This isn't true except the FG will introduce subsidy on crude oil to the refineries.

If the crude is supplied at market price, the difference due to importation will not be more than ₦‎50-70 naira
Even with this, this same IPMAN will still look for ways to rip off the people so long they form part of the value chain. Those guys are economic saboteurs.

Government doesn't "Grab" lands of owners arbitrarily. You either have the right papers or not.

If his papers are complete, Great! Otherwise, Naija lawyers go milk you to the last kobo.

Also, winning the case in court is one thing, respecting court judgement is another.

For example, the case between Magodo landlords and Lagos state government has been on for over 40 years. The supreme Court even adjudged in their favour two years ago, till now ZILCH.

So tell me, what's the nexus between having difficulty in foreign accent and the salary as well as the job being offered?

You must have forgotten about smarter readers, please be more smart when next you want to create a thread with hidden intent
You don't have to feel inferior. Just pray and God go do your own.

BTW, it's not for me. It is for a friend and he is reading all the comments as well.

I mentioned his current pay not to brag but, so people can advise him based on what he stands to lose while trying to get a job that he probably isn't 100% suited for.

Working is Audit is much different from Business Development where your communication skills has to be top notch especially when speaking with Native English speakers.

To ace interviews and case studies is one thing, to present/sell to Directors of various multinationals is another thing.

Let him speak so slow and always be straight to the point. We have more Mexicans and other Natives working in the States too and we all communicate with each other on our day to day activities. What I've learnt is that they respect the way we speaks our English and yes, they believes that we have the best English than they do. My co-workers, leads and managers here tells me that time without numbers, my wife says that too cos she knows that they don't speak complete English as we in West African does. So develop a courage in you to always say things as it is from your heart, don't try forming an accent you can't speak then you're good to go.
Thanks a lot.

He is just overthinking it which is normal.
I work remotely for a UK firm and my colleagues and bosses all have different accents. I have a Ukrainian colleague that can't even speak well but he delivers. To understand him, you have to add his short sentences like that of a 4yrs old child.

At first it was a struggle for me. They have this sense of humour that you need a lot of discernment to pick. So I would be confused if it is a question or a joke. Followed by an awkward silence and a more awkward laugh. With time I got better. I have meetings with many European clients and I speak slowly and listen very attentively. They know to take it slow. When I am confused, I say something like. "IF I GET YOU CLEARLY, YOU WANT ME TO DEDUCT XYZ FROM ABC?" Sometimes I ask them to type it. Or we go the extra miles (e.g) WORLD as in WORLDWIDE. J for JULIANNA. grin grin

Ask questions and they will answer. Their own is that you give RESULTS.
Colleagues at work I get. Those aren't much. About 40 in all and dispersed across different time zones.

Don't forget I said he will be dealing with customers as well.

A friend just got an international remote job but he is worried about communication with Native English speakers.

He aced the 4 stage interviews and has been given an offer. The pay is good considering the current exchange rate. He was offered $42,000 per annum.

Presently, he works with an audit firm and makes N1.9M NET monthly plus other side businesses.

The role was strictly for Inbound Pre-Qualification and Sales when he applied but at the final stage of the interview, adjustment was made in the JD which includes outbound sales.

Please note he understands and speaks English fluently but he has issues with thick American accents. The position is a Business Development role and it involves conversing extensively with Americans.

Any advise for him?

Could it have been resolved that easily?

Conspiracy theorists who are still owing Mama Kebiratu for the indomie she sold to them on credit will sit in their kiosk-like bedrooms and use borrowed airtime to say what they do not know about what they should really know about.

Inspite of the frenzy, common sense should nurture you not to believe certain things.

I see people rejoicing and I wonder how this news will affect the life of Mama Simbiatu in Obajana whose orifice needs to be tended to.

For those that don't believe me, be patient and watch LP come a distant third in Edo South during the Governorship elections next year.
You need to see how I carried Obi for head before the elections. For me, it was about voting the best man.

Unfortunately for Non-Igbo liberal folks like me, it was more of a tribal contest for the vast majority of these guys.

They should learn to separate Politics from ethnic dick measuring contest.
