This message is about how Jesus served as the ultimate sacrifice and how all the traditional little rituals our grandfathers and ancestors practised were/are unnecessary.

All humans are sinners when they are born. To say you are without sin is to make God a liar. As a sinner, we tend to do dishonourable, disgraceful, degrading things. And no matter what we do, without Christ, we can never really get rid of the inner shame we feel. Thankfully, Christ is ready to take all that pain and shame away. He already paid the price on the cross of calvary. He is ready to bestow us with salvation and grace if only we will turn to Him.

There are different types of wisdom: that which comes from above and the other, which is of this world. If you allow the wisdom of this world to direct your life, your soul is destined for destruction. Earthly wisdom makes us take bad decisions that harm us in the long run.

If you allow the things people say and do to drive you or distract you, you'll stop being the captain of your life. Other people will determine where you end up in life.

Watch the people you mingle with. If you claim to be a born-again Christian, yet you mingle with unbelievers, you will end up feeling divided. You must come out from among them in order to stand strong in the faith.

So today, I went to a 'Love Feast' organised for the young professionals in my church, and decided to share some of the stuff that I learnt. I believe someone can benefit from it like I did

Change your mind, change your life.
In order for your life to change, you need to change the following:

Character. Your character affects the way you think, talk, behave.

Romans 12:2 KJV
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Habit. This encompasses the things you do every day. If one of your habits isn't making you socially-acceptable or helping you achieve any of your desired goals, you need to change it. Break your bad habit or allow it to break you.

Attitude. When you change your attitude, your altitude changes as well. You can start by dropping the habit of complaining. Try to look at things from a different point of view.

Nutrition. You are what you eat. If you plan to live long enough to achieve your dreams or reap the rewards of your labour, you need to ensure you eat healthy foods. You can't be eating bread and coke every day and expect to be strong at 60. 60 is far. When you bombard your body with junk food regularly, your organs overwork themselves to maintain a state of normalcy and they depreciate rapidly.

Goal. If you've been pursuing a particular unattainable goal for years without making any headway, perhaps the time has come for you to change it.

Energy dissipation. What you put your energy into is what defines you. What do you put your energy into? What takes most of your energy? If it doesn't bring you peace, profit or progress, don't give it your energy.


That said, the program wasn't all preaching. We talked about upgrading ourselves.

Up-Skilling to Upgrade.

Understand your peculiar basics. You need to understand the basics or foundation of your career or field. Imagine claiming to have studied accounting or business administration in University, but being unable to prepare a balance sheet on request.

Partaking in professional bonding. Join communities of people in your field. Participate in or instigate hangout sessions, kinda like this one I attended. We had dinner afterwards. You could use that as an incentive to encourage people to come.

Stir up your perspectives and beliefs. Leave your comfort zone. Find out new and better ways of doing what you do or plan to do.

Keep people who are prosperity-minded in your circle. Have ambitious friends. Don't hang out with scammers who get some money, blow it, then rinse and repeat. Hang out with people with integrity that are concerned with growth.


We didn't have enough time to go more deeply into things.

My neighbour used to look at me in a funny way and act a bit hostile towards me a while back. I wondered why and finally deduced that it was because I used to spend a lot of time indoors, while they all went out to work. In her mind, I was acting like a big girl and was a bit of a snob.

Well, here's the secret my dear. It's not that I'm rich or don't need money. Of course I have needs. But I'm not worried because "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" (Phil. 4:7), and it dwells within me.

You see, when you follow Christ, things will ALWAYS go your way. God doesn't want us to suffer on this earth on which he's placed us. In fact, He wants us to have a great time - the best time. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." God wants you to have that thing you desire, and all He askes for in return is that you obey his commandments.

Psalm 1:1-3 says, "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. [2] But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. [3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

The truth is that if you've been poor and stagnant for the past couple of years, you're not an active believer. Nobody can serve God actively and suffer. You can take that statement to the bank.

You see sir, when one studies philosophy, one is thought about the conceptions of philosophy, one of which is the master-scientist conception. It basically states that knowledge can be acquired through the senses, i.e., we can experience knowledge and determine whether or not it's true.

That said, let me just say that I have felt God, I commune with Him, and my important actions, which usually yield favourable outcomes, are guided by him. Heck, sometimes, I could be in an unknown environment, searching for something or someone, and I'll stop and say 'Lord lead me', and before you know it, the thing I'm searching for will be directly in front of me.

I used to be like you. I considered myself smart; heck I thought of myself as a female, Nigerian Sheldon (from the Big Bang theory), but when I encountered God, I realised just how foolish and devoid of real knowledge that I really was.

It's hard for many non-believing humans to perceive God. The scriptures rightly say in Acts 28:26-27, "...Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: [27] For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."

The scriptures say ask and ye shall receive. Knock, and the door shall be opened unto you. The truth is right there in front of you. All you need to do to find out if God is real is to earnestly ask Him.

In addition, not everything is always as it seems. A person might look or appear poor to you, and yet, they live like kings privately. I once went to a compound and saw an old man, who I assumed to be a cleaner, sweeping outside. It turned out that he was a Deeper Life pastor who lived in the same compound. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." God wants you to have that thing you desire, and all He askes for in return is that you obey his commandments.

Psalm 1:1-3 says, "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. [2] But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. [3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."

The truth is that if you've been poor and stagnant for the past couple of years, you're not an active believer. Nobody can serve God actively and suffer. You can take that statement to the bank.

Doubt and unbelief have cost humans so many precious things. Thousands of Israelites left Egypt, but were unable to reach Canaan because of their unbelief.

When Peter saw Jesus walk on water, he asked Jesus if he could join him. Jesus said come, but unfortunately, Peter began to sink because his faith wavered.

When you possess unshakeable faith and walk on the Word of God, it will be like you're walking on water.

Don't ever pay attention to doubt. Don't even allow yourself to contemplate the possibility of failure to acquire what you want.

1)How to defeat the doubting Thomas in you.

Most people refuse to believe anything unless they can see physical evidence of the claim.

God says He can heal your sickness, that He can renew your spirit, that He can transform you and change your life, but you're saying "I don't believe in all that religious stuff", "I'm agnostic", "I'm a free-thinker (whatever that means)", or "I'm clearing my karma in this life.".

As you grow older, if you want to remain a visionary person, you need fresh thoughts and fresh ideas.

Man has an outward man and an inner man. As a human ages, the outward man is visible through the wrinkles and grey hair. The inner man, on the other hand, can either be a curious child who is always eager to learn and be joyful through edification by the Word, or a bitter spirit who is constantly sour and trying to numb his pain through harmful means due to troubling worldly issues.

Jesus said that in order to enter the Kingdom of God, a person must be like a little child.

We must constantly strive to have a youthful inner man. We must starve doubt and throw away fear. We must believe the undiluted Word of God.

Acts 27:25 KJV
Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

I can see the chaos in the country. I can see the storm in the world. But I don't believe the words of men (the creation); I believe the Word of God (the creator).

When you isolate yourself from the naysayers, you can do anything.

3) Demonstrating destiny-defining triumph throughout our years.

In life, we're constantly demonstrating things - how smart we are, how fascinating we are, how heartless we are, how weak we are, how cynical we are, etc.

Everything we demonstrate or do determines where we end up in life.

-Your actions define your destiny.
-The people you associate with define your destiny.
-The person you marry defines your destiny.
-The places you visit define your destiny.

You must constantly think about your destiny. WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE? Every decision you've taken up till this present moment have put you in the exact position you're currently in.

You can do anything that has been done on this earth, only if you believe you can.

Anger and doubt are the main things that can hinder answers to your prayers.

The disciples weren't doubting the Word, weren't debating, weren't questioning the promises of God, and guess what happened. They were able to perform miracles.

Discouragement is one of the weapons of the devil. If discouragement penetrates your mind, doubt will follow, and your prayers won't be answered.

My future is posing so much threat to my mental well-being and calls for serious help.
I've always been of the school of thought that decisions burdening on one's future should be the product of the person's deep thinking and not advice on social media platforms. Alas I was wrong!

THIS IS MY SITUATION
I would be 34 by February next year. I am a graduate of Biochemistry and I have been working as a teacher in a state government owned secondary School for the past 3 years.
Growing up, I've been passionate about studying medicine but couldn't due to financial constraints.
When I got my present job in 2021, the passion started coming back gradually but I ignored it and opted for a side hustle in software engineering. Late last year I got enrolled into alx software engineering program. I'll be done by the 22nd of this month. I've learnt a lot and acquired a lot of skills as well.
Despite this, the passion still keeps staring at me.
The issue here is, at my age is:
1. Is it a great idea going back to school to study medicine?
2. Should I go for computer science so as to boost my chances in the field of software engineering?
3. Or should I settle for PGD in education, then masters, to encourage my career growth in my present job?

I NEED SERIOUS ADVICE PLEASE.

You've only got one life sir. Spend it doing something that gives you genuine happiness. Imagine sitting in front of your computer 10 years from now, typing lines and lines of code, all the while thinking of the life that could have been.
