Online profile Many (most) staffing agencies have some candidate-facing portal to which you can apply. For the back-end, there are several software packages available today that provide recruiters with database access to the information you enter on the portal. Be thorough, and keep it current. Saving a few seconds by neglecting to add "Photoshop" to your profile may cost you an opportunity for which you are qualified. 3. Be honest Do not boast experience or credentials you do not have. Claiming proficiency in an area where you are a novice is a sure way to embarrass your agent, and get your file stapled shut. 4. Online samples As a general rule, agencies specializing in creative staffing tend to get requests for talent that fall in to two categories: Designers or Production artists (Developers). Production artists and developers are typically responsible for the work behind the scenes; the front-ends of which have usually been laid-out by a designer or creative director. For such request, image samples or screen shots are often "nice to have" but not required. For design requests, however, your visual samples are a tremendous asset in promoting your work, and winning the job. Agency clients want to know that they are contracting a skilled designer whose style is commensurate with their brand, their message, and the imagery they choose to project. A picture is worth more than a thousand words, and this example is no exception. Here are a few more points to consider when posting samples: "I already have an online portfolio and/or personal web page". Agencies are simply not going to direct clients to your personal web page. Typically your personal pages or social networking sites have your contact information - an open door for a client to contact you directly and circumvent the agent. Although the honor system usually works well in our industry, agencies are typically more protective of their "inventory". Consistency is another factor. By submitting portfolio samples, an agency can collect talent samples into consistent presentations for their clients. Remove contact info. Avoid posting samples that include your contact information, or even your full name as part of the image. As described above, your agent will want to be the direct recipient of any contact attempts resulting from the promotion of your portfolio. Description of involvement. Whenever you are uploading samples, make sure to add a description of your involvement to each piece (if possible). For example, if you are posting a JPG screen shot of a website you created, do not add descriptive text like "this is a website for XYZ company". For any viewer, it will be plainly obvious that the screen shot is a web site. It would be better to write "I was responsible for the design and development of this web site; using Photoshop and Dreamweaver". Real live work. Sure, we kicked-out a few gems in art school; but this is not the best place to show that off. Rather, stick to the samples that were produced as part of a professional effort. In doing so, an agency may call or email a list of applicants when such opportunities open. Being visible and responsive can make the difference - a call back tomorrow may be too late. 8. Dependability When working with an agency, you will undoubtedly be asked to jump through a few hoops to get you started. The steps above describing online samples and profile information are just two examples. What's more, an agency representing you wants nothing less than a gleaming report from the client about your punctuality, and ability to meet deadlines for deliverables. Being dependable means your agent can submit you for an opportunity with confidence. 9. Pricing Today's economic conditions have many implications in our industry; not the least of which is competition. As unemployment figures rise, more and more talented designers and developers find themselves looking for work. More supply (of talent) and less demand (less hiring) means lower wages and more choice for the hiring managers looking to expand their staff. Hiring managers are keenly aware of this, and often impose upon agencies a maximum rate which they will pay. If you set a bottom line for your wages too high, your agent may skip you and call the next candidate. While this is not always a bad thing, consider lowering your bottom line in order to include your profile in your agent's search results. In this article, I shall be sharing with you most profitable ways and How to become the best teacher in life and career. A. Methods of teaching: 1. Lecture Method Among the oldest, we find the lecture method, which portrays the teacher as one who dispenses knowledge to the ignorant pupil. Teaching consists of ‘Telling’ the pupils certain facts and information which the latter absorbs silently, never talking until he is asked to do so. The method places the teacher in a great authority and the learner in that of dependence. The lecture method is one of the commonest methods. It is particularly suitable for large classes. The method is indispensable to teachers especially when it comes to presenting information, which the learners need. Lecturing consists of telling the students certain truths and information/revelations which the latter absorb SILENTLY, never talking until asked to do so. These truths and information/revelations have to be passed skillfully, logically and systematically in order to promote understanding and spark off the desired ‘revolution’ in the lives of the students. It also has to be used along with other methods to provide a variety of approaches and learning experiences. Used alone and all the time, it can become monotonous and boring and may condemn the learner to perpetual inactivity. 2. Socratic Method A second method is the Socratic method of teaching which is based on dialogue between the teacher and the learners. In this dialogue, three stages are distinguished: the stage of 'opinion' during which the learner is unable to give valid reasons for his assumed knowledge; the second stage is the destructive or analytic stage in which the individual is led to doubt his knowledge and the third stage - the synthetic stage- where the learner's experience is critically reconstructed and he can justify his beliefs by giving reasons for them. The Socratic Method consists essentially of questions and answers. This makes it difficult to apply in the classroom situation where we have many pupils and where the stage of mental development of the pupils may not be advanced enough to support the rigours of the method. However, the Socratic Method can be applied from time to time especially to correct pupils' false beliefs, illogical reasoning and to eradicate taboos and superstitions. It can also be used at certain stages of the lesson to check on the level of understanding of the pupils. 3. Discovery Method The discovery method is based on the assumption that it is better and more useful for learners to discover for themselves certain facts, truths, principles, and knowledge etc. Such knowledge discovered is said to be lasting than one that is poured into the pupils' heads. In this method, materials are supplied to the pupils and the situations created whereby they can search for the required knowledge, truth, value etc. This method is particularly useful in practical subjects like science, social studies and even mathematics. It can also be adopted for library research in other more theoretical subjects like history and literature. Being time consuming, it may not be used too frequently in the classroom. But where used skillfully, it can be very rewarding. 4. Project Method The project method as the name implies is built around a pre-determined project which may be found in a given subject area or be interdisciplinary in nature. The project is usually undertaken to achieve a certain agreed purpose and learners work cooperatively among themselves to achieve this purpose. In undertaking projects, multiple leaning usually takes place. In preparing the lesson notes, the following could be carefully considered: 1. Fresh Notes Lecturers are to develop fresh lesson notes using the Course Outline, recommended books and other relevant materials. 2. The Aim This means the purpose, intention or focus of the subject. The aim of each subject is clearly indicated on the course outline. Failure is a product of broken focus (Matt. 14:29-30) 3. The Objective(S) The objective should be written in terms of the students and not in terms of the subject matter. It should be expressed in terms of what you want the students to get out of the lesson and what they should be able to do at the end of the topic. It may be that one lesson will have several objectives, each of which should be stated in your lesson note. General objective may extend over several lessons with subordinate or specific objective, for each lesson. C. Ask yourself these questions: 1. What do I want the students to derive from their lesson (not “what am I going to teach them”)? 2. How will I know that they have derived it? 3. What do I want the students to do by the end of the lesson to convince me that they have caught it? D. Final Lesson Preparations It is important for us to understand that lack of adequate preparations will result in perspiration; and the absence of preparation equals prepared to fail. This is a common law of life. Therefore, once the lesson note has been carefully prepared, carry out the following steps: • Meditate, ponder, and ruminate over the note to enhance proper understanding of the subject matter. • Create applicable illustrations to drive home your points. • Practice your delivery pattern over and over again. • Pray over the lesson note to generate the required impact. E. Lecture Timing The lecture should be properly spread within the time allocated. Since no lecture is permitted to exceed the allocated time under any circumstances, it may be necessary to divide and affix time to the various topics to be taught in the classroom. The hymen being an elastic fleshy tissue can be stretched open the first time you have vaginal penetration, which might cause some pain or bleeding. But this doesn’t happen to everyone. And there are other ways that a hymen can be stretched open: riding a bike, doing sports, or putting something in your vagina (like a tampon, finger, or intimacy gadget). Once your hymen is stretched open, it can’t grow back. 4 facts you need to know about the female hymen: 1. Hymens vary a lot in how they look Just like the vulva, hymens don’t all look the same. Some may be larger than others, some have fringing, while others are more lobed-shaped. Some have round holes; others have perforations shaped like a half-moon. Imperforate, micro-perforate, and septate hymens interfere with menstrual flow and tampon use. In these cases, you can have a minor surgery (called a hymenectomy) to remove the extra tissue and open up the hymen so period blood can flow through. This is performed by a gynecologist. The hymen is soft cartilage around your womb commonly referred to as your virginity. It was believed that the only way a woman could break her hymen was by having sex with a man. This is because people believed your hymen is your virginity. Although many have accepted this, others believe it is a myth that needs to be corrected.
