Thank you very much for your response.......
To your questions.
Firstly, I'm very single not even in any relationship or whatsoever and no kids.
Secondly, this is my first time of attempting to travel out of the country.
Thirdly, i have no tangible properties.
Fourthly, I do not understand what you mean by economic and social ties. Please, enlighten me.
To be honest with you my intention is to migrate, that's why I'm here to consult you gurus.
Fifthly, on the 6 months application, I also need your honest guidance. I wanted to choose six months because I thought that's the minimum period one can apply for.
Please help a brother.
Waiting for you response.
Your response indicate that you are trying to mislead the entry clearance officer by trying to get into the UK with a visit visa that is not valid for your intention.

If you are looking to migrate abroad, why not look into applying LEGALLY through a highly skilled migrant program in Canada which is currently accepting many skilled migrant.

Even if you get a UK visit visa for 6 month (very unlikely based on what you stated) and you decide to stay back in the UK, you will become an illegal immigrant and you'll be committing an offence.

You won't be able to get a job as no one will employ you without a valid working visa. And in case you even get a job (under g) without a visa, you are committing an offence and may be jailed or deported.

Don't do what you intend to do! I repeat...don't do it!

I have one more question. If the address on my bank statement is from my previous house address and is different from my current address (which i filled in the application form), do i need to state/clarify this in the additional information when filling the application?

Hello my people in the house.I need your advice. My dad is British citizen. I’m in my early 20s living a nigeria. Is it possible for me to get a settlement visa easily, through his link? Thanks
If you are a person who was born before July 1, 2006 and:

Had your parents been married you would have automatically become a British citizen under the British Nationality Act of 1981;
Had your parents been married, you would currently have had an entitlement to registration under the provisions of the British Nationality Act of 1981;

As of April 6, 2015, if you do not have British citizenship but your father was a British citizen, your parents never married, and you were born before July 1, 2006, you will now have the possibility of acquiring British citizenship. Before July 1, 2006, if your father was a British citizen but your parents never married, you could not obtain British citizenship through your father. As of July 1, 2006 the law was modified to allow those born to a British father and with parents that had never married, to acquire British citizenship through their father

1. You don't need to bother yourself about rent receipts the most important thing is to submit all evidence of money sent to they monthly or yearly and explain that in the form.

2, Yes that is ok,
Thanks very much justwise. I was thinking of putting the rent receipts to show that they have ties at home. I checked online on how to prove ties back to home country and the list includes:

1. Proof of residence
2. Source of income e.g. from business or job
3. Investment e.g. landed property.

My dad has been refused once before and was denied because we couldn't proof "ties" to the home country despite that I provide documents to show that I am funding the entire trip (although i didn't put the monthly stipends i send to them monthly via western union as proof).

Kindly advise further. Thanks

Please kindly help...

I am inviting my mum to visit me in the UK to see our new son. She is in her 50's.and she has visited once before about 7 years ago.

She is a house wife but I send her monthly stipends 50k monthly and my dad is a retired business man (in his early 70's) (who I send monthly stipends to as well with documentation to proof this)

I am sponsoring the entire trip and will provide the following:

1. My mortgage statement,
2. bank account showing enough funds for the trip,
3. Invitation letter
4. payslip from my job
5. Document showing monthly stipend transfer (western union)

There are two issues that I need clarification on:

1. They live in a rented apartment for now which I pay for yearly (I have proof to show transfer of funds to pay rent for last year 2017)

However, the Landlord (who is an auto-mechanic) uses receipts of his autobusiness to write a rent receipt for the past two years for their rent.

Is it suitable for me to include these exact rent receipts (past two years) in their application with a letter from the landlord stating that he use his auto-shop business receipt to show that he collect payments?

I say this as this is not an official rent receipt as he is a private landlord. unfortunately, they are not able to locate the original rent agreement from ages ago.

Previous payment for rent from other years except last two years has been done in cash in hand as the landlord is cordial with my parents.

2. Also, how can I prove that my mum have family ties. is it sufficient for my dad to write a letter giving permission for my mum to travel (with a photocopy of his passport data page) alongside with their bank statements showing funds i send to them monthly?

Note: No, they don't have any pension documents or salary income from other official sources apart from the ones i send to them monthly and they can provide bank statement showing that they receive this stipends from me monthly.

Do kindly advise on this please. thanks.

Type hospitals in Maryland in the search button here. You will find names of different hospitals in the M.D. area that readers here have used. I posted here a list of hospitals in Maryland and their prices about two years ago. If you search here, I'm sure you will still come across the file. I no longer have the list on my phone.

So when your child grows up and start working he/she will start paying income tax to two govt? British and American govt..

Why would a British citizen need an American passport or travel to US to give birth when its free in the UK? Even if you don't pay NI or don't work at all NHS services is still free.
When My Child grows up, he or she will be entitled to foreign earned income exclusion. You should read up: https://brighttax.com/blog/the-foreign-earned-income-exclusion-everything-you-need-to-know

You made it sound like....i shouldn't be ambitious to give birth in the USA because my child automatically will have a UK passport.

It's my choice to go give birth in the USA even when I can get the same service in the UK for free. Same way it's anybody's choice to decide to leave Nigeria to give birth in the USA. My choice does not need to make sense to you. Na my money I go spend na!

Tell me you won't give anything to have your child have both a UK and US passport if you can...sigh!
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by edmasta01: 2:02am On Oct 28, 2017
Wow...I cant believe I sat through 4 hours reading through this entire thread to get more information about giving birth in the USA.

Now that I am done....my head is "bursting"...lol.

After waiting 7 years, I and my "madam" are expecting our first baby in January 2018 (through CS - I know this due to previous medical history) and we are looking to give birth in Maryland (that's where we have families).

We both have British Passport (which means we can visit the US from the UK for up to 3 months without applying for a Visa - Although we do need to fill out an Esta Form to notify the US Border Control We are coming).

Has anyone on this thread gone through this route before?

To be honest, I am not keen on giving birth in America (as I know the baby will get a British Citizen and the hospital fees is free in the UK as We pay national insurance for this already).

But "madam" really wants to do this, and I am happy to make it happen (I am so excited...will finally be a dad!)

I did some research myself, and found Mercy Medical Centre (who won't take wifey at 35 weeks when I called to enquire). John Hopkins Hospital is astronomical in prices and a few others I rang personally ranged in prices between $10,000 - $15,000.

Will be ringing a few others e.g. Holy cross next week Monday to get more information too...

Has anyone used any hospital in the Maryland area that is affordable? Please "help a brother".
FamilyRe: How Should I Handle Friends Requesting For Loan? by edmasta01: 6:51pm On Aug 02, 2017
Here's the best thing to do:

1. Ask yourself, how much is it that you can give to this friend/family member if they ask you to give them (not loan) without feeling the pinch.

If it's N50,000 or N70,000 etc.

2. Tell him/her....Sorry I don't have N500,000 right now. But I have N70,000 that I can loan you. If you send me your account number, I will transfer it right away.

3. Transfer (what you can afford to lose) and then forget it.

Here's what will happen....

a. Your friend will be happy that you at least gave him a little out of what he asked. Your friendship will not be ruined

If he is jealous or angry with you after doing the above, then you need a new friend.

b. He will collect the money and NEVER return that money back to you. But at least you will be happy that you only loaned what you can afford to lose.

Personal experience: A friend asked me for a N1.5 Million loan about 7 years ago. I emptied my account and gave to him. Up till now, I am yet to recover it.

Another experience: Another friend asked me for 150,000 naira about two years ago. I learnt my lesson from the previous one. I gave him N40,000 (as the money I can afford to lose) even though I had a lot more in my account.

Well...up till now, this friend is yet to give back the N40,000. He did not even mention it or say anything about it.

Trust me, the above is the ONLY way you can have peace of mind without ruining friendship. Learn from me. Be wise!
BusinessQUESTION: How To Pay Tax On A Limited Company (LTD) by edmasta01(op): 2:44pm On Mar 24, 2016
I registered a LTD for a publishing business 3 years ago. Ever since then, I kept the document without trading.

Last year 2015, I decided I was going to start business, so I approached the tax office to obtain a TIN. I know you get a grace period to register which thereafter, you have to pay penalty.

After haggling with a tax official for quite a while, I was able to obtain a TIN back in July 2015. When filling my form, I chose the 31st December as company end of the year tax year.

Anyway, I didn't do any trade last year, so there was ZERO income for the business.

Does anyone know if I need to still file for tax despite having zero income?

I plan on starting business proper and doing some trade starting the end of March, so want to put all books in place before starting. Anyone with experience on this do kindly help.

NOTE: I did check on Google, but not much information specific to this issue. Thanks

I am a writer. In the past 1 year, I have written over 100 articles for many of my personal project. I would say I am pretty good at what I do, and i get lots of results with it.

However, I am now at a point where I need to build a team and focus on other BIGGER things and hence the reason for this advert.

I am looking for 2 committed and "fluent" writers.

If I recruit you, you will work directly for me as a ghost writer. Every single Month, you will be writing 4 articles each for me. These articles will be between 600 - 1000 words. And these articles will be in the "Health & Fitness" Niche.

As a ghost writer, every article you write for me will NOT be owned by you.

This means, after you write and you get paid for the work, the article becomes solely mine and I can put any name I deem fit as the original writer.

The articles will be well researched, self explanatory, easy to read with simple English and be a "write as you speak" article that will benefit the reader/audience.

NOTE: If you do not understand "write as you speak", please use Google.

Each article you write for me will follow a specific guideline that I give you, and must not deviate from this guideline. Don't worry, this guidelines is quite simple to follow. I want someone who is willing to listen to instructions and follow simple instructions.

I'll expect each article you write to be delivered at the end of every week. You are also allowed to write all the four articles at one go and submit.

As long as you follow the guideline that I have put in place and you do an excellent job. Every "shoddy" and "rushed" article will be rejected and you will have to rewrite from scratch.

This post is for an article writer who is motivated enough to write from the heart. This is not for you if you are looking for quick cash!

QULIFICATION REQUIRED

I do not care if you have a B.sc, Masters or PH.D from OAU, UNN, Cambridge, Oxford etc.

As long as you can write a bad ass article that will make a reader nod in excitement that your article has changed their lives. Also you must be able to provide 5 articles that you have written by yourself in the past that prove how good you are.

DURATION

This contract will initially be for one month. This is to test the grounds, and to ensure that we can work together.

If I like your work, I will extend this contract as long as you continue to churn out "bad ass" articles, as I will need your service on an ongoing basis for at least 12-24 months.

WHATS THE PAY:

The pay will be N2,500 per sucessful article written. If you write 4 articles in a month, that is an income of N10,000 only.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK:

I don't care if you live in Lagos, Kebbi, Maiduguru, Afghanistan or even Sambisa Forest.

ok, that was a jokesmiley

Seriously, you can work from anywhere. This is a work at home job. You must have access to your own computer & internet that you can use to submit your work to me.

HOW TO APPLY

Send me a 100 - 250 word introductory e-mail telling me about yourself, what you do, what you've done and why you qualify for this role.

Kindly attach a minimum of 5 articles that you have written in the past for me to peruse that proves the work that you do. If your articles are already online, you can also submit the links to your articles. This is PERFECTLY acceptable.

Kindly send it to this e-mail: edmasta01@gmail.com

I will respond within 24 hours of recieving your application and let you know if you qualify or not.

NOTE: If you are reading this advert and you are just going to write your first few articles for the purpose of getting this role as a first timer, please don't bother. All articles you submit will be tested for plagiarism, so don't copy other people's work to try and get this role.

Why waste your time on a venture that is dead before you start.

Here's what you should do: Find an organisation that is doing this already, support them with your time, money etc.

Learn how they do it. in 12 months, you will know if you should start your own organisation or not.

When a customer can't tell why their car stall on slowing down and decides to ask them, that is where you realise you just wasted your money in buying the e book because the author is an intellectual thief and knows nothing about driving practically.

Really? most disgusting? The last time i checked, your teacher in school/university is an information marketer. And just in case you don't know too...your journalists are infomarketers.

So also is Leke Alder, Praise George, Chimanda Adichie, Chinua Achebe and even Fela Durotoye. If you sell "words" on paper or digitally...you are selling information.

Every industry has their own "QUACKS". And its quack infomarketers that right unrealistic words.

Whoever posted this on the front page should have common sense to write the headline properly as "Funny/Unrealist Terms used by Half Baked Info Marketers".

Information marketing is a big industry and that is what Amazon.com made his name from. Bashing it as if its illegal is completely irresponsible and a show of ignorance.

I have experienced this before. It was in Ibadan. On that day, I had 100k in my pocket. I came out of GTB and flagged down a taxi and that was how I got into it o....lol.

As soon as I jumped in, I noticed that they didn't pick up any other passenger despite the passengers shouting same route I shouted.

And as soon as I heard that same cock and bull story....they parked the car and was asking eachother how to share the money....lol. I just opened the door and said...sorry, I forgot my card in the bank.

So they drove off. As soon as I got into another car, and narrated what just happened to the taxi driver, he asked me if I noticed their no as NURTW is trying to crackdown on the people using taxis to do the 419 scam as its bad business for them.

This happened to me in 2010...lol.

Funny enough, it happened to my former staff too...lol. But coz I narrated my ordeal to her before then, she knew what to do...lol
BusinessRe: Why Is It Difficult For Debtors To Pay Back by edmasta01: 5:17pm On Jul 13, 2012
I gave myself a new policy since 2011, I shall not 'lend' nor 'borrow' anybody anymoney. Even if the person is my mother.

People are wicked! They'd borrow money from you and refuse to pay back and expect you not to ask for it.

Some will even go to church and pray that you'll forget or overwrite their debt.

I have a friend/brother who still owes me N1.15 Million since 2010. Funny enough, he never talked about it.

I am the one chasing him and he is yet to pay me a dime out of it.

I am not angry that I loan him that much, I am angry with myself for trusting people same way I trust myself.

I got my first loan from a mentor of mine about 10yrs back. It was N120,000 and I was 19yrs or so then. I made sure I paid everything back that same year.

I have never owed any body any cash without paying it back. So it bothers me when I am being owed and not paid up.

There is another guy (business friend) I loaned 250k and up till this moment never paid off.

And that is the reason for that policy.

Funny enough, my wife's friend asked her for a loan and my wife ran it past me if she could lon...I simply said 'NO'. She argued with me for ages, and I simply told her there are 1001 things we could do with the cash.

I don't give people loan. And yes, I am not planning to ask for it too.

Its a policy and its helped.
