1. Will this revised cost take care of the staircases?
2. In some earlier threads, it was mentioned that a budget of about N50 should be estimated per block. By today's standards, is that no longer a valid estimate?

We're planning to construct the first floor of a building. So, we asked for quote that will take us from the decking to roof (decking already constructed). It is a single 4-bedroom apartment and we got the quotes below.

Total number of blocks estimated: 3000
Bricklayer's labour bill for setting block up to roofing level (his exact words): N450,000
Carpenter's workmanship: N65,000
Iron bender workmanship: N75,000

Other information:
1. There are 2 staircases in the plan. We expect the construction of the stairs to be included in the quotes. Do you think they've included these costs?
2. There are 20 pillars in the plan.
3. Site is in Ibafo, Ogun State

I'd like to hear from the experienced people on this forum before we talk to the worksmen because right now, I'm alarmed, to say the least.

I bought 100ft X 100ft land in Sapele Road, last year 2013 for about #950,000, I have already mould 2000 blocks for now i tend to make it 5000 blocks before i start foundation, i haven't paid the community levy fee of which i was told is 250,000.... i plan on building 3bedroom flat, 2 bathroom, 2bedroom flat, 1 bathroom and 2bedroom flat, 1 bathroom with lounge, kitchen, dinner i.e (3bedroom flat, 2 bathroom, 4bedroom flat, 2bathroom).. my question are:

1: what are all the necessary document they will give to me as a land owner so that i can confirm with the one my sister have?? cos i am very new to land property..
2: what are the estimate amount of building them??
3: How much is the plan approval fee in benin city

Buh pondering of breaking up dat crack a bit and laying rods within then cover it up. Having som financial set-back for mii 2 get doz structural engr. 4 now.

This is normal in building where there's a little challenge on weak cement mixture at that particular point things like that happens and the only thing need is for you to crack that place a little wide get some pieces of rods place in it crossed like this sign (*) 3 or 4 places and fill with hard cement and that's it go on with your plastering.

Thank you very much my OGA HAJI its very good that in life there's always someone to defend your integrity I really appreciate your defensive explanation even though I had to show the concrete capping just to allow the house know that I didn't raise the blocks just like but I still appreciate the quick understanding by my other general but the german floor has been done and the available blocks on ground has being used on the building.

We have been having challenges in getting materials to site so not to waste some important time I had to introduce this method to enable the workers get busy a bit so I had to take the thickness of the german floor and cast it on the blocks so from there they can set and as soon as we finish the cas we can get on with the job .
