Two Nigerian women have reportedly been killed by their employers in Saudi Arabia. The women were trafficked to Saudi Arabia to work as maids in different households. They were both killed within a space of two weeks after being physically assaulted by their respective bosses.

According to Satellite Times, the first Nigerian girl to be murdered was by name Omotayo who until her death in June 2018 worked as a migrant domestic worker in Riyadh.

Before her death in June 2018, Omotayo sent photos of her battered self to a group she belonged to called Strong Nigerian Ladies – a solidarity group created by Nigerian migrant domestic workers in Saudi Arabia. She narrated to them the latest incident of battery in the hands of the Saudi family she worked for. She opened up to the group that she was being owed salaries and made to eat leftover food and when she protested, she was beaten.

In the same month that she sent the message to the group, she died, allegedly in the hands of her employees.

Another Nigerian named Shola, was also allegedly killed by her boss in Saudi Arabia, according to Adeola Oladipo, another housemaid in the Strong Nigeria Ladies Group. Adeola narrated:

Shola has been constantly assaulted and starved by her sponsor in Saudi Arabia. Whenever she demands for food they would always beat her up and she became so slim like somebody with HIV.

One day her male boss came as usual to beat her while she was doing chores in the kitchen.

The beating became so severe she had to defend herself with a knife. In the process the knife cut her boss and her sponsor hit her on the neck and she collapsed.

When the boss saw that Shola was dying, he rushed her to the hospital where he said she suddenly fell ill. A few days later, the Nigerian gave up the ghost in the hospital.

The management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) Ile Ife, on Wednesday, announced the suspension of six students of the institution, for alleged involvement in cultism.

According to a release by the Registrar of the university, Mrs Magaret Omosule, which was obtained by DAILY POST, the students were said to have confirmed their membership of a secret cult in the course of police investigation.

The statement reads, “It will be recalled that on Monday, 2nd of July, 2018, an information was received by the University Management that two students of the institution, against their will, were forcefully initiated into cultism outside the University campus.

” Promptly, the security Unit of the University swung into action and, after a thorough preliminary investigation, twelve students of the University were apprehended and handed over to the Osun State Command of the Nigeria Police to assist with further professional investigation.

“After the investigation, therefore, the University, on 20th August, 2018, received a detailed report of the Police findings, where it was confirmed that six students of the University had admitted their membership of proscribed groups, thus breaching their Matriculation Oath, Code of Conduct and other pertinent University regulations.

“Accordingly, and in accordance with the relevant statutes, the following students have been suspended pending the outcome of investigations by the appropriate Students’ Disciplinary Committee. They are :

On Monday, UEFA released their three-man shortlist for their 2017/18 Men’s Player of the Year award.

Luka Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mohamed Salah were confirmed as the top three players, with the winner to be revealed on August 30.

The results took many by surprise as Lionel Messi failed to make the cut.

A jury of 80 coaches of the clubs that participated in the Champions League and Europa League last season, along with 55 journalists voted the players.

UEFA has now released the remaining names to have made the top 10 and it turns out that Messi didn’t even finish fourth.

Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Obi has said he is not thinking of retiring from the national team.

This was following the retirement of Victor Moses last week.

There has been talks about the captain following in the foot steps of Moses but his intermediary told Owngoal that such move is presently not part of the players future plans.

Mikel is not done yet with the national team. He will still play for Nigeria for the foreseeable future.

When the time for retirement comes it won’t be because of the departure of another player.

For now, he is still interested in playing for Nigeria, he said.

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the June/July 2018 Senior Secondary Schools Certificate Examination results.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by the acting Registrar of the Council, Abubakar Gana.

Gana said out of the 1,041,536 candidates who sat for the examinations, only 742,455 of the candidates got at least five credit passes including Mathematics and the English Language.

He added that a total number of 20,181 candidates were involved in examination malpractices, less than the figure of 2017.

3. The Action Democratic Party (ADP) on Saturday explained why it opted out of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) led Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP). Speaking at the South-West stakeholders meeting, ADP National Chairman, Yabagi Sanni, said the party dumped the coalition due to conflict of ideologies. He also said that the party has realised that the people in the coalition had no moral credentials to rescue the country.

4. Report says two minor landslides Saturday hit Nanka community of Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, sending indigenes and residents of the community into panic. According to the report, the landslides happened in a section of the community that had been abandoned by indigenes as a result of gully erosion.

5. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has officially called off the Search and Rescue Operations at the site of the collapsed building in Jabi, Abuja. The agency confirmed that only one person died in the building while six others were injured.

6. The Akwa Ibom State Government has filed N50 billion lawsuit against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over an unlawful freezing of its account recently. The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Uwemedimo Nwoko disclosed this to newsmen in an interview on Friday at the Government House Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

7. Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has signed into law three Bills transmitted by the National Assembly. Laolu Akande, his Senior Special Assistant on Media, made the announcement in a statement on Saturday. The Acts were the Federal Capital Territory Civil Service Commission (Establishment) Act, 2018; the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (Establishment) Act, 2018; and the Federal School of Medical Laboratory Technology (Science) Jos (Establishment) Act, 2018.

8. The Depot Nigerian Army has said that it will conduct an outdoor range classification exercise for 77 Regular Recruits Intake from Monday, August 20 to Saturday, September 1. A statement on Saturday by Lt. Adekunle Akinyele, Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria, advised residents to keep-off the area of the exercise.

9. President Muhammadu Buhari has declared that he is feeling good after returning to Abuja on Saturday. Responding to reporters on his health upon arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, Buhari said he was feeling very good.

10. No fewer than three people have been killed and hundreds of others displaced following a monsoon rainfall in Adamawa. Reports claim that the heavy rainfall was recorded in some areas of the state last Thursday night. The affected areas included Yolde-Pate, Jambutu and Loko in Yola South, Yola North and Song Local Government Areas of the state, respectively.

Reality star Kim Kardashian was once cautioned by her doctors to stop having too much sex following revelations about the star’s daily multiple sex routine in effort to get pregnant.

Kim, who was 34 at that time, had revealed in the Season 10 of their family reality show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” that she and husband, Kanye West, were having “the best sex of their lives” and were going at it about 15 times a day in the effort to give their daughter North West a brother or sister.

During a preview for the show, Kim confessed to have “been having sex 15 times a day” but was forced to have a rethink after doctors warned categorically that too much sex was dangerous to her health.

There are many couples like Kim and Kanye (and not just in Hollywood) who are hooked on sex orgies and realising almost too late that too much sex can be too much of a good thing.

Sex is a normal, healthy, fun part of adult life. Sexual attraction and sexual compatibility are the basis of many successful relationships. Sex is good and glorious, but the truth is that too much sex is no just as bad as too little sex, if not worse.

While science suggests sex can improve mood and decrease anxiety by reducing stress signals in the brain, excessive indulgence can interfere with overall quality of health. In fact, it is known that a large appetite for sex can cause loss of appetite for other things including food.

Scientists have suggested that people that spend their life on frantic love-making and engaging in marathon sex might not find happiness at the end of it all.

“Engaging in too much sex can actually cause unhappiness, if findings by researchers from Carnegie Mellon University are to be taken seriously. They instructed 32 married couples to double the amount of sex they were having, while a control group of 32 other couples kept having sex at their normal frequencies.

When questioned afterwards, the couples who had sex more weren’t happier – saying that the increase in frequency led to them feeling less desire for each other. The couples also enjoyed having sex less when they were ‘doing it’ more.

“The desire to have sex decreases much more quickly than the enjoyment of sex once it’s been initiated,” said Tamar Krishnamurti, a scientist at the College.

So how much sex is ideal, and how much is too much?

According to research, youngsters aged18- 29 have sex an average of 112 times per year, while 30-39-year-olds engage in it an average 86 times per year. So if that’s average, what’s healthy?

Experts say most couples in a relationship should be having sex at least once per week. According to a therapist Dr. Barry McCarthy, sex once or twice a week is healthy.

“During the honeymoon stage, when two people can’t stop thinking about each other, couples often have sex every time they’re together. And when couples first move in together, the frequency of sex increases, but only temporarily.

Sexual obsession or hypersexuality, compulsive sexual behaviour, sex addiction and other forms of excessive indulgence in sex could be a sign of loneliness or depression.

A study published in 2013 suggests that much of the time, hypersexuality is really just “high desire” and not necessarily a medical issue. Regardless, if sex is being used as a substitute for dealing with a real issue, it requires therapy.

“What matters at the end of the day is the quality rather than the quantity. Having sex daily doesn’t mean it’s too much, so long as both partners enjoy it,” sex therapist, Dr Ian Kerner noted. But if partners are regularly having sex and one person feels more satisfied than the other, sex can start to feel like a chore for the less-satisfied party.

Really there’s no right way to go about sex, and the preferred amount of sex varies from person to person. For instance, the average male ejaculates three to six minutes after sex begins, so the majority of women don’t feel too left out because most don’t achieve orgasm through penetration alone.

“Sex is a bilateral experience,” one expert mooted. “Both partners ought to be instrumental in its choreography and neither one should ever feel that they are being forced to adhere to the other’s agenda.

“For a fulfilling sex life that’s just right, it’s helpful to be honest and open with your partner about how frequently you’d like to be intimate. And that doesn’t mean it needs to be a boring discussion. Telling your partner about your desires—in specific terms—can be highly erotic.”

One study found that couples who communicate about sex, especially during the act, are more sexually satisfied. So there should be mutual enjoyment, whether that means giving or getting.

That said, if you ever feel overwhelmed (either physically or emotionally) by the kind or amount of sex you’re having, let your partner know you need a break.

Sex can be dangerous if there’s any sort of pressure or force to do something with which either party isn’t comfortable.

Having sex on the regular is part of a healthy, normal adult life. But when sex gets in the way of your day-to-day, it might be time to seek professional help. Appetites for sex grow and shrink, and successful couples are compelled to manage those ups and downs. Sometimes libidos will match up, but when they don’t, Kerner says everyone should take responsibility for their own sexuality.

Kofi Annan, the former United Nations Secretary General, has died at the age of 80.

The UN made the announcement on Saturday.

Kofi Atta Annan, a Ghanaian diplomat was born on 8 April 1938.

He served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations from January 1997 to December 2006.

Annan and the UN were the co-recipients of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize.

He was the founder and chairman of the Kofi Annan Foundation, as well as chairman of The Elders, an international organization founded by Nelson Mandela.

Corp members in Kogi orientation camp have complained that their camp is infested with snakes and they were filmed taking selfies with a snake they killed in their hostel.

According to reports, this is the 4th time this batch of corp members will find a snake in a hostel in Asaya Kabba orientation camp, Kogi, and they have only been in camp for barely 2 weeks.

In the most recent incident, the snake was found in the toilet in the male hostel and was killed by the corp members who then gathered to film it and take photos.

The Lagos State Government has warned the general public against falling prey to fraudsters planning to defraud unsuspecting Lagosians following the announcement by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to inject additional 1000 teachers into the state public schools.

According to a release by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Adebunmi Adekanye, some faceless individuals have been collecting details of intending applicants on some social media platforms with a promise to help them secure employment as teachers in the State.

The Permanent Secretary counselled interested applicants to wait for the display of the vacancy advertisement on the official portal of the State Government dedicated for recruitment, adding that any request for bio-data on any other social media platform should be disregarded as it is not authorised.

She disclosed that approval of the framework for the recruitment was still being processed and the public will be duly provided information on procedures for applying for the vacant positions.

Protesting Shiite members this afternoon stoned to death a yet to be identified police officer.

Security officers were stationed out the Kaduna state High Court where a case against the religious group's leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife was heard today June 21st.

El-Zakzaky and his wife were arraigned on an eight counts charge bordering on alleged culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, disturbance of public peace among other allegations.

About 30 persons are feared dead following a fresh attack by unknown gunmen in Malikawa village, Gidan Goga district of Maradun local government area in Zamfara state. According to reports, the gunmen were said to have attacked and killed about five persons who had gone to work on their farms and twenty-five others who wanted to retrieve their corpses for burial.

A resident of the community, Mallam Makau, said “In the early hours of the morning, five residents who had gone to plant seeds on their farmlands were shot dead by the armed bandits hiding in a forest near our community. When people of the area went to get the corpses for burial, the gunmen started shooting sporadically and they killed about 25 persons.”

Confirming the attack, the spokesperson of the state police command, Muhammad Shehu, said the attack was a result of a land dispute between two warring factions.

The Nigerian Troops says it has destroyed Boko Haram terrorists structures in Bama, Gobara, in its ongoing “Operation Thunder Strike’’ against the insurgents in North East.

The NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information, AVM. Olatokunbo Adesanya, who confirmed this in a statement on Friday in Abuja, said the air interdiction was carried out on Tuesday. “On the second day of the ongoing operation `Thunder Strike’, the Air Task Force (ATF) operation Lafiya Dole successfully conducted air interdiction on Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) infested location, 13 Nautical Miles North East of Bama.

A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft had previously observed significant BHT presence in the location. Accordingly, the ATF detailed a combination of fighter aircraft and helicopter gunships to attack the insurgents’ position.

Overhead the location, the attack platforms took turns to unleash their ordinance on the targets while the NAF ISR aircraft conducted Battle Damage Assessment (BDA),” he said. He said at the end of attacks, the BDA revealed the target structures to have been destroyed and engulfed in fire while the occupying terrorists were neutralised.

According to Adesanya, the Air Task Force later in the day, in continuation of the operation, successfully conducted another attack on a location in Gobara, 15km Northwest of Gwoza. “Previous ISR report had indicated that the location served as a hideout for the insurgents.

Consequently, NAF fighter aircraft were detailed to carry out air interdiction on the location. The fighter jets acquired and took turns to strafe the location, destroying the building and killing most of the BHTs in the process. After the attacks, the BDA revealed that some other adjoining BHT structures and hideouts were equally destroyed,” he said. NAF commenced its ongoing operation Thunder Strike on Monday in the North East.

With 2018 World Cup tournament holding in Russia, the first sex robot brothel has now been opened in Moscow, a business zone in the capital city.

According to the owners of the brothel, named, The Dolls Hotel, they are seeking to attract clients attending the World Cup tournament including England fans and even footballers.

The owners say sex robots named Lolita, Sasha, Natasha, Alise and Isilel are waiting for customers coming into Russia, and rooms will cost between £17.75 and £29.50 per hour.

A spokesman for the hotel said: “We really are waiting for a flow of visitors during the World Cup - and we look forward many foreign clients, including from England.

“This is why we are now getting special permission to welcome foreign visitors.

“As for the players - if they are allowed by their coaches and managers, we will only welcome them.”

President Buhari will tomorrow Tuesday May 8th, embark on a four-day trip to the United Kingdom to see his doctor.

A statement by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, says in the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, President Buhari had a meeting with his doctor and the doctor requested that he returned for a meeting which he agreed to do.

He said Buhari would return on Saturday, May 12th.

The number of homes destroyed by Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano has jumped to 31 as scientists report lava spewing more than 200 feet (61 meters) into the air. In revised figures, Hawaii County officials said another four unspecified structures were covered by lava.

Some of the more than 1,700 people who evacuated prepared for the possibility they may not return for quite some time. Hawaii officials said the decimated homes were in the Leilani Estates subdivision, where molten rock, toxic gas and steam have been bursting through openings in the ground created by the volcano.

Officials immediately ordered a mandatory evacuation for thousands of residents of the Leilani Estates and Lanipuna Gardens subdivisions. Officials also evacuated 2,600 visitors from Volcanoes National Park, which provides public access to lava viewing points.

On Thursday, May 3, 2018 EFCC secured the conviction of Ikechukwu Elom Awoke, before Justice A. Y. Sanya of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri, on a 2-count amended charge bordering on conspiracy and cheating to tune of N350,000 (three hundred and fifty thousand naira).

He was sentenced to six months imprisonment with option of fine of N50,000 for conspiracy on count one and eighteen months imprisonment with option of fine of N50,000 for cheating on count two.

The case was triggered by a petition dated August 16, 2017 by one Noami Wanya, who claimed she met the convict through the Facebook, and in the process entered into a relationship with the aim of marrying each other.

In the course of the relationship, Awoke fraudulently obtained N350,000 from the petitioner through his account domiciled in one of the old generation banks, prompting the victim to petition the EFCC.

The offence is contrary to and punishable under Sections 320 (a) and 322 of the Penal Code Law Cap 102, Laws of Borno State. Awoke pleaded guilty to the two counts and was convicted and sentenced by the court after a review of the facts of the case.

A Facebook user, Onyi Blonde shared these shocking photos of a padlock with the key she excreted early this morning.

According to her, the padlock has been inside her body for 23 years and said she was told by her pastor that she has two things in her body hindering her progress in Life. She wrote;

A video footage shared online shows the shocking moment a wildlife park owner was savagely mauled by a lion in front of screaming onlookers after he entered the animal's enclosure.

Mike Hodge, a 67-year-old British expert, was rushed to hospital with injuries to the neck and jaw following the shocking incident caught in South Africa. In the video filmed at the Marakele Predator Park in South Africa, Mr Hodge is seen entering the lion's enclosure.

He reportedly went in to check out a smell that was upsetting one of the lions. However, while he was in the enclosure, a lion charges towards him. Mr Hodge turns around and runs towards the gate leading out of the enclosure but the lion catches up before he can exit the enclosure. The big animal pounces on Hodge and drags him deeper into the enclosure as onlookers cry for help. Then, suddenly, a loud bang is heard and the lion drops Mr Hodge and runs for cover.

Hodge was taken to the hospital where he is making a recovery. Pictures shows Mr Hodge smiling in his hospital bed despite his injuries, with a friend telling The Sun that he is recovering from the dramatic ordeal.

The friend said: "Mike and one of his rangers were a little concerned about a smell in a compound that was upsetting one of the lions and had gone in through the gate to see what was causing it.

"He is no fool around lions and knows how to interact with them but clearly something went wrong".

Mr Hodge set up the Marakele predator park with his wife Chrissy as a passion project. The park was established in 2010 after the Hodge and Chrissy emigrated from the UK. They moved to South Africa in 1999 and started a lion conservation project in 2003 on a farm 30kms from Thabazimbi. A few years later they relocated to the town in the Limpopo province and founded the Marakele Predator Park.

Marakele remains closed in the wake of the attack. The lion is thought to have been killed in the wake of the grisly attack.

CCTV footage of two girls in Makassar city, Indonesia, scamming an ATM user has gone viral online.

In the CCTV recording of the ATM center in the city’s Tamalanrea district on April 20, the two young girls are shown expertly stealing money from a woman who wanted to make a withdrawal from the machine.

Two culprits, aged 11 and 9, fitting that description were recently arrested in the Indonesian city of Makassar after getting caught on camera carrying out the alleged crime.

According to the police, the girls, identified as child beggars were able to pull off the crime through subterfuge by strategically distracting the ATM user.

“So when the victim was carrying out a transaction and the ATM was processing it, the two girls offered to sell her goods, leading to the victim losing focus. When the victim pulled the money out of the ATM, one girl presses ‘next transaction’ [on the ATM screen unbeknownst to the victim]. When the victim left the ATM, the girls grabbed the money from the second transaction,” said Tamalanrea Police Chief Syamsul Bachtiar, last Friday.

At the time, the victim in the video was not aware of a second transaction because the ATM automatically ejected her card before dispensing the cash.

Syamsul said the police have arrested both WE and RS and believe that the girls carried out the scam three times, the latest of which was caught in the viral video. In total, they managed to steal IDR5 million (US$360) from their victims.

It’s not yet clear what charges the girls will face, but considering their age, they might escape criminal punishment in accordance with child protection laws.

The police say they are investigating the possibility that adults were behind the scam.
