[quote author=Rdfactor post=119205529] LoL. Paying for app fee for program is a lot. Except you don't have app fee waiver, then you can pay. There are ways to get waiver; - contact the graduate coordinator of your department. You don't have to tell him you Don't earn enough in your country to pay. Something as simple as "I write to know if the department often provide app fee waiver for prospective graduate applications" will do. They'll tell you if they can help you pay because it's the graduate schools that request for these fees. And some department often set budgets apart to pay these fees on behalf of people who can't pay. If the department say they don't have such budget, contact the graduate school. They'll direct you to register for their graduate open house or some virtual meeting like that. Once you attend on the said date, they'll waive it. And if they can't waive, then you can pay if you're sure you have necessary credentials to give yourself a chance Also, if you're a first class graduate. You can apply to the OFP program in Nigeria. I don't know if anyone knows this. OFP helps you till you get to the US. They pay your GRE, TOEFL, PASSPORT, app fee, flight ticket and all that... [quote author=UNOcrown post=116923729]Good evening, I recently got admission for spring 2023 that will be starting in January. Please, I have series of questions to clarify and shed light on the admission process. 1)For obtaining i20, the school COA is $33,000. *how many days or Month did I need to put the money in my bank account before printing out the statement of account?? 2)The Funds are available, but am skeptical about where to place it for the purpose of visa interview that will grant me higher chances. *should the money be in my account (self sponsored) OR in my parent account (parent sponsorship). 3)since the COA is $33,000, can I put more than the $33k, like say $38,000 in the preferred bank account Thanks [Most schools requires that you submit a six month statement of account that is equivalent or more than you COA. You can check with your school for their requirement. For your second question, it does not really matter whose account that money is, as long as you can defend the source of the Money, there won't be any issue at the embassy] 1 Like |

CuteBC: The minimum amount is your program's Cost of Attendance (your tuition, accommodation, health insurance cost for a whole year). You can present more than that but not lesser then the total cost. Also it must be within 3-6months period. Check with your School to know their requirements. 1 Like |

[quote author=Aliab post=115772864]I am an F2 visa holder that wants to study nursing in a community college but already had a masters degree. Would you advice me to applying for F1 visa using an i-20 from a community college or an I-20 from university (msc program then transfer into college later)? What is my chances of getting my F1 visa approved?[To be honest, your chances of getting approved is slim, no visa officer will be aware that you have a Master's degree and will approve your study in a community college. Also, Don't think of hiding your Educational history except you are ready to explain to the VO what you have been doing after your High school education.] |
