emmanuelewumi: The market price can be 10 times or more of the shareholders fund and still be underpriced.
It depends on the Return on Equity, future earning growth rate, the spread between the Return on Invested Capital and the required return .
Another stock can sell below the book value per share but overpriced From this your exposition, then GEREGU and BUA Foods are undervalued. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by EDUECO(m): 12:54pm On Oct 29, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi: Based on the Return on Equity and expected earning growth the Price Book Value should not be more than 5, but the Price Book Value should be close to 15.
It is a wonderful stock but the price does not make sense, Transcorp Power is cheaper But Transcorp Power is also overpriced at current market price! Its shareholders' funds is less than the market capitalization. |

emmanuelewumi: I know it is overpriced. I don't have the stock but I don't think the intrinsic value should be more than N500 I know you as an apostle of ROE(return on equity). Geregu has excellent return on equity. GEREGU has a ROE of about 39% at H1 2025 and the dividend is nothing to write home about. I still hold the view that before an investor buys the stocks of any company he or she should compare the market capitalization to current shareholders' equity in order not to over pay for it. In conclusion,an intelligent investor should never over pay for an investment.

You make it sound like it is for select stocks, or are there companies without intrinsic values? GEREGU at over ₦1000 has low intrinsic value because it's overpriced. |

While intelligent investors are busy struggling to purchase some units of an international bank like ACCESSCORP; the uninformed investors are busy over analyzing the intrinsic value of ACCESSCORP. I have no time for vindictive and uninformed baby investors who are always ready to castigate my noble contributions. |

vacanci: When NB and MTN and Cadbury were in bad shape due to poor results. Smart guys bought into those companies and did over 200%.
Most people are waiting for Access to get to their entry level but the stocks market has a way of disappointing people.
Access intrinsic value is up to N45. Book value is above N70. Fair value around N50. Worst price it can get to should be N20 but smart enteries won't allow it get there. These are even company(NB,MTN and Cadbury) that declared loss for a full financial year. None of the above has paid dividends consistently in the last 10 years. Access Bank is an international financial behemoth. The intrinsic value of ACCESSCORP is above ₦50. |

Utalinmou: It is better to buy a good business at a fair price than buying a drowning or mismanaged business for cheap. You're wrong ! ACCESSCORP is a good company. Last 10 years dividend history has been great. ACCESSCORP has never declared a loss for full financial year in the last 10 years. |

emmanuelewumi: Not awesome in this economy.
You should target a minimum ROE of 20%, a company like Presco has ROE of about 80%, while Nahco has ROE of about 60% In my trading account;through portfolio rebalancing,I have made more than 50% just through my darling ACCESSCORP! You can deduce I have defeated inflation. Folks here call it jijo, but I call it portfolio rebalancing! I have mastered the price movement of ACCESSCORP. While others see ACCESSCORP as dirt,I see it as gold. |

Assuming full year PAT will be N430 billion, the will give a Return on Equity of 11.3% I know ₦550 billion PAT is attainable for 2025 financial year. Even a ROE of 11% is awesome! |

Mpeace: I pray so. Because I have som units of Access bank. But I remain grateful to Sir Emma. It was after his disclosure of having sold off all his units of Access bank that I sold 50% of my holdings in the bank which I moved to Aradel, Transcorp and Presco.
I know Transcorp will not pay good dividends, but their price is good and they have a culture of quarterly improvements in results. You moved from undervalued bank to overvalued Aradel,Transcorp and Presco! With respect to PE ratio at H1 2025, ACCESSCORP is a better investment when compared to Aradel, Presco and Transcorp! |

OANDO value Zone is circa #30
