooo) that helped me profesionally create a CV for my jobhunting experience. Yes, Your Cv and cover letter goes a long way too. I never for once got rejected anywhere i submitted my CV + Cover letter but that's by the way. I Was active on the job/vacancies section here on NL and applied for jobs (excluding bank jobs tho). I also got past questions from here as well, some i bought, some i didn't buy grin. So i applied to a Graduate Trainee Job in an Oil firm as a Customer Relations Officer and after so much waiting, coupled with the Grace and Favour from God, i finally Got the job and i came here to say Thank You to NL and all the amazing people who continually post jobs on these platform, i am really greatful and also to the owner of NairaLand of course. May the Almighty God continually bless and increase all of you for impacting people's lives daily. Thank You Very Much! I also met a wonderful friend here on Nl, he has been a blessing to me as well. In other words, Nairaland is not totally useless like many think, it is what u make of it at the end of the day, Stay Focused and Positive!

You might be wondering why i am writing this and talking plenty but that's because you don't know how it feels to be jobless and you dont know what it means to be favoured out of many. Just like the story of the 10 lepers, i have come to say Thank You to this FORUM! For those who are still hoping to get employed someday, just hold on, you will share your testimony too. Continue applying and make sure you are doing it right, God's Grace will see you through some day. Dont Give Up, God is not done yet! it wasn't easy for me, there were days where i cried, some days i gave up, some days i felt depressed but i never lost faith and confidence in God. Against All Odds, i believed in myself and i believed in God.

Don't be idle if you don't have a job yet, get or learn a skill like tailoring, shoemaking etc and still be applying for jobs because one thing is to learn a skill and the other thing is to fund your business but just get a skill on standby and God will see you through.

Thank You Nairaland and Nairalanders!!!!!!!!! kiss kiss kiss kiss
Nne, please can I possibly get a sample of the Cover letter and CV please. My email is Giftokwara33@gmail.com

Romance / 15 Things To Do Before Getting Married by Eastcoast33(m): 7:47am On Aug 31, 2018
Its been a while I wrote something down here, maybe because I've been really busy looking for daily bread after service year. How ever the case maybe, a lot has been on my mind and I'll be sharing some of those thoughts with you guys here. Many of us young people, as is common with this age and phase in life, tend to follow trend or join the band wagon rushing into unions and marriages. This attitude is responsible for the increase in divorce, as well as the sorrow, unhappiness, dissatisfaction and regrets, people are faced with after "rushing marriage" I decided to write down some things You Should Do Before You Get Married. Feel free to air your opinion on the topic.

1. Ask yourself why. Why this person, why right now? Don’t get married because there’s a child on the way or because it makes sense financially or because all of your friends are wifed up and you’re the last man/woman standing — it sounds stupid and obvious, but people hastily marry for the wrong reasons ALL. THE. TIME. And even though divorce appears to be really commonplace, it’s not a walk in the park and it’s definitely not free, not to speak of the physiological, social and emotional issues it brings in its wake.

2. While it’s true that society and even the media would often convince us that we’ll only feel beautiful in the arms of someone who loves and approves of us physically, when we’re alone in front of an unforgiving mirror, the only thoughts we’re left with are our own. Going into any relationship feeling ugly, unlovable, and as though you should be ashamed of the way you look is a recipe for disaster. If you think you're not worthy or capable of being touched and admired, even if someone disagrees with you, it's going to be difficult to feel their love through all the layers of self loathing. Although we all have our imperfections, it wouldn’t hurt to work on becoming happy with your body and finding some balance every day. LOVE YOURSELF.

3. Accomplish something just for you. It could be graduating from school, starting a challenging job, or just facing a fear you need to prove you can overcome. Frankly, the obstacles and goal posts we have scattered throughout our lives come in all shapes and sizes, and only you should be concerned with the parameters you set for success and accomplishment. But if we don’t do things to make ourselves happy and feel as though we accomplished something, we can easily become complacent, or feel that we shouldn’t even try, because we’ll never reach our goals. The longer we go without achieving something because we want to, the harder it will become to start up that really tasking hill.

4. Talk about the boring details. Debt. Health. Whether or not the two of you have the same ideas about where to live or if kids are on the table. You don’t want to enter into a legal contract with someone without knowing all of the facts

5. LEARN from the time you dated someone and treated them like crap. Everyone has that one relationship where they’re not particularly proud of the way they behaved. They took someone for granted, they picked fights, and acted generally like a jerk. While such behavior is certainly not commendable, you learn a lot about yourself through treating someone badly. Mainly, you realize who you don’t want to be and what kind of relationship you don’t want to have, which makes you more prepared for something like marriage. You can’t ever go back to the way you acted because it made you hate yourself. Your future husband/wife will feel relieved that you got this particular relationship training, but not with them.

6. Meet the people who raised your potential future husband/wife. Whether you like their family or not, you’ll be able to pick up on red flags that wouldn’t have come to light otherwise. The issues someone has with their family may not make or break a relationship, but you don’t really know someone until you watch them lose it on their loved ones at Christmas Day dinner.

7. Live with a member of your preferred gender identity who you’re not dating. This is the best way to adjust your expectations of who is responsible for what in a household.

8. Get your heart broken. Whether from losing a good friend, having a fight you know you were wrong in, or seeing a love you were sure was forever end prematurely — we all need to know what it feels like to be broken. Perhaps the most essential thing about a heartbreak is coming out on the other side and realizing that, no matter how badly you are hurting in the moment, it’s going to pass and you are going to be happy again. Few things manage to put future fights, anger, and sadness into perspective than getting over a real heartbreak at least once.

9. Finish university(higher education). Because you’re way too young to be married that early.

10. Have an adventure with your friends. One thing that’s really noticeable about wonderful romantic relationships is that they can often obscure, and even make us forget the wonderful relationships we have with our friends. Though these friendships should by no means diminish when we’re married, it’s important to take time to appreciate the love you have with your friends. Life can take us in many directions — and so can marriage and children — hence the more reason to have the adventures with friends you’ll remember all your life. Go on road trips/picnics, take a vacation, Do stuff that reminds you that you’re young, and free, and can afford to make a few mistakes.

11. Live alone/be alone. People can go their entire lives jumping from relationship to relationship because they’re afraid of being alone. Being alone isn’t always a walk on the beach, but it’s important to develop the capacity to rely on yourself for happiness before you pass off so much of that weight to another human.

12. Fall in love with a friend. Many people have this really wrong idea that only the people you're intimate with/ marry are the people you are supposed to fall head-over-heels in love with? What a sad life we would all be living if we were incapable of loving someone just for their sense of humour, their level of commitment to friendships, their love for God and kids or their funny harmless mannerisms. Take the time to experience love in all the forms that you routinely mistake for being “boring old friendship.”

13. Be good to your parents. Few things in life will be more exciting for your parents than seeing you find someone and get married, likely starting a family of your own, and certainly bringing a new family into theirs. Why would we ever want to taint that with a relationship that’s strained, disrespectful, and full of alternating miscommunication and silence? Our parents deserve to be loved, to be enjoyed for the people they are, and most of all, included in our lives. The beauty of bringing two families together is very much in the love for your own being grown and shared into the love of the whole new family unit. Shouldn’t we be sharing as much of that as possible?

14. Move out of your parents’ house, learn how to pay bills, manage your money, and live responsibly. Trust me, the least you can do before moving in with someone FOR ETERNITY is get some exposure about what it’s actually like to take care of yourself.

15. TAKE YOUR PLAN TO GOD IN PRAYER.
Its quite necessary to seek God's face before going into such an important union as wedlock
