MrEgghead: When you register for Post Utme, you'll be able to download the soft copy from your kofa page. You can get the hard copy in the School. Please does this also apply for DE. I mean will DE past questions be available for download on the kofa page after registration? |

Hello guys.
Please I need info about flying with Turkish airlines. I am aware they usually have stopovers at Instabul and Singapore or honkong..my question is; based on your experience (for those who have been flown to Australia by the airline), was a Turkish or Singapore Visa required at any of the stopover airports?
Please someone should help me with this info as quickly as possible cos it's very urgent.
Thanks in advance. |

Good afternoon guys
Please this goes to anyone who has flown to Australia via Turkish airlines.
Which routes did your flight take?
Was any other form of Visa apart from the Australian Visa required before boarding at any of the airports including Lagos airport?
I will really appreciate quick responses and this is very urgent. Thanks in advance. |

bligs: A lot of people get in without been asked about polio vaccine at the point of entry, me inclusive but applications from certain countries like Nigeria will not be granted without a polio vaccine. Thanks a lot for this response. I already got my Visa grant although I didn't use the yellow card. I did my medicals at Fatayi Williams clinic where I got an oral polio vaccination and was given a code which they asked me to send via email to Australia immigration. My thought was that this should stand in for the yellow card. Hence, I do not need to present the yellow card at the Point of entry. |

akinke: If you submitted your application without it, they will probably demand it from you later, if they are patient enough. The best thing is to go and do it and attach it to your application as soon as possible while it is being assessed. I added my English test a bit later, when we decided I better do it. You have the opportunity to add further documents even after application.
Yes, it will be demanded at the Australia's port of entry, they won't let you in WITHOUT IT. Thanks bro. I really appreciate your response/advise. |

Joan011: Let me add to what solitin40 said, it's best you take pictures of the house from all angles to avoid whatever problems that might crop up when you want to leave as some landlords can say you damaged some parts of the house when you didn't those pictures can come in handy. Thanks Joan011. Congratulations on your Visa grant. |

Solitin40: A rental bond is a security deposit paid at the start of the tenancy.
If the property manager/owner takes a bond, they must give the tenant a receipt and lodge it with the RTA within 10 days. It is an offence not to do so.
A rental bond is lodged with the RTA online, or by post, using a Bond lodgement (Form 2).
The bond is paid back to the tenant when the property is vacated, provided no money is owed for rent, damages or other costs. Thanks a bunch bro for this exposition. I'm grateful. |

Questions keep popping into my head as the date of my arrival in Australia gets closer. I'm feeling unprepared in terms of being armed with enough information.
I checked the accommodation link that WestAfrican sent. I kept on seeing the term "Bond". I wonder what that means.
Also, for someone who is going to be schooling in Wollongong but intends to stay and work in Sydney, which part of Sydney should such a person rent an apartment so as to ensure more proximity to Wollongong.
Again based on experience, what kind of accommodation would you advise those of us who are coming over to arrange for as students and what type should we avoid? We need your opinions on this our senior brothers and sisters.
Are there any other inherent procedural challenges with securing accommodation that we need to be aware of especially as new comers and how do we overcome them if any? |

WestAfrican: What would you like to know about Aus? It's a beautiful country with lots of opportunities around you. You just have to identify them and cease those opportunities.
Sometimes it can be challenging for new ones but as time ticks bye, you find you feet, things starts to come together.
I will elaborate on specific inquiries. Thanks so much for your response. It is highly appreciated. I have some specific questions to ask: 1. How much would you advise one to come with to Australia in order to cater for expenses for the first few months before getting a job. (Note the person intends to lead a very humble life style in terms of spending) 2. What is the probability of getting a job within the first month of arriving in Australia (Blue collar jobs) and what type of blue collar jobs pay best 3. What are the things one needs to know and do in order to quickly secure a job? 4. Is there anything pertinent you think one should do here in Nigeria before coming to Australia as a student in order to get off to a not to difficult start on arrival?(E.g like learning a skill, learning to drive e.t.c) I look forward to you responses. Thanks a bunch... |

lawalogou: Hello everyone,
Please i need Clarification.
I have a BSc in Computer science ( 3rd class). OND in computer science. Worked for 5 years as social worker.
I want to apply to Australia school to study Msc Social work or graduate diploma social work but i have different information from agents.
My question is: 1. Are there schools that will give me admission to study ms social work or graduate diploma social work considering i have Bsc computer science ( 3rd class)?
2. What are my chances with visa processing? Because first degree is computer science and intend to study social work.
3. Do i need to do a 2 year program , because i only have tution for one year. I don't mind working but how possible is it to pay tution fee with part time job?
Affordable school recommendations will be good.
Thank you all. 1. You should check different Australian school portals to get this info. You'll find some schools whose admission requirements you meet. 2. This depends on how well you write your SOP in terms of stating the reason for deviation from your first degree. 3. Doing a two year program is not compulsory. However, doing less than a 2 year program means you won't be eligible to apply for an extra two years visa to work and gain experience after completing your program. |

Random200: Good morning everyone. Please I was denied study visa in march based on gte and I didn't reapply, I'm yet to even request for my refund from the school. However, yesterday an agent from IOM Ikeja came to my place of work with a letter dated 22nd May, 2019 with the subject "verification of study leave approval letter" met the managing director and asked her to verify my position in the company. The agent also attached the study leave approval letter I submitted for my visa application and that the MD will have to answer a few question with company letter headed paper. My question is- is this normal? What does this mean? Are they reviewing my documents again? Has anyone else experienced this?
Please help. Thank you P. S- the company is a family owned, I did not use an agent for my application, the only rship I had with Iom was for medicals and it was in abuja. Pss-- the letter said " The IOM on behalf of the Australian High Commission present their compliments to the MD and would like to verify the authenticity of the study leave approval of....... Applicant" yes i have experienced this too. Although your case is slightly different from mine since a decision had already been made concerning your Visa application before the arrival of the letter from Iom. What was/were the specific reasons given for your denial on the Visa refusal letter? |

GoodMemory: Australian Experience
One of the biggest challenges new immigrants will face while trying to secure their first job in Australia is the issue of Australian work experience. This one thing has forced many people to abandon their chosen profession for the so-called survival jobs. Others have given up and forced to relocate back to wherever they came from. Can you really blame them? Savings are getting depleted, bills are there pilling up in a strange land with no family or real friends to fall back on. What do you do? It can be quite frustrating as it is scary. It is worse if you do not come from a wealthy background. Even if you did, you do not want to perpetually rely on them. If you manage to get someone to send N250,000 from Nigeria, that is just a paltry $1000. It cannot even pay your monthly rent! Who will give you N250k in present day Nigeria? So, if it is your intention to migrate to Australia, you really need to come up with a plan and a strategy that will outlive the period of joblessness. Thank you so much for this write-up. Very enlightening, I must confess. My question is this; what kind of jobs should someone studying and unable to work full-time target? Are there additional strategies or approaches an international student should employ in order to land theses jobs? |

Got in here last week of june, was picked by Jamson and Iceberg. May I mention that these guys have been really kind and wonderful. I stayed in the second room in jamson's place and did a forklift course within my first week of arrival and got a job after a week of arrival which was good to pay bills and savings. thanks for this info bro. Please I'd like to learn more about this forklift job. 1. Is it possible for an international student to get this job 2. What does the job entails 3. Apart from course, are there any other things required to get the job 4. Lastly, can give more details about your experience on the job? You said something about hating the job as time went by. What was the reason for this? |
