Hello fans, the benefits of spy camera cannot be overemphasized, but today, I will share with you just 8 advantages of using spy camera also known as hidden camera. A spy camera is a technology originally used by secret agents. More recently spy cameras are very popular to keep an eye on important assets, child care and elderly care. The purpose of using a spy camera is to film a room or a place in total discretion. Various items are used to hide mini cameras to allow them to operate discreetly in many locations. Because of its type and commonality, it is like an invisible item. You know for a fact that your baby sitter smokes while your baby is around. But you have no concrete evidence to prove it and fire her! That shady boss proposes compromising entanglements to you every day but you have no proof of it to lodge a formal complaint. But worry not; there are Spy cameras to come to your rescue. Read on to know the advantages of spy cameras and how they can save you out of shady situations. Before using a wireless spy camera at home, it is a good idea to find out about the laws in force in your area because sometimes it might be illegal. Below are the 8 benefits of spy cameras: 1. Notifies of an Intruder Spy cameras can help keep a record of thieves on your property. Burglars sometimes approach a house to determine if the owners are home. Many spy cameras are equipped to communicate with you via text notification when activity happens in front of the camera. 2. Helps Capture All Evidence Potential victims of a burglary need to use a spy camera, so everything can be recorded. When filing a police report, you can refer to the recordings of your spy camera and possibly the police can catch the thief. Meanwhile, in extreme cases, the camera evidence can be used in legal proceedings. 3. Monitor your Children and Elderly Parents Some security cameras come with the technology that is easy for monitoring your children while using a Smartphone when you are far away from your house. If your elderly parents are living with you, you can also monitor their activities in a care giver situation. Some cameras are hailed as baby monitors, like when you hire a new babysitter you can easily monitor them through your Smartphone 4. Good for Investigative journalism In the history of 70 years of Independence, journalism has reached greater scales every year. Not just reporting hard facts, the fourth estate has evolved to knee deep into the murky world of scams and corruption to expose the greed for more that is deep rooted in the world. Thus, rose to fame investigative journalism whose offshoot is expose journalism. Expose journalism runs majorly on catching the perpetrator of the crime red-handed. Such “caught in action” has been made possible only by the advent of spy cameras. Journalists swear by it and have brought many shady cases of intense corruption and crime out to the light for the common man’s view. Thus, as for a society, a spy camera has been a generous boon. 5. Expose to save the day Exposes do not limit themselves to journalistic purposes. Most of us are stuck in situations when you see a crime unfolding right in front of your eye. Or even grave injustice being done to you but your hands is tied and you are helpless. Here is the spy camera for your rescue too. Common man can access these cameras easily and can employ one to expose the injustice happening to him. With the advent of social media, it wouldn’t take even a day for the expose to get viral. Basic human rights are safe guarded with the usage of spy cameras. 6. Stops Shoplifting and Burglary Shoplifting used to plague showrooms few years back. With no proper surveillance systems in place, burglars could come into the shop, lift things stealthily and walk away without getting caught. But the advent of CCTV cameras has brought an indefinite end to this; at least it looked so for a while. But the shoplifters found innovative ways to escape the apparent CCTVs. Here is when spy cameras come to play for they will be caught off guard. The burglars will never know where the cameras are and will be caught in action while trying to shoplift. 7. The babysitter problem Being modern parents, most of us rush to work very soon after the baby is born. This gives way to baby sitters and midwives to take over your place while you are gone. But it is often found in record and on the grapevine that baby sitters go beyond their responsibilities or do not even up hold these responsibilities to have the benefit of other advantages. Baby sitters are known to have stolen valuables and money from the owner’s house, over eaten from the supplies of the house, over used the provisions like TV and WiFi, called over friends or boyfriends for parties and wreaked havoc and the worst of all, have hurt the baby. Such acts can be caught in spy cameras while in action. 8. Proof of crime Many crimes go unrecorded or without a trial because of lack of evidence. The evidence is either removed or not recorded well for the abused party to use as defense. This is where the use a spy camera to record the happenings and produce them as evidence. Protect your rights with law as you provide concrete evidence to the court. In Conclusion: The main objective of a spy camera is to film and record events, because the gadget allows taking high definition videos which are then saved to a memory card. Hello guys, I will be sharing with you today, 8 tested ways to find hidden cameras at homes or a hotel. 1. Know where to look Owing to advanced technology these days, most cameras can be as small as the end of a pen making them easy to hide virtually anywhere. Therefore, when searching for hidden cameras look at places like smoke detectors, power stripes, night lights, air fresheners, books, DVD cases, video game cases, shelves, small holes in the walls. Other places to look out for are photographs, or other decorative items, stuffed animals such as teddy bears and lamps can also be used to hide a camera. 2. Understand what part of the camera to look for. Most of the camera's part would be hidden but the lens must always be visible for camera to be effective. Any camera installed by an expert will not display wires or light but the lens must be visible. 3. Consider the best angle for coverage in a room. It's easy to search for the camera from the perspective of someone wanting to record the centre of activities in a room. For example; corners of a room provide good camera coverage of a room. 4. Look for oddly placed mirrors or decorations. If you see a picture or mirror at a weird height, there may be a hidden camera embedded. If the mirror is a two way it's suspicious at very least a camera is embedded. A one way mirror at an odd place may be a sign of a hidden camera. 5. Check stuffed animals and clocks. The eyes of stuffed animals or screws of clocks could often conceal a hidden camera. Consider removing them from your vicinity if you suspect they house cameras. 6. Use your cell phone to scan for interference. It isn't a perfect method but it will help you get certain types of cameras. Make a call in your cell phone and leave the caller on the line. Walk around the room with your phone on speaker mode listen for crackling, clicking and buzzing from your phone. That could be a camera streaming. 7. Purchase and use an RF detector. An RF (radio frequency) detector allows you to scan for hidden cameras. This is by physically sweeping the detector around the room and listening to the feedback. If you hear sudden crackling or beeping through the detector, there is a good chance you will find a hidden camera. When using RF detector, you need to unplug any device that broadcast radio signals. This includes kitchen appliances, baby monitors, TVs, radios and so on. You may need to cycle through different frequencies before you find the right one. 8. Use your smart phones front camera. This can be achieved by following the following steps. - open your Smartphone camera and switch to the front camera. - verify your Smartphone can see infrared lights. This can be done by pointing the TV remote to the camera. Press any button on the remote, look for a flash in the remotes control front line on the phones screen. - turn off the lights in the room you want to scan. In order to scan for infrared light you need to have the room as dark as possible. If there are other lights like night lights, power indicators unplug their source. - use you Smartphone camera to look for flashing lights with the phone screen facing you. Rotate while looking for flashing spots. If you see a flashing area, it’s most likely hidden camera's infrared light. Source: https://efogator.com/find-hidden-cameras-in-hotels/

This is all we keep hearing: Nigerians condemns this or that, yet no proper action is taken to stop the evils ruling our day to day lifestyle in Nigeria, living in Nigeria is a hardwork. |
News reaching us says Kelechi Ndukwe, a Nigerian-American on Thursday took over as the commanding officer of USS Halsey (DDG-97), an Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer. Before he took over from DeVere J. Crooks who had commanded the ship since November 2019, he had been serving as the second-in-command. As the first Nigerian-American to command the ship, the new role is the zenith of his 18-year career in the US navy which started with him working as an auxiliaries officer in 2003, a year after obtaining a master’s degree in national security and strategy studies from the US Naval War College. TAKING CHARGE AND WHAT THAT HONOUR MEANS TO HIM During the change of command monitored by Efogator Media, Ndukwe spoke about his birth in the US and how he has built a great career in the navy with the help of colleagues. Ndukwe said he is the oldest of his parent’s four children “but also the smallest”. He talked about how his father and mother migrated to the US from Nigeria in 1977 as “poor college students with hopes and dreams”. “And now their son is the captain of a US warship. In America, anything is possible. Thank you for your example of hard work and dedication and the foundation you have laid for your children,” he added. To DeVere who he took over from, he said the officer’s legacies “will live in Halsey for years to come” and, to his wife, he said, “you are still the greatest decision I have ever made”. Addressing the ship’s crew, Ndukwe said: “I am so honoured and excited to serve as your commanding officer. We will approach any day and mission with pride, professionalism and excellence. You are the life of this ship; this crew is the life of this ship. I thank you for your energy, effort and intensity every day.” SERVED IN MULTIPLE WARSHIPS BEFORE NOW The USS Halsey (DDG 97) is not the first US navy ship Ndukwe will be commanding. From 2013 to 2015, the graduate of chemical engineering was the commanding officer for the USS Devastator (MCM 6), a minesweeper based in Bahrain. According to the Foundation for Defense Democracies (FDD), Ndukwe has served in multiple warships in various parts of the world including the Mediterranean Sea, Horn of Africa, Arabian Gulf, and Western Pacific Ocean. His LinkedIn profile states that he has also served in the following caoacity: weapons officer and combat systems officer of USS Fitzgerald in Yokosuka, Japan, from June 2010 to December 2011; as a navy congressional liaison officer in Washington DC, from July 2006 to August 2008. He also served as the fire control officer of USS Normandy in Norfolk, from 2004 to 2006; and auxiliaries officer of USS Thorn, also in Norfolk, from 2003 to 2004. WORKED UNDER HIGHEST-RANKING US MILITARY OFFICER Ndukwe, who graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2002, has also worked in the office of the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff (CJCS), America’s highest-ranking military officer. While there between April 2017 to February 2019, he served in the force structure, resource, and assessment directorate which is charged with “providing support to CJCS for evaluating and developing force structure requirements” and which “conducts joint, bilateral, and multilateral war games and interagency politico-military seminars and simulations”. Prior to that role, he had served on the OPNAV N96 as the deputy executive assistant to the director of surface warfare and as the surface strike requirements officer, from June 2015 to April 2017 and March 2015 to May 2015 respectively. The OPNAV N96 is the surface warfare directorate responsible for “the determination of force levels, shipboard and related support requirements and major features of programs involving weapon systems, cruisers, destroyers, frigates, command ships, patrol craft, and littoral combat ships”. NOT EVEN WORK CAN KEEP HIM AWAY FROM FAMILY In a Father’s Day interview with the USS Hasley’s crew, Ndukwe spoke about his experience during his first deployment as a father, and how he had to leave family including his pregnant wife behind. But that did not stop him from being there for her when she was giving birth to the baby — their third child. “Thankfully, Halsey (the ship) was in port conducting ammunition on-load, so I was able to FaceTime in for the delivery. We did not have the best connection, but it was still a special moment,” he said. He also spoke about his ties with his Igbo roots which he said informed the decision to name their daughter Kamara. On leaving his family for duty, he said: “I have left a family behind like so many of those shipmates that I served with before and that I am still serving with now and it can take a toll on you if you allow yourself to dwell on it.” Ndukwe now joins the list of other US naval officers making Nigeria proud, including Victor Agunbiade, the navy reserve supply officer honoured in July 2020 for “100 percent accountability” as well as Beauty McGowan, who received a ‘high-performing sailor’ award while serving on the USS Iwo Jima, a US navy assault ship. Have you ever wondered why signals jam when president visits an area, the vehicle above is responsible for such occurrences? If you have ever attended an event where the head of state is in attendance? Have ever noticed something fishy about the network at the place? Phone not having signal? If you have then you may have noticed the presence of the vehicle above, the vehicle is known as Electronic Countermeasure (ECM) Vehicle, though it is always kept a distance from where the head of State is. The vehicle is used to jam up communication in the area, as a means of neutralizing any threat that may befall the head of state, by cutting communication among the threats. Has the ability to detect electronically controlled bombs that could be set, and get triggered by a phone signal, to hurt the head of state. The vehicle is fitted with an item that has the ability of jamming the signal, and also has another one known as "SONAR" which has ability of picking up foreign item that might be heading the way of the head of state. The author of a book on the missing flight MH370 claims the plane was shot down by the US Air Force in a doomed bid to seize electronic equipment bound for China. The Boeing 777 vanished in 2014 with the loss of all 239 passengers on board. Its disappearance has become one of the greatest mysteries in modern aviation and has sparked dozens of conspiracy theories. Now, a French investigative journalist believes she has solved the puzzle. Florence de Changy, who has been investigating and reporting on the MH370 for many years, argues that the American military used signal jamming technology to wipe the plane from radar screens – before shooting it down after a failed attempt to re-direct it. She argues the US sought to seize sensitive electronic gear on its way to Beijing, as The Daily Mail reports. De Changy makes the case in her new 400-page book ‘The Disappearing Act: The Impossible Case of MH370’. Over 14 chapters she dismisses theories already put forward, including the idea that there was a fire on board, and that the plane was hijacked. According to de Changy’s hypothesis, the US was trying to keep hold of 2.5 tonnes of its “poorly documented Motorola electronics equipment” that had not been through the correct security screening. She writes: “The shooting down could have been a blunder, but it could have also been a last resort to stop the plane and its special cargo from falling into Chinese hands.” Earlier this year, it was reported that wreckage believed to be from flight MH370 indicated the passenger jet crashed into the sea in an uncontrolled high-speed dive. Independent experts analysed part of a wing spoiler, and argued the damage indicated it was torn from the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777. A piece of debris belonging to flight MH370 is displayed during the remembrance ceremony to mark the fifth anniversary of the Malaysian Airlines plane disappearance, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on March 3 2019. De Changy concedes that her own hypothesis is far-fetched. But she believes she is right to dismiss other theories. She writes: “I have established that MH370 did not U-turn, did not fly over Malaysia and, to cut a long story shot, never crashed in the Southern Indian Ocean. Many more clues point to a covert interception attempt that went terribly wrong, with a fatal accident happening at 2:40 a.m. between Vietnam and China.” On one point she is absolutely certain: ‘It was not possible […] for a Boeing 777 to have simply disappeared.’ The Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 took off from Kuala Lumpur on March 8, 2014. It should have landed in Beijing later that day but instead disappeared less than an hour after take-off. There has been no trace of the passengers or cabin crew. More than three years after the plane vanished, debris began to wash up on beaches across the Indian Ocean The hunt for the missing jet – the most costly and far-reaching search in the history of aviation – was called off in 2018. There are many theories, but still no conclusive answers in the search for the missing Flight MH370. Source: https://efogator.com/mh370-was-shot-down-by-us-air-force-for-this-reasons/ |
After I had cleaned and tidied up my house, my brother phoned me and said, "My wife and I are coming to visit you." I went to my kitchen to prepare something for them, but I could not find anything available to serve them. After much thought and search, all I could lay my hands on were a few oranges. Therefore, I made two cups of cold juice immediately. When my brother and his wife arrived I was shocked to see his mother-in-law with them, who came to visit us for the first time. So I served the two cups of juice to his wife and her mother, and I placed a cup of water in front of my brother, saying, 'I know that you like 7Up.' He drank a sip and realised that it was water. And suddenly his mother-in-law said, I'm feeling for 7Up. Please give it to me! Here I was, baffled and caught up with embarrassment. But my brother saved me by saying to her, 'I will bring you a clean glass from the kitchen.' After a while we heard the sound of a glass breaking in the kitchen. He then came back and told his mother-in-law, 'Sorry, it fell from my hands and the glass broke. But no problem, I will go to the shop to get another one. His mother-in-law refused and said, "There is no need for that. It was not meant for me anyway." Eventually when they were going, my brother bid me farewell and placed some money into my hand and said, "Don't forget to clean the kitchen of the 7Up so that ants do not come." And he bid me farewell with a smile and love. In this way, my brother considered my feelings and concealed my shortcoming. THIS IS SIBLING LOVE, AND BLOOD RELATIONSHIP. When you're in a position, use it to lift others. Running anyone down will never make you better! This is a very touching story. Let me ask you, "'How do you treat your siblings, friends, family, colleagues, etc? Do you cover-up their shame or you expose them? *A food for thought. A Filipino woman by name, Naciz, based in Nigeria has taken time to analyze why ladies from other Nationality seem to love and prefer to date and marry Nigerian men than theirs. In recent times, many Nigerian women have complained about the rate at which Nigerian men is being snatched from them by women from other countries. Naciz made it clear that women from other countries do not snatch Nigerian men rather it is Nigerian men who go after women from other Nationality or race. She claimed that the reason Nigerian men sweep women from other Nationality off their feet is because; 1) They are sweet talkers Nigerian men can go an extra mile in talking a woman to themselves and this evident in most of their approach like; they walk up to you and be like "baby you're too beautiful" even when you're old enough to be his mother, this is often a direct statement most women from other places don't witness. 2) They see opportunities According to Naciz, she claimed that Nigerian men see opportunities that abounds in a relationship, they tend to see where a relationship is headed from the beginning whether it's a long term or short term thing. 3) Nigerian men spends a lot on their Girl friend or wife This beautiful lady said "unlike Filipino men, Nigerian men are very generous and showers their women with gifts if he's truly in love with you". 3) Nigerian men know how to dress she adored Nigerian men for their dress sense, she further made it clear that no woman wouldn't want to date or marry someone who has a great sense of fashion. 4) Nigerian men love luxury cars She claimed that she's seen a lot of luxury cars owned by Nigerian men since she touched down the country. 5) Nigerian men are not afraid to approach a woman Naciz said that most Nigerian men are not afraid to approach a woman whether she's rich or not, once their love you they go for you. Engr. Emmanuel Junior Zakka is a lecturer in the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka in Kaduna state where about 39 students were kidnapped by Bandits from the school in the late hours of the night. While efforts are been put in place for their release, Engr. Zakka shares an insider report of the entire events of the night below: "On that fateful night which many of the students will NEVER forget (or forgive), between 10 and 11:30pm, 11th March 2021, exactly a week to the commencement of their second semester exams, a day after their first semester results were released. Students of Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna, a school located on the opposite side of the military fortress, permanent site of the prestigious Nigerian Defense Academy, were either going to sleep, preparing some fast food to eat or were in the Main Hall of the college studying. Some were in the studio (in the case of the two best friends, Julius Sunday and Umaya Alhamdu), when evil men stormed the college from the right side of the very well-constructed perimeter fence. Ife, we were told, was hungry that night and wanted to boil some water to prepare some pap (turn brown) to drink when her friend, Kudirat, came into the hostel and complained of heat and then stepped out. No sooner had she stepped out than the abductors arrived at the female hostel. She had no hiding place. She was taken. The friends? Some of them hid under their beds, in common rooms, and any other places they could find. The kidnappers went to the hostels and dragged some of the students out. Now in the college there are two female and two male hostels. The female hostels are together, side by side - one is a new building while the other is old. Those in the old were the ones taken, the ones in the new turned off their light and went mute and thus did not attract much attention as such. For the male hostels, one is to the far right of the college, the last building on that end of the college near the perimeter fence. The other one is the last building left of the college (from the main gate). You have to be told to know where the male hostels are located. The female hostels are conspicuous, not hidden at all and close to the administrative block. The bandits came through the right end of the college where one of the male hostels is located. They broke the fence and came in through there. I am sure they only found the hostel on their way to the centre of the school. The students there were taken, all of them. It is not a big hostel and not the main make hostel. Zakari was for me the unsung hero of the night. HE ACTUALLY RESCUED THE SITUATION AND I WILL TELL YOU HOW LATER. When the abductors came in and found the male hostel right of the college, they operated there with no hitch at all. It was a silent and seamless operation since they needed not shoot at anyone. Next to the hostel is the Drawing Studio, and Julius and Umaya were there. They too were taken. Then ZAKARI happened. Zakari was one of the students they abducted and ordered him to take them to the female hostel. According to him, they said the females would get them more money and so they needed to get them. But some of the kidnappers had led the male students they abducted from the hostel into the forest, through the "EYE OF THE NEEDLE" hole they made in the fence, not far from the first male hostel. As Zakari was leading (misleading) them to the female hostels, they came to a building called JICA, and when they found it locked, they shot at the padlock with a gun and forced it open. They thought either staff or students were there. But they found none because the place is a big block of offices, originally constructed for Trial Afforestation by the Japanese. That gunshot made some of the students to scamper for safety wherever they could find. By the way, that was not the first time the students would hear gunshots. They had heard sounds of gunshots many times in the past when soldiers and bandits or robbers exchanged fire close to the college, long before the perimeter fence was erected and much later. So, some of them thought it was one of those things. Others who had ran at the sound of the gunshots as far as the main gate were told to come back that it was not in the school and when they came back they met their ill fate. Now back to Zakari! The female hostel is not far from JICA, less than 100 meters away. So they soon got there. They went to the old hostel and brought out the girls they could find. Zakari courageously hit one of the bandits on the chest and made him lose concentration. Zakari then ran away and they shot at him twice without success. He said he ran away because knowing the kind of temper he has, if he were to be taken into captivity, he would not cooperate with the bandits and that could make them kill him and maybe endanger others. He said he wanted to be killed where his corpse could be found. That was why he ran. So, the gunshots aimed at Zakari was the final blow to the bandits' silent operation. It was no more silent. The shots drew attention. When Zakari ran, he ran to the other male hostel and alerted them. HE SAVED THEM. Since the bandits didn't know about the other hostel, they did not go after him - at least he was the only one and they had many others in their custody. They did not want to leave the many in pursuit of one. When he told the other boys about the development, they ran into the bush for cover. The college is a large space of undeveloped land. So enough space to hide them all. But the bandits later found their way to the other male hostel. Gabriel, Israel and Shebna were in the hostel, trying to hide a female student, Peace, whom they had rescued, when the bandits got there. The boys managed to run and helped Peace to climb the perimeter fence and land on the other side of the fence. They escaped through there. The college is not far from the Kaduna terminus (station) of the Abuja-Kaduna train, in fact you pass by the fence to go to the station. Soldiers are located somewhere close to the station, so he ran there and alerted them, who in turn alerted other soldier colleagues. Meanwhile the bandits were still active on the college campus, at the female hostel. Then the soldiers came. But a little late or not smart? Well, that was what saved the situation from getting worse. When the soldiers came, the main gate into the college has been locked with padlock and no one was there to open it. Everyone had ran for cover. Guess what? Trained soldiers did not know what to do to gain access because the gate was locked, so they kept honking for between 10 and 20 minutes. Can you beat that kind of archaism in thinking? In the end they used their armored vehicle and forced their way into the college. DO YOU THINK THEY MET THE KIDNAPPERS THERE? The kidnappers had taken the other batch of students, mostly female, and retreated before the military arrived. Is that not amazing! Why do they always have to come late? That is for another day. By and large, if they had not come, many more students would have been taken. So, we thank them for there intervention. But, Julius, Umaya's friend, used the distraction that ensued with the coming of the soldiers and ran away, receiving a hit in the process. His friend, Umaya, was not so lucky. A lady also slipped away, but not without a hit on her forehead, which needed stitches, but she is doing better now. Many of the students remained in the bush and did not trust the fact that it was the Nigerian Military that was in the school to prevent further damage. You cannot blame them for that because one female student narrated that she was hiding with 3 others when they heard someone (who was in uniform) asking them to come out that they were soldiers. Two of them fell for the bait and they were taken. So, some of the students did not come out until morning. They did not know who was a real or fake soldiers since they all wore military uniforms. The leaders of the students for the night, Theophilus and Julius Ali, and others, led the military to the bush and called on those hiding to come out of hiding because help had come. Some did, some did not. If you hear the Government talking about RESCUE, there is only one meaning to it - those who were not taken because of the coming of the military or because they hid in the bush or had crossed the fence and ran to safety or even slipped away from the herd and did not get shot. There are many injured students right now. They are my heroes and heroines. It was like rapture - Ife and Kudirat were together only moments earlier, then Kudirat complained of heat and went out, she was taken and Ife was left, but only narrowly. UMAYA and Sunday his friend were together in class studying, Umaya was taken, Sunday narrowly escaped. As you read this, Sunday is on admission in the hospital. He is inconsolable. He is in trauma. He feels as if he could have saved his friend and others. He wants to blame himself for escaping alone. No, my boy, you did nothing wrong. If you had not done what you did, you would have made the number 40 not 39. So, you saved us one soul from sorrows. Mr Sani, a staff of the college, has two of his beautiful daughters in captivity. He is not consolable. There are two other sisters there too. There is one Hajiya who is pregnant. They are poor students just struggling to get an education. They are victims of a system that is not working, victims of a failed security system. If we who have neither son nor daughter in captivity feel this traumatised, how about the students whose classmates were whisked away before their eyes? If we who know none of the 39 students taken feel this broken, how about their parents? Their husbands? Their children? Their families? If we who only read their stories shed so many tears, how about they who are in captivity? God of mercy, God of vengeance, arise and prove yourself strong for the sake of these students. Hello fans, I want to tell you the extraordinary story of an aircraft which was in good flying order except for a blocked pitot tube which caused multiple problems. On Februay 6, 1996, 176 passengers and 13 crew members boarded a plane in the Dominican Republic for an overnight flight to Frankfurt, Germany. Just before takeoff as the plane rolled down the runway at 11:42 p.m. the pilot noticed a problem with one of the air speed indicators but chose not to abort the flight. It proved to be a fateful decision. Approximately 10 minutes later as the airliner climbed to 4,700 feet, the captain’s air speed indicator began transmitting conflicting information from that of the co-pilot’s, prompting the plane’s auto-pilot to determine that the plane was traveling too fast, gradually raising the nose to slow it down. As multiple warnings sounded in the cockpit and the two pilot’s attempted to get a handle on their rapidly deteriorating situation, they took control of the plane, but within minutes the 757 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, killing all 189 people on board. Investigators concluded that mud dauber wasps blocked the uncovered Pitot tubes which fed the captain's air speed indicator which caused it to malfunction. Mud daubers looking for nests choose ones which are more or less tubular; and when they make their nest the mud dries and hardens. A pitot tube is a perfect home for the wasp especially as the 757 was lying idle at the airport for 25 days since its last flight which was more than enough time for the wasp to build its nest in the uncovered pitot tubes. That is how this tiny insect led to a series of mistakes which brought down the passenger jet leading to the death of 189 people. How Fuel Price Rose From 6 Kobos To N212 in Nigeria, the Only President Who Didn’t Increase It The recent increase in the price of fuel in Nigeria has been the major headline all day. And this has gotten many Nigerians worried and angry, as the price suddenly increased from around N175 per litre to N212 per litre. Personally, on hearing the news, I was really shocked as to where this nation is heading to. However, the minister for petroleum has now revealed that alongside him, President Buhari wasn’t aware of the change in price. Meanwhile, I will be using this opportunity to show you how the price of fuel has increased in Nigeria over the last 5 decades. And i will also be showing the only President who didn’t increase the price of fuel throughout his tenure. So let’s Go… 1. Yakubu Gowon: In the year 1973, yakubu Gowon increased the price of fuel by from 6 Kobo to 8.45 Kobo. 2. Murtala Mohammed: In the year 1976, murtala Mohammed increased the price from 8.45 Kobo to 15.3 Kobo. . Olusegun Obasanjo: In the year 1978, olusegun Obasanjo increased the price from 9 Kobo to 15.3 Kobo. 4. Shehu Shagari: In the year 1982, shagari increased the price from 15.3 Kobo to 20 Kobo. 5. Ibrahim Babangida: In the year 1986, Babangida increased the price from 20 Kobo to 39.5 Kobo. Again in the year 1988, Babangida increased it 42 Kobo and then to 60 Kobo in 1989. However in 1991, he increased it again to 70 Kobo. 6. Earnest Shonekan: Mr. Shonekan spent just 82 days in power but he increased the price of fuel from 70 Kobo to N5. 7. Sani Abacha: In the year 1993, Abacha decreased the price of fuel from N5 to N3.25 Kobo. But in the year 1994, he massively increased it to N15. However, he reduced it again to N11 in 1994. 8. Abdusalami Abubakar: In the year 1998, abubakar increased the price from N11 to N25. But later decreased it to N20 in 1999. 9. Olusegun Obasanjo: In the year 2000, President Obasanjo increased the price from N20 to N30. But in that same year, he decreased it to N22. However in 2002, he increased it to N26 before skyrocketing it to N42 in 2003. In 2004, the price Rose to N50 and in the same year, the price rose to N65 before it later increased to N75. 10. Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua: In the year 2007, Yar’Adua reduced the price to N65. 11. Goodluck Jonathan: In 2012, GEJ increased it to N141 before reducing it to N97 in the same year. However, he further reduced it to N87 in 2015 before leaving. 12. Muhammadu Buhari: In 2016, Buhari Increased the price to N145 and that was how the price kept on rising until it got to N212. Meanwhile, amidst all these leaders, only Yar’Adua didn’t increase the price. What is your opinion over this development? New Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Patrice Motsepe inherits a troubled organisation. AFP Sport lists six of the challenges he faces following his election on Friday: Corruption The public image of CAF has taken a battering in recent years amid numerous allegations of corruption, some of which were proven in a FIFA probe and led to the banning of former president Ahmad Ahmad. What must concern Motsepe is that shortly before the ban, 46 of the 54 African national football associations publicly backed the Malagasy official for a second four-year term. Charges which led to the downfall of Ahmad included the “misappropriation of funds”, “abuse of power” and “offering and accepting gifts or other benefits”. Governance A recent Pricewaterhouse Cooper forensic audit, complicated by CAF making many payments in cash, painted a picture of financial and governance disarray. Its accounting was described as “unreliable and untrustworthy” with many transactions having “little or no supporting documentation”. The departments at the Cairo headquarters were said to be “understaffed” with staff “overworked and generally demotivated”. TV blackout Johannesburg-based SuperSport, the main English language broadcasters of African football, have not screened matches since late 2019 because of a contract dispute. The blackout affected the recent African Nations Championship in Cameroon, 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the 2020 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup competitions. Former African Footballer of the Year and Zambia star Kalusha Bwalya says: “The biggest challenges facing Motsepe are uniting CAF and sorting out the TV issue.” Communications Entering the CAF website (www.cafonline.com) offers little assistance to those seeking the latest African football news. Click on ‘Competitions/World Cup 2022’ and there are fixtures, venues and referees for qualifiers played in September 2019, but no results, goal scorers or times of goals from those matches. The draw for the second qualifying round was made on January 21, 2020 with the first matches scheduled for this May, but there are no details of the draw or fixtures. Referees Allegations of biased and incompetent refereeing of CAF club and national team fixtures have been part of the African football tapestry for decades. As TV coverage grows and more cameras are used, the problem has become more obvious in a continent where VAR is rarely used. Aware of the problem, FIFA president Gianni Infantino favours an elite panel of full-time African referees paid by the world governing body. Prize money Many clubs lose money competing in CAF competitions, where prize money kicks in only after two (Champions League) or three (Confederation Cup) qualifying rounds. Even teams that go all the way and pocket the Champions League first prize of $2.5 million (2.1 million euros) say they lose out with half the money needed for player bonuses. “It is a ridiculous situation that owners of clubs who win trophies have to dig into their own pockets to balance the books,” says Infantino. Freed Chibok girl reveals real reason why Shekau kidnapped them and how she survived in captivity In April 2014, Nigeria and the world were stunned when Boko Haram, the deadly terrorist organization that has been terrorizing northerners kidnapped over 270 schoolgirls from Chibok, Borno. People went out on the streets to protest, many people started throwing shades at the then-president, the Army went on a futile search for the kidnapped girls but it all yielded nothing. To this day, more than 100 of these girls are still missing after over six years of their captivity. One of the girls who was freed after some negotiations made by a diplomat from Switzerland and a small team of Nigerian volunteers was interviewed recently and in that interview, she revealed why they were really abducted by Boko Haram and how they survived in captivity. During her interview with BBC, Noami Adamu, a now 24 years old woman revealed her life story and how the recent kidnappings still affect her. Naomi revealed that she was the oldest among the kidnapped girls who were fond of calling her 'mother'. She revealed that a large percentage of the kidnapped girls were Christians and they were forced to learn Islamic verses. She revealed that instead of writing verses, she wrote everything that happened to them daily in case they could not make it out of their captivity. She said that vehemently refused to marry any of the men or convert to Islam and each time she did that, she would be beaten to a stupor and threatened with death. In her captivity, she missed her parents so much and in her diary, she wrote a Christmas letter to her parents telling them about her situation. After she and some of her friends continued to be rebellious against the terrorists, they were taken to Shekau, the man who orchestrated their kidnap. It was there that Shekau told them the real reason why they were kidnapped which she revealed to BBC news. She said that the real reason was to force the government to release their arrested men and not to marry them off, but when social media campaigns and protest erupted for the girls and even made International news, Boko Haram decided to keep them and up their demands since they had become national treasures. Naomi revealed that she and her friends became more rebellious and even started singing loud hymns and writing Bible verses in front of their captives. She was freed with 81 other girls after 3 years in captivity. She said that she was surprised that Boko Haram is still standing today even after they split after her release. The way Social media and foreigners reacted to the kidnap showed the terrorists that kidnapping school children was valuable to them. The recent wave of schoolgirls kidnapping has been bringing some bad memories to Noami who cannot imagine how the girls would take in what she experienced. The recent kidnappings which took place in Dapchi, where Leah Sharibu is yet to be released, Jangebe, Kagara, and Kankara show that terrorists have taken mass school children kidnapping as a new business. Naomi is now happily married and is expecting a new baby. Her experience is just one of many recorded in a book called "Bring Back Our Girls" by journalists Joe Parkinson and Drew Hinshaw. Have you ever transferred a huge amount of money to an incorrect account? If you've ever be a victim, kindly sit tight and read between the lines and the rigors and frustrations you witness will be reduced. A lot of human beings have lost jobs, businesses, relationships, or even their lives due to this problem, however, I've a little bit of information for you. Though no one ever plan to make a transfer to a wrong account. The unfortunate is that many human beings have been a victim of this thing, which usually result to loss big sum of money. The fundamental subject of this write-up is, every time you transfer cash to an incorrect account, the cash isn't always misplaced, you may nonetheless reclaim it and the way it works is what I'm approximately showing. Whenever you plan to transfer cash to someone and it mistakenly got into a wrong account do not panic, just visit the bank you are using and table your complaint. When you notify your bank of the development, they will investigate your account to confirm if the cash has virtually left the account. If they discovered that the cash has left your account, they'll then contact the bank official of account it landed. Once that is done, they'll tell the bank officials of the development, the bank official will then contact the owner of the incorrect account, informing him/her that the cash that was transferred to his/her account was an incorrect transaction. At this stage, the owner of the incorrect account is predicted to conform and send the cash back to the real owner. Hopefully, with all things being equal, wrongly transferred funds should be reversed within 2 days. However, sometimes it could take longer, even running into months, due to various reasons. Now, the bank does not just go ahead to reverse the sum to your account simply because you claim to have been defrauded. If this is were the case, some persons could mischievously try to recall funds used as payment for legitimate services or products. In resolving the complaint, the recipient has to verify your claim that the funds don’t belong to them. Like most banks state, consent from the recipient has to be given to reverse the amount in dispute, unless it is an outright fraud case. If the recipient insists that it’s a valid transfer and refuses to give consent, the bank could maintain the hold on their account, making it impossible to spend the money. The problem, however, is that your money remains stuck in the account till the day they walk into the bank to authorise the reversal. In some cases, the bank may advise you to take the case to court and secure an injunction to get back the money, or compel the recipient to show up. If it is a case of fraud, you might need to involve relevant law enforcement agencies. Also, the account is then added to the watchlist for subsequent transactions, or completely closed, depending on the gravity of the allegation. Whenever making a transfer, be sure to double-check account name, number and bank to avoid sending the money to someone else with similar details. Also, avoid divulging personal details to fraudsters so that they don’t gain access to your account to carry out unauthorised transfers. Hello fans, in this post today, I will be showing you something you probably don't know, something you do know little about, or perhaps you do know but still not sure. This is nothing but the difference between England, United Kingdom, and Great Britain. For easier and better understanding, I attached their maps and flags for you to see. England To begin this teaching I will like to start with England. England is a country on its own. It contains 51 major cities and London is its Capital. A man from England is called Englishman, a woman from England is called Englishwoman. United Kingdom The United Kingdom is a combination of several nations that combined together to form a union. As the word "United" there indicates that these countries came in unity to form one body. UK is not a country but a United Body. The countries that forms the United Kingdom are England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. United Kingdom consist of four countries. Ireland The Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland used to be a single nation until 1922 when they got separated. The Northern Ireland Joined the United Kingdom while the Republic of Ireland stand alone. You can see from the diagram below the countries and the year they join the United Kingdom. Great Britain Great Britain is also an ancient combination of three great nations of England, Scotland and Wales. This great combination have birth many nations especially in Africa including Nigeria. A person from this region is often referred to as the British. Their Capital City The Capital of England is London, and the capital of Scotland is Edinburgh. The capital of Wales is Cardiff, that of Northern Ireland is Belfast while Republic of Ireland is Dublin. The Union Jack - Flag of United Kingdom I'm sure you have learn something new here, kindly hit the follow button and share with others. Hello all, my husband and I witnessed a scene from the window around 1:30 am to 2:45 am today and I have decided to share so that we all keep guard. Someone intentionally left a baby, wrapped in a white cloth right in front of our gate. The baby cried for over 30 minutes, and it stopped crying. A guy in black, hiding behind our wall, crawled to hit the baby again to cry. When they realized no one was coming out to check on the baby, he crawled to carry it off the road and in a few minutes, a taxi came and they went away. We called the contact number of our neighbour, we asked if he had seen anything of that sort around his house and he informed us that, it's a new strategy of armed robbers and that his elder brother was robbed last week using the same method. Let's all keep guard. Thank you. Copied from a group. AS RECEIVED |
Scorpions are predatory arachnids of the order Scorpiones. They have eight legs, and are easily recognized by a pair of grasping pincers and a narrow, segmented tail, often carried in a characteristic forward curve over the back and always ending with a stinger. They are insects which can be very deadly. They often hide in holes and crevices. It is a well known fact that scorpions are highly dreaded because of their sting. When they sting, they often transmit poison. This is why we usually kill them when we sight them. The poison of Scorpions is usually found at the stinger of the Scorpion which is located at the tail. When Scorpions sting, they can be very painful and disturbing. Such pains can persist for long. Also, Scorpions can release venom or poison which can travel through the bloodstream and cause more harm to the stung individual. Interestingly, Scorpion venoms or poisons are highly valued because of their medicinal purposes. The venom contains useful proteins and other nutrients. This protein found in Scorpion venoms is used for the treatment of diseases like multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease. It is usually harvested and can be sold for a lot of money, particularly the Scorpion specie called Deathstalker. According to American financial and business news (Business Insider) this venom is regarded as one of the most expensive liquid in the world as it costs $39 million per gallon. The process of harvesting the venom is a very tedious one. A droplet of it costs $130 Dollars. See VIDEO. So, now you know how much you can make from Scorpions, will you still kill them again? Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries has apologized over the viral audio clip which a former Pastor in his church, Mike Davids who accused him of sleeping with his wife claimed was from their phone conversation. The Cleric admitted that he reacted angrily and the audio clip was from a conversation with a lady who he was telling to stop calling him, and not from a phone conversation with Davids. He also disclosed that the incident happened 3 years ago, and he has changed from who he was at that time. Apostle Suleman further accused Mike Davids of conniving with other former Pastors in his church who he disciplined, to blackmail him. He also revealed that he relieved Davids of his duties as a Pastor in his church because his heart is “evil.” He accused him (Davids) of always planning evil against other Pastors and being angry at him because he helped his wife who he divorced, in spite of him (Davids) insisting that she must “eat from the gutter”. Apostle Suleman urged Davids to repent before it is too late, as there’s still a spot for him in the Kingdom.
