I think a man should be part of the decision process to have a child or not. Having sex isn’t a decision to become a parent. Just like the sex is consensual, the decision to give birth should be too. If a woman solely decide to bring a child to the world, it should be assumed that she’s going to solely raise it. If she’s unable, the state should take the child and give it up for adoption. If we say we are pro choice and a woman should have the choice to abort a fetus she didn’t create alone, the man’s choice of not wanting the responsibilities of fatherhood should also be respected. |
I have come to realize that most women with a career or business proclaim they are feminists. Their actions however are totally in contrast with their words. How can you believe men are women are equal but you are seeking a provider? The most dependent women I have been involved with were self proclaimed feminists. Emotionally, physically and financially. Just because you know big words like patriarchy and Misogyny does not make you a feminist. Feminism is in action and practice. I have since come to the conclusion that women are women, irrespective of what they profess. The average woman wants to be under the control of a man. The average woman thinks men are superior. |
Increase in IGR is not necessarily as a result of increase in taxes. It could mean increase in the number of businesses and individuals paying the taxes, it could mean increase earning power of businesses, improvement in collection methods etc. Increased IGR signals increasing independence from the FG purse and it should be applauded. |
This happens for most countries with free healthcare. Long wait times, not enough doctors etc. I know a lot of people who just travel to their home countries for their health care needs or just go to nearby countries. I know someone who had to wait for two years to remove fibroid in Canada. She had to go to Naija for the surgery when she got tired of waiting. Another friend had to wait 11 months for a weight loss surgery, she headed to Mexico instead. It’s was cheaper and immediate. |
Dbeautyy:Usually, when I’m angry I stay quiet. I address the issue when I’m less angry or I deem it not worthy of addressing and just move on with my life. I do not believe that people can speak when angry and not come off as insulting. Even normal words you play with will look like an insult when angry. Picture yourself playfully saying ode, mumu, bighead, I hate you, to a girl. Now picture yourself angrily saying the same thing. A lot of women do not like the silent treatment and would encourage you to get it out until they meet someone who likes to get it out. |
Jamie248:Anybody who has money to pay the piper can call the tune. If the woman doesn’t like your tune, she has sufficient money saved up to pay her own piper. |
He already failed his fore fathers if his wife is allowed to have money. Your fore fathers paid the bill and refuse women work to ensure dependency. |
People are different. Some people will speak their minds when angry and the next minute they apologize and are back to their sweet self. Some other people won’t say a word to you for weeks and sometimes the relationship breaks down from it. I don’t think one trait in a person is a good judge of whether to run or stay. Analyze your partner, weigh the pros and the cons and decide which outweighs the other. Being mouthy is not a good predictor of future domestic violence. In my opinion, quiet folks are more likely to express themselves physically than the ones who use their mouths. Of course, walk away if you can’t take the insult. Prioritize your mental health. |
If portable grew up in wealth like Enioluwa, he would have been more refined. He could still be a little rough around the edges, but not the nuisance that he is now. The only difference between Davido and Portable is upbringing. To the question, Non. |
Women don’t take advise when they are in love. If someone told her all these when she was chasing her ex, she would have considered the person a bad belle. |
Ishilove:Lol it’s not a joke. People have had sex with minors and ended up marrying them too, does that negate the fact that it is legally considered rape? The law is the law and it doesn’t care about your emotions. If the matter ever makes it to the court an affair between an employer and employee will be seen as coercion and rape. Just because people got away with it doesn’t make it not rape. In this case, the burden of high expectation is on the person who wields the power. A lot of people have married their rapist, it doesn’t mean the act of rape did not happen. Not every one can quit their jobs because of harassment and the law will always side with the person with less power. |
It’s a good thing he’s acknowledging the government’s decisiveness as regards revenue generation. While we do need improvement on security, they aren’t mutually exclusive. Revenue generation and job creation is a proven way to reduce insecurity. |
Ishilove:Well we will agree to disagree. I searched online if a househelp can consent to sex with an employer in Nigeria and the answer was an emphatic no. Whether it’s statutory or full blown, rape is rape and sex with someone who can’t consent is rape. Unless the lady lacks proper legal representation, she used the term rape in the right context. |
Ishilove:Ishilove, I’m not saying her comment is warranted. Heck, I think she’s bitter the man found love & happiness after divorce. However, she’s curated her comment in a way that does not contravene any law. A lot of sex with minor is consensual in the true sense of the word ‘consent’, but the law sees it as rape. In a lot of jurisdiction power imbalance in relationship has the same legal term of rape. A maid can’t reject sexual advances without repercussions from her powerful boss. She’s only called their relationship by its legal term. She never said the maid is a minor, she said most likely younger. Younger than what? 100 years?. Unless Paul’s ex lied under oath, there are legal documents that claims he slept with his maid and the court annulled his marriage on the basis of that document. If cuppy has made the same allegations against him will he be threatening to use all resources at his disposal to deal with her? Ask yourself why Burna arrested speed Darlington but couldn’t arrest chief priest for same issue. We can’t protest against police high handedness sometimes then support it when we like the person involved. This is a civil matter and from where I stand, Paul has no case. |
Smartcitizen:Show me one comment where I have supported Tinubu to deal with Sowore! |
She’s covered by law. There’s no accusation anywhere. Paul ex wife accused him of sleeping with the help, due to the power balance, such relationships are never consensual. She also said the help was ‘most likely’ younger. She didn’t say a minor, would Paul sleep with a maid who’s older than him? Unless he wants to kill her, he has no case. She should make another post alluding threat to life and say if anything happens to her Paul should be held responsible. |
When people are looking for a way to japa. She’s claiming her Naija roots. I’m proud of her. She’s more Nigerian than the people who refer to the country as a zoo, insane clime and other dumb terms. |
If the car is registered in her name, it belongs to her. If not, she was just the using it, she wasn’t the owner. |
It’s easy to judge sisialagbo on social media but every older spinster is a potential sisialagbo. At that point you just have to be selfish and not think of anyone or repercussions. It’s easier to be dragged online than to be mocked for being unmarried in real life. She chose her poison wisely. |
The new tax system is progressive. No matter what you make, you don’t pay tax on the first 800k. If you make 1.2m annually, you only pay 15% tax on 400k. The new tax is a reduction of the tax burden on the poorest in the society. Minimum wage earners will pay less tax than they pay now. |
A lot of immigrants are always full of praise of their host countries. I’m sure people from Togo living in Nigeria are also happy with the situation of the country. Ask someone who was born and grew up in the UK what he thinks about their government. |
If she can’t speak why then are you sending her to school? The assignment is for parent-child bonding. |
benalvino3:The story may be a lie but I have seen advices even on nairaland on how people should demand/request a raise. |
I don’t know who introduced the concept of asking for a raise to young people. You need leverage to ask for a raise. Either you have another job, you are so skilled that getting another job wouldn’t be an issue or you are in a position where you are irreplaceable. Either ways, before you ask for a raise, be ready to leave the job either by resignation or sack. Unless you are close to your boss and you casually ask for more money. Once you make an official request then you are a disgruntled employee. If you aren’t happy with your pay, you won’t give your best. I think the figures are also exaggerated, no one in their right mind is doling out almost $650 for 2 hours work where there are people who will do it for $70. Even major companies who use remote workers won’t pay that much. |
Why are people so obsessed with this big brother show? Can entertainment and research not coexist? A company that provides employment, pays taxes and create a ton of people who go ahead to succeed in other ventures, who in turn also hire people and pay taxes is what you want the government to ban. Fornication and adultery happen on campuses, NYSC, workplace, religious institutions etc how many of you are calling for a ban on these institutions? It is a reality TV show, it’s just reality being filmed on camera. If bbn stops airing in naija, you people will say Tinubu’s policy has pursued them. No difference between you complainers and hisba destroying beer in the North. |
I thought you needed to be a professor to become a VC? |
Introduce yourself. Tell her who gave you the number and state your interest. I’m heartbreaker, Tomi gave me your number, I will like to be a friend/ I would like to take you out/ I would like to get to know you better etc. Her response of just ‘fine’ shows she wants you to talk more or she’s just not interested. So if she still isn’t responsive after talking more then she isn’t interested. Or you could just approach her at church. |
The reason people doubt Eazi’s business acumen and success is because he doesn’t look the part. If he wore expensive jewellery or sharp Italian suits or show off expensive cars they would believe. I watched an interview where Naeto C recalled how he met Eazi. Naeto said he had met Eazi at a couple of business meetings and didn’t even know Eazi sang until he blew up. It was all over the news a few years ago that a business he was associated with, Vydia got sold to an American company, Gamma. should this not tell you something? Mr Eazi is a venture capitalist, he invest in startups, fund businesses and individuals and get a stake in them. For example Empawa Africa which he owns has financed artiste like Joeboy, king promise, fave, good girl LA etc you won’t know that because he isn’t your typical record label boss who smokes Cuban cigars in music videos. Painting him as lucky to marry a girl who lives off pocket money is wild. |
This seems senseless to me. If he can’t make himself available for something as important as a proposal, he could send a ring or send her money for it. Heck, proposal isn’t by force. Tell her parents you want to marry her and pick a date. Proposal, introduction and wedding can happen simultaneously when you see her. This isn’t an errand I would run. I hope the brother also kissed her when she said yes? |
The trump virus has infected all his employees. Is the US heaven? No sensible person gives a f about Trumps US. Just knowing the US could elect a mentally unstable racist is enough for any sensible person to not want to visit/live there again. Even people in the US are looking to escape to Canada. Someone who supported gun violence was killed by what he supports and you are trying to silence people from sharing their opinions with threat that they can’t visit the US. Baloney! |
