Where in the US are you going to? I am going to Cleveland state university to study and to acquire master’s in Business Administration
How did you hear about this school? An employee of my father sent his son to Cleveland state university too study and acquire master’s in Business Administration and two weeks after his return he got a job for a managerial post in a top notch company in Nigeria
Why this course? It is the management of a business. It includes the performances or management of business operations and decision making as well as efficient organization of human and available resources in the attainment of organization goals and objectives.
Why CSU? Despite its support and encouragement in research, CSU have been an intersection where sense of place meets sense of purpose. Also its philosophy about engaged learning which tends to provide a contemporary and accessible education in the arts, sciences, humanities and professions and by conducting research, scholarship and creative activity across these branches of knowledge.
Who is your sponsor? My dad
Where does he work? He is the owner of Bleep international company, he is into imports of all kinds of electronics.
Any financial statement? Yes his bank statement of account
What do you intend doing after your program? I am coming back immediately to Nigeria to assume proper responsibility as the ceo Bleep international company
Why MBA? It is a vital requirement that will give me an edge in managerial roles. Also it will expose me to innovative and modern way of doing business unlike like the traditional way.
What was your undergraduate course? Marketing
How many schools did you apply to? 2
Name them Cleveland state university, Ohio Texas state university, San Marcos
How many gave you admission? 2
Why CSU and not Texas state university? In terms of number of masters degrees conferred CSU have it more than TSU. TSU classes are all evening because it’s mostly for people who are working and studying. TSU do not offer spring admission Cleveland student to faculty ration is 17:1 while TSU is 19:1
Tell me about your study plan? I am required to complete a 32 unit course within the period of 24months.
Mention the courses you will be offering at CSU? Marketing strategy, financial policies, managerial accounting , managing human resources etc |

EZEIGBO1OFIMO: whenever anybody (Visa officers, Admissions committee) ask "why this course", they are not looking to hear your life story (like " ever since I was a child..." wahala), as a grown adult they are expecting realistic reasons that will ultimately be of benefit to you. As an an accounting degree individual going to a business school, it's most likely that you are ready to transition from the number crunching to more managerial and executive roles, and your experience (hoping you have that) in accounting (and maybe auditing) better suits you for top level financial advisory and analytical roles. so when faced with that question, a likely answer would be "I am confident that with my experience as an accountant, a business degree would greatly improve my chances of an early transition into executive roles , advisory roles and top notch consulting. which is line with my goal of taking one step further in the corporate and financial ladder" confirm... But what of someone who studied marketing in university and going for masters in Business Administration what would his/her response be? |
