A Nigerian guy was hit with the greatest shock of his life this valentine after he decided to travel for miles to surprise his girlfriend this valentine.

The gentleman, Emeka Eze, said he traveled all the way from Lagos to Warri to surprise his bae, only for him to get there and discover that his bae had other plans for the day.

The first time I watched blue movies was way back when I was in class 8 when we sneaked with my friends to a local video hall. I had never experienced it. Having been raised in strict Christian background I vowed to my 13-year-old self never to go back to watching blue movies. That night and for several weeks I was haunted as the pictures from the blue movies kept playing in my mind.

In high school, I was an active CU member. In fact, I was appointed as CU chairman in form two.

But towards the end of form two, I would see people on Saturdays watching movies in our TV hall. One night I had stayed behind to read, so as I left the hall to dormitories at around 1 am, I saw that TV was still. When I peeped to see what they were watching, right on my face as pornographic movies.

I quickly walked away. Here’s the problem I could not stop thinking about it. I finally yielded to the pressure. I was so eager for the weekends. But since I was a CU chairman and I had a character to uphold I had to be clever.
So I would sneak up to the window and feed my mind with the images. It’s dark, it’s late, I’m wondering what if the askari comes and find me hanging on the window.

My grades went low and my concentration in class fizzled out.

During holidays, that became the trend. I remember one time in form three my friend and I were accidentally locked inside the computer lab. To me that was it! The whole night I was hopping from one website to the other.

I cleared my high school, and thank God my grades were good by my standards!

After doing a course in shipping management, I got a job in a company in Mombasa. At that time, I could not help it. I was a slave of pornography.

Here’s the twist, back at home I was appointed as the youth leader in our local church. I lead church services, I talked with them, but inside I was a mess.

In my first job, there was nothing else that I was doing on my desk besides watching pornography. It did not help that they had pretty fast internet. I would quickly finish my work to get back to my hobby.

That job lasted for only four months after a big blunder that cost the company a fortune. This was after hours of watching sexual material.

My self-esteem was really low, I couldn’t even get a girlfriend because in my mind I thought they would know what I was doing in secret.

In my second job, same thing, same behaviour. In fact, it moved from bad to worse. I had started having severe headaches at this time. I would keep taking painkillers. I started getting hallucinations.

When someone was talking to me, I’d blankly be staring at empty space. Then I would scream, to chase away pictures. This happened a lot of time.

But in 2013, my sister’s epileptic condition had gotten worse as well.

I turned prayers, but every time I would backslide back to my vice. There’s a time I watched pornography for over 8 hours. Obviously masturbating in the bathroom, feeling bad and still going back to it. I was chained.

That really affected me, I would be weak, feeling guilty, self-shame and clearly, my self-esteem was at low.

You see, I couldn’t open up to anyone for fear of being judged.

I remember my prayer on this particular day. I asked God to exchange my addiction with bhang.

I had friends who were addicted to the substance, and they looked happy! I was stressed. Perhaps it would calm me down.

On that day I think I was at the end of the road. My phone was the first victim and a voice told me that I had to share my story.

The following weekend we had a youth kesha in my local church and was by default the MC. Funny thing is that the church was unusually full. So I asked if anyone had something to share. No one was standing. Silence

I found myself telling the congregation that I had something to share.

There was pin-drop silence as I narrated my story. I detailed my account in an intense one-hour long narration. You could hear paper drop. “What’s he talking about” their eyes seemed to ask me

After an hour of sharing. “I have a feeling God has begun the healing journey with me, I don’t know how many of us would like to begin this journey with me,” I asked.

Nothing.

Even my closest friends did not come close to me. I was like the plague. They started judging me, they did not want to be associated with porn guy.

I lived with that stigma for a couple of months standing up to the rebuke of telling my story.

But a certain pastor in Mombasa helped me with advice in series of meetings. I was in a journey back to recovery.

But on my end, the struggle had just begun and it was not easy. Sometimes I could share my story, and still, watch the videos at night.

Enough was enough.

I met a guy from Teens Development Initiative that ran counselling in high school. They decided to include me as part of their team. We did over 60 schools with storytelling taking centre stage.

Without realizing it, that period had helped me heal. I had stopped watching pornographic material.

My life had been crowded by either the teen initiative or epilepsy awareness events.

I tell my story to encourage people that it’s possible to unchain from difficult vices. Refocus your mind to less harmful things.

I would later be appointed as a board member at National Epilepsy Coordination board for my efforts in creating awareness and reaching out to the affected.

Seeking help for my sister really helped me evade the vice that was eating me up.

According to South African police, a suspected poacher has been eaten by a pride of lions, leaving just his head behind.

The unidentified man’s remains were found lying next to a loaded hunting rifle in a private game reserve near the Kruger National Park in Limpopo province on Saturday morning.

According to the UK’s Daily Mail, locals were first alerted to something amiss by the sound of screams and scattered gunshots, but it was too late to help.

Limpopo police spokesman Moatshe Ngoepe told news agency AFP “It seems the victim was poaching in the game park when he was attacked and killed by lions. They ate his body, nearly all of it, and just left his head and some remains.”

Police are now trying to establish exactly who the man was. It is not known what animal he was hunting when he died however it may have been the lions.

A video trending online shows a masquerade flogging members of the Lord's Chosen church as they were busy carrying out their street evangelism.

In the video, the members of the church can be seen dressed in their usual neon green apron, walking the street. Soon, a masquerade is seen flogging the church members as they scatter to safety, with some jumping into a nearby bush.

The young men who make up the masquerade's entourage can be seen in the video cheering him as the flogging continues. There is a second masquerade at the scene but he does not join in the flogging.

The chairman of Southern Ijaw National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGA) has been assassinated by unknown gunmen.

According to Elaye Igbian Warifagha Yagila (Secretary CDC Anyama-ijaw) the unknown gunmen attacked a tricycle carrying the chairman and shot him dead about 2pm on Friday, February 9th, at Kekenape at Anyama-Ijaw Junction, Bayelsa.

"It all happen at about 2.15pm today being Friday 9th February, 2018. when unknown gunmen attacked a Tricycle popularly known as Kekenape at Anyama-Ijaw Junction this afternoon and Killed the Southern Ijaw NULGA Chairman."

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has released a new video pledging to continue attacks days after Nigerian army repeated that the group had been defeated.

The factional leader said in the video which was released on Tuesday said that a recent effort to clear out Boko Haram’s stronghold of Sambisa forest in Borno State had failed and vowed to keep fighting against Nigeria and western education.

“The person that believes in nationalism is the one we are at war with, the person who believes in disseminating western education, which is replete with unbelief, is the one we fight”, Shekau said in the 11-minute video.

In the video, delivered in Hausa Language, Shekau expressed frustration on the continued hostility and loss of his supporters to Nigerian army.

He pleaded with his non-combatant members across Nigeria to pick up arms and help him fight till he drops dead. He added that the latest claim by the military that the group had been sent packing from Sambisa forest was false.

He boasted that he is still in Sambisa forest and still controls the territory.

“You, the military chief in Maiduguri, have been boasting of taking over Sambisa because you rescued women, telling lies to people. Where are the policewomen? Why didn’t you rescue them if you have indeed defeated us since it is our brethren that is holding them in the same Sambisa?,” he questioned in the video.

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari said Boko Haram which means “Western education is forbidden” in the Hausa language was “technically defeated” in December 2015.

Boko Haram’s capacity has been weakened since 2014 when it controlled swathes of territory in northeast Nigeria but it still poses a threat.

Last Sunday, Boko Haram fighters stormed a village in northeast Nigeria, killing two people, while six people were killed in an attack in northern Cameroon.

At least 20,000 people have been killed in nearly nine years of violence and more than 2.6 million made homeless, triggering a humanitarian crisis across the Lake Chad region.

A postgraduate student of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has been found dead at Tamburawa river, Kano in a suspected case of suicide.

Ms Zubaida Nuhu, who was running a Masters programme at the Department of Water Resources Engineering and was about to start work in the same department as a graduate assistant, was found dead on Saturday, February 3.

A sand excavator, Ibrahim Musa, who spoke to Premium Times, said the deceased arrived Tamburawa and asked for “the deepest part of the river.”

That was the last time anyone saw her alive. Her step-father, Tajuddeen Alhaji, said Nuhu left home on Saturday to withdraw money for a journey to Zaria.

“On that fateful Saturday around 11.00 a.m she told her mother she wanted go to withdraw money from ATM. Few minutes later, she sent her phone and purse to her mother. Her mother called me around 4.00 p.m that Zubaida left home to withdraw money since 11.00 a.m but hasn’t comeback. Immediately I notified police and local radio stations,” he said.

Mr. Tajuddeen said he later received a call notifying him of the discovery of a corpse of a female at Tamburawa river along Zaria road, Kano.

"When we checked, we found it was Zubaida’s corpse,” he said.

Nollywood comic actor, John Okafor popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has revealed why he ended his boxing career to become an actor.

In an interview with PUNCH, the Nollywood star disclosed he was once a boxer and added that he quit boxing when a Delta boy battered his face in a championship fight.

One of the Whistleblowers of the famed Ikoyi billions case has come out to reveal intricate details of his encounter with the Economic and financial crimes commission(EFCC) and the true series of events that occurred, leading to the discovery of over $43 million.

In a video obtained by PoliticsNGR, the whistleblower who goes by the name Abdulmumin Musa, an estate agent, revealed that he has lived in Ikoyi for over 20 years. He claims he regularly took clients to the Osborne towers apartment complex for inspection. He reveals that one of the security guards, Steven, called him one day to talk about something.

Steven informed Abdul that he suspects that a huge cache of money was stashed in Apartment 7 and even told Abdul of his plans to rob the place, But Abdul advised him to hold back and wait. The estate agent continues revealing that a group of bankers were responsible for bringing in the six safes used in keeping the money.

He says a woman was always visiting the apartment to take money. Abdul adds that he decided to report the issue to EFCC. He approached Steven and informed him of the plan to report to EFCC, and also called one of his fellow estate agents, Bala Usman about the plan. Usman introduced Abdul to one Sheriff who works with the EFCC. They reported the issue and nothing was done until a month later.

He expressed surprise when he read the headlines on his phone and decided to ask his fellow whistleblowers if they were contacted by the EFCC, they denied, saying they heard nothing.

He then reveals that he mustered courage to go back to the EFCC and was surprised to know that the EFCC had contacted Steven, he then called Steven to inquire from him, Shockingly Steven admitted meeting with the EFCC and then told Abdul that a ‘quarrel they had in Obalende’ was the reason why he didn’t inform him(Abdul).

Suprised, the estate agent pressed further and Steven revealed to him “that an account number had been sent to the ministry of finance that nothing could be done to include him(Abdul)”.

Steven revealed that he was given N500,000 on the same day of reporting the case and was lodged in a hotel. He then disclosed that he narrowly escaped being assassinated in the hotel after two armed men in suits stormed his hotel room, luckily for him, he was at the reception.

Bala Lawal is an unemployed man,who allegedly stabbed an attendant for stopping him from smoking in a petrol station.

Mr. Lawal, 23, who resides on Lawal Street, Mangoro, Agege, Lagos, today appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court and he is standing trial for assault.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Mike Unah, told the court that the accused stabbed Mr. Godwin Okonta on November 8 at Aguda, Ogba in Lagos, after smoking marijuana.

Unah said Okonta told Lawal to move away from the filling station while he was smoking, and that the accused later came back and stabbed him on the head with a knife.

Unah said witnesses consequently apprehended the accused. He noted that the offence contravened Section 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The accused, however, pleaded ‘not guilty.

The Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Gbajumo, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Gbajumo adjourned the case until December 4 for mention. (NAN)

A pregnant Ghanaian lady has reportedly dumped her 5-year-old step-daughter, Esinam inside hot water for bed wetting.

According to a Facebook user, Afoko Ruth who shared pictures of the affected daughter on the platform, the young girl was dumped in a hot boiled water and locked up in her room for 3 weeks so that no one finds out.

She added that the young girl needs proper medical care because her private parts have been affected as a result of keeping the 5-year-old indoor without any medical attention.

She wrote:

“So 5yrs old Esinam has been tortured by her step mum all because she claims she wet her bed. She was dumped in a hot boiled water and locked up in her room for 3 weeks so that know one finds out.
this images you are seeing was as a result of what her step mother of hers who is even pregnant did to her. This didn’t happen in a “Village” but in a community called Odumprala close to Amasaman in the GA south municipality.
As a result of keeping 5yrs old Esinam indoors without any medical attention her private parts have been affected according to Amasaman Doctor’s report.
Where are our women and children activists?

Thirty people were killed early this morning by a teenage boy in a bloody suicide attack at a Mosque in Mubi, Adamawa State.

The suicide attack occurred around 5:20am local time, at Kunu Araha, a suburb in Mubi North. It was allegedly triggered by a yet to be identified teenage boy who set off the suicide vest he was wearing.

Adamawa police spokesman, Othman Abubakar who confirmed the incident, said more than 30 persons lost their lives in the dawn mosque attack.

He noted that several other persons wounded in the attacks are receiving medical attention at various medical hospitals in Mubi Town.

He said:

“We were made to understand that there was a bomb blast at a mosque in Mubi and over 30 lives were lost. A boy about 17-year-old wearing a suicide vest entered the mosque along with other worshippers. Immediately after the prayers, he detonated the bomb. Many of the wounded are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Mubi North where the attacks occurred around Kunu Araha area”

A Facebook user has revealed how a young man Abdulmalik Kabir Yaro, was beaten to death by a Local Gang because of his effort to stop the said gang from seeing his younger sister who’s hardly the age of courtship, and this happened to him just four weeks after losing his younger brother to cancer.

The young man Abdulmalik Kabir Yaro was cornered by the local gang and was beaten to a pulp and he gave up the ghost before he could have access to medical care.

YET ANOTHER SENSELESS MURDER – Maiwada Dammallam

This is Abdulmalik Kabir Yaro, a wonderful son of my friend from childhood. Abdulmalik lost his younger brother to leukemia about 4 weeks ago. This morning he’s dead, killed (read, executed) by a local gang. Abdulmalik’s offense which earned him death sentence in the court of this gang was his effort to stop the wayward gang from seeing his young sister who’s hardly the age of courtship.

The gang somehow cornered Abdulmalik and beat him up to pulp yesterday. He was rushed to the hospital in coma and gave up the ghost today around 11 am. This is not in Katsina, Kano, Lagos or Port Harcourt, this happened in the heart of Malumfashi, my sweet serene hometown. I’m devastated!

That the victim was my son while my hometown was the theatre of this ungodly violence, made it even more disturbing. That it’s another crime induced by passion and possibly drugs when Nigeria is debating yesterday’s callous murder of a young man by his wife in a case of domestic violence made it even more tragic and cause for concern.

Where are we heading? Why is murder becoming a cheap option for conflict resolution among the youth? What’s missing in the system that people don’t seem afraid to commit grievous offenses that hitherto, were seen only in western movies? We are slowly inching towards a lawless society for lack of political will to implement punitive laws scripted for our country to curtail and control criminality. Most laws in Nigeria are mere decoration on dusty shelves in courtrooms; made ineffective by a cumbersome judicial system. I’m sure the murderers of Abdulmalik would have had a second thought before his murder had they watched a convicted murderer hanged to death for the offense. Sadly, all they have to stimulate their respect for the law were countless stories of murderers getting away with murders due to a mixture of clumsiness and cunningness of our judicial system.

It’s sad that a cry for justice in Nigeria is a cry that only the victim could hear. Our courts are more like a sanctuary for criminals than for their victims. With money, one could get away with almost any crime imaginable under the sun. Good cases were lost to judicial technicalities that have no relevance to the facts of the case. Only in Nigeria would a criminal like Evans who made billions in ransom from his kidnapped victims (some of whom were killed by him anyway) would battle the court to enforce his “human right”. It should make sense that people are resorting to improvised laws to deal with criminality.

Thanks to the inefficacy of our justice system, individual communities have designed laws that are already being implemented in full to dispense speedy justice. Thieves of all grades and categories are roasted by the roadside to circumvent the cumbersomeness of our justice system in most states in the Southern part of the country. It’s only a matter of time before other parts of the country borrow and tailor the system to suit their needs. The only antidote for such likely crisis is a wholistic review of the justice system to make more compliant and user friendly.

A 30-year-old man, Ahmed Matunma wojuekun has been arraigned in an Osogbo Chief Magistrates ‘ court for raping a minor to death at Mofoworade village, Ifetodo, in Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State.

The incident which occurred in the early hours of Friday reportedly caused friction in the sleepy community.

According to the police prosecutor, Insp. Olusegun Elisha, the suspect forcefully had canal knowledge of the minor, which resulted to her death.

He added that the incident thereafter resulted to pandemonium , which prompted the police to apprehend the suspect and charged him to court immediately.

The suspect was charged for rape and murder.

The prosecutor said the offense contravened sections 221(1), 319(1) of the criminal code cap 34 vol. 11 laws of Osun, 2003.

The Magistrate, Mrs Habibatu Bashiru, after listening to the plea of the defendant later ordered him to be kept in Ile-Ife prison custody due to the magnitude of the offense committed.

She, thereafter, adjourned the case till Jan. 22 , 2018 for mention.

A German driver who parked his car back in 1997 then forgot where he parked it, has now been reunited with the car exactly 20 years after, and it was found at the exact spot he left it.

Authorities in Frankfurt found the car in a garage in a building which is set for demolition. The car was rotting in a garage all these years and is now unfit to drive.

The car owner had phoned the authorities to report the car missing after he couldn’t find it. After he searched and still didn’t see the car, he assumed it had been stolen but it has now been discovered that the Volkswagen Passat had just been hidden from view and was actually exactly where he left it.

Police drove the 76-year-old man to be reunited with his Volkswagen Passat. The car had only been discovered because it had been parked in a building which is being regenerated. According to German paper Augsberger Allgemein, the car was getting in the way of building work so police had to investigate and find out who it belonged to.

Frankfurt authorities said: “The car can no longer be driven and will be sent to the scrap heap.”

An 88-year-old man, who gave his name as Gbeminiyi Adeyiga, on Thursday told an Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos that his wife of 30 years sleeps with different men right in their home.

Adeyiga pleaded with the court to dissolve the marriage over his wife’s alleged infidelity and lack of care.

Adeyiga resides at No. 3, Adeyiga St., off Munirat Aleje Street in Ikorodu.

He also told court that his wife was also threatening to kill him.

He said, “My wife does not take care of me any longer; she does not give me good food and different men come to sleep with her in our home.

“She frustrates me and she wants to kill me, I don’t want to die now, please separate us.‎”

The respondent, a 55-year-old woman named Sekinat, who is also a trader, denied the allegations made by her husband.

She said that she still loved her husband and would want the marriage to continue, while pleading with the court to deny her husband’s request.

She pleaded, “I beg the court to settle us. He has never caught me with a man. He always suspected my every move to the extent that he smells my pants whenever I go out and come back.

“I want this court to settle this matter I am not ready for divorce.”

In his verdict, the President of the court, Mrs Funmi Adeola, advised Sekinat to stop misbehaving and to take good care of her husband.

The matter was adjourned until Nov. 30 for judgment.

A Facebook User, who’s also a massage therapist, named Christy Glo, has declared and revealed to her followers that she communicates with ghosts on a daily basis.

According to Christy, she says she sees different ghosts on a daily basis, and their purpose is to guide her daily. She says the ghosts tell her which evil customer to avoid and that even when she goes to an evil person’s house, the ghost of the day would give her maximum protection. Christy says she is a Christian. Some of her commenters said they too also see ghost.

A teacher of Colombian origin was arrested for last year for sending suggestive photos to her students and threatening to make them fail if they refused to have sex with her.

The woman, identified simply as Yokasta M. was arrested after a father of one of the students saw photos of the teacher on his son’s phone and reported to the relevant authorities. This was in 2016.

Soon after she was exposed, her husband filed for divorce. The case was highly sensational last year and made news headlines. It was reported that the teacher selected the boys, all less than 17 years of age, based on their appearance.

An investigation has been ongoing since and a recent report from Channel 4 of Nicaragua says she has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. A lot of people are questioning the sentence, saying 40 years is too long a time for the crime she committed.

Men of the Police in Ogun State have arrested one Ehioboh Lucky for impersonating a billionaire businessman, Dr. Mike Adenuga Jr.

While parading the suspect yesterday, the spokesman of Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Lucky was arrested on November 6, following a complaint by one Abiola Olalekan Ogunseye, who claimed the suspect defrauded him of N1,028,770.

Oyeyemi said the suspect, who hails from Edo State, had opened a Facebook account with the name and picture of the business mogul, which he has been using to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.

“One of his victims, Abiola Olalekan Ogunseye, came into contact with him on Facebook where he promised to get employment for him at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and asked him to pay the sum of N1.5 million to ‘settle’ some members of the management of the corporation who will influence his appointment.

“The sum of N1,028,770 has so far been paid to the suspect before the victim realized that he was a fraudster.

“The victim lodged complain via a petition to the Ogun State Commissioner of Police and Officer in Charge of Anti Kidnapping and Cultism, CSP Opeyemi Kujore was directed to go after the suspect.

“After weeks of investigation, the suspect was apprehended on Monday 6th of November, 2017. Recovered from him are one iphone 6, a laptop, eight different SIM cards, five different ATM cards and one international passport,” Oyeyemi said.

The spokesman, however, said the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigation was concluded.

A Kenyan mother, identified as Jacintah Akinyi, who gave birth to an extremely rare naturally-conceived quintuplets has lost all five babies.

The 30-year old mother, who did not know she was carrying five babies went into labour on Sunday and gave birth to two babies at home, who both died, before being transferred to the Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital.

Nurse Manager, Florence Ogero said a third baby died that night, due to being underweight and suffering a condition caused by low levels of blood platelets.

“The other one had severe pneumonia and from all those birth-related complications, these babies have succumbed. It was a premature delivery and the mother did not attend antenatal clinic. The multiple deliveries were diagnosed upon delivery so there was no anticipation. We have tried our level best because they were being taken care of by a competent team” she told AFP.

Akinyi is already the mother of four children, and lost a fifth in an earlier pregnancy. There is a one in 60 million chance of a mother falling pregnant with five babies, without hormone treatment, experts say.

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a forty five-year-old man, Ponsak Magani, for allegedly manufacturing local guns at Ibusa, Asaba in Delta State.

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim disclosed this in a statement signed by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka.

Ibrahim stated that the Police also recovered one locally made revolver pistol, locally made single-gun, one drilling machine, one welding machine and one diesel engine generator.

CP Ibrahim said the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS acting on a tip-off arrested the suspect opposite Customary Court, Ogbe-Owele quarters, Ibusa on 7/11/2017, at about 1725hrs.

He noted that investigation into the matter was in progress.
