A 14-man syndicate has been arrested by the Rapid Response Squad(RRS) of the Ekiti State Police over their involvement in the abduction of one Akiode Akinyemi ‘m’, a student of Crown Polytechnic, Odo-Ekiti on June 19.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that a gang of suspected kidnappers sneaked into the hostel apartment of the victim, blindfolded him and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

The police public relations officer in the state, DSP Abutu Sunday via a statement disclosed that after a while, the suspects, through phone calls, started demanding for ransom to be paid as the only condition for the release of Akiode Akinyemi. Consequently, two million two hundred thousand naira(#2,200,000:00) was paid as ransom by the victim’s family members into eight( different Bank Accounts as provided by the suspects.
“Upon the receipt of the information, the RRS Operatives swung into action and on 23rd June, 2021 at about 0400hrs, arrested a total of fourteen(14) suspects in connection with the abduction among whom are ten(10) students of the Institution(Odo Crown Polytechnic) and four others. The arrested suspects are: Afolabi Olamide Lekan ‘m’, Peter Adeyemi ‘m’, Abiodun Oluwaseun ‘m’, Bamidele Emmanuel ‘m’, Adewumi Sola ‘m’, Adesuyi Adeyeye Olarewaju ‘m’, David Daniel ‘m’, Damilare Yusuf ‘m’, Olasile Hassan ‘m’, Jesse Obinna ‘m’, Mohanye Samuel ‘m’, Olugbade Timileyin ‘m’, Olamide Temilade ‘m’ and Blessing Omotuyi ‘m’.” the statement read

Abutu mentioned that all the suspects arrested have confessed to committing the crime and stated that the two million two hundred thousand naira(#2,200,000:00) collected as random before releasing the victim was shared among them.

He stated that the state commissioner of Police, CP Tunde Mobayo, while frowning at the act, appeals to members of the public to always partner and support the Police and other Security agencies especially in intelligence gathering that will assist in getting the Society rid of criminal elements.

Two young women have been killed while a third person seriously injured in a ghastly motor accident whch reportedly occurred in Abuja on Wednesday, June 23, Reports.

From The Information Gathered By , The deceased have been identified as two friends, Kemisola Kesh and Sugar Pearl. The third person, Khalifa Floki, said to be Kemi's boyfriend, is currently in coma, according to one Gama Floki.

Details of the accident are still sketch at the time of this Report, except for a graphic video of the crash.

Meanwhile, friends have taken to Facebook to mourn the young women and pray for the speedy recovery of Khalifa, Learnt.

A 21-year-old 300 level student of the University of Lagos, Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, has revealed that she stabbed her lover, Super TV CEO, Mr Usifo Ataga due drugs and alcohol influence.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the composition of the Federal Government's Team to engage with Twitter over the recent suspension of the operations of the microblogging and social networking service in Nigeria.

The approval was announced in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who will chair the team.

The Federal Government's team also comprises the Attorney General of the Federation and Honourable Minister of Justice, Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment as well as other relevant
government agencies.

Following the indefinite suspension of its operations in Nigeria, for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria's corporate
existence, Twitter wrote to President Buhari seeking to engage with the Federal Government over the suspension, with a view to charting a path forward.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, has said the Federal Government has spent over $5bn since 2016 to fight poverty in the country.

The minister said this during the presentation of letters of engagement and electronic tablets to 248 monitors of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) in Adamawa State over the weekend.

Farouq revealed that President Buhari has since 2016 backed his pledge to pull out 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.

This she said the President has done by committing $1bn through the NSIP to reduce poverty and inequality.

She further described as factual the data referenced in the President’s Democracy Day address, which said 7.5million people had been pulled out of poverty.

“I am happy to report to you that every year since 2016, when NSIP was flagged off, Mr President has approved that $1bn be invested into that sector every year (which aggregated is over $5bn).

“This is part of the measures the President has taken to fulfill his promise of bringing 100 million Nigerians out of poverty,” she said.

Makurdi, the Benue State capital as residents
continue to troop to him at the JS Tarka
Foundation where he offers medical
services to a large number of people with
different health challenges.
A Benue State broadcast platform, Citizen TV
visited the venue on Wednesday, and
reported the mentally unstable man would
upon seeing a patient, write a number of Tiv
traditional ailment affecting the person and
directing them to different traditional
doctors who are expected to treat the
patient.
According to a source who spoke with
DAILY POST, the man had Masters Degree
from the University of Jos before his
unfortunate predicament.
The source said a large number of patients
usually gather at the JS Tarka Foundation in
High-Level Makurdi to consult the man over
their health issues.
According to a lady who gave her name as
Sandra, she heard about the man and had to
come because she had acute pains in her
chest and it seemed to have defiled all
medical conditions.
Sandra said she had conducted the ‘mad
doctor’ and already given a piece of paper
containing what was wrong with her and
she was going to see a traditional healer.

attention from all the hospitals without any

According to him, Benue State Governor,

“Since then, I always come here every
evening after my work to help him on
guiding people,” he added.
A 30-year-old woman who works to
support the mad man in attending to people
recounted how people had thanked the
man for helping them.
“They always come here. After being healed,
they come to give him cash donations.
Government officials, public servants,
policemen and many other people,” She
said.
Following the trend, a Facebook user took to
his page on Friday to express shock over the
activities of the healer-man.
According to him, “I’m a bit confused. I was
told of a ‘mad’ native doctor who sits at the
entrance of IBB Square Makurdi and
prescribes native medicine for sick people
within Makurdi town.
“I learnt of this man through one of my
friends who asked me to accompany him
and his sick brother to consult the man for a
medical solution. I was surprised when I
saw a lot of people hovering around a
supposed “mad” man for medical help.
“A young woman within the age of 29 to 30
years appeared and presented herself to be
working for the supposed “mad” man.
“Soon as we were about leaving, some
group of persons came with gifts and
money to give thanks to the man for healing
their sick son.
‘I also met one of my old girlfriends standing
close to the man and she also testified
during our conversation that she had also
received useful medical advice from the
man.
“What the man does is that he will listen to
you and consult his oracle and then directs
you on where to get native medical
attention or help.
“My friend who brought in a stroke patient
walked towards the man to make inquiries
and to my greatest surprise, he politely
asked him to queue up that he will not
attend to anyone no matter how highly
placed except he queues up behind the
other patients who were already waiting in
line.
“The man was full of confidence and guts.
He was seen sitting with beautiful girls
between the ages of 22 to 24 and above.
“Stories making the rounds also have it that
the man has his first and master’s degrees
at the prestigious University of Jos. I’m still
surprised and shocked to my bones.”
However, another beneficiary who spoke to
DAILY POST from Markurdi, said God was
working through the man to heal people of
their various diseases.
Let me correct the impression of “Mr
Denen,” herein referred to as “a mad man”.

looking at this graduate of the Prestigious
UniJos, you may easily conclude he’s a
mentally unstable, but conversely, a mad
man is easily identified by his behaviours &
utterances, whereas, the case of this old
man is different.

but had several interactive forums with him
just early this year. Let me correct a mis-
presentation here, this old man herein
referred to as “a madman” doesn’t collect
money from clients. He collects gifts
especially, food and snacks.
