Good evening CardinalJossy, how much does a 2 bedroom apartment go for? And where is this estate located in Calabar? |
Dear OP, keep calm, take a deep breath, lose the anger, now re-read the several responses on your post and keep an open mind. You just might learn a thing or two about pricing. By the way, have you ever heard of the term "level of effort"?. Because you earned mega bucks working on a foreign firm's cars doesn't mean every foreign firm squanders resources that way. The organization I work for leases cars for humanitarian purposes, we pay workmanship costs that are determined by market forces (procurement process). |
Kilotango:Some good folks here have already reiterated the fact that you need to do a PPI before purchasing any used car, most especially Naija used. I'll advise you use 20-50k from your proposed budget to get a proper mechanic , look at as many options as possible - dont limit your search at all, this is your first car you can't afford to be swindled. Pay an experienced mechanic well, and watch him work wonders. Cheers bro |
Did 180 km (albeit briefly) in my 02 Mercedes Benz Clk 230 Kompressor Coupe a couple years back, with the A.C on and Fela's Zombie on repeat. Merc never flinched at all. Tried 140-145 km in my dad's Tundra yesterday on the Ikom-Calabar highway with the A.C on and the beast over heated. I don dey put blame on am say him no dey service him car well, no be me go carry this matter for head at all. The coolant wasn't circulated as needed, the water pump was faulty. We performed a cooling system flush (drained and flushed the radiator)- anyway engine is still intact, but radiator is leaking, heard this morning he ordered a new one for almost 40k and has put a restraining order on his cars. |
kaymaxsoluxions:I like this statement. |
purplekayc:My brother game wer dem release last week, na it u expect person to don buy/download, play am finish by now? I love the series, and will definitely get the game - when the price is right. Cheers |
makavele: To each according to his own bro |
HeavenlyBang:Yes, in the end that's what it'll amount to (you know you have to look at several Nigerian used vehicles before settling for one, in that case the costs of a mechanic traveling to inspect your car, and you know feeding costs as well as accommodation are borne by you the buyer via the PPI). For example i bought my 08 Peugeot 307 from Bauchi 950,000 last year December (inclusive of PPI fee of 55k, dude gave emailed me a receipt sef. (sold it for 650k a month ago) - I've never met the chap who bought it for me, a former colleague of mine who now works for an NGO there directed me to the mechanic. He checked a couple 307's, some 406's and even a 407 before i finally settled on that 307. I'm an accountant and i charge time for my services, believe me when i say he was dirt cheap for the services he provided me.

oluwaseunla:This is the most important aspect of buying a car. But most Nigerians aren't prepared to pay a qualified automobile technician for an inspection |
makavele:My brother I am not bragging but I can hold my own financially. Let's not measure the size of our d**ks on a faceless forum. I don't use a car for more than a year and resale value isn't a thing for me. |
TPound:Naija used wer we never abuse o! I spend between 5-10% of the total amount i buy a car on PPI |
TPound:Cheers. My old boy told me in explicit terms never to go with the hype for direct tokunbo vehicles. His reasoning is simple, the probability of finding a Nigerian used vehicle that has not been abused can be increased exponentially by paying a competent and trustworthy chap to carry out a PPI. Since 2013, I've gone through an 03 Maxima 3.5 GLE, an 08 307 Peugeot (my best of the bunch), 02 Mercedes Benz Clk 230 Kompressor Coupe, and an 07 DC (most boring of the bunch). |
TPound:Got my former car, an 07 DC (Nigerian used) for 1,050,000 some fifteen months ago. So what is the current market rate for an 09/10 Evil Spirit? |

Boxzyy24:I normally mind my business, but not today! Open your own thread. |
Dukeolumidemans:What can I say old school men love their Peugeots. I prefer the beauty of the Maxima, although I must admit there's always that fear that I could go to work or a function with my car and return with a taxi. ![]() |
Arrow144:That Peugeot 508 is equipped with a 1.6 litre I4 turbo engine. My old boy drives one. Maintenance is a bit pricey but he swears on his life that, the 1.6l engine will dust most V6 engines. |
ladyjblinks:Thank you |
My brother correct that 2018 typo, just vex comot at least one decade from that year before the benz crew turn up for you. And where the remaining pictures? gist2000: |
