Abujaexpress: My brother, my Toyota Corolla car AC blows hot within 3 months of filling AC gas in it. An AC technician once worked on it when I started having the issue. He changed the stuff inside the condenser and filled the gas. After a while, I started perceiving foul smell coming from the car and the AC was not cooling properly. Since then I have refused to work on the AC again. I only give the car to the technicians to fill the gas. After filling, it may work cool for like 2 to 3 months and then starts blowing hot.
What do I do?
NB. I need the refrigerant for the said car, pls. Am in Abuja
Hi, if you still have this problem - Gazzuzz helped me with remote diagnosis when I had this same issue. Contact him, get the stop leak refrigerant and a replacement evaporator unit. While you are it, I will suggest you change the expansion valve too.
9icetoo: Nice. That's a thorough job man. Your painter dey try.
I learnt a trick from my father. If you want a good job, take them away from the workshop (They will charge a hefty fee to discourage home service but in my view its fair and I get to keep an eye on them. I cant remember the last time I drove into a workshop for even major repairs. Got these chaps to change an evaporator at home. Was Initially told I needed to bring in the vehicle over the weekend, they swore they needed at least two days for the job, guess what - they did it in 5 hours and 30 mins at home - including the vacuuming and refilling. You get to pay extra for home service but, you will see efficiency and effectiveness. These guys dont play around when they are away from their workshops.
9icetoo: Does your tacoma have a lockable differential (4L or 4H) as is obtainable in a hilux? If so disengage it and see if it continues flashing.
Yep cheif, it is an 07 TRD Sport so it does have a locking rear differential. Light just went on its own, hasn’t come back since then. I suspect it has a lot to do with the body work done on it. Car got a new color change recently and you know how we do these things - in the process of patching one or two things, one or two things fit break unintentionally. - Thanks for coming through
radautoworks: Couple of units in stock actually and some other options including Schrader we can bring in. Search part numbers SE10004A and SE57773. Both in stock and both pre-programmed. To see other options, enter your car, go to Catalog and enter "tpms" search bar then select Sensor from the options that come up.
No need to go throught that long route ma. Please tell me which one you’d recommend between the both, so that I can quickly mail your folks. They can even add it with the gas cap sef. Also I just noticed I missed their last mail confirming the availability of a certain weight i needed, initial mail suggested they’ve run out of stock. I’d love to confirm it is still “oiltober” - did I coin that well?
Good morning aunty Rad, checked the parts request catalog online and couldn’t find this: 433hz TPM sensors. Any help will be greatly appreciated cc: piyke
Kaybaba5: How did u get 81km. And my challenge I want to know if the car dey swallow fuel too much. Pls na i4 camry 2000, no ac
Kaybaba5: Before I bought the fuel my odometer was 187186 reserved I noted it I bought 5000 naira fuel I used for 14 days I checked my odometer when it reached reserve it was 187267
banky3w: What I think he needs is his mpg which is around 10.3mpg if I’m correct
Yes o. That’s horrible mileage for even a full sized utility truck. Unless there was massive idling with his air conditioning in full blast (the days are hot ) somewhere in there, and he conveniently forgot to mention it, this is plausible because he covered very short distances in 14 days.

Forgive me for I dont understand your question at all, but i will still chip in my solicited comment anyway. Assuming a litre of fuel is #159. You bought approximately 31.5 litres of fuel and used it for 2 weeks? Congrats on that anyway! The bone of contention now is that you covered only 81 kms - i will be back to provide insight when I fully understand your challenge.
9icetoo: Just helping out my fellow man in case Dem don yarn am otherwise for beer parlour. You know all those " Emeka buy 2018 rx350 for cotonou for 7 million" gist. After beer don enter belle well.
