Well, as the distinguished history keeper of this great association, it is my duty to present to us all in this grand event, the history of this thread and subsequently, that of the prestigious association of local men and women (AOLMAW) OF NNPC.

The thread was created by one of our very own @Dmainman on Wednesday, the 13th of march 2019 at exactly 2:39pm. It turned out that one of the most decorated government owned company had published an advert for vacancies in its various subsidiaries..

Till this very day, the number of persons who registered online for the recruitment is unknown, though some sources has stated something in the range of 800 thousand and/or above. Registration process was greatly marred by difficlties in uploading passports which made a good number of applicant to fall out of the race.

A month after the online registration closed, came the invite for a cbt test. It is rumoured among local men and women, that about 60000 persons wrote the cbt test all over the country in about 190 cbt test centers. The cbt test was considerably thought to be 'cheap' by a good number of local men and women while others felt it was a deliberate setup by the organizers as they were very aware of online platforms like this one that had dished out various test past questions with a lot of difficult samples. Yours faithfully, the distinguished historian wrote his cbt in one of the middle belt states, 7am and he was very excited as evident to the cordinators. He had looked forward to this for "years".

Invite for interview came less than a month after the cbt exams were conducted. It came with mixed feelings as joy sparkled the air for those who had received while those who did not receive, broke down amidst tears.
It is worthy to note that this period was crucial to the formation of the prestigious association of local men and women as it brought pioneers of the association into limelight, notable amongst these great men and women are:

Sir jarus, mosgoon, enireqx, teaser4, beeam, bobowaje, chasteguy, macgyver1, gbyms, csrockefeller, gbriels, mathology, sempumpingson woman, danxplore, mosphy4, klassd, 22general,larride, bodylicious, stevie55, benflash, enrypech, tejiri44, C1212, jobseeker, cybersecfreak, swargu, realisticj, greatken, sandieeee, emmyteetosin, dorado, darella, geektrovert, sibabe thespark, souljar etc, special mention to Xfire, and my humble self, number5.

Prior to a 9days interview experience conducted at the Nnpc towers, central business district abuja, Intelligent men and women displayed professionalism and decorum as we all prepared towards the experience of a life time. Its worthy to note that it was at this junction that a certain mosaic4gooners ex mckinsey, way ahead of the world dude came into limelight. He offered to share a room with anyone interested at sheraton hotels and towers just a few minuites drive from central area, abuja. It remains unknown if anyone took his offer, but that young man would go a long way to make ripples and leave his marks on the sands of time in this thread.

Interview came and went and the AOLMAW was born, chasteguy with the memes, teaser4 with the cut edge pidgin, jarus with overcomposure, sempumping with the pumping sauce, beeam with the agbero mentality, and ehmmmm, mosgoon with LOMS

It was also at this point were LOMS was making air waves that burnt sauces, zobo and checking of something was introduced. The aforementioned, are the non-negligible signature of the members of the association of local men and women.

At some point, other notable persons joined the race and added soured sauce (ladyjane, ladyheaven, ademmy, cliffwood, tonyhopkins, easymoneysniper, timilehinpeter, etc)

The access bank theory propounded by larride and the one percent theory by flowolf09 remains the official theory of this great association till date though the journey has been characterized by notable players jumping ship, most notably from the Access bank theory ship (popularly known as ABT) players like beeam, darella, chasteguy, swargu, flow09, bobowaje, sempumpingson, enireqx, cocococo and its founder, larride.. The impact of the ABT theory was most felt at the time when a certain anyam 'king in the north' terhemba ran rampage and did great havoc among the members of the association. Special mention in that regard, to cocococo, a brother who was massively hit by king anyams sniper and he 'lost all his ability to can'.

Massive shots by king anyam, and his two foot soldiers, farouk freedom and lazarus maikalu ensured that even someone as rigid as jarus confessed that its not an easy life for a local man trying to can.

We can't forget the bromance that broke out between members of the association in the course of the run of time. Notably experienced were between jiang and pumpingson, chasteguy and ladyjane, etc

Brethren, ladies and mentlegen, what is left of the recruitment is undoubtedly a few days but the periods that spanned from inception till date is one wich will never be forgotten by the members of this prestigious thread, NNPC HQ, Nairaland community and the Ghost readers.

If you're years into the future reading this post, no matter were the eagle landed, be very well assured that we made a name for ourselves, we carved a niche, we made our prints in the sands of our time, and against all odds, every single member of this prestigious association went on to have a wonderful and successful career.

At this junction, i would crave our indulgence to observe a minuite silence to one of our senior brother/colleague who lost his life in the course of the run of time (NNPC HR STAFF WHO DIED 3rd September 2019, MR DEWARI AYE) A minuite silence.


Special mention to the official dreamer of the association, all local men and women i failed to mention, all the ghost readers, and all who had to put up with our attitudes, banter and jokes whilist looking for ONLY serious info. This post would not be complete if i dont chip in my official meme (find attached)

Anyway I am hearing that there is an awards segment coming up later tonight. I totally have no doubts about the capacity of the organizers to discharge their duties fairly. I want to believe the list they had and read out at the amphitheater, contained names of all the applicants slated for that day without regards to timing. Cos the same thing happened when I was called to my panel. I discovered they had called our names repeatedly while undergoing document verification and immediately you indicate your presence, the HR guy will tick your name and move on.
Also, I was slated for 9am, but got interviewed around 2:04pm with about 3 guys left.
There were no new applicants for other times because we that were for 9am went there to meet 7am guys taking their turns and we had to wait patiently till it got to ours, one after the other.
So I believe the names were read out irrespective of time slots, reason why so many names (possibly 9am, 12:30pm guys) were unanswered and apparently absent, especially to those who were at the amphitheater by 7am.

The list was grouped based on time. I was the first 1:30pm and last person on the list, which ranged from 7am to 1:30pm. I interviewed before most 12noon guys in my panel cos I did my documentation quite earlier. I was even the first 1:30 to be called out from the amphitheatre while some 9 and 12noon guys were still sitting in the amphitheatre.

Also asked about clean development mechanisms. I was hearing it for the first time too.
I never wanted to stay mute or accept the fact that I was clueless, so I went straight to methods for pollution control, ways to remediate land pollutions n other forms of pollution as a result of oil spillage chipped in Bioremediation thinking that it will be important as a biochemist and other different ways of pollution control. I don't know whether the panel chairman really heard what I was saying because he was writing through out my interview session. He only pause for a while and ask if I am done, I was later asked 2 situational questions and 1 safety question which I answered more convincingly than the first question. They had interest in my fictitious but convincing story. Finally they told me if I had a question for them. I asked them how can they assess my interview performance. They all busted into laughter and the chairman for the first time had interest in what I was saying and said "okay I can say you are confident". I thanked them and left.

Definitely, seeing that this years recruitment is fast tracked, we would be called for the 3 weeks training in August. And further training in September.

My question is this. You said the 9 months training is paid daily and accumulated till the end of the 9 month. Does it mean each successful candidate will have to cater for themselves during the cause of the training period after which they will be reimbursed? Or we will we be paid on a daily basis?

My last question. Is it possible for someone to be sent back home during the cause of the 9 months training? And is it after the 9 months training they will pay the upfront?

Pls don't mind my inquisitiveness, just to prepare body and mind well for the task ahead.

Yes, it is different. Training allowance is per day, separate from the normal salary.

The training allowance was accumulated and paid after the 9 months training programme.

Please, who's the 6th member of the 6-man panel. Is it the person that'll usher you into the interview room or the one that will scrutinize your credentials.
Just curious because there were only 5 persons behind the table, as for my panel.

Hmmm.... Nothing at all from the scope of the revealed questions entered my own interview session. Nothing from my CV.

I was asked to discuss in detail everything I knew about Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, carbon footprints, greenhouse gases and their effect. Very skewed and off-key from expectations.

Did my interview today though. I was interviewed by panel 43 and they seemed quite tough. They asked me questions from my cv but it just seemed from their reaction I wasn't saying what they wanted. Did my IT with DPR and my roles where basically supervision operation, they asked me how I related it to the terminals I found myself. I tried answering but they cut in again. At last they were telling me didn't I see installations and maintainance while working. I said yes, but those weren't part of my job assignment. Just had to agree with them.

They asked about difficult situation I faced at work and how I solved it. What the heck. Can't remember any. Just feel some of this questions aren't really necessary. I tried answering, but they said my answer was about resolving conflict. I was just tired. They said I should relate it to my school project. Can't really remember any tangible difficulty. Na by force to encounter difficulties?

Safety question was relatively ok. About safety in driving. Gave them the once I could remember. They were still expecting more. I couldn't remember any in time again. They help me with some other important ones that I had to agree with.

They told me they know am good, but I should try and be articulated. From onset per say, they never gave me that comfort to strive. They looked tired. Some were even sleeping. They ask question and sleep off.

But I thank God for everything. It happens to be my first ever interview experience after my service. I believe God who brought me this far won't let me down. So many people are looking unto me, praying for my success.


Wish us all success. You may not be the best, but the grace of God is all you need to be the difference and that is all I'm keying into.
