I don't understand why one will base their advice to all based on a single experience. There are thousands of men who upgraded their wives and are now happily reaping the benefits. We are too quick to paint with a broad brush.

It has nothing to do with the upgrade.

USA provides a certain level of comfort that women would be foolhardy to refuse especially if they have a relation over there doing well. You could have billions of naira in your account in Nigeria, maids, drivers, cars and mansions; but once you drive outside of your mansion, Nigeria stares you in the face. Women are built for comfort. But you could have something equivalent abroad and still live a decent private life. How many years do we have in this life? Beyond a certain age, people learn that there are things more important in life than account balance eg. not being diabetic or hypertensive.

Noise from generators alone is enough to make someone abandon ship.

In all fairness, I think we should have a law that allows the federal government allocate a particular amount of money to all parties running for presidential election.

One of the conditions is that they must outline up-to-date guidelines on how they intend to disburse the funds and receipts to the EFCC and ICPC for investigation. If we don't do this, politicians will continue to steal public funds to finance expensive presidential elections.

Gibberish. The Ikwerre people will continue to decide who rules Rivers State in the next 50 years. Ikwerre land hosts the 75% of the non-indigenousgroups in Rivers State. Of these groups, Igbos are about 50%, Akwa-Cross 30% and the remaining 20% cut across other nationalities. Guess what! The three dominant non-indigenous groups have the same voting pattern with the Ikwerre. Forget what you read on Nairaland, Ikwerre and Igbo are the same politically if you have been to Port Harcourt and Ikwerre people are using the voting strength of the Igbos to their advantage. I believe it's one of the reasons Peterside lost in 2015 because no Igbo or Akwa-Cross could vote for APC.

The Wife of Ebonyi Governor, Mrs. Racheal Umahi, has welcomed the state’s first baby of 2023 at the Alex-Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital (AE-FETHA) Abakaliki, delivered around 12:52 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023.

Umahi on Sunday with her team welcomed the baby in Abakaliki.

The baby girl, weighing 3. kg at birth, was given birth to by a National Youth Service Corps member, Mrs. Chidimma Attah-Favour, who is serving in Ebonyi and hail from Nuskka in Enugu state.


Speaking during her visit to the first baby who was delivered through spontaneous vagina delivery (SVD), offered prayers for the first baby and thanked God for safe delivery.

She however commended the hospital’s management for their commitment and attention given to women so far in the hospital.

She urged the parents of the baby to bring her up properly to better their family and society.

"2023 is a unique year and God proved himself mighty and we appreciated God for keeping everyone alive to see the New Year.

“We join the family of this baby to thank God for safe delivery and the gift of a baby girl.

“The child will be great. fill her with God's word and knowledge properly for the betterment of society and her family,” Umahi advised.

The Chairman of, the Medithe cal Advisory Committee, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, Dr. Richard Ewa said the baby was had through normal delivery.

Ewa commended Mrs. Umahi and Governor David Umahi for their support and contributions to the hospital so far.

“The baby was born at 12:52a.m, weighing 3kg, and was delivered by a corp member serving in the state.

Mr. Chijioke Attah-favour Parents of the first baby, expressed satisfaction over the visit and commended Mrs. Umahi for the gift, and promised to bring her up properly.

"We are overwhelmed over the visit and gifts presented. And we thank God for safe delivery," They said.

The Agency reports that Mrs. Umahi presented various baby items, and foodstuffs to the baby’s mother at the hospital.
