News Flash: Those supporting Goodluck are also supporting IBB in the end. These men are from the same Party and as long as PDP remains relevant, they both hold on to power, only IBB seems to hold more than Goodluck does, even as President.
In your wildest dreams. If by power you mean stolen wealth and blood of innocent people, then may be you're correct. The same technic of starving people and feeding them with crumbs on from your palms that he hoped to meet will not be the case in every region of the country. IBB is a dinosaur waiting for extinction.

It's this direct and personal form of interaction that seems to be endearing the Nigerian president to his country's growing young and web-savvy electorate. Each new post from Jonathan attracts thousands of comments and some have garnered in excess of 6 ,000 responses. "What distinguishes Jonathan from other politicians is that he seems to have genuinely embraced Facebook," explained Jideonwo. " You can consistently hear his voice in the posts and it feels like he is really trying to communicate with the voters -- this is what makes him so popular ."
Exactly my mind. A person who listens and feels his people's pains. Not some dinosaurs living on a hill in minna or yola who think we're in the medievel ages with lords and servants.

Beckenbauer writes off title for Bayern Munich Updated Oct 13 , 2010 4 :44 PM ET With Franz Beckenbauer all but writing off Bayern Munich's chances of defending the Bundesliga title, the club received more bad news on Wednesday with the injuries of captain Mark van Bommel and striker Miroslav Klose. The honorary president of the German powerhouse says Bayern "can hardly win the championship" now that the club has fallen 13 points behind leader Mainz and sits 12 th after seven rounds. Bayern won the domestic double last season and reached the Champions League final. But injuries to key players Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery and more recently Bastian Schweinsteiger have contributed to the club's dismal start. There was more bad news on Wednesday, with van Bommel and Klose ruled out for the next 10 days. Van Bommel's right-knee injury will rule him out of the Bundesliga game Saturday against Hannover as well as the Champions League game next week against Cluj.

Why we can’t classify MEND as  terrorist group, by EU

THE European Union (EU) commission in  Nigeria on Thursday disclosed why it could  not classify the Movement for the  Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) as a  terrorist organiSation. The EU noted that peace and security topped  its development cooperation with Nigeria as  the 2011  elections draw nearer. Fielding a question as to the possibility of  classifying MEND  as  a terrorist  group it said : “No, we will not brand MEND a terrorist  group. The EU would continue to support the  amnesty programme. Members of MEND have  come out to support the amnesty and  condemned the bombings. That is certainly  not for now, as for our support in the fight  against corruption, we have been behind the  EFCC, strengthening the operational capacity  and we have seen that its investigative  capacity has improved and we can only  strengthen the EFCC, the judiciary and all the  other  anti-corruption agencies. The  government of Nigeria still has the political  responsibility to ensure that best practices  prevail.” The EU has earmarked 56  million euros for  development  in its Country Strategic Paper ( CSP) and National Indicative Programme of  the 10 th European Development Fund (EDF)  and wishes it to be split between the sub- heads of migration as well as the fight  against drug trafficking and organised crime. But ahead of the 2011  general elections in  Nigeria, the EU maintained yesterday that the grants for good governance. . . . . . There is also the focal sector  where we are supporting to harmonise  elections, election assistance and election  observation missions in addition to our  assistance in the area of promotion of good  governance, the fight against terrorism,  tackling drug smuggling and money  laundering, ”. . . . .The content of the former  reflects on the will of most governments of  West Africa and the development packages  include areas of infrastructure. Yes, West  Africa is requesting  further support regarding the EPA development programme but we will  like to start implementing the development  programme first and then if need be, do a  review much later, ”

Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas is targeting a 'winning mentality' after putting all transfer talk behind him this season. The Spain midfielder was linked with a £35 million return to boyhood club Barcelona this summer but Arsenal refused to sanction the transfer. Fabregas maintains he is satisfied with how this summer's saga ended, but feels the Gunners need to start picking up trophies after failing to win anything since their 2005 FA Cup triumph. The talented midfielder, who is understood to have told Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger that he wanted to secure a move away earlier this summer, told radio station Cadena Cope : "I maintain that I was right because (to play for Barcelona) is a dream I have had since childhood. Difficult moments "The truth is that the coach (Wenger) is like a second father to me. I told him what I thought. There were difficult moments. "In the end, when I spoke to Wenger he told me 'no' - he was very emphatic, that the transfer was impossible." Fabregas, who is set to return from a hamstring injury against Birmingham on Saturday, added: "I am satisfied for all parties. It wasn't to be and that's that, though in my head I keep thinking it could have been a good opportunity. "But here (at Arsenal) I have everything. I am still happy. I am very comfortable here, I like the club, lead the team, play football. "We just need to start winning titles because we have a wealth of quality. A winning mentality is missing."
Le capitan le speak.

Ok some one help me understand this, the following is the analysis of the brain activity of a certain poster on NL:

1. 91.37% Arsenal affairs
2. 3.63% Muki
3. 2.01% Bayern Munchen affairs.
4. 3.99% Other matters including chico's underwear and j.lother's bedroom.

Now after a careful study of the above, what assumption would a psychologist be left with pertaining to the subject's obsessions if he has any ?

Why don't you ask for clarification before you launch your attack ? He, Pat Utomi is more popular with 'young educated' Nigerians as shown by a poll carried out a few years back on Nigerian campuses on who they most admired as a role model.
Politics › Re: In Nigeria We (the Followers) Are More Corrupt Than Our Leaders. by edoyad(m): 3:31am On Oct 13, 2010
@safari man, you have to understand that corruption exists in every society, it's like that little glitch in the 'matrix' grin . Even the least corrupt countries have a little corruption going on cos humans as we know them are prone to error.
The problem is when it becomes institutionalised and begins to hamper every sphere of life. So while corruption might have been existent for decades, i believe the economic problems that came about around that era institutionalised corruption in our psyche.
Politics › Re: Poll - Jonathan's Approval Rating by edoyad(m): 3:21am On Oct 13, 2010
^ You're free to start one, free world i believe. While i believe Pat Utomi would score very highly in an opinion poll, he wouldn't do well in a real presidential election. He is only popular with a section of the populale; the young educated type.
Politics › Re: In Nigeria We (the Followers) Are More Corrupt Than Our Leaders. by edoyad(m): 3:10am On Oct 13, 2010
^ To a certain extent i think you're correct. The average Nigerian was forced into corruption in the early 80's when corruption became the order of the day.
A situation where standard of living dropped so drastically caused a reaction in the populace. If for example in an emergency situation a flood wreaks havoc on a city, the people in the city if not provided for by authorities would begin to loot shops and other apartments for their basic needs just to survive. See what happened in katrina, same thing

Some who gave me a lecture recently said he met Jonathan in 2000 while he was deputy governor and he thought he was the humblest and most honest superior govt personality he had ever met.
As for me, i'd take him over anything else running for president even if it was discovered he's the devil's son.
