17 placed on fold. 22 by lenght plus seam.
I folded my 15 inch arm measurement into 4 equal parts ("leaving out my 2inch for seam) marked it to get my 'S' shape.

I then measured 4 inch into my fabric to get my arm pit area and conected it to the 4 I first folded my fabric into.this process is to help get 'S' shape. Next I get my rist area as 9 I also mark out my arm area as 15.

The slit side of my sleeve ,note that its not a must that you side slit of you sleeve meet the mid sleeve you can raise the cut or lower the cut,I my case I made them meet.and I used 5inch to get this area the 5 inch is from my 9inch of my arm hole. Hope my daigram is clear enugh.

yodiyokun: Efosa I beg, I don't understand this explanation at all - no vex. I understand that you are very busy and you doing us all a favor. Cutting a sleeve that fits right is a very sophisticated step and this is why I have so many questions. Please help in what ever way you can.

When I look at the picture of your cut sleeve, there are many subtle curves that I am unable to replicate with your explanation.

For example -

1 when you lay the two piece side by side there is a gap between the two pieces at the sleeve cap and at the bottom - how did you cut the curve?
2. How did you divide your sleeve into two? Is there a particular place you cut it or do we just cut anywhere
3. How did you cut the sleeve cap ( the curve on top of the sleeve) How did you decide how deep or wide it is especially because the sleeve must fit into the armhole on the bodice?
4. Where did you measure your arm measurement - is it the biggest part of your arm and also did you add ease to your measurement
How did you divide your sleeve into two? Is there a particular place you cut it or do we just cut anywhere

from my previous experience sewing, the sleeve is a beast and getting it right is crucial to the final fit of the jacket. I would really appreciate a step by step photo expo on how you cut each step of the sleeve.

EFOSA VAL: So my measurement for my sleeve is arm whole 9,arm 15 ,rist 9,lenght 22

Note that jacket sleeves are not like regullar sleeves .its cut into two for style and effect

So i fold my fabric in two using my arm measurement. 15inch. Also i added 2inch to that 15 for seam= 17
