Dora i like you but i think you've outlived your use. Look at the following: 1. USA - Yankee 2. Australia - Aussie or Oz. 3. South Africa- S. A. etc. I guess we should stop start using, THE NIGERIAN SENIOR FEMALE FOOTBALL TEAM in place of the Super Falcons then. |
Brilliant point! I didn't think of that. Not only the West should be concerned with Northern Nigeria, we also should be concerned. Poverty is rife in that region, and radical Islam is spreading ie. (Boko Haram). Educating the northern populace should be a task that we all should bear. It is not the populace fault that their elite is against improvement of their region. They use religion as a tool, since they know the people only have their religion. Even if Nigeria ever splits, I would still be worried about the Northern population. We would not want to see Northern Nigeria become the next Somalia or Yemen. Radical elements in Northern Nigeria would remain a problem for all of its neighbors if we do not focus on educating the populace. Look at the attacks in Uganda and Kenya by Somali extremist. We cannot allow that to happen if worse comes to worse. It is already a problem, as it is right now the bokoharam is becoming more appealing to the teeming illiterate youth in the area. Mind you, just because b/haram is the only group you hear of now doesn't mean they're the only one's in existence. Like you said, BASIC EDUCATION SHOULD BE ENSHRINED IN THE CONSTITUTION. Have you ever listened to Shinkafi, Shariff or their Sokoto counter part speak ? They sound barely educated and i wonder how they got into power. GEJ must ensure free and fair elections across boards if he really wants to fix this contraption of ours. |
Does Southern Sudan have oil? Is that oil responsible for more than 90 % of govt revenue?Yep ! Don't know what percentage of the revenue is from oil but Negro, predominantly christian southern Sudan is definitely the one with the oil. Like the story says, there's a territory that 'could' go to the north in the event of the seperation that has some oil. |
One unofficial vehicle blared out a pro-independence song: "It's the promised land and the promised land is coming." "We need to separate from these people (the northerners).I could have sworn someone used exactly those same words on NL last week. |
http://uk.news.yahoo.com/22/20101115 /tpl-uk-sudan-south-referendum- 02bfc7e.html Thousands of south Sudanese started registering for their long- awaited independence referendum on Monday, their first concrete step towards a vote that could split Africa's largest country in two. The launch came after northern and southern leaders agreed they would form a "soft border" allowing the free movement of trade and nomads between their territories in the event of separation, as part of a framework agreement to resolve a list of disputes between the two sides. The referendum on whether the oil- producing region should declare independence, scheduled for January 9 , is the climax of a 2005 peace deal that ended decades of north-south conflict - - Africa's longest civil war that was fought over ethnicity, religion, ideology and oil and that killed 2 million people. Analysts widely expect southerners embittered by the long war to vote for secession. Southern President Salva Kiir, surrounded by chanting crowds and drummers in the southern capital Juba, was among the first to sign up for the vote, a Reuters witness said. "We will vote on January 9. People must come out en masse. Otherwise people would have been fighting and dying for no cause. The referendum is done only once," Kiir told the crowd. CAMPAIGN Officials with megaphones ranged the streets of Juba in the morning calling on people to register. One unofficial vehicle blared out a pro-independence song: "It's the promised land and the promised land is coming." "We need to separate from these people (the northerners). They have not done anything good for us," Juba resident Deng Manyual told Reuters after registering. The pro- independence mood came in the face of a campaign led by Sudan's Khartoum- based President Omar Hassan al-Bashir for southerners to choose to stay united with the north. Southern leaders have accused the north of trying to delay and disrupt the plebiscite to keep control of the south' s oil reserves, |
See what i said ? Inzaghi engine don knock. As the season goes on more of his colleagues will join him which means trouble for you around jan. or feb. Besides Lazio are not sitting on their behinds. |
@Slim, while the best derby in the world is a contentious issue, i'm definitely sure of the most useless derby in the world: the munchen derby. It has to be one of the most awful things to witness in human existence, even the players don't know it exists and those who do find it meaningless. |
Why did you pipo start the party without me ? |
Dayo you're such a lunatic, Obesere loving donkey. |
from the proceedings on this thread i suspect it's two nil. Who's man of the match so far ? |
I'll do that later. But unto more serious matters(atleast to a bayern fan), are any gay parades being planned by Mario and the boyz over this issue ? He actually looks like one of the village people with that attire he was putting on with that girl you claim is his, "girl friend" |
Lol . Batty boyz r us. Hit single i tell ya ![]() |
So ? I can post a video of how Inter Obliterated your team and then post how The Tots in turn whooped Inter, what would that prove ? You see it's this type of reasoning that has got your team focusing on gay rights instead of football. Your players aren't disturbed about being a dozen points behind but are worried about gay players state of mind now ? |
Do you have to be gay rights activists like Mario Gomez too ? |
Man U fans in the words of president Museveni, "you want another rap ? You want another rap? Okay how mar. . . ?" ![]() |
^ Let's see how much you'll love the thread when the rider on it will go "Arsenal Fan Thread: Treble Champions Of England" in 2011 may. ![]() |
We've stumbled needlessly this season. Many gooners're still rue-ing those points against West brom and Castle we threw away, so they have to make those points up against the likes of Everton, Villa and the Spuds. We did it at the City of Manchester stadium so we can do it again, COYG. |
Remember one name,no make it two; Nagayaki Borrusia DortmundMe i'd like to remember the name Lucas Barrios ![]() And in relation to last nite's game, THE 70TH MINUTE. @ edoyad: for a club that has a president with the name 'Hoeness' and the club slogan is - "Up Man s c haft !!" , then it is truly over!!! DayokanuFashanu(may he rest in peace) @muki why this constant hiding now ? Is dayo's body odour bothering you in the sports section or what ? Please show yourself more. |
Actually your father could get free milk in 1960 because literacy rate was at 7 % or thereabouts. Only a select few saw the four walls of a classroom. Today, with literacy rate at 75 %, following the mass education programmes of post- independence Nigerian governments, there are millions more people being educated than the privileged few like your dad in 1960.Lol , good point. People like romanticize the past when there were no roads and people lived in mud houses with straw roofing. But i doubt that figure of 75% literacy, is any country in Africa that literate ? |
^^ ah ah, Mr gay right activist, have you joined education activists too ? Check this out, Justin Fashanu rhymes with Dayo kanu. Hmmmm |
No be Silvia Mikel Obi ? Na like so former gov of New Jersey get wife and children abi ? Shey na like so George Michael been dey flaunt girls all about before him come out ? Na like so Ricky Martin de live la chica loca till him comot shey ? Make i go on ? Don't get me wrong o, i'm a libertarian and believe in freedoms you won't believe, BUT FOR A CLUB THAT HAS A FAN THAT'S ALWAY SHOUTING 'GAY, ARSE. . . ' , it's all over. |
Smuggling is also another key factor affecting our growth. In the northern and western regions of the country especially, foodstuffs and fabrics are smuggled in to the detriment of local industry. These days even cheap labour is smuggled in from Benin republic for construction work by local contractors. |
@op are you alright ? Or did sleep post this thread ? |
OBJ's regime set the ball rolling unfortunately massive corruption almost derailed the whole process. What the government needs to do now is check corruption and ensure capital expenditure is used for capital expenditure. Now people like IBB want to comeback and enjoy what they destroyed, i'd rather this country burn to ashes with no trace it ever existed than that happening. |
This is Pension for successful coup plotters indeed. This NASS better get their act together cos i don't know their priorities any longer. GoodLuck cannot afford to fail us, he must get this election right this time around. We can't afford to be represented by morons any longer. |
Is it The EPL's fault that the Bundesliga is so useless ? All the major leagues in the world had one activity or the other going on( Niger tornadoes of minna played sunshine stars last night too) this midweek, emphasis on "major leagues" . |
Eiyah ! We had so much hope for bkbab, we actually thought he'd grow up to be something likeable. But seriously dude what happened to you ? You used to fun when you first came on in the romance section ![]() |
Arsenal, chelsea and Man u have all tasted victory this week. Wish every one could share in that feeling . |
Its true that people of similar intelligence group togetherHmm ! Just wondering, what do you call a guest who spends 95% of his time with the group ? |
Believe me i'm dumbfounded with what i've read about MTN on this thread ? Well i use them and am even browsing with the network as i type, i believe they have the best internet coverage and speed though i'm not certain. Funny thing happened to me when i went for SIM registration about 2 weeks back. Can you believe the guy registering my SIM told me to use etisalat for browsing ? I'm yet to switch cos when i tried glo it disappointed me so i'm a bit wary of trying another network for now. |
