HealthDeafness At Old Age Is Imminent At The Rate We Are Going by Eberex(op): 10:04am On Sep 05, 2014
Everywhere you turn you see people wearing Earpieces, male and female alike. Its now a fashion thing and people now regard it as normal thing. The alarming thing about it is you hear the sound coming from the person's earpiece while seated next to him/her, and that should tell you how loud the music is !

OVERUSE or forced use of the headset will cause damage to hearing, loss or hearing impairment.

Moreover, the usual earphone/headset to use with the top of voice set to “fight” noise from the outside that we normally use in crowded/noisy place, it’s very high risk.

Hearing loss can affect people already getting early: early on the ear that often use the earphones do not fell anything, but when they wanted to pull out the earphones, ear buzzing hot and intense.

It occurs due to fatigue cochlea, which plays an important role in auditory processing. Cochlear fatigue that occurs continuously and is not addressed promptly can lead to persistent hearing loss.

For people with normal hearing, audiograms lies between zero and 20 decibels. On top of that figure, meaning that conditions are not right ear. Only be treated with therapy hiperbalik (giving special drugs) in order decrease the level of deafness, but not cured, therefore, the damaged hair cells in the inner ear organ that functions capture the frequency of stimulation or voice. If this section has been disruption and damaged, will not be back to normal.

World Health Organisation (WHO), 2030 hearing sound has also be programmed to reduce the cases of hearing loss and deafness by 50 percent in 2015, and 90 percent within the next 15 years. The main problem is the wrong lifestyle habits such as the use of earphones.

Also, do not use it while driving or in a noisy highway. This will make the user not hear the warnings of people. Other cars, etc. that are likely top cause accidents. Self-awareness of our concentration decreases due to the transfer from the surrounding environment and the way to the sound from the earphones. Loss of balance could be messed up because the air pressure affects the balance of the body when we use the earphones in the street or while driving. We better be diligent in cleaning the ears of ear wax to prevent infect.

Most people love to get lost to the outside world and soak themselves in music, especially when traveling. Helping people to logout of their immediate surroundings and the cacophony around are earphone the wired extension of the ubiquitous cell phones.

But one thing that people often overlook is the hygiene aspect of earphones. Since the phones are constantly exposed to dust, dirt and moisture, the earphones, over a period of time, pipe in not just music, but also risk and diseases into the ears.

PAIN IN THE EAR.
Prolonged use, repeated insertion and removal of earphones may irritate the temporomandibular joint located near the ear canal. This might result in soreness and pain in the ear. The foam, which expand inside the ear canal are often the major culprits.

INFLAMMATION IN THE EAR.
It is always advisable to buy earphones, which fit you properly; those, which don’t fit correctly, may tear or irritate the skin inside the ear due to repeated adjustments. This might lead to growth of bacteria, which in turn may result in infections.

INFECTION IN THE EAR.
Make sure to clean your earphones regularly. If not, bacteria can develop on them, especially on the earphones made of foam, leading to infections in the ear. In case of infection do visit the doctor and discontinue the use of earphones.

IMPACT ON EAR WAX.
According to a health resource website from Columbia University, ear wax drains from your ears daily, though it is inconspicuous. Therefore, frequent and prolonged use of earphones can hamper the movement of ear wax and there might be side effect like tinnitus, hearing loss, pain or infection.

TIPS AND PRECAUTIONS.
· To prevent infections, clean your ears regularly. The Columbia University website also recommends dropping two drops to olive oil into your ear canal to remove any wax build up.

· Cleanse and disinfect your foam phones regularly. Add a few drops to anti-bacterial soap solution into a bowl of warm water, soak the earphones for a few minutes and then use a faucet to rinse out the soap thoroughly. Place the cleaned earphones on a paper towel to drain out excess water and let them dry.

· Yet another way of cleaning the foam earphones would be to put them in the washing machine. Yes, washing machine! Place the earphones in either a nylon, lingerie bag or cloth container, wash and air dry thoroughly.

· Wash your hands thoroughly before using the earphones. Also make sure your ears are clean and dry.

RIGHT WAY TO USE EARPHONES.
You should always be able to grab and rotate the end of your earphones. So, do not push it too far into the ear canal.

Always remove your earphones cautiously, as pulling it out harshly might damage the ear drum. It is advisable to twist the ear plug slightly while removing it.

How you take know?
Abeg no make me laugh
Yeah keep laughing! She is right about the ''another human hair''. Havent you watched the processes involved in making the Brazilian hair? They cut hair from women, ofcourse at a price cos its hot cake there and these hairs goes into different stages of processing using chemicals and other stuffs. Nigerian women don't have that kind of hair if not they would partake in that business too. cut off, sell to a company. Withing 2 months the hair would grow back shikena!

Checking on you means either of the following: she likes your person and asking after you clearly means she wants to get a message across to you that she wants your attention, and wouldn't mind to continue with her acts (even though its not a guarantee that she is a caring type) that's women for you. In anycase try and be friends with her and if luck is on your side, you will end up liking her as much as she does you.

WAEC reported this year’s result as the worse. Are we surprised? It’s not a premonition but Next year’s result would be worse if we don’t address the fault. Besides what do we expect when our television programs has nothing to offer our kids. Maltina dance all, Nigerian Idols, Mtn Project fame, Who wants to be a millionaire, Gulder Ultimate search to name a few are what they are interested in etc

Has there been any program where they is an award for academic excellence? But personally I don’t think I above aforementioned are close to the cause anyway. Let’s take a look at our phone technologies. Every kid owns a phone, and not just any phone but sophisticated ones.

There is so much to do online and these things gets the kids occupied so much he/she hardly has time to study. All those putting the blame on teachers should please stop. Phones are distraction in our generation, believe it or not. Even for the adults, talk less of the students.

Wow! Will this generation know how far CD disks have to evolve to get to where they are today? But when I remember how we used to play music using old school cassette players I can't help but laugh especially when the cassette is intertwined in the player and one has to struggle to remove it without cutting or damaging it or when the sound coming from the cassette is too fast as if its been forwarded. How about when we use screw-driver or better still kitchen knives to unscrew the cassette in order to fix the damaged area with transparent cello-tape? How we identify the cassettes was by pasting a paper with a tape on it and then inscribing the name of the artist on it.

I still remember recording our voices and re-playing it to hear how we sounded, even had to do a little ''new masquerade'' drama on it.

Those days were indeed golden age. And something else that comes to mind when I see this is a song title ''Die Without You'' by P.M DAWN

P.M Dawn: Die without you.
