I need Mastery by Robert Greene please. My email is: amlawal05@gmail.com |
Let her not remove it when she's going for a job interview also. Bullshit |
cashlurd:For postgraduates 45 is a fail. The minimum grade for them is a C not a D |
MrHenshaw:Best advice |
Victornezzar:There are. |
Sometimes, as a Muslim, I find it hard to comment on these kind of threads. I feel most of the commentators have neither regards nor respect for their Muslim friends. They insult Muslims and Islam in equal measure. They don't know that a significant percentage of Muslims (to be conservative, I'd say 80%) don't support, engage in, or advocate for underage marriage. We don't. But what can one do when the bride's parents consent to the whole thing? They don't know the numerous sensitization campaigns and hundreds of man-hours dedicated to eradicate these and other related practices. But how could they when they don't even know how it all started? Before condemning Islam and Muslims, one should ask why European, Asian or even Southern Nigerian Muslims don't practice these things. |
firstking01:Now I'm disappointed. First, why generalize? Not all of us engage in, or support, this. But... Second, who should we protest against? The bride's parents who consented to the wedding or the authorities who are powerless once parental consent is involved? Or the religious Sheikhs who provide religious backings? While not trying to defend this in human act, I assure you that MOST Northerners don't support this. Even the illiterates among them. Generalizations, however, don't help. At all. |

londonrivals:A president who could personally sign letters congratulating politicians on their birthdays or their children's weddings but could not write even one to condole the families of our fallen soldiers. This shows his priorities. |
Guitarlife:I understand, but still this could be a simple oversight from the site's administrators and not the Professor's fault. So please drop the plagiarism charge. It's too weighty. Thanks. |
ayokunlei:Thanks for the mention, Mr Ayokunlei. I think, as many informed comments here showed, the Op is getting it all wrong. If as the Op said the his article was only 'uploaded' in academic websites (by this perhaps he means the likes of researchgate and academia etc) and not republished, then it's not plagiarism. He should even thank the professor for exposing him to such platforms (which I prefer to call the clubs of academic elites). The professor, being a co-author, has the right to list names of the other authors in whatever order he deems fit; whether his name first and the main author's last or the other way round. I think the Op should also tread carefully. These kinds of soft accusations could land him in big troubles especially if he's in the academics. |
London. Because of its elegance and simplicity |
Cunninlinguist:Demoted? Which University is that? Demoting/dismissing a lecturer isn't that easy |
#fortheloveofbooks. Dan Brown novels is the koko. I have the 6 books, read 4(Angels & Demons, Digital fortress, Da Vinci Code and Deception Point), two to go. That man is just blessedThe Lost Symbol and Inferno? I read all his books |
greatestman:Salaries for GAs range from 105k - 115k. Net pay is usually around 105 or less |
Justice has been done to the question. One thing, however, is that Universities are semi-autonomous and salaries vary from one to another but they all fall within the range stated in various replies up there. Lecturing is a sweet job but not a lucrative one. Merci |
OBJ is a boss. Massive respect |
ayokunlei:LI stands for lecturer 1. M.Phil is for candidates who are studying for a master of philosophy (an upgrade from an MSc but a step below a PhD). M.Phil/PhD protocol is for candidates who are studying for an MPhil leading to a PhD (due to not completely meeting up the admission requirements such as 4.00 CGPA) in the same field as their MSc. However, MPhil/PhD conversion is for candidates that are switching their area of specialisation. Thanks bro |
easzypeaszy:UI is light years ahead of any other university in Nigeria. It is an unwritten policy in my former department that a staff pursuing his/her PhD should only study in one of 3 places: Abroad (preferably UK), in the department or UI. We have about 8 PhDs who studied in UI (some for their MScs) and 4 of them are now professors. I was fortunate to have interacted and learned under the great Professor Osibanjo about 4 years back. Chemistry, everywhere, is simply awesome. |
ayokunlei:Thanks bro. No! A reader is otherwise called an associate professor. It is the last rank before becoming a professor. However, once a lecturer's professorial status is confirmed, it is usually backdated to take effect from the day s/he became an associate professor (reader). Becoming a professor after obtaining a PhD is dependent on a lecturer's rank at the time and the school's promotion policies. Some schools (UDUS, for example, if s/he were an LI before the PhD) promote a lecturer to a senior lecturer status immediately after obtaining a PhD, this means he'd have six years waiting period before becoming professor (3 as a senior lecturer and 3 as a reader). On the other hand, one could serve a minimum of a 4-year waiting period and apply for professorship straight (skipping the readership stage) In schools where accelerated promotion is still practised, a fresh PhD (usually a senior lecturer) could be promoted to a professor in just 3 years. I hope I'm of help, brother |

1. I'm from the North West 2. Zamfara State 3. Rice, beans and stew 4. I like yoruba because they're religious and very creative. I like Igbo because of their intelligence and industry 5. The major problem facing the region, I think, is poverty and insecurity. |

samola98:This is from Jaafar Jaafar's timeline on Facebook: #EseMustLeaveKano Human rights lawyer, Barrister Huwaila Muhammad, spent the whole day at the Zone 1 Police Headquarters in Kano yesterday, investigating Ese Oruru's case. She was there to seek justice for her and help reunite with her distraught family. Huwaila, who had rare access to Ese and interacted with her for several hours, said the teenager spoke Hausa fluently. When I expressed doubt over the authenticity of the audio clip PREMIUM TIMES obtained, Huwaila confirmed to me that it was actually Ese's voice, and was recorded in her presence. I had been on phone with this compassionate lawyer throughout the day, trying to come up with the true story, while at the same time our reporter in Kano was digging the case from another angle. I called a friend at the Criminal Investigation Department, the police spokespersons of Kano Police Command, the zonal headquarters and the Force Headquarters – all in the name of getting true picture of the saga. That aside, as a matter of fact, I would have been more enraged than Ese's parents if my daughter eloped or abducted and taken to Bayelsa. No right-thinking Muslim would support forceful conversion to Islam. I will not even be happy if my matured daughter says she will remain a Muslim and relocate to Bayelsa. What Ese's lover, Yunusa, did should not just stop at condemnation but prosecution. He should be charged to court forthwith for eloping with this teenager. He also deserves a jail term with hard labor for bringing Islam and Muslims under this severe attack. He should be slammed another jail term for making me restless, spending a whole day on a single story. But it appears, for obvious bigotry, some people took the PUNCH story hook, line and sinker. For years, I know PUNCH does not have a reporter in Kano. The paper editorialized and noosed a warped opinion as NEWS! The emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, was unfairly defamed. The paper used the remaining muck it often use as ink to tarnish the image of the emir. Kano Emirate Council should sue PUNCH and other papers that brought the image of the emirate to disrepute. Leaving this grave allegation unchallenged will lead to more grievous allegations in future. If PUNCH is serious, a reporter would have been despatched to Kano for proper investigation at the zonal police headquarters and the emir's palace. But in spite Ese's insistence that she is not returning to Bayelsa, I hereby launch a campaign for her to be FORCEFULLY taken back to Bayelsa – and remain there FOREVER. #EseMustLeaveKano |

arabianights:Does it matter that she's above 37? Methinks what matters is that she's married. Oh well, Mr MSc, who says we are celebrating her qualifications? He asked a question and I answered it to the best of my knowledge. So, what's the big deal? |
tomioro:No sir, the president as Visitor to the universities is to merely be informed of the Council's choice. Nothing more. |
On the other hand, the president as visitor of the universities has no power to appoint or remove any VC of a university with a governing council. So, from whatever angle one looks at this, I think it is a bad move |
