Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by ebho: 5:59pm On Jan 02, 2019
Hi Guys,

I am thinking of investing in Tbills so I discussed with my account officer and I was sent this info

Indicative bank-advised bid rate for the 91 days, 182 days and 364 days are 10.75%, 12.50% and 14.00% respectively.

Market dynamics between time of this mail and auction date will however be considered before the bids rates are submitted. This implies the rates may change

However, the available rates for today are;

73days for 11%

183days for 12.75%

351days for 14.45%

what do you guys think?

Good morning all,

Please I am in a dilemma .

I am a guy who immigrated to Canada through Manitoba PNP route; My sister who's a PR in Manitoba actually sponsored me .

After spending a year there , I got a decent job in Nova Scotia and I left for it . I am currently working in Nova Scotia now.

My worry now is that this is going to affect her sponsoring other family members of ours .

I don't want to lose this Job and I don't wanna block other members of the family who want to come to Manitoba through PNP.

This has really given me sleepless nights and unhappy moments. I am sad .

Please elders, what can I do ? What is the way out ?

Thank You.

This is Risky, see an immigration lawyer as soon as possible or go back to Manitoba. What I know, your are suppose to stay a minimum of 3 years in manitoba before leaving.

I am graduating soon from a Canadian Uni, so, I started looking for jobs recently. Most of my job application thus far are through my university's career website and GC jobs. Not alot of info in the thread applies to individuals who studied here in Canada. However if anyone has info applicable to Fresh graduate in Canada, it will be well appreciated. Housing, I live in Montreal. not alot of Nigerian Skilled immigrant choose Quebec Province because of French Language grin Bonjour! Au revior! Recently, I realized that most of the people around me are young people with similar experience like me. Thus, There is a need to connect with folks that are older and more experienced, and those that I can learn from. Regulated profession, No Idea, havent done such yet! I think its worth it discussing about sexuality and racial oppression because they have influence on us and on those around us, especially in Canada

Does your school have practicum after the program? thats one way to get the skills which will get you the job, you can also try Indeed(search for it on Google)

Oh thanks. Please how much do people doing survival jobs earn per hour in winnipeg, and do such survival jobs require any canadian certification before being considered for employment? if you work in a regulated profession, was it difficult getting license to practice, and do you have any idea if Optometry jobs are easy to come by in Winnipeg?

It all depends it can start from 12 cad per hour to as much as 32cad dollars per hour.
My profession is regulated but currently in school ut not licensed yet. I will advise you look it up as I don't know much about optometry

Well in Manitoba Specifically Winnipeg Life is easy going and people here are very nice they are known as Friendly Manitobans.

I came here with my family so I can only relate to people with families, your kids are entitled to child benefits monthly and if you live below certain annual income you are entitled to Rent assist. There are jobs every where here but if you are selective you might have to wait a while.

That's the generality of it.

Weather Wise we are currently at -20 degrees but feels like -30 degree but this is no issue anymore you get used to it.

Not me really. I wanted you to break down your journey so far, so that some of our brethren interested in moving towards your end of the country, will have an idea on what to expect.

Congrats on your safe arrival in Maple land. I have been trying to understand your point in terms of showing POF at POE from your follow up posts but it's yet to be clear to me and I believe some other people are experiencing same embarassed

Please confirm that you had to show the "English speaking" babe..lolz..your phone in order to see the transaction/transfer you have just made to your dollar card?

I used my Tab, showing her my current balance in my dorm account and her question was is this bank here in Canada I said No. So she said the money has to be physically present in Canada either cash or cashless. Transfer was then made to my dollar card from my dorm account and account balance was shown to her from the Tab which she was Ok with.

I don't still get it.. Money is in Accts, not cards. We use cards to access accts. Ebho, come and explain more.

POF Money was already in my Domiciliary account not my Dollar Master Card. According to GTB your Dollar Master Card has a separate account number from your Dorm account. so the transfer can be done easily online only if you have an online banking activated for your by the bank.

Hi Guys,

Been a while, i am reporting live from Canada(Winnipeg) Landed on the 9th Of October. The Journey was Smooth we Bless God this Journey started here on this Platform i greet everyone of you here both Elders and Newbies.

we used Egypt air(Travel Start) Family of 4 from Abuja Nigeria to Canada. Egypt air was cool not as bad as people made it look, stopped at Cairo then boarded Toronto Canada.

we carried 5 strong Ghana must go backs and one Bus making it six luggage's it is not supposed to exceed 23kgs so na to weight the thing wella. if you are carrying food items ensure that are well preserved ie properly dried and grinded into powder and stored in Ziploc.

Abeg if una never book use Abuja to move out ooo, no stress from anybody there but ensure you get to the airport 2 hours before Boarding
so everything can be sorted out on time, but for us those Nigerian immigration guys be one tell me say my luggage plenty so i had to educate them that every passenger is entitled to 2 luggages and 1 hand bag and we were a family of 4 all this na to drop something sha.

our Luggage was not searched so just package your self nothing dey happen. so the journey to Cairo no wahala but the A/C for the plane na die, so wear better jacket for National peace. at Cairo waited for about 2 hours then we left to Toronto.

At Toronto now the immigration guys no get joy oooo, the babe come ask for all the document finally e come reach for the money we bring come Canada. so i told her we brought $1500 oboy no be small thing ooo this lady come dey speak english ooooo, as a sharp Nigeria guy before leaving Nigeria i activated online banking, dollar card and domiciliary account of all currency and change almost all the naira to dollar.

so we transfer all the money instantly to the dollar card and that was it. every other thing was history. Above all Pray before leaving, Baba God nia get Power.

Congratulations! I believe you have family in Winnipeg and that's why you've chosen to go there, otherwise, I'd have questioned your decision being that Manitoba is arguably the coldest region in Canada.

That will not be an issue as along as you meet the stipulated amount. Also write a letter of explanation telling them why you had to top the account and prove to them that the money used is yours.

Wow. Unbelievable. Congrats, this is so amazing.
Please share more information...No of dependants, NOC, travel history.

No of Dependants 4. Wifey was the primary applicant (Medical Doctor). I (Lecturer). We haven't travelled anywhere before. POF was a joint account. I believe POF is locked at the day of submission/AOR. But above all it was God that granted us Grace.
