By now, you should know that Nigerians don't chill when it comes to savagery, and one of those who just fell into their 'hot soup' is Sen. Dino Melaye. The Senator from Kogi State, launched his book titled 'Antidotes to Corruption' today in Abuja, and most Nigerians weren't pleased with this as it had something to do with 'corruption'. In a bid to make a fortune mining a stone thousand times rarer than diamonds, a Tanzanian woman, Pili Hussein, dressed as a man and fooled her male colleagues for almost a decade, because women weren’t allowed down the mines. “My father treated me like a boy and I was given livestock to take care of – I didn’t like that life at all,” she said. BBC reports that she left her abusive husband at the age of 31 and in search of work, she found herself in the small Tanzanian town of Mererani, in the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro – the only place in the world where mining for a rare, violet-blue gemstone called tanzanite takes place. “Women were not allowed in the mining area, so I entered bravely like a man, like a strong person. You take big trousers, you cut them into shorts and you appear like a man. That’s what I did. I acted like a gorilla – I could fight, my language was bad, I could carry a big knife. I was called Uncle Hussein, I didn’t tell anyone my actual name was Pili. Even today if you come to the camp you ask for me by that name, Uncle Hussein.” In the tight confines of the hot, dirty tunnels – some of which extend hundreds of metres below the ground – Pili would work 10-12 hours a day, digging and sieving, hoping to uncover gemstones in the veins in the graphite rock. “I could go 600m under, into the mine. I would do this more bravely than many other men. I was very strong and I was able to deliver what men would expect another man could do.” Pili says that nobody suspected that she was a woman. A year later, she uncovered two massive clusters of tanzanite stones. With the money, she built new homes for her father, mother and twin sister, bought herself more tools, and began employing miners to work for her. A local woman had reported that she’d been defiled by some of the miners and Pili was arrested as a suspect. “When the police came, the men who did the rape said: ‘This is the man who did it,’ and I was taken to the police station,” Pili said. She had no choice but to reveal her secret. Many didn't believe after the police confirmed until she got married in 2001. http://www.lailasblog.com/2017/05/i-acted-as-man-for-decade-until-i-was.html Lalasticlala, mynd44

A retired ExxonMobil worker, , Dr. Idongesit Udom, who was held captive for 31 days in Kidanpper's den, has finally regained his freedom. However, the retired staff, who is also the Proprietor of Sure Foundation Polytechnic, Ukanafun Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, lost one of his fingers chopped off for failure to pay the N70 million ransom demanded. According to a family source, Dr. Idongesit, who was kidnapped in his village, Nneke, on April 9, was released in the early hours of Wednesday, at Aba, Abia State, after a N5 million ransom was paid. “The kidnappers were angry when N5m was paid to them. They told the family contact that the N5m was for the victim’s welfare. Maybe because they could not get more money, they decided to chop off one of his fingers. However, the family is happy that he is alive. He is currently receiving treatment in a hospital after being in the kidnappers’ custody for one month. The kidnappers had demanded N500 million ransom from Udom’s family but later reduced it to N70 million after two weeks of negotiation. . At a point, they asked that Sure Foundation Polytechnic be sold to raise the ransom" he said. When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Chukwu Ikechuwu, who confirmed Dr. Udom’s release, added that investigations were still ongoing to track down the hoodlums. http://www.lailasblog.com/2017/05/kidnappers-free-ex-mobil-staff-after-31.html Lalasticlala

Ace Nigerian comedian, AY Makun, just had a street in an estate he once lived in named after him. The happy comedian who took to Instagram to share the good news, wrote; ”I have seen streets in our cities been named after many famous people from politics, to sports, and to other people who served or contributed to the social cultural development of our country in one way or the other. But i never knew that a day would come where i would be ‘famous’ enough to have a street named in my honour. As I say a big thank you to the management of Haven Homes, i just want to use this same opportunity to charge lovers and followers of the AY brand up a little. My prayer is for everyone of you to be remembered and celebrated for something. Get off that bed this morning and infuse your life with action. Don’t wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope.Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen…” http://www.lailasblog.com/2017/05/ay-makun-happy-to-have-street-named.html Lalasticlala

Five Star Music boss, Kcee, in an interview with HipTV, talked about artistes who throw the contract they signed with their music label after they become successful, into the ditch. Kcee who dragged Harrysong, an artiste who was signed to his record label to the Police, advised music label owners, to make sure the artiste understands what he or she is signing, before they go into it. Here's what he said; "Most of these guys are hungry, and they are not interested in reading your contract. You type a contract for an upcoming artist, of 10 pages. Hes not interested in reading the contract. All he's interested in for you to put him on the camera and let him shoot a video. Put them in a studio to record music. And he wants to see himself in South Africa, London. That's what he interested in. Once he gets that, he's satisfied. The next thing is how he's going to do without you and he's going to forget your contract. So its high time we, the record label owners, try to make these guys go through their contracts. Read it for them line by line, get your lawyer sit with them and they should get their lawyer or someone from their own angle. Because some of them don't have family when they come to you, but all of a sudden, when they become huge and big, they have families and friends. They come to fight for them. So I think we should put that in play when they are being signed, They should bring that their friends and their families from the initial stage, to come and help them read the contract, before you invest. It's not easy to give them a platform, money, and all the investment that is needed, and when the person gets to this level, they want to throw you aside. Sometimes it's hurting, some of these record label owners don't find it funny. And away from that, the blessings that goes with that, you will lose it by the time you breach your contract. Because for someone to invest a dime in you, it's like a risk because you don't know if that person is going to make it. So when you now make it and you think you can do without the person, not in a proper way or fulfilling your obligations, trust me, even God in heaven is not going to be happy with you. So I think the advice is that we the record label owners should also make sure that they know what they are signing this time, before they go into it. Don't try to pretend to make them fell like you are tying them down, you are tying yourself down because at the end of the day, they will fight you, you will go to court. So lets do that from the beginning and settle it before we move on." http://www.lailasblog.com/2017/05/god-will-not-be-happy-with-artistes-who.html Lalasticlala

Nollywood actress, Liz Anjorin, has slammed single ladies who take sides in marital issues, but have never been married. According to the beautiful actress, ladies who are above 30, single and haven't gotten married before, but take sides in any marital issue, need to be delivered in a church. Here's what she wrote; "If you are above 30 and you are still single and haven't taste marriage before and you are taking sides in Marital issues, my dear you need MFM deliverance.Do you pray for your Uncle/Brother/Father to spend all his life in prison because of Marital issues or will you pray for your sister/mother to die in the hand of any man .. Before we kill domestic violence, let's kill the domestic animal in us.. some of us cannot even tolerate our house help, Inlaws even our own family not to talk of our life partner."Note, we are all ANIMAL because some of us cannot even yield to our parent advice/corrections. Let your relationship that bring evil, sadness and didn't add any value to your life between your husband/wife/family even your parent END in PEACE not in PIECES.. I won't stand by anybody, I stand by peace.. I will be glad if Government can enforce 6months counselling on Marital Affairs before any Marriage.. A fire incident which happened on Saturday evening at Makoko and Satellite Town areas of Lagos State, has left a seven-day-old baby dead, and copies of West African Senior School Certificate Examination results badly burnt. It was gathered that the baby was burnt to death in Makoko, in the fire incident that occurred due to a resident's carelessness, after she left what she was cooking on a stove unattended to. A firefighter said; “We gathered that a woman was cooking food; she left the place and forgot it. “The fire started from there and razed a lot of makeshift structures to the ground. “In the confusion that greeted the incident, the parents of the child left him inside the house. By the time they remembered that he was in the house and tried to rescue him, it was too late. The child had been burnt to death. He was supposed to be named today (Sunday). “Four fire trucks from the Lagos State Fire Service responded to a distress call from the area and put out the fire in the early hours of Sunday.” Punch Metro also reported that the second fire incident, was caused by an electric spark from a cable triggered the fire, which damaged 32 flats. This occurred in a building that used to be known as Stepping Stone Comprehensive Girls College. A firefighter, who was at the scene, said while a woman was injured, copies of burnt WASSCE results were found in the building. “The place used to be a school. It was converted to 32 apartments. A woman was injured, while WASSCE results of many former students were burnt. We cannot tell the number of results, but they were many. “Also, 11 gas cylinders were burnt, with seven air conditioners. About 20 families were affected. It was the state fire service that initially responded before the Federal Fire Service was also called. The fire was put out around 12.25am on Sunday" he said. Nigeria's ex-Minister for Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has written an open letter to his friend, Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro's decision to join the All Progressives Congress. In his letter, he told the ex-Senator former Nigeria's Ambassador to Ghana, that you don't fight evil by joining it. Here's his letter; "My brother Musiliu Obanikoro's decision to join the APC irks and saddens me. I say this because I have always loved him and I care. You cannot fight evil by joining it. You cannot bring light by entering the darkness. You cannot find joy by partaking in the bread of sorrows. You cannot run away in the heat of battle. You must have the courage of your convictions. Where is your honor? Where is your strength? Where is your dignity? Where is your self-respect? Where is your sense of self-worth? You and I are royalty. We are Princes and Kings and children of the Living God. We were taught and brought up to fight to the end and never to bow to the enemy. We were taught never to flinch before oppression. We were taught never to give in to our worst fears and to those who hate us and who despise our people. We were taught never to crawl on the floor and be slaves to our fellow men. Always remember that rebellion against a tyrant is an act of obedience to God. They may have today but tomorrow belongs to us. Finally take note of this: if you are not ready to die for something then you are not worthy of living for anything. I would rather die a free man than live a slave. And as long as I live the Yoruba, nay the south, shall offer some form of resistance to our collective oppressors and as surely as God lives we shall never be slaves." http://www.lailasblog.com/2017/05/you-cant-fight-evil-by-joining-it_7.html Lalasticlala

Nigerian gay activist, Bisi Alimi, has written an epistle telling Nigerians that it is not their responsibility to take care of their parents, neither is it the right of their parents. According to him, a child owes his/her parent nothing, as he/she never begged them to have sex. He went further to disclose that a child, is not an old age pension scheme. He went further to tell Nigerians not to succumb to emotional blackmail from their parents, or they will milk them dry. Here's what he wrote; "Nigerians, doomed financial vicious circle is when your parents brought you up so you can be their cow to milk, while you look forward to doing same to your children. I understand that the system is bleeped, pension money is being embezzled by stupid greedy politicians, the same ones you worship and bow to, and there is no guarantee for old age, but Bleep, the system won't fix itself. If you don't resist, you will be consumed. The idea that it is the responsibility of the struggling young to take care of the struggling old is a myth sold to you by the corrupt politicians who have stolen the resources of your commonwealth. Remember, one rich man among 100 poor men will eventually end up being poor. You only have two commitments in life; yourself and your children and that's until they are old enough to be kicked out of the house. You do not, I repeat, you do not owe your parents any pay back unless you are still living with them, which means get the Bleep out or start paying rent and bills. Remember, you didn't beg them to have sex, they wanted to have children, it's their choice, you should not be their old age pension scheme. Only do it if you can and have the resources to, but even with that, know the limit or they will emotionally blackmail you and milk you dry." http://www.lailasblog.com/2017/05/it-is-not-your-responsibility-to-take.html Lalasticlala

A hacker who was allegedly paid 600K, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abeokuta, Ogun State, for allegedly erecting a radio mast with the aim of hacking the virtual Private network of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board. He was arrested alongside the proprietor of Bright Technologies, an IT company, whose name was not given. The hacker’s wife and other accomplices were also arrested by the NSCDC team from Abuja. Two suspects were said to be on the run, the Punch reports. One of the suspects, identified only as Tosin, allegedly confessed that the deal they were contracted for was to extend the JAMB network, from an accredited Computer Based Test centre in Abeokuta to some cyber cafe operators in the area where candidates can be registered illegally for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The corps claimed that during the interrogation, the proprietor also confessed that he created over 400 User Names and passwords. “We are using unlicensed spectrum to transmit to our customers using 2.4 gigabyte and 5.8 gigabyte radio. On March 28, they came from Kindle e-Learning Service that they wanted Internet services and after three days, they came again, (Tosin, Segun and Jide) that they wanted us to configure VPN for them. “They told me they needed our services only during the JAMB registration and on April 1, we went to their office. They gave me the IP (Internet Protocol) address and I did pinging from my own Router. I have collected about N600,000 so far from Kindle e-Learning,” he allegedly confessed. The JAMB Head of Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the intention of the group was to completely demobilise the Board process. “With what we saw, we are of the strong opinion that the DSS should also come in to consolidate on the investigation done by NSCDC. “This is because if this group has the IP address of any bank; they could take the whole money in the banks" he said. http://www.lailasblog.com/2017/05/civil-defence-corps-arrest-man-his-wife_1.html

Few days, the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, made news headline for allegedly disgracing the Ooni of Ife at a function. According to the statement credited to the Oba of Lagos' palace, Oba Akiolu who snubbed the Ooni of Ife, was trying to bring back an old way of greeting. Nigerians have dug out photos of the Oba greeting people, and its no way like the way he 'snubbed' the Ooni of Ife. Here's what High-Chief Humanbeing Oyede wrote; See below the way Oba of Lagos dey greet others and reconcile it with the 'traditional way' he greeted the Oni of Ife. ( I leave you to be the judge here.) "--- the Lagos Monarch did not ignore Ooni of Ife at the public function as being misconceived by people. He said Oba Akiolu’s response to Ooni is the culturally acclaimed way of greeting by a monarch in Lagos. He added that the Lagos King is basically trying to revive the culture and tradition of ancient Lagos which is peculiar to the State. Other tribes also have their peculiar ways of greeting. “The sign by Oba Akiolu signifies, ‘inu mi, inu e’, the culture of greeting in Lagos. if Oba Akiolu wanted to ignore, he would have turned his face away from Ooni,” he said. In his words, "there is no misunderstanding between both highly revered Monarchs in Yoruba Land”. “There is no sentiment in the culture of Lagos. As we met it that is the way we are doing it. Kabiesi Oba Akiolu is trying to bring back the old pattern, the old culture we have left behind” Here are photos; http://www.lailasblog.com/2017/04/throwback-photos-of-how-oba-of-lagos.html Lalasticlala
