Celebrities / Lady Gaga Vows Never To Work With Singer R.kelly Again by Eazybay(m): 5:18pm On Jan 10, 2019
Lady Gaga has vowed to remove a duet she recorded with R&B singer R.Kelly from streaming services and never collaborate with him again.

Her comments, in a lengthy Instagram post late on Wednesday, followed a new television documentary in which multiple women accuse Kelly of sexual misconduct, sometimes with minors.

Kelly, 52, the Chicago singer and record producer best known for hit song “I Believe I Can Fly,” has repeatedly denied accusations in recent years of abuse, including those made in the new documentary. The Grammy-winning singer was tried and acquitted on child pornography charges in Chicago in 2008.

His attorney has not responded to Reuters requests for comment about the six-hour documentary “Surviving R.Kelly,” broadcast last week on the Lifetime channel. It features interviews with several women making on camera allegations of sexual, mental and physical abuse by Kelly, as well as interviews with some of his former managers and producers.

Reuters is unable to independently verify the accusations. Gaga said she believed the women and found the documentary “absolutely horrifying.” “I stand behind these women 1000 percent, believe them, and know they are suffering and in pain, and feel strongly that their voices should be heard and taken seriously,” she said in her Instagram posting.

Gaga in 2013 released a duet with Kelly called “Do What U Want (With My Body.)” M. Night Shyamalan’s comic-book movie ‘Glass’ premieres in London. “I intend to remove the song off of iTunes and other streaming platforms and will not be working with him again,” she wrote on Wednesday. “I’m sorry, both for my poor judgment when I was young, and for not speaking out sooner.”

A Chicago prosecutor on Tuesday urged anyone alleging abuse by Kelly to come forward so claims could be investigated. “There is nothing that can be done to investigate these allegations without the cooperation of both victims and witnesses. We cannot seek justice without you,” Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx told a news conference.

The U.S. entertainment industry has been roiled for more than a year by scores of allegations of sexual misconduct against producers, actors and directors, many of whom have lost their jobs or been forced to step down. NAN/Reuters

Politics / Tinubu Slumped, Now In Hospital After Appointment Into Buhari’s APC - FFK by Eazybay(m): 3:45pm On Jan 10, 2019
…Said terrible things always happen to Tinubu each time he’s given something in APC

Former minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, has said that the former Governor of Lagos state and Co-Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, collapsed shortly after he was appointed Chairman of Buhari’s Campaign Council. He said Tinubu always experiences terrible things each time he was given a major role in the APC government.

Fani-Kayode who disclosed this in a couple of tweets on Thursday, said the National Leader of the APC is currently in the hospital where he was rushed to after he allegedly collapsed during his appointment as Chairman of Buhari’s Campaign Council. The former Minister who urged Nigerians, especially the Yorubas, to pray for Tinubu also said that he loves the APC leader and has no personal beef with him.

According to him, “Last year on the day that Bola Tinubu was appointed Chairman of the APC Reconciliation Commitee,he lost his son. 3 days ago, on the day that he was appointed Chairman of Buhari’s Campaign Council, he slumped, collapsed and was rushed to the hospital where he remains till today.”

“Despite our political differences I love Bola Tinubu and I urge every Nigerian and particularly the Yoruba to pray for him. That God should preserve and protect him and make him understand His ways.”

Politics / INEC Express Worry Over Uncollected 500,000 Pvc’s In Enugu - Vanguard by Eazybay(m): 3:36pm On Jan 10, 2019
Dr. Emeka Ononamadu, the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Enugu State has expressed worry over uncollected 500,000 Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) in the state.

INEC PVCs Ononamdu disclosed that only 600,000 of the 1.1 million PVCs had so far been collected by the electorates in the state. He made the observation during the National Orientation Agency’s campaign against invalid (void) votes held in Enugu on Thursday.

According to him, it is worrisome that 500,000 PVC’s are yet to be collected barely six weeks to the general elections. The REC said the reason for the development could be attributed to the notion that electorates votes did not count. “Please dispel any rumour that your votes will not count and as such, you have made it a reason not to collect your PVC and use it during election. “I can categorically tell you that INEC has put in place adequate measures to ensure that you excise your right and vote for your choice person without being robbed of such vote.

“One of such measures is the use of smart card readers which will help guide against issues such as ballot snatching and rigging hitherto rampant before. “It is for this reason that politicians are not jostling to buy your PVC’s because vote snatching and rigging has been curtailed with the introduction of smart card readers. “That is why there were no cases of ballot snatching and rigging during the Osun and Ekiti elections but the issue of vote buying,” he said.

Ononamadu hinted that INEC would embark on a weeklong aggressive campaign from Jan. 16 to ensure that all PVC’s at its disposal were collected. The REC disclosed that there would be over 4,000 voting locations and 2,958 polling units in the 260 electoral wards spread across the 17 local government areas of the state.

Moreso, he noted, that INEC Enugu has made provision for 6,000 smart card readers to adequately cover all the voting locations and minimize error or malfunctioning as against 4,000 needed for the state. (NAN)

Politics / Amaechi's Wife Begs Women To Pray For Her Husband - Vanguard by Eazybay(m): 2:41pm On Jan 10, 2019
Wife of the Minister of Transportation, Dame Judith Amaechi has called on women in the country to pray for her husband, Hon Rotimi Amaechi against attempts to destroy his credibility.

Amaechi Dame Amaechi at the Noble Women Movement for Buhari and Osinbajo (NWM4BO) in Abuja, Thursday alluded to the recently released audio tapes in which her husband was allegedly criticising the present administration, appealed to women to pray for her husband.

“My husband Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the DG Campaign for the president is working tirelessly but I want you to pray for him because of the too many eyes that are on him not by any fault of his but because God’s favour is upon him. Pray that the will of God will be done in Nigeria and that no man will take his position or take away what belongs to him,” she said

Politics / Amaechi Reacts To Blackmail Reports - Vanguard by Eazybay(m): 2:30pm On Jan 10, 2019
ABUJA-MINISTER of Transportation, Mr Chibuike Amaechi has reacted to blackmail reports against him, especially as he has asked an unidentified blackmailer to go to hell for asking him to pay him N5 million, saying he was too busy to attend to such a frivolity.

It will be recalled that in September last year; a blackmailer had requested that the Minister pay a total sum of N5m to stop a particular story against the backdrop that he, Amaechi did not attend to him.

The yet to be identified blackmailer who called one of the Minister’s friends to demand for a ransom of 5 million naira, days after the Minister had a private meeting with journalists covering the Ministry, continued with his threats to Amaechi that he would go public if he did not respond to him.

A close source of the Ministry told Vanguard that the Minister was angry with reporters assigned to the Ministry over the private discussions that had become a source of blackmail from one of the reporters.

The said meeting was meant for assigned reporters of the Ministry but several other journalists from print, television, bloggers and online media found their ways into the meeting.

Ameachi who was apparently betrayed over a friendly meeting where nothing was expected to be published, cut off from reporters in the Ministry for three months.

The balckmailer has been blackmailing the minister to pay for the recording or else he (blackmailer) was ready to quote him out of context and make the whole world discredit the Minister’s loyalty to the President.

On the issue that Mr. President does not read, Amaechi was actually stressing the fact that the President is focused on building infrastructures and does not care about all the negative things people write to distract him from his mandate.

“And come to think of it, the President does not have all the time to read the entire write up by journalists that is why he has a media aide. Our President is not an ordinary citizen.”

His real statement was, “Corruption is a problem in Nigeria. The problem is that everybody wants free money but one good thing is that under this administration there is no free money at all and people are not happy about that.

“One of my friends once told me that the solution to fighting corruption is to gather all the corrupt Nigerians and throw them into an ocean. This is because corruption has eaten deep into the fabrics of our society, everybody wants the easy way and you all know that when things like this have remained for a long time, it will not be easy to fight against.”

Crime / Soldiers Beat Teenagers To Pulp Over Theft Allegation - Vanguard by Eazybay(m): 9:52am On Jan 07, 2019
Two siblings, Aregbesola Warif, 16, and Aregbesola Quadris, narrowly escaped being lynched by two men suspected to be personnel of the Nigerian Army over allegation of phone theft, at Maryland area of Lagos.

The siblings, in the company of two other friends, were returning from the Ikeja Shopping Mall, where they went to hang out on January 1.

However, their joy was truncated as they were about to board a commercial bus heading towards Onipanu, when one of the passengers alleged that Quadri had stolen his phone.

In an interview with him, Quardi, who was still writhing in pains, managed to explain how he was almost killed.

He said: “Immediately I entered the bus, I discovered there was space for only one person and I alighted to join my brother and our friends. One of the passengers raised the alarm that I had stolen his phone and held me. When my brothers tried to intervene, they started beating them, accusing them of being members of my gang. Two of them went to call our parents, leaving my brother and I at the mercy of the crowd.

“Two soldiers came and, without asking what happened, they descended on us. They tied our hands and started beating us.

“Moments later, my mother called me on my phone to enquire what happened and one of the soldiers told her we stole. She told the soldiers that she was coming to where we were, that they should wait for her. But immediately after the call, they changed their mind on taking us to the barracks.

“They collected our phones, removed the SIM cards which they gave to us, before handing both phones to the man that accused us of stealing his phone and went their separate ways.”

Continuing, the Senior Secondary School 3 student said: “Three days after recovering from the beating, one of my brothers, who identified one of the soldiers, took my parents to his house but we did not meet him at home.

“My parents reported the matter at the Alade Police Station, where one of the soldiers who beat us was invited. He admitted before the Police to have collected my phones.

“The Police officer told him that what he did was jungle justice that he should have, at least, asked questions on what happened or brought us to the police station. As I speak, our phones have not been retrieved.

“ When spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, Chike Oti, was contacted, he confirmed that a distress call of an altercation was received on January, 1 by the Maryland Shopping mall.

However, he added that when policemen deployed to intercept the parties reached there, nobody was found. He noted that the matter had not been reported at the Ikeja division, under which jurisdiction is Maryland. He was quick to add that investigation would be carried out into the matter.

Politics / 2019 Polls: Ondo Govt, PDP Trade Words Over Removal Of Billboards, Banners by Eazybay(m): 8:47am On Jan 07, 2019
AKURE—THE Ondo State government and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, traded words over the state government’s proposed plan to pull down all political billboards, banners illegally mounted or pasted by corporate bodies, political parties and religious groups in the state without permit.

While the Ondo State Signage and Advertisement Agency, OSSAA declared that “reclaiming the virtues of billboard industry in Ondo State is beyond political party lines, the PDP described the action as an abuse of power. In a statement by OSSAA chairman, Mr. Akinwande Akinrodoye said the agency was “out to ensure the aesthetics and beauty of Ondo State is maintained and improved.”

He said the law establishing the agency which came into existence in 2011 “prescribes that corporate bodies, political parties, individuals and religious organisations having outdoor structures to register and obtain permit from the agency before erecting, constructing, enlarging or structurally modifying any out of home structure.”

The statement reads: “Accordingly, the agency has resolved to bare its fangs on all structures including billboards, banners and pasting of posters illegally mounted or pasted by corporate bodies, political parties and religious groups in the state. In fact, all such structures are now to pay annual exposure fee.

“We urged all affected persons, groups, political parties; corporate entities and religious organisation in the state to remove all such structures that contravene this law. “It has come to the attention of the state government that across the state there are many outdoor advertisement and signs without compliance with the extant law on same, which is, OSSAA law. “The law empowers the agency to enter into any property or premises for the purposes of carrying out inspection necessary for the proper administration of the law.”

It’s an abuse of office—PDP

Faulting the state government’s decision, the opposition PDP in Ondo State described the plan to pull down billboards without permits as intolerance of competition and absolute abuse of office. Zonal Publicity Secretary of the party in the South West, Mr. Ayo Fadaka in Akure said: “We note the hostile attitude of APC governors in the South West to the fact that candidates of our Party are erecting billboards and banners advertising their candidacy. Fadaka said: “It is in absolute bad taste that they have resorted to destroying or threatening to destroy these materials, it typifies their intolerance of competition and absolute abuse of office.”

Business / Fg Extends Registration Of Business Names By 90 Days. by Eazybay(m): 8:31am On Jan 07, 2019
abuja—The Federal Government through the Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, has extended the window for registration of business names at the reduced cost of N5,000.00 by 90 days.

It will be recalled that the Commission under its Business Incentive Strategy (BIS), had reduced the cost of Business Name registration from N10,000 to N5,000 for a period of three months (October 1 to December 31, 2018). A statement by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Moses Adaguusu, explained that BIS was aimed at creating a window for MSMEs to formalise their businesses to enable them own corporate account with banks, access to loans, grants and other government interventions.

He further explained that upon the expiration of the initial three months window, the Commission received several requests from states and other agencies seeking extension of the 50% fee reduction promo. “In view of the benefits of BIS coupled with the demand for extension by stakeholders it became imperative for the Federal Government to further extend the period by another three months (1st January-31st March, 2019) to enable more MSMEs formalize their businesses.

“Following the Commission’s request for extension, the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment graciously approved a three months extension of the BIS for registration of MSMEs from 1st January to March, 2019″. FG pledges support to NAICOM on existing, prospective operators He urged members of the public to take advantage of the extension to register their Business names at the reduced cost of N5,000 after the name reservation of N500. With work advancing on Emotan Gardens, the real estate project being developed by the Edo State Government through the Edo Development and Property Agency (EDPA) and Mixta Nigeria, subscribers are mobilising their close associates and family members to snap up units in the estate to enjoy from its impressive benefits.

Emotan Gardens The 1800-unit affordable housing estate sits on a 74-hectare land in Upper Sokponba axis of Benin City and offers a mix of housing options. About 100 units of the houses are ready for occupation, even as work intensifies on other phases of the estate project.

A cross-section of subscribers on the project said that they are excited about the prospect of living in the estate, which is a novel idea by the state government, adding that they were calling on their friends and family members to also snap up units at the estate.

Mr. Edmund Igbinoba said that the major guarantee on the project is the government’s backing, which forecloses any doubt on the deliverability of the project. He added that the growing profile of the estate and the actualisation of a number of promises made by the state government on the project have motivated him to encourage his associates to also take up units in the project. According to him, “I am excited about the estate project for a number of reasons, chief of which is the state government’s support, which has been reaffirmed with the award for reconstruction of the Benin-Abraka Road. I am also impressed with the rate of development. This is why I am asking my people to join me in this journey at the estate.”

Education / Use This System To Pass An Impromptu Exam by Eazybay(m): 9:26am On Dec 11, 2018
We all have had to employ the fire brigade approach to exams at one point or another. I once had just 2 weeks to prepare for an exam. It was a scholarship exam and I laid my hands on the material just 2 weeks to the date.

Enough said, here's a fail-proof system that can help you pass an 'impromptu' exam.

Start now - don’t procrastinate, every day counts.

Plan out what you need to learn – without a study plan you will be going in blind.

Watch online lectures – this shouldn't take too much time, just watch and learn stuff as fast as you can.

Take notes on the important concepts only – don’t start copying your materials word for word or start marking every single definition with your marker. Only mark important concepts you're likely to forget.

Explain in your own words – for deeper learning, explain concepts in your own words as if you were explaining to a child.

Practice more than you think you should – Don’t spend too long taking notes, jump into practice problems before you feel ready.

Get instant feedback – as you complete each practice question, check your answer against the model answers.

Buy foodstuff – save time in every area of your life. If it means spending extra to buy food, make the sacrifice.

Politics / KANU Releases "6 Scientific" Facts To Prove Buhari Is An Impostor - Daily Post by Eazybay(m): 7:07am On Dec 10, 2018
Chijioke Jannah Chijioke Jannah

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has released six ‘scientific’ facts to back his claim that one Jubril Aminu Al-Sudani is impersonating President Muhammadu Buhari.

Kanu spoke Saturday night in a two-and-half hour special radio broadcast from Israel, saying the facts were necessary to clarify the point he raised earlier that what was playing out before Nigerians was not a case of President Buhari’s clone in Aso Rock but a body double.

While he admitted that body doubles were used by world leaders in the 70’s as political decoys, the IPOB leader said they were never allowed to rule over state affairs nor sign official documents as in the present scenario.

In the past few days, the Presidency of Nigeria has worked very hard to put a spin on the credible revelations that the man passing off as President of Nigeria is not Buhari but a Jubril from Sudan. The spin runs like this: That Buhari does not have a ‘clone’ or that Jubril is not Buhari’s clone or that Buhari has not been biologically cloned. Even ‘Jubril’ himself, during his current trip to Poland, claimed that he is the ‘real’ Buhari, not a ‘clone’.

“The standard qualification to becoming a successful body double or impersonator is close resemblance to the person being impersonated. In other words, the political decoy is an individual who has been selected because of strong physical resemblance to the person being impersonated. This resemblance can be strengthened by plastic surgery.

“Often, such decoys are also trained to speak and behave like the person being impersonated. It has happened before in history, most notably with Josef Stalin of defunct Soviet Union and Adolf Hitler of Germany. There were many others, especially during the Second World War and the subsequent Cold War, when it was very rampant with spies and espionage.

“In this very case of late Buhari, Jibril is NOT a biological clone but a body-double, another human being, an impersonator from Sudan, who resembles Buhari, then underwent a few plastic surgeries to make the resemblance closer and got coached to speak and act like the real Buhari.

“What they never reckoned with is that there are no two individuals that look exactly alike, except for identical twins, even so to a less than absolute degree. So, even as Mr Jibril looks like late Buhari and did some few fixes to enhance the resemblance, there are still a few give-always that, to a discerning eye, differentiated the two men.

“First, Buhari was about 75 years when he assumed the presidency in 2015. He looked very much his age, and appeared noticeably frail shriveled due to the ravaging ailments that eventually saw to his demise. On the other hand, Jibril is about 50 years old and it shows in his gait, his vibrancy, and the smoother tone of his face and skin. There’s also the slight difference earlobes between the two men.

“Second, Buhari had noticeably receding hairline on the front crown and the rest of what was left of his hair was brittle; and then towards the tail end of his life, the hair became very scanty and snow white. All these can be verified from his photographs taken during the electioneering campaigns, at the time he was sworn and during his long illness. This contrasts sharply with Mr Jibril, who appears to have fuller mane of hair, much darker hairlines, and now permanently spots a cap that he has refused to remove despite repeatedly being dared to do so.

“Third and perhaps most importantly, the late Buhari was of Fulani full blood and he spoke fluent Fulfude – the native tongue of the Fulanis. He also spoke Hausa. Now, this Jibril does not speak Fulfude but speaks Hausa only, which is why he strains to speak Hausa as a diversion each time he is challenged to speak Fulfude. One then wonders why Jibril, claiming to be the real Buhari in Poland, did not speak some Fulfude or even go as far as removing his cap.

“Fourth, since February last year, one notices a profound distance when in public between Jibril and Buhari’s family members, especially Buhari’s wife, Aisha and son Yusuf. Whereas, Aisha appears to be studiedly aloof from Jibril, Yusuf was photographed awkwardly shaking Jibril’s hand after he returned from his long stay at a German hospital, where he had been admitted and treated for injuries stemming from his bike accident.

“Fifth, Buhari was a very tall person, noticeably taller than other equally tall public officials such Senate President Saraki, who now appears taller than the man claiming to be Buhari. How come? It was Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information who tried to explain this by claiming that Buhari used to wear high-heeled shoes, which he now no longer wears on the advice of his doctor, thus making him appear shorter. Is that plausible?

“Sixth, since his ‘acclaimed’ recovery from his debilitating ailments and discharge from the London Hospital, the man that claims to be Buhari has not been traveling to London for mandatory follow-ups. Is it medically possible that someone who was ravaged to the point of looking skeletal and underwent complex surgeries would suddenly heal to the point that he no longer needed clinical follow-ups? Plus, when this Jibril story persisted in the wake of his US visit with President Trump, his handlers tried to defuse it by orchestrating a medical check-up stopover in London. If such check-ups are real, why isn’t this being done on a regular basis since his so-called recovery.

“So, there you have it – Jibril from Sudan is not a biological clone of Buhari but a completely different fellow impersonating the real but late Buhari on the dummy that he’s a look-alike who underwent some cosmetic fixes that appear to have convinced many that he’s Buhari. Still, the truth is that Jibril neither the Buhari nor his clone.”

Education / 6 Highly Effective Habits Of Top Students by Eazybay(m): 9:19am On Dec 06, 2018
Over time I have realized that some of us assume top students were born that way. Like they naturally have an idea of all the courses we are taught in school. Big lie! If you're curious as to how they do it, I'm here to help.

The following are some habits you should form if you wanna be like them.

1. Top students practice self-discipline instead of relying on motivation.

If we wait until we feel motivated to complete an assignment, we will have wasted precious time putting it off and also added unnecessary stress. Instead, we need to schedule out or write down when we will be completing this assignment, whether we want to or not. This leads me to my next point.

2. Top students stay organized.

I carry a paper where I write down my schedule for the day and any new homework that I receive. I’ve written out important dates like exams and test dates on a large calendar in my room so that no assignment sneaks up on me. Knowing exactly what needs to be done allows me to be productive and never be surprised by an assignment, test or exam.

3.Top students actively review.

A student who passively reviews will spend several hours rereading notes or the textbook and probably score worse than the student who actively reviews for half the time. Here are two different ways I actively review. Actively reviewing and retrieving information helps you to internalize the material much better than passively rereading and/or highlighting.

4.Top students use spaced repetition.

Instead of cramming and forgetting everything two days after the exam, I use spaced repetition where I review the material almost every day and after the fourth or fifth time seeing it, I will have internalized the material so well that it will stick with me. Don’t cram; study a little every day.

5.Top students use external sources to aid them.

Who cares if your professor didn’t explain the material well enough? It’s up to you to stop complaining and figure it out. If I don’t understand the material, I first go to YouTube or Google and see if that can help me. If not, I call a friend. You have to be proactive.

6.Top students have a purpose.

The majority of top students have a purpose. Without that purpose, I doubt anyone would try as hard or care as much. If you find your purpose, you can do anything.

Literature / These 4 Tips Will Change Your Writing Forever by Eazybay(m): 7:45am On Dec 05, 2018
The following 4 tips took me years of writing and observation to collect, but will only take you 2 minutes to learn. Your writing will be better forever.

Refuse to use the word “thing.”

Each thing can be described in more detail. When we don’t we’re just being lazy. Don’t drown the cake in frosting to avoid baking a new one.

Let a device be a device, a trait be a trait, a feeling be a feeling.

Before: “This is the greatest thing my parents taught me.”
After: “This is the greatest lesson my parents taught me.”

No brackets.

Like “thing,” parentheses only weaken what you actually want to say. If you want to say it, say it. If not, don’t.
Whether it’s the brackets that are unnecessary or what’s in them is for you to decide. But one of the two is. At least 99% of the time. Probability is on your side when you ditch them.

Before: “You must pass a (ridiculously hard) course.”
After: “You must pass a ridiculously hard course.”

Fewer prepositions.

Many of us need to free up time these days. But time doesn’t go anywhere on its own. Not up. Not down. You don’t have to pull it. You take it. Or make it.
Don’t free up time. Make time. Don’t move out. Just move. You won’t miss out on the concert. You’ll miss it.

Sometimes we even add two unnecessary prepositions to one verb.
Before: “He wants to meet up with Sarah in the morning.”
After: “He wants to meet Sarah in the morning.”

Eliminate redundant references.

The reader arrived from your last sentence. She’ll remember it. Don’t begin the next one with a preposition or injection. “So” doesn’t say so much, “as before” breaks my flow, “or” repeats the obvious alternative. “Well” means you’re not done thinking, well, take more time to write.

Never reference the end of your previous sentence at the beginning of the next one.
Before: “Writing improves your thinking. With this in mind, I suggest you write daily.”
After: “Writing improves your thinking. I suggest you write daily.”

Finally, it takes a few seconds to improve a sentence. If you want to write a book, that's still a lot of seconds.

Education / 6 Mistakes To Avoid When Writing An Exam by Eazybay(m): 9:39am On Dec 04, 2018
Here are some things to avoid when writing an exam.

1. Go through questions consecutively – many students go through each exam question consecutively, Q1, 2, 3, 4…until they finish. That was me back in the day. But this is not an efficient use of time. During a time-pressured exam it is most efficient to answer all the questions you are familiar with first. These are you ‘high percentage’ marks locked in. After you have answered those, use your remaining time to go through and answer the questions you find challenging. This strategy has the added effect of building your confidence by answering questions correctly to begin with.

2. Spend too long on questions – this is a problem that goes hand in hand with answering questions consecutively. You get caught up on a challenging question; spend time on it, but can’t figure out the answer. However, because you spent time on it, you feel compelled to keep struggling on it, even though the probability of being correct has diminished. Don’t fall for this trap. Work out how much time to allocate to each exam question, and stick to it. Times up, on to the next one.

3. Try to get ‘extra’ marks – this happens when students write as many points as possible to try get more marks. Most times this strategy only makes the examiner think you don’t understand the question, as well as using up time. The best students answer exam questions concisely and to the point. Here is my answer, here is how I got there, and here are my assumptions.

4. Get frustrated – this is harder said than done. But the last thing you want to do is get frustrated at yourself because you can’t work out an answer. It will distract your mind from what’s important – focusing on the questions. You need focus and intensity, but no matter what bad moves you make, remain calm and focused on the next play. It’s okay to be nervous, or feel under pressure, but the more you focus, the more you stay ‘calm under pressure’.

5. Not checking answers – some students are so happy to finish an exam that they leave without checking their answers. But as humans we are prone to error, and even correcting one mistake could mean the difference between a pass or fail, or a B and an A. I believe its diligent practice to review your answers if you have time at the end of your exam. Those 5-10 minutes could save you regret later on.

6. Lose self-belief – No matter how hard your exam is, don’t let challenges bring you down.

Education / How To Drastically Improve Your Reading Concentration by Eazybay(m): 7:47am On Dec 04, 2018
There is ONE thing, one thing that people NEVER seems to get when it comes to concentration.
Because they don’t understand this simple rule, their results and study session effectiveness often fall short of their expectations.

This had come to my attention during the hellish period of my University journey, and I swear concentration is one difficult thing to master, especially if you don't know the core principles.

You’ve heard it all: Eat the right foods for peak performance of our brains. Sleep eight hours so we don’t feel lethargic. Sit in the front row of the class so we grasp every nitty gritty detail of what the lecturer is trying to say. Eat light food so you can read at night.

You’ve probably done some of them yourself.

And yet, you still fall short of your expectations. You still fail.

That is because you're unaware of this one tip.

From my experience in the University, it is this one thing that differentiates the top scorers and consistent high performers from the rest of us average performers.
There’s no magic formula to study success, but if there is one principle to improve your concentration. It is this:

Create Your Study Environment

The quality of your concentration is directly correlated to the quality of your environment.
You see, you MUST HAVE a conducive environment to have maximum concentration. Not only must this environment be conducive, but conducive for YOU. The library may be convenient for some, but in my own case, I realized that seeing people come in and go out was a huge distraction for me.

So I had to choose a place with less movement and much order; my room. Scattered rooms seem to have a negative effect on concentration.

If this premise is not met, you can stop reading here because all the additional study techniques I’ll share with you below to boost your concentration will go to waste.
So stop. Take a moment to think about what environment makes you focus the most. Then read on.

Create A List/Strategy:

The best students in your class have a study strategy. Forget how often they play or how long they sleep. If you have a study strategy, concentration gets easier and you achieve more. You can keep this strategy in your head or list it out. Everything you want to achieve each day. Then proceed to the next step.

Start With The Most Difficult Tasks

At the beginning of your study session, your mind is at its peak, and so is your concentration level. I would highly suggest you begin your study session in the morning to capitalise on your alertness and high concentration level. The problem we often face is that this period of high alertness is usually channeled to Social media activities. To get around this, you'll have to disable notifications on all platforms.

Having Completed This, I Move to lesser tasks.
With my most challenging task conquered, I would focus my attention on solving other less complex problems.

Following a productive session, I would rest and refuel myself.
After completing all my important tasks that will drain most of my concentration, I will take a break. You see, concentration is like fuel that your body uses in order to focus. Like fuel in your car, it is finite and is bound to run out. Taking breaks after completing the most important tasks of the day is paramount for you to refuel, and for your body to continue performing optimally in the long run. Eating the right kinds of food is also vital in helping you refuel your concentration level.

One Last Thing, I learn to compete!
I know some people will disagree, but humans are competitive in nature. If you set out to study just because you want to pass, you will not give it your all. You'll get fatigued, get up and be like... "I can't kill myself". So I set out to compete with students who had the best results in the previous semester. The mindset of competition keeps the mind awake!
You and I all have that ability to focus within us. We just need to take the additional step to finding the right environment.

Politics / 10 Very Important Life Lessons by Eazybay(m): 6:20am On Dec 04, 2018
1. No one has ever received an award for best wedding. Don't kill yourself with debt.

2. Pain will teach you lessons that pride and ego won't let you learn.

3. Girls get friendzoned too. Only difference is the guy will still sleep with you.

4. Holding grudges does not make you strong, it makes you bitter. Forgiveness does not make you weak, it sets you free.

5. Nothing can be worse than your wife's parents feeding you and your wife. To every guy reading this, may this never be your portion.

6. The only expectations you should live up to, are the ones you expect of yourself, everything else will disappoint you.

7. Don't give yourself unnecessary pressure by wanting to be like others, you can be better than them.

8. Don't allow your life to be just fine or okay. Make it brilliant, spectacular, wild, extraordinary! Fill it with excitement and adventure, be passionate and fearless, search for freedom and opportunity! You only get one life, make it count! Make it mean something. Make it yours.

9. A woman who doesn't ask for anything deserves everything.

10. Don’t ever let someone’s negative opinion of yourself become your reality.

Career / The Right Answer To The Challenge, "Sell Me The Pen". by Eazybay(m): 6:12am On Dec 02, 2018
You sell the pen by not selling the pen.

Literally, the last thing you do when trying to sell the pen is start by explaining how fantastic the pen is.

So what is the first step to selling the pen?

You first need to understand who your customer, as a person, is. What are their likes and dislikes? What fascinates them? How did they get to the position they are in?
Then, you need to understand their needs, how often they use a pen, what kind of pens they use, whether they use a pen every day or occasionally.

If you do like Belfort suggested in the movie and begin the conversation by “selling the pen,” then you’ve likely lost the sale.

In a sales call, you need to spend more time listening than speaking. That’s why it’s so hard to master the art of sales … because most people like the sound of their own voices, and they feel compelled to sell the customer something. They feel compelled to begin the sale right away.

What you’re selling when you sell the customer the pen is not the pen; it is yourself. And you sell yourself by making yourself likable.

You ask questions, and you listen. You let the customer speak, and you listen some more.
It’s a lot easier to be interested than interesting.
Most people don’t get that.
The ones who do, the people who understand that you don’t just “sell the pen,” but rather that you get to know your customer by being interested in who they are—their wants and desires—those are the ones who master the art of sales.

Education / 4 Steps To Memorize Anything. by Eazybay(m): 6:34am On Nov 30, 2018
Have you ever wondered why we play songs in our car stereo and listen to them over and over, and in the process, we memorize all the lyrics without putting efforts towards them? Basically what happens is that your brain retains a bit of anything and everything you go through in each attempt. With each repetition, your brain will have to struggle less to remember the same thing it already remembers, and will retain a bit more. A point comes when there is no more left to be memorized. This is how we remember the lyrics of a lot of songs in our minds.

Now, here's how to do it with books.

1. Write the same thing down a few times. You would realize that when you think you know it, and when you start writing it, you would find an anomaly. That is, you would begin forgetting things when you attempt writing them down. This is simply because when we think we know and remember something, we are only living in a false belief. I tried and tested this method, and often found that as soon as I started writing the thing, I would figure out that I had not actually memorized it and I had to check the book again.

2. Write your notes in various colors. Humans are good at remembering things better when there are more colors. Think for example about two pictures of a mango and an apple. Now if I draw them on a white paper in black ink, and ask you a question ~ which fruits did I just show you? If they are black and white pictures, you would remember less. If they are colored you would remember better, because that is how you are used to seeing them. Same way, if you use multiple colors when you write notes, it would help you retain them better. Personally, I use a highlighter pen, red pen and a black/blue pen.

3. Tell the theory or the subject to a friend. This is a great way to repeat the topic. First you are retaining it, and coming up with the best method of reciting it, but also you are helping a friend

4. Listen to those things from others. Watch your friends discuss, watch YouTube videos and join study group.

The power of repetition cannot be forgotten. To inspire with a story ~ a doctor was treating a patient, who had lost the memory completely, so much so that the patient had forgotten a lot of things about himself, and things at his home. The doctor gave him a toothbrush and paste applied to it. The patient demonstrated to the doctor how to brush the teeth. Why had he not forgotten how to brush? Just because he had repeated it so many times in his life, that he did not have to think about.

All you have to do is REPEAT.
