The insult, bruh. angry

Bugatti makes the greatest cars on this planet, no one can tell me otherwise. Wtf, who else has the guts to put an 8.0L W16 quad-turbo engine in a car? And the interior of the car is perfectly sculpted.

Great to hear ma’am, thank you very much. Now the small detail of getting it down to Calabar. Also, do you by chance happen to know what this symbol beneath the park indicator mean? Was flashing vigorously this morning on My Tacoma - I am fairly certain I don’t have a scanner that can point me in the right direction.

What do I know eh?

I guess it can enter into any of those sides.
I pulled it out and I'm not sure which of those two ports it would enter plus I have to use hand to feel it cos it can't be seen

Yep, looks dirty to my untrained eyes. Here’s what to do in no particular order; get a soft brush, disconnect the car’s battery, use methylated spirit (leaves no residue), besides I don’t like using petrol except as a degreaser. Also, you can be rest assured that there will be no moisture left on the connectors nor the insulated wires themselves. Reconnect wheel speed sensors, and obviously the Car’s battery. Drive around for a while, if the car’s computer triggers the malfunctions within 15-30 mins after your drive, then get original hella or bosch replacement parts.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I can't even remember the code precisely again. I'll need to ask the guy again and probably redo it. But what do you mean by the wiring harness sir.

There’s a connector for the speed sensor to plug into. Get that checked first, the location makes it very easy for dirt and other particles to make a home there.

Hello bosses. Please I need wheel speed sensor for front right side of Benz S430. Is there any trusted seller and can it be sent to Abk.

Scan and post the exact codes. Could be the wiring harness. Oh, If it’s actually the WSS that has seen better days then for the Love of God don’t buy toks or any Tibao nonsense. In short contact radauto.works, If she can’t get you OEM, the STAR clone will do. I am fairly certain this particular Chinese knock-off has better QC than her peers.

Good morning bro, it's been a while. Great to hear you've made so much progress on that car's repair. Like someone else has stated above, let your mechanic check the gear selector - the mechanical fault is very obvious. Just ran a quick Google search and found this excerpt:

"There will be no warning lights when the gear selector lever fails but there will be fault codes stored, scanning the vehicle with diagnostic tools will reveal these as selector lever position detection failed and CAN signal selector lever position. Common fault codes:
P1856 – Selector Lever Position Detection Failed
P240C – CAN Signal Selector Lever Position N15/5 Is Not Plausible"

For a 1998 naija used MB? Why is he topping up exactly? And what oil has the former owner been using - original or fake STAR? The truth is you know exactly the proper advise to give but just like the Nigerian government you'd rather violence takes its toll on his finances first.
Car Talk / Re: MITSUBISHI MONTERO SPORT: IS IT A GOOD BUY? by Eddee(m): 9:41pm On Oct 20, 2020
joa2013:
I needed a good SUV for use in a very rough terrain and for my farm works. I actually crave for old model 4runner but my budget isn't measuring up. So a colleague helped me to get a 1999 Mitsubishi Montero for a price of 650k. I consider the price low because everything is working perfectly with only fuel pump and one hob to change in front. Good tyres, AC, body, interior, suspensions etc.
I'm skeptical because I hardly see people driving the car around in Akure though my mechanic told me its a good car and that he handles it for some customers.
Please, what are the real issues with this car? Why are people not really using it.
The car is not as new as the one in the picture but close to it and same colour.

A hub and a fuel pump are normal wear and tear items. The Montero is a durable workhorse. Imho, price is fair for the MY in question. Look for an independent expert to give you a true position of the engine (any car that's driven in Nigeria must suffer some form of abuse directly or Indirectly), the Transmission on those cars will literally go on forever but the engines won't. And they can be pricey.

Car Talk / Re: MY MERCEDES BENZ PLATE NUMBER ISSUE. by Eddee(m): 3:42pm On Oct 18, 2020
damidre:
The license plate would have been registered in his name and to the current car. He would need to pay almost 50k to transfer it to another car while you would need about 42k to register afresh. He might not be aware of this, so you both need to have the discussion. Is there anything special about the number plate that would make him prefer to incur a higher amount? It goes beyond just detaching the number plate, there is a process that updates the records which takes about 3 weeks and costs as high as 50k.

Wrong, I moved plates from my old car (A benz) to another this year. Paid 18k in total (inclusive of everything). Okay, I had to add "small thing" later to collect proof of ownership because of delays due to COVID-19. The plates belong to the former owner, let them settle amicably.

N.B: paid 40k for new Abuja plates for the same Benz

Truth be told, reading that again, it doesn't sound like OP is ready to own any of these cars. I'd be surprised if there are up to 300 current-gen Camaros across Nigeria. While the Challenger has been in production for a long time now, parts actually have changed along the line--as my boss, Edd.ee, will tell you.

I was at the verge of buying a Cadillac ATS two months ago, which is essentially a sedan version of the current Camaro. After market survey, I promptly ditched the idea. Parts no dey.

Senior man, anybody that can afford an almost current gen Camaro/Challenger won't have problems with parts availability - as long as it's not a daily driver. Radautoworks go sort am out. Personally, I'm leaning away from Sedans. Next year na farming season so it's a truck I'll be in the market for. Run that ATS abeg make I see whether boys go reason am, it's a proper all American muscle for me.

Thanks for the insight. What I've discovered since moving back is that the average Nigerian business doesn't understand the power of customer loyalty. The goal is to make a killing off each customer at all costs that's why your bolded. That's why it's been so hard for us to find franchisees. The philosophy is very different. And we expect franchisees to abide by it.

Which reminds me..

I wish it could but it won't. It's hard to find a business that has as good as ROI as this in Nigeria but it requires an active, honest, attentive owner undecided

Herein lies the challenge. For example the stealerships here are just rebranded kazeems. I remember my ordeal at the hands of Mandilas, Calabar for an ordinary Lexus IS. I doubt with that kind of attitudinal disposition towards effective repairs they will break-even without having to rely on sharp practices.

radautoworks:

Thanks for the insight.. is have never thought of Uyo. We are thinking 2 more locations in Lagos State, one each in Ibadan, Abuja, PH, Enugu and the rest up in the air.

Abuja is a given. Lovely place with less tax intrusions as Lagos, and actual people who can pay to fix their cars properly. P.H is also up there, plenty servicing firms that can be pre-qualified for long term framework agreements in respect to their vehicles repairs and maintenance. Enugu has a lot of dealerships already. Don't know much about Ibadan, been there once. Oron-Ikot Ekpene-Eket all have lots of millennial millionaires courtesy of Oil drilling and servicing firms too who will always converge in Uyo. It's a very small and linear state, which means one dealership in Uyo is within an hour reach of most of your customers.

Are there that many cars in Calabar or uyo to sustain or give a return on investments?
pH looks ripe to me for such. Very few of such workshops exist in pH. There are companies who would sign up immediately with their fleet of cars if the franchise and link to original spare parts is flaunted. I'd advice Port Harcourt.

Very valid points chief. After P.H, Uyo has my money - not even Calabar apart from the sentimental attachment. Enugu won't do badly either (they have dealerships ranging from Mercedes to Kia), but Uyo shows promise. Just like Calabar they have some stealerships scattered here and there but Uyo has the top mulla.

Very soon we might just take on that offer in PHC, we are working on something

We wasted a ton shit of money on a club last year (haven't still recovered from that financial loss). I'll make a case for Calabar and Uyo (leaning heavily towards the latter), assuming the cost for franchising falls between 10m - 15m? Not even looked at equity and or working capital? Wahala dey!
