In all sincerity and objectivity, the matter the lady has brought to play is wrong and the best word to describe such a lady is rabble-rouser. Nigeria is a very secular country with a near balance population of Christians and Muslims. The animist/atheist population is quite insignificant. Someone who is called to bar must be blind to all sentiments in the delivery of justice. For her supporters, i want them to expect a nuclear effect, the glamour of the ceremony would be gone in no distant time if they proceed with this. People would point to their freedom of expression and mess up the whole process. Let us wait and see.

Paul was actually in need of the money as at that time. He was into Evangelizing the gospel moving from one country to another. Such movement requires money and support. The money was not meant for his flamboyant lifestyle if he had any. Even with that, Paul was a poor man.
He never accumulated wealth.
No buildings acredited to him, no riches. He was satisfied spreading the gospel.

Now what is the gospel?
The gospel requires that he convert Non christians (people of other religions) into christianity, as christianity was a new religion then with very few adherents .

But what are your pastors doing today?

First of all, they are not converting non christians, they are not doing the job yet they are enriching themselves, living a flamboyant lifestyle,accumulating wealth,buying private jet,travelling to Dubai with the money meant for the job.

So for the fact that some pastors live a flamboyant life is the reason why the biblical injuction should be disregarded in paying tithes. Leave such pastor to God for judgement while u do ur best to make it to heaven

Here is where Freeze got it wrong again; u dont need tithes money to feed the poor but to God as to His servant. It is unbiblical to begin to inquire how the money u give in church/mosque(to God) is spent. African level of poverty can ever cause this. Give out of 90% with u to d poor, I think will be rightful to do this

Ask those who speak in tongue ,if they can explain the meaning of what they say? One guy above said its only God (who gave the person the ability to speak in tongue) that can understand. Your enemies are meant to be loved through ur praying for their repentant but if they refuse to repent then u commit them to Gods hand to deal with them cos their threat can hinder ur peaceful living and hinder heaven

Why must the enemies be afraid anyway and if God is not in support of this prayer why must he answer. I pity those that are against this prayer cos they are yet to experience the evils of this world.

I have been undoubtedly revealed to that tithing is a necessity to cater for servants, pastors and preachers of Gods words, who have made preaching their all time professions(Levites). So giving it is a choice for the giver if only he or she deems it necessary to provide for God household, as this will automatically yield an interest and benefits for the giver. And this is what the book of Malachi affirms...

Though I will not fully agree with pastor sulaimon on this. The purpose of discipleship is not to act as bodyguard but as people who are being mentored to mentor others. I will only agree to one fact that having a bodyguard does not make someone a sinner. This world we are so much full of evil that we can use any legal means to protect our life from evil people of the world.

The association, which made its position known after a meeting in Lagos, said that payment of tithe, as recorded in the Bible passage, Malachi 3:6 to 10, was meant for the descendants of Jacob. Nigerians and other African tribes are not included, according to the theologians.
Speaking through its National President, Prof. Kunle Macaulay, the body said Nigerians were the descendants of Ham, a Gentile, and not of Shem, “who are the Israelites, and are, as such, not obliged to pay 10 per cent of their income as demanded by the churches.”
Macaulay, who supported radio host and presenter, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly called Daddy Freeze, in describing tithe-paying by Christians as “modern scam”, also deplored a comment credited to the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, that Christians who refused to pay tithes “are living under a curse.”
He said, “Daddy Freeze is right by calling tithe-paying a modern scam. Tithe paying is not of Christianity and we expect well educated men of God like Pastor Adeboye and Bishop (David) Oyedepo (of The Living Faith Mission) to tell their congregations this biblical truth.
“Malachi 3:6 to 10, the Bible passage being used to threaten Christians refers to the descendants of Jacob, who are children of Israel, and not Christians.
“Nigerians are descendants of Ham, the race referred to as the Gentiles, while the Israelites are descendants of Shem, which is the house of Jacob.
“Men of God should interpret the Bible in the context of the writing as well as the history of the period of writing. In verse 7 of Malachi 3, the Bible records that the Israelites did not keep to the law of paying tithe ‘ever since the time of their fathers’, and were being admonished to change.
“That passage is talking about the law of Moses and not the law of love under which Christians are expected to operate.”
The ACTS president said Christians and their leaders could raise funds to carry out their projects, “but not by deceit, manipulation, magic, suggestivity and hypnotism, as we have these days.”
The Bible, he insisted, should be studied historically, noting that many pastors nowadays were not biblically trained.
“Many of them are either retirees, pensioners or jobless people, who are now in Christian leadership,” he observed.

Association of theologians can only interprete bible to those that are feeding on milk but not on solid food of the spirit. Those that are rooted in God are lead by Holy Spirit to have a clear revelation of the scriptures/Bible. U as a person suppose to have grown to the level of asking God for a clear revelation on this.

Something must be known by all, it is the fact that as humans we can only know by part; no one has monopoly of knowledge. Even pastors, professors, Doctors are still learning. We are students before God , and this include Apostle Suleiman. We need not castigate him for this, he still remains human also like we are.

The gospel of tithing is not what Christ handed over to us as believers. He gave us the gospel of bringing the atheists and heresies speakers to Him. And that includes DaddyFreeze ; a non-church goers who is using wisdom of men to preach to the believers.

Pastors look fresher and cleaner than most tithers... I pay tithe but not to any church. What i do is, i give to the orphanages. That way I'm sure I'm not enriching the rich. May God help us

It is not tithing is not compulsory but tithing is no more applicable in Christianity.

Biblical principles cannot expire at all...what God says He stands by it.

Even heaven is not compulsory. You have option to go to He'll or Heaven. Biblical principles are ways of life that are optional. Take tithing seriously or leave it.
