The Lagos State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, has detained a 34-year-old Lagos driver, Benjamin, in Amoshe town, Meiran, for reportedly beating his wife, Stella, to death for getting drunk. 

According to Punch Metro, Benjamin killed his wife when she returned home drunk after 'having fun' in a bar she had gone to with her three friends Fatima, Kafaya – and a man, Wasiu. 

A 34-year-old commercial driver in Amoshe town, Meiran, Lagos State, has been detained by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, for allegedly killing his wife.

It was gathered that after he had beaten her mercilessly and realized that she was dying, he quickly rushed her to a church for prayer. However when she was later taken to a hospital in the neighborhood, she was confirmed dead. 

According to Mr. Samson Adedeji who lives in the area, Benjamin usually assaulted his wife whenever she was drunk.


“The wife came back home on Saturday, July 1, drunk. Her husband was angry, but people begged him to allow her sleep. He didn’t heed to their plea. He beat her up seriously. It was the following day that I was told the wife died in a hospital" he said. 

However, Benjamin reportedly told the police that Stella was poisoned at a beer parlour.


He said, “I think she was poisoned because she vomited. She went to drink with her friends. I didn’t beat her.”


But one of the deceased’s friends, Fatimoh, who was also arrested by the police, refuted Benjamin’s claim.


“The four of us were together that day. We took a bottle of beer each. My friend died from the injuries inflicted on her by her husband. She didn’t fight with anybody at the bar,” she added.
However, a police source said the case had been transferred to the SCIID, Yaba, adding that a manhunt had been launched for the other two friends of the deceased.

Polytechnic graduates can now heave a sigh of relief, as the Nigerian government in a statement released on Thursday, announced that it has approved the regularization of “the dichotomy between holders of university degrees and HND (higher national diploma)” in the civil defence, fire, immigration, and prison services.

The approval came after Nigeria's minister of interior Abdulrahman Dambazau, held a meeting with civil defence, fire, immigration and prisons board (CDFIPB).

Here's an excerpt from the statement;

"The civil defence, fire, immigration and prisons board (CDFIPB), at the end of its meeting held on Tuesday, 11th July 2017, under the chairmanship of the honourable minister of interior, Lt.-Gen. (Rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, approved the regularisation of the dichotomy between holders of university degrees and higher national diploma (HND) in all the services.

To this end, the board directed that all officers with HND to be upgraded to Compass 08, which is the salary grade level for holders of degree certificates at entry point. While the nomenclature for the HND holders will start with the rank of senior inspector, the degree holders are with the rank of assistant superintendent II."

A school boy who has been identified as Mubarak Ismaila, has been found wandering in Kaduna after he was reportedly kidnapped while trying to help some unknown men push their car in Abuja.

According to the school boy, he is a student of "Alhayat" in Dakwa, Abuja. Here's what Facebook user, Al-Amasiriyyu Don S wrote; 

"This boy was found boy at Nnamdi Azikwe express way kaduna his Name is Mubarak is mail, he said he was taken away by unknown men in trying to help them push a car. Olumba Olumba Obu who addressed his members in Calabar, Cross River State, directed members of  his organization in Nigeria to embark on what he called, “outing-sing and pray for the president.”

“The President of Nigeria, our own president, will soon return to the country, and in good health. Let us pray, thanking God for his good health,” he said.

Recall that Olumba had recently said Buhari would not die in office, adding that he would accomplish his tenure if he worked as a father of the nation, accommodating all sections and interests of Nigerians.

A man who robs in Hijab, has been apprehended and put in custody in Niger state. Facebook user, Jonpaul Oshioke Umoru, who shared the story alleged that that's the latest prank employed by Handset robbers after dark in the state. They wear hijabs, trail you from behind to portray a feminine character, and whilst you let down your guard, they catch up and strike at any resistance.

Suspected armed robbers who stormed the home of Nigeria's Surveyor General, have been arrested by officers attached to Cross River State Police Command .

It was gathered that a tracking device monitored from the phone belonging to the surveyor general, led to their arrest.

One of the robber is from Ekori, in Yakurr LGA, while the other is from Ikom in Ikom LGA. A girl from Akwa Ibom was also arrested.

An ex-Nigerian soldier, Obadiah Ayuba, who was dismissed from the Nigerian army over unprofessional actions, including robbery and absconding from duty, has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command after he stole his friend's car  day after he was dismissed.

Ayuba who confessed to committing the said offence, said that he stole the car on June 15, 2017 after his friend, Abubakar, who he stormed a nightclub with asked him to drop a female friend. He was however arrested five days later.





Ayuba said;

 “We went to a night club and left around 3am. He said he wanted to see his mechanic, who was repairing a vehicle for him. We headed to my friend’s mechanic workshop and decided to sleep in the car until morning.



He later left me and a female friend of his in the car while he went to see the mechanic. When the lady was complaining, I called him and explained to him that she wanted to go home.



He told me to help drop her at home and I did so. That was how I absconded with the car. I used it as taxi to earn some money. When I was arrested, some passengers were in the car. I served at the 81 Batallion, Mokola, Ibadan before I was dismissed on June 14, 2017 after a court martial.”

The on-going feud between Blac Chyna and her ex-boyfriend Rob Kardashian might be settled in court, as it’s been gathered that Blac Chyna is exploring all legal remedies over her nude that was released.

“I am exploring all legal remedies and protections available to my client at this time in attempts to best advise her on how she may want to proceed,” Walter Mosley said in a statement to PEOPLE on Wednesday evening.
Recall that30-year-old Rob shared several nude photographs of his on-off girlfriend on Instagram as he accused her of cheating on him with eight men in less than a month. But Kardashian’s Instagram meltdown may have broken California’s 2013 revenge porn laws where it is considered a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

According to a source, Rob has also sent people to pick up non-existent things from Blac Chyna’s house.

“There needs to be boundaries set as it’s currently getting out of hand,” says the source.
A second source also said;

“She’s had to have a new phone number every month and constantly has to change her number. While everyone is writing stories and thinking it’s fun gossip, it’s actually dangerous,” the source said.
Revenge porn is illegal in CA and it certainly appears to me that Rob has violated this criminal law,’ LA lawyer Lisa Bloom told the New York Daily News.

Bloom, who recently won a victory for her client Mischa Barton after her ex posted revenge porn of the actress, said that even the fact that Chyna ‘liked’ one of the images on Instagram does not affect her case.

She added that “the allegation of infidelity does not give someone the right to seek revenge in such a devastating way.”

A beneficiary of Nigerian Airforce school release programme and also the Supervisor of the Computer Centre at 051 Personnel Management Centre at the NAF Base in Ikeja, Lagos, Master Warrant Officer Enem Theophilus Aniemeka of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has emerged the overall best graduating doctorate student at the Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State. 

The Nigerian Military man who defied all odds to enroll for the PhD Programme in Computer Science (Networking Telecommunication) in 2012 after having earlier bagged a Master of Science degree in Information Technology from the National Open University of Nigeria,  was presented with the award at the University’s graduation ceremony, which held on 4 June 2017.

MWO Aniemeka whose thesis was on “Transmission Control Protocol’s Initial Congestion Window for Web Latency Reduction and Speedy Flows”, graduated with the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.67 to receive the award. 

And it was gathered that his research work was able to propose solution to the problem of short lived connections in Internet network in Nigeria. This would potentially enable internet users in Nigeria to have better service by improving page loading time.

Nigerian rapper, Yung6ix, who will soon be making history with Vector and other rappers by breaking Guinness Book of Record 13 hours rap, in an interview with Sunday Scoop claimed that only broke guys complain about women liking too much money.

This is coming after the rapper in a social media post, advised men who want to end their relationship with ladies who love money so much, to see that as motivation to work for more money.

A breastfeeding Mom who work with University of Cape Town, in South Africa, has reportedly dragged her colleague to court, for secretly filming her while she breastfed her baby.

The sued man reportedly committed the said offence by setting up a live link in a private room at the institution on June 13. The lady who was disgusted with this, said she can not understand how providing food for her baby was “sexualised in such a cowardly way.”

The University has however, suspended the man, as Western Cape police have also confirmed that a case of crimen injuria — the intentional harming of someone’s dignity — is being investigated against the 38-year old university employee.

According South Africa's local media, the victim had been in what she thought was a “safe, locked space” expressing milk, when she noticed that she was being filmed.

Billionaire Kidnapper Evans, has reportedly dragged the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and three others before the Federal High Court in Lagos over alleged illegal detention.

It was gathered that Evans who dragged the Nigeria Police Force, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Police Command, prayed the court for an order compelling the respondents to immediately release him unconditionally, in the absence of any offence that will warrant his being charged to court.

His Lagos Based counsel Olukoya Ogungbeje, who filed the fundamental rights enforcement suit  on behalf of the suspected kidnapper, is praying for the order of court to direct the respondents to immediately charge him to court if there is any case against him in accordance with Sections 35 (1) (c) (3) (4) (5) (a) (b) and 36 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Nollywood actress has called out Cool FM's controversial OAP, Daddy Freeze, who slammed Nathaniel Bassey's Hallelujah challenge a.k.a OlowoGboboro, after he wrote a rejoinder to the post after he discovered that the Gospel artiste is dropping a single titled 'OlowoGboboro'.

According to Daddy Freeze, the Gospel Artiste started the Gospel revolution on social media because he wants to drop and followers were not intelligent enough to decipher that.

Then he reposted what an Instagram user wrote;

However, Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, who has been an ardent follower of the social media program, seem not to agree with him, and wrote;

Daddy Freeze who seem not okay with what Funke wrote, replied;

Set to release his album 'Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee', in September 2017, three-time Grammy Award winner, Wyclef Jean, has revealed why his first track off the album was titled 'Fela Kuti'.
 
In his interview with XXL Magazine, the Haitian rapper and Musician said the lead song is inspired by the Nigerian Afrobeat legend and it samples his 'Eko Ile' track. He went further to disclose that he named it Fela Kuti because he wants kids not just to download the song but Google Fela and know who he's and what he means.
 
Wyclef also revealed that he  shared some things with the late Nigerian music legend, which includes studying Jazz in the UK, contested for President in their respective countries and had their songs helping the poor masses to reach out to the government.
'I decided to name it Fela Kuti because, for me, I feel like we be thinking of [Bob] Marley, we give a lot of people from our past props, so when the kids hear Fela Kuti, I really want them to Google it.

Fela Kuti studied jazz in England. Wyclef studied jazz at Vailsburg High School. Fela Kuti then went back to his country and tried to help his country by running for president. Wyclef, you know, did the same thing.
 
Then, Fela, through all his obstacles and all that, his music is what pillared him right back to the top. He understood the strongest way to help politically was to make sure the music was bangin'. So for me, the same way kids can have songs called 'Wyclef Jean' who are influenced by me, I want kids to know who Fela is and what he means.”

Earlier today, we reported that a 50-year-old lady, Omolayo Oyeyemi Oyewole, an ordained Deaconess of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) of Fountain of Living Water Parish, Tudun Wada, Abuja, who has never been married, walked down the aisle with her heartthrob, Pastor Mike Gbade Adetutu, who is a widower, in Abuja, over the weekend.
