Politics / Re: Worst First Lady In Nigeria N Why? by eesaah(m): 6:20am On Nov 20, 2010
fstranger:

In all honesty, Dame is better than all the northern first ladies combined. The mere fact that she is a southerner makes her miles better than those illiterate first ladies from the North. Furthermore, the first ladies from the North are no where as pretty.  In addition, Dame came from a very humble beginning, held jobs, and married her husband out of her own free will, same cannot be said about the "gold diggers" from the north.

Any day any time, give me a woman from the south over the best "Almajira" from the backward north; afterall, the worst amongst us is better than the thier best!

Here we go again! Just watch as the thread becomes a North - South thing, Mtcheewwwwwssss

WE SHOULD STOP CRITICIZING EACH OTHER , FROM MY OWN PERSPECTIVE I CAN TELL YOU THAT THEIR ONLY ENJOYING GOD'S FAVOR IF NOT THEY WILL BE DYING OF HUNGER. THEIR LAND IS BAD , THEIR WEATHER IS VERY POOR , NO GOOD WATER TO DRINK AND THEIR FULL ILLITERATES, POWER IS NOT IN THEIR HANDS HOW DO YOU WANT THEM TO SURVIVE . I THINK WE SHOULD BE OKAY WITH WHAT WE HAVE. UPON ALL THE POWERS, THEY STILL HAVE HIGHEST POVERTY RATE IN NIGERIA . ALL WE NEED IS GOD INTERVENTION .
And whos favour are u enjoying that of satan i guess? Man all the bad things u ve mentioned above are not peculiar to the north only. If u are sincere to yourself u will know that its a general thing. Poor masses in the north, south and west are suffering with little or no food to eat, no good water etc  the politicians and those in power are the only ones enjoying.

And what if a Muslim decides on his own free-will not to fast but pray regularly. Will he still find favour from Allah?
A true muslim do not decides on his own whether to observe the five compuslory daily prayers and fasting in the month of ramadan or not. They are obligatory act except if he/she is exempted due to sickness etc.Allah stated in Qur'an

"O you who believe! Observing As-Sawm (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (the pious)? [al-Baqarah 2:183]

Hey! I want to share a story with u! Pls note that all abusive comments are not welcome. I need an intellectual reply, it going to serve as mini project to me. Pls help.
The Story goes like this, It happens I've a female friend from Northern Nigerian, she is from an elite home. I went to their house in Kano State to spend sometime with her. I notice something very disturbing about their way of life.
I start seeing it on the first morning, I wake up. She is a faithful Muslim she wakes up early to say her morning prayers. Then when the day break, she turn on her TV to watch news only on Aljazeera news TV. In their house they dont have any Nigerian channel, they dont watch to National news on NTA. She reads newspaper like Daily Trust, and a Kano Based Triumph. She cares less about what going on in Nigeria. All what she cares is Kano and the Arab world.
In the afternoon, we went to see her friends about 4 of them. The situation is all the same, no Nigerian channel on their Sat. Her Friends are Born in Nigeria and School in Nigeria. To my greatest suprise they cant speak English. They speak Hausa and Arabic only. They did their secondary school in the heart of Kano and got Admission in Saudi Arabia to study medicine. I asked on of them to recite the National Anthem, she cant!!! She told me that!!??
Back at my friend home in the evening, I was chatting with her brother, I asked him to recite the national anthem, he did it half way and shut up. I then asked him to recite the National anthem of Saudi arabiya, he did it without any mistake.
I went back to my friend and ask her some few Nigerian Leaders, mostly current Governors from the South East and Niger-Delta. She dont even know one of them. But she can name all the Governors in United Arab Emirate, including Syria, Yemen, Oman, and off course Saudi Arabia. I became totally speechless.
In their house they have 4 Saudi Arabia's flag and non Nigerian flag.
I've chatted with more 50 young people in Kano the condition remain the same. Generally Speaking Kano have very strong tie with the Arab world, than Nigeria States nothing can change this. No wonder many Arabs indigenize in Kano and can run for elections and win!!!.
Many Kano Boys want to marry Arab woman, they like them 100% more Nigerian girls. Most Younger generation of Kano have Arab roots. So pls Nigerian what can u say about this smiley angry shocked lipsrsealed kiss cry
Sometimes i wonder what people gain by coming to nairaland to post stories that are not true. Below are my concern about the post

1. the poster claimed that friend's friend got admission in saudi to study medicine in arabic. This is not possible.Foreigners are not allow admission into undergraduate studies in saudi arabian universities except if the child dad is a lecturer in the university there and even at that they are not allow admission into professional courses like medicine and engineering.I lived in saudi arabia and i know wat am sayin.

2. More also, the saudi arabian national anthem is completely in arabic and i guess the poster is not an arab  and probably do not understand arabic, so how did she know that her friend's brother recited the saudi arabia national anthem without mistake?

Same goes to other claimed the poster made in this post, they are just cooked up.

US is all about democracy when it comes to dealing with other nations. US refuses to be associates with countries with questionable democratic stances, a group where Nigeria falls and tops it. The same applies to Kenya and Zimbabwe. You can imagine a country where there has been successful transition of power for the past 17 years -- it's a commendable situation and those are the kind of nations America associated with. It has nothing to do with their gold or whatever they have. Ghana will gain more international recommendation to what they already have. Nigeria is a joke on the African map

Tell me you are joking about the bold part above, because the last time i checked US has a strong relation with Saudi Govt which is not democratic

Unity of Nigeria is not working out well, and I am just sighting a very bloody future if Nigeria is not divided now, anything can happen in the future, with unity, issues of power sharing, revenue allocation, will not rise,

I am from the North, but I heard that northern leaders are meeting in case 'Yar adua die of his illness, the election should be cancel to avoid Goodluck becoming the President, I am really Sad to hear this, and this should not continue like this, I think all major Nigerian ethnic groups (Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo) should each rule their people, I'm afraid of Nigeria's future if action is not taken now,

Religion / Re: An Attempt To Compare Christianity With E Slam Is Suicidal by eesaah(m): 11:03am On Aug 31, 2008
uchkochi:

There are so many distortions and misconceptions about Christianity. But except you are in Christ you would never be able to grasp what it means. some refer to christianity as a religion its not a religion it is a relationship with God our creator through the only link Jesus Christ. So Christianity is a must not a choice,it is the truth not a fact,it is the way not a way.

E slam is a way not the way,it is a game of trial and error i pity them but those that will accept this truth will experience true life in Jesus Christ. you cannot get to God through Mohammed who is in hell now,you only get to God through Jesus Christ HIS SON though died but arose on the third day and is alive for ever more.

So it is not a question of choice but the wise will accept Christ before it is too late. It might shock you that the so called e slam god is an idol. The king of Kings and Lord of Lords is Jesus Christ.
