Ok, let me help u... Starling's law states that the force of contraction of the heart is proportional to the initial length of the muscle fibre.... Therefore, anything that will increase the length, eg increased blood volume, will lead to an increased force of contraction, leading to increased cardiac output... If there is a high peripheral resistance, you know where that will lead to...... BTW, nobody has answered my clinical questions...[/quote yes....it will lead to increased arterial blood pressure....thanks so much...did i get the erb palsy? |
oluafolabi: Errm.. Senior colleagues .. Abeg stop oppressing us here oo.. Loool!!.. Happy new week to y'all...what level are u? |
Lagusta: Hmmm, this thread is getting boring....hmmmm...erb palsy is injury to the upper trunk of the brachial plexus...leading to the arm being abducted and medially rotated then the forearm being adducted and laterally rotated...it is also called policeman tips syndrome.....for starlings law of heart...i think is about the stepcase mechanism...that impulse keeps increasing twice as b4...av forgotten it...can u help @lagusta? |
Hello fello medics! I need serious advice from u guys. Earlier on, i posted sumtin abt d accreditation ish ma sch is having. The accreditation team came around few weeks ago to inspect the school facilities and we r very optimistic that very soon we wud b re accredited and finally write all pending MB exams. Now the thing is i am sick and tired of schooling here. Want a total change of environment, like travelling outta d country. Like seriously ma mind no dey here again, I hardly even read again cos d zeal is gone. I want a fresh start. Nw ma question is, wud u guys advice me to go ahead wt ma "travelling out" plans and start all over again, forgetting d fact that am in 300L, waiting for ma 1st MB. Am 22 yrs of age, male. Got admitted 2008 which means have spent 4 years here. Considering all dis, what do u guys think?[/quote wic school |

Jeffbaba: Meehn am so so happy to be a medical student oo. I'm a very tall, handsome dude, with muscular body build too...i'm sure babes will go head over heels for me in med school. Even the nursing students and my fellow female medics. That name 'doctor' draws a lot of respect and admiration from everybody we encounter. @docs in the house what is ur social life like...are babes easier to get with the 'doc' status? Lets digress a little bit......at least there should be a fun side to the gruesome tasks we go through.in my school there is word used frequently...'the dream of every nurse is so marry a Doctor'.....nursing students chase medics like mad...i have advances coming from medical lab, even my fellow female medic....but as lagusta said....be focused...if not when u FAIL MB...u are on ur own ooo....the name go die for ur side |
